The Keith Lee Effect: D.C. Area Restaurants Sell Out After TikTok Critic’s Visits | Eater DC

"I gave the lemongrass chicken bowl an 8.5 out of 10 for its flavorful, juicy chicken with pickled vegetables, peanuts, and cucumber over white rice; the Hawaiian-ish bowl scored a 7.5, and a bite with the cucumber kimchi landed at about an 8.2. After my visit business spiked — the owner said revenue jumped 300% over an already-strong month and they fully sold out on Sunday — and I left $1,000 plus $2,000 to pay for future customers after hearing about DoorDash theft. The owner has been restocking daily and is asking customers to order online while they try to keep supplies stocked." - Emily Venezky

After Middling Reviews, Keith Lee Might Already Be Moving On to Baltimore | Eater DC

"A struggling Fairfax spot that Lee has championed, receiving the highest DMV rating so far (8.5) for its lemongrass rice bowl; Lee and his family also gave the owner $2,000 after learning she had been scammed on DoorDash." - Emily Venezky

I finally got to try Okonomi Grill today and absolutely LOVED it! This fast casual restaurant has been on my radar for years as it went viral from Keith Lee’s visit last year. It certainly exceeded my expectations. I ordered a custom bowl with garlic rice, lemon grass chicken, pineapple fish sauce, caramelized onions, pickled veggies, corn salsa, cucumbers, lettuce, crushed peanuts, and garlic chips. My husband also got a custom bowl but with Korean chicken. For only $15, it was such a great deal! Our bowls were made to order with freshly grilled chicken and they were LOADED. Loved the amount of protein and toppings they gave us. Both bowls were SUPER flavorful and so tasty! Service was great; the worker provided us with recommendations and he was very friendly. 10/10 recommend and will definitely be back soon!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! Their Thai green curry is truly outstanding—rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. It’s easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Honestly, everything I’ve tried on their menu has been consistently delicious, which keeps me coming back. The customer service is just as impressive. The staff are warm, pleasant, and always willing to offer great recommendations based on what you’re in the mood for. Their friendliness and attention make the whole dining experience feel welcoming and enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and genuinely great service!

Google
Had a far different experience than everyone else. Ordered the Korean beef which was not satisfying at all because the beef is minced into small tiny pieces. Was expecting more bulgogi (sliced beef) but got something that was more like ground beef. Definitely didn't seem worth the $18 paid. The beef was really salty but the amount of garlic fried rice given was so little. Was probably around 1 inch deep worth of rice in the bowl and wasn't nearly enough to counteract the saltiness of the beef. The sides also were nothing special. Their cucumber kim chi type dish was way too salty. The only service received was when they call your name when they give you the meal. The guy did not say thank you or anything. Seemed like he didn't want to be there. Atmosphere was also kind of off putting with their weird yellow walls... or maybe it was cause we were the only ones at the restaurant. Granted it was 4:00pm at an hour that is way too early for dinner.

I hope you're not planning to dine in because this place has like 4 or 5 tables inside! It's more of a take-out place and it's a good one at that. If Asians sell KBBQ Chipotle-style, this would be it. I ordered everything on their menu for a big family dinner and I liked almost all of them. The ginger chicken with garlic rice combination takes the crown for me. It tasted super delicious and made me feel like I'm getting all the good nutrients. It's very light and healthy. The corn salsa is also another ingredient I recommend. I thought bibimbap would taste good but unfortunately, that one is at the bottom of my list. I like that touch of fresh mint leaves with the grilled meat. The smell and taste were heightened by it. I live 20 minutes away and placed the order online before heading out. When I got there, all my food was ready. Parking can be a challenge as there aren't that many spots but people aren't there for too long because this place is signed to be taken out. There isn't much décor or staff for you to experience. Food would be your main focus here.

Google
First time trying this. I have to say the prices are some of them most reasonable prices I have ever seen in the area. The portion sizes are okay and the flavour is excellent. Would definitely recommend!

Google
Eaten here twice and had positive experiences both times. Ambience is lacking so I’d suggest doing carry out. That said, the food is on point. The bowls are loaded with protein and cooked perfectly. Meat has never been dry and has been marinated so that there is lots of flavor. Veggies are fresh and portions are large. Worth the price for sure.

Google
I went yesterday and the food was good. The prices are reasonable with the current economy. I didn't know of this place before but now that I know it's close by GMU, I look forward to coming back again.

Google
I love "BYOB" type places, and when I heard about Okonomi, I had to give this a try! The Food: I had to try the Korean Chicken bowl + Garlic Fried Rice. All the toppings looked so good, but I only got the ones that I frequently eat. I had to add the mac salad to my bowl as well. The food looked hot nd fresh as well, which is a plus. Overall, all the ingredients and toppings were cooked well with full of flavor! And they pack the bowl nicely and generously too! The Service: Service was great! Was greeted by staff and they were all friendly and welcoming. Service was pretty fast when I was there, so no long wait times. The Atmosphere: Plenty of seating inside. The space is nice and clean. No complaints. Overall, a 5/5! Highly recommend Okonomi, I'll be back again for sure

Yelp
There's a lot to like at Okonomi. Let's start with the Hawaiian-ish , seems like the go-to menu item. The garlic fried rice, teriyaki chicken, pickled mix, & green onions...what is not to like. I had high hopes for the mac salad, it definitely needed salt to taste. Other than that, that meal was money. Only thing missing was the Hawaiian Sun drinks in the drink cooler.

Yelp
My partner and I were craving something flavorful and decided to try Okonomi Asian Grill for takeout--and we're so glad we did! We both ordered the Hawaiian-Ish bowls--one with chicken teriyaki and the other with Korean chicken. Both were super tasty, well-seasoned, and the portions were very generous. For our first time trying it, we were seriously impressed. The food traveled well, was still hot when we got it, and the prices were very reasonable. We're already planning to go back--definitely a new favorite in the rotation!

Yelp
Shut the front door! For some reason I had a very tough time finding this place. I thought it was near Lotte or Popeyes, but it's at the shopping strip right before the traffic circle. There are a few spots for parking for Okonomi and the Halal place next door. It's kinda like an Asian Chipotle, but instead of standing in a line to choose items it's semi present ordered online or via the kiosk. It's not the prettiest place inside, but service was great! The food. Holy moly, presentation was legit. The taste. On fire! It was so darn tasty and so much food! I ordered the lemongrass chicken w garlic rice w fish sauce. Sooooo good!

Yelp
Okonomi has been on my list to try and I'm glad I stopped by for lunch! I was lucky enough to find parking. The parking lot is small but the restaurant has two reserved parking spaces for the business pick up orders. I ordered the Hawaiian ish bowl with teriyaki chicken, white rice, Mac salad, and the pineapple fish sauce. I really enjoyed the chicken! The Mac salad okay. I feel like if you have a Hawaiian bowl the Mac needs to be 100%. However, the bowl was fresh and a generous portion. I feel like if I ate the whole thing I would be super full. Service was friendly and efficient. I wish they offered musubis! Will be back to try a different bowl w/o Mac salad.

Yelp
Okonomi was really delicious and filling, so I'm surprised it was just my friend and me along with a couple others getting food to-go. People need to try this place more!! I wish it was closer to where I live so I could stop by more often for fresh, tasty food for a good price. My friend and I stopped by sometime last week for dinner. We were able to place our orders at the kiosk, and the food was ready within 10 minutes. Some ingredients were already prepared in advance, but the proteins are grilled fresh to order. BUILD YOUR OWN BOWL: LEMONGRASS CHICKEN - 13.50 + jasmine rice, sriracha mayo, chopped lettuce, do chua (Vietnamese pickled carrots and daikon), corn salsa, garlic chips, crushed peanuts +2 for HAWAIIAN MAC SCOOP The bowl was huge and the food was filled to the brim. I ended up saving half of it for lunch the next day. The lemongrass chicken was citrusy and savory, which went well with all the toppings I added. It really was the best part of the bowl with its deep, grilled flavor and umami. The do chua added some acidity and brightness, sriracha mayo added some spice and creaminess. The corn salsa provided a good texture. The Hawaiian mac scoop was more creamy than it was cheesy and my favorite part of the bowl after the chicken. I would definitely add the mac scoop to any bowl in the future. I do think there's more rice than I needed, but I also eat more toppings than rice. Absolutely delicious. I would recommend stopping by for sure. If I lived closer, I would be a regular because it's better than other fast-casual options that we have in Arlington/DC.

Yelp
My friend lives in NOVA and has been talking about this place for a while. She picked us up lunch one day so I could try it. I got a Lemongrass Bowl. It was yummy and quite filling. Everything tasted really fresh, which I appreciated!

Yelp
I was influenced by Keith Lee to review this establishment. Okonomi is not a chain despite having that build your own bowl concept like most fast-casual chains do. In my opinion, this place is worth visiting since you get so much food here. Funny enough when I got here there were alot of signs where I'd have to order online so I did. Waited in the car about 15-20 minutes and my order was ready. Thinking they would just be take out only, I went inside to find out I could have just walked in instead! It's okay though, I was just being precautious knowing the hype could have made the wait longer. I got the Hawaiian-ish bowl which consisted of Korean Chicken, Hawaiian Mac Salad, Do Chua, Cucumbers, Togarashi pepper flakes on Jasmine Rice. You also do get a choice of sauce so I got the Pineapple Fish Sauce too. Since I was able to sit down I decided to review on the spot. The bowl first of all is gigantic for what you pay for. It is absolutely heavy and think that's a plus for how much food you are getting for. The food was delicious and with the fish sauce the bowl reminded me of Com Tam. It's a Vietnamese Rice Dish that also used fish sauce but different. The Mac Salad was also great and the amount of rice they give you is also very generous; I was tempted to just get garlic fried rice instead but I think rice with fish sauce was a better choice. I also did get the Vietnamese Coffee... and I would not recommend it. It's not a lot for how much you pay for and it feels like you are paying for a shot of it. Maybe that's just me but the cup is small and when comparing to other places I could get more for the same price somewhere else. Okonomi Asian Grill is still great as a lunch/dinner option. I hope this place succeeds!
google avatar

Una D.

Yelp
Pretty solid I got the Hawaiian bowl with Korean pork. It comes with rice, pickled carrots and horsey, cucumber. I opted for the chili oil but it didn't need it. I also got a extra vat of pickled carrots and horsey The thing I didn't dig was the order kiosk. Not a fan of the lack of personal connection, especially when it's a small local place. Parking is free in the lot. It's next to meowkja meowkja if you have trouble spotting it They have a bathroom which is clean and they have fob attached to a stapler to open it. Overall, if you're in the area check it out!
google avatar

Kaitlyn C.

Yelp
MTO fresh meat and plenty of toppings! Easy ordering at a kiosk, this is like a Korean-Hawaiian fusion chipotle. They give you a lot of rice so mix your bowl really well so you get even bites of topping/rice. The Hawaiian-ish comes with mac salad which is one of my faves. The creaminess pulls it all together topped with the pineapple fish sauce. The spicy cucumber is marinated very well- quality of Korean restaurant banchan. Limited indoor seating but still can eat there while it's fresh. Hidden gem don't look past it!
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
Very easy lunch kind of like an Asian Chipotle. The food was pretty good but my food was a little cold. Would definitely come back I enjoyed the Vietnamese fusion.
google avatar

Ana T.

Yelp
Had the hawaiian-ish bowl. The pork was very good, the flavor went great with the rice, veggies and mac. I did find the mac a little watery and lacking flavor. The pork compensated and balanced the bowl. I'll be back to try something else.
google avatar

Anna N.

Yelp
Maybe it's because we ate at almost 8pm an hour before closing but the food was very mediocre. It was easy to order from the kiosk and the food came out fairly quick. The flavor on the beef was tasty but everything else seemed plain even after adding sauce on top. I got the garlic fried rice and it seemed overcooked and dry. I think the place is definitely overhyped after blowing up on TikTok and there's better food places to go to in the area. My friend got the chicken and would rate this place 2 stars.
google avatar

Nathan N.

Yelp
Okonomi needs more recognition!! It's a great place to grab a quick and filling bite to eat. You can't go wrong with any of their options but my personal favorites are the Korean pork and Korean chicken. It's basically an Asian chipotle with a smaller, but wayyyyy tastier menu. The restaurant itself is very barebones but it's the food that counts. One thing I real like is that they have deals with other local restaurants like TeaDM and offer discounts to students, teachers, and military. Bubble tea and Okonomi is the perfect lunch combo. Please do yourself a favor by supporting a local business and leaving with a happy and full belly at the same time!

Yelp
I wanted something casual but good quality food. Then I remembered this place that Keith Lee reviewed a few months back. Excited to try the food and was haplysith the result. I got double chicken for my Hawaiian bowl. The cucumber and do Chua were very fresh, lots of places tend to just throw vegetables on dishes just for the sake. The mac salad was solid, I have no complaints there. The chicken was flavorful and to blend it all with the pineapple fish sauce was definitely a good call.
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
We were hungry and found this place through Google. We were pleasantly surprised by how tasty their bowls were. The chicken and pork were cooked perfectly and flavorful. The service was average and it took about five to seven minutes to receive our order. This is more of a takeout place with only a few tables and chairs available for quiet dining. The parking lot layout was unusual as you either pull in from the main road or have to loop around through another parking area. Overall, it is a good lunch spot for anyone looking for a healthier option.
google avatar

Kimi S.

Yelp
Thank you to Keith Lee for reminding me to review one of my favorite local, lunch spots! Okonomi is a build your own rice bowl spot with an Asian twist. I love the fact that this place is locally owned and you can often get a behind the scenes look on what it's like to be a business owner via their newsletter and social media page. It truly makes you want to root for their success even more! It is worth subscribing for the frequent promo codes and deals they drop. My go to bowl is the lemongrass pork bowl with garlic fried rice + pineapple fish sauce. Their bowls are packed full of carbs, protein, and flavor. The Hawaiian-ish is a bit sweet for my taste, but that's truly personal preference. I had a friend recently order them for catering and they said that they were really accomodating even with a 24 hour turnaround. I'm holding this idea in my back pocket for a future event. Excited they are getting accolades beyond the general Fairfax area! This place is a gem.
google avatar

Ankush K.

Yelp
Vegetarian Friendly: Sadly this is not the place to go for my veggie friends as all the bowls really need meat to bring the bowl together. Decor: Honestly the worst thing about this place as it looks like they just did a soft opening. No real decor and have a LONG way to go Food Breakdown: Let's get down to the nitty-gritty--the food! I gotta give a shoutout to their Korean Chicken Salad Bowl. Tender chicken, tasty veggies, and a kick of Korean flavor all piled high on a bed of fresh greens Portion Size: You won't leave Okonomi Asian Grill feeling hungry, that's for sure. Whether you're a light eater or a bottomless pit like me, their portion sizes will have you leaving with a satisfied belly. Price: Now, I know what you're thinking: "Good food must cost a pretty penny, right?" Wrong! Okonomi Asian Grill keeps it real with prices that won't break the bank but it's not the cheapest thing either but for the portion it's pretty solid. Fun fact, if you have student ID you get a 10% discount. Would I go Back: All in all this has won me over with their tasty food and wallet-friendly-ish prices. It's the kind of place you'll want to visit again when you want a solid Asian style bowl.
google avatar

Yulee K.

Yelp
Firstly, you need to order online before. But even if you order online in the store, the food comes out really quickly. The workers were all very friendly. The bowl itself was delicious! When we picked it up, we were surprised by how heavy the bag was. They fill up your bowl to the max! The chicken was delicious and the Mac salad was a nice touch to the bowl. The bang bang sauce is also really good and perfect with the bowl. I will definitely be coming back for a quick lunch!
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place!! My fave is the Hawaiian-ish bowl ... so freaking good and makes me feel like I'm back in Hawaii The service has been great every time as well, every staff member I've dealt with has been such a pleasure! I've only done takeout, but the restaurant is nice and always very clean!
google avatar

Clarence B.

Yelp
Found this place through TickTock. Ordered online! Fresh flavors! This was different but like chipotle as there were many variations to the Hawaiian ish and the other bowls. I will come back. The Washington post was there taking pictures when we went.
google avatar

Raadhika V.

Yelp
My husband loves this place, and I have been waiting MONTHS for them to add a vegetarian bowl, so I was beyond thrilled to see a tofu bowl on their menu! I paired it with the garlic fried rice and a variety of fresh, crunchy toppings including cucumber, corn salsa, and fresh herbs. It was absolutely fantastic. Portions are generous and a bowl is enough for two medium/small portions, or one large, delicious one. They are also working on vegan options, which I was happy to see. Their iced coffee is delicious too, the perfect pick me up. Please visit them, they have by far the best Asian food in the area (and there are a lot of options!), and deserve all the love.

Yelp
I go to Okonomi pretty much every time I'm in the area, which should be a good indicator of how awesome this place is considering it's a fast casual. You can probably get two meals out of an Okonomi bowl volume-wise, but I usually end up finishing it, especially when I get the garlic fried rice. I think this place really stands out from other bowl places in that the cuisine influences make it difficult to create a weird tasting combination. Everything plays really well in terms of texture and flavor, and it's always super fresh. Don't be deceived by the small size of the Vietnamese coffee - it packs a punch! You can order online or have your bowl made in store and will get an equally good and generous experience. This is one of my favorite places, and I'll be back there soon!
google avatar

Larry K.

Yelp
food is excellent. You get to select ingredients which are then prepared and added to dish. Service is not very fast but good prep... Very few tables with lack of ambiance.. Just for eating and going... ie. not great for a date to impress...
google avatar

Mitchell M.

Yelp
Take this review for granted as I don't eat a lot of authentic Asian Cuisine, but it's solid. I would go back for sure
google avatar

Christina K.

Yelp
Okonomi is great! Got hyperfixated on it for a little bit & went 3 days in 1 week lol! Asian chipotle is an accurate description, it tastes good as take out too. The parking is in a very small shopping center right next to an always busy KBBQ place (Meokja), so I wouldn't suggest dining in. We loved the hawaii style bowls !
google avatar

Claudia L.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite lunch stops - heck, I should add it to my dinner menu options as well! Always a friendly welcome from Alex or his staff and the bowls are always delicious! My favorite dish is the Korean beef with an extra scoop of mac salad - absolute perfection!
google avatar

Kimberly L.

Yelp
This review is based on a delivery experience. We did an Uber eats special of BOGO on the Hawaiian B and Lemongrass bowl. We did the pork on the Hawaiian and it was so tender and juicy. For the lemongrass bowl we did chicken and it also melted in your mouth, even my 12mo old enjoyed it. The portions were generous and the sauces (pineapple fish sauce and bang bang) were the perfect match. I might need to find out how to make pineapple fish sauce at home.. Look forward to trying it again with the garlic rice!

Paul D.

Yelp
We tried Okonomi after receiving their flyer in the mail. We ordered the Hawaiian-ish and Binimbap Remix bowls, each with Korean Chicken. They both were delicious and large enough for two meals. Definitely try the Bang Bang, Pineapple Fish, and Sesame Ginger sauces, each of which provided a different and tasty flavor.
google avatar

Eunice K.

Yelp
4.5 stars Food: it was good, but this is the reason I'm docking points. Although the food and options were good, they were out of garlic fried rice, herbs, Korean beef, etc. I totally understand that it's a new establishment, but it was a little sad not to get everything I wanted. We got the Hawaii-ish bowl and lemon grass pork. Overall very flavorful and filling. Service: the people were very nice. An issue was how slowly the food came out. Perhaps I misunderstood that it was like chipotle, but the food came out pretty slowly. Ambiance: the seating was nice and it was a good noise level. Overall a very good experience!

Yelp
Wanted to go this restaurant when they were participating in Fairfax City restaurant week, but was unable to get there, but heard nothing but good things about it, so we went there to give it a try. It's not a fancy restaurant, but what's important is the food, and the people working there. The owner Alex was a great guy, explained the menu and it's options. He talked about his culinary journey and how he loves cooking! I ordered the Hawaiian Bowl special, it came with rice, pickled veggies, Hawaiian macaroni salad, and I chose one of the most delicious chicken I've eaten! The amount of food you got was enough for two, and the food was top notch. You gotta give this establishment a try! You'll love the food and love talking to Alex!
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
I've always seen this place but never tried it. Much like everyone else, we tried it because of Keith Lee and the hype. Came and saw a bunch of signs saying order online. No biggie, ordered online and said it would take 15-20 mins (I actually got it sooner than that). My bf and I shared the lemongrass chicken bowl with rice, scoop of Hawaiian mac, and basically all the veggies. We were both decently full from the bowl and loved the chicken seasoning! Since I ordered online and provided my email, I've been getting updates from the owner, Alex and he's working on improving the wait times by hiring and training more employees but this does take time so be kind and patient!

Yelp
I want to preface this review by saying that it's great to see Asian food making its way into the Chipotle-style fast food scene, and I think Okonomi has potential, but it's just not quite there yet. My partner and I each built our own bowl with garlic rice, his with Korean chicken and mine with teriyaki chicken and various toppings: - Garlic rice: this needed much more garlic. Unless I ate a bite that had garlic in it, it just tasted like regular rice :( - Teriyaki chicken: I appreciate that it wasn't overly salty, but it fell too far to the bland end of the spectrum. I ended up supplementing the flavor with the sesame ginger sauce on the side. - Korean chicken: it had good flavor but I couldn't tell what made this Korean. - Mac salad: this was my favorite LOL I wish I could just order it as a stand-alone side to eat. - Cucumber kimchi: this needed to be marinated more (if you're not a big fan of cucumber flavor, you'll want to avoid this). - Do chua (pickled carrots and daikon): this was pretty good but a little on the salty side. - Herb mix: my partner said the basil tasted fresh and strong, but it had cilantro so I stayed away. - Garlic crisps: get this!! For the price, the portion size was good, though it was a LOT of rice. Despite the enormous serving of carbs, it felt healthy ish because the flavors overall weren't as strong and salty as you typically find when eating out. If you live/work in the area, I think this is a good option for a quick and easy lunch, but I wouldn't make the trek to Fairfax from DC just for this.

Yelp
I've been here several times now. Today was exceptionally busy but everything was great as usual. I usually do Hawaiian and blblmbap. Love them both!

Yelp
Enjoyed coming here to try one of their bowls! The chicken here are amazingly flavored and cooked so well. I really enjoy all the topping you can get here! I don't think there was a topping i didn't like. I got the garlic fried rice as my base and man it was awesome. They have assortment of sauces that you can pick from. I ended up going with the pineapple fish sauce. This was a tangy yet sweet sauce -- i think it went well with my bowl! There's parking outside and dining seats inside. Service here was great and run by the owner who not only cooks the food but also makes the bowls! I also go the viet coffee and creamsicle drinks. The viet coffee was VERY strong but that was expected as the owner told us this is not the normal viet coffee but the beans were imported from Vietnam! The creamsicle wasn't my favorite drink tho. But i think the star here was differently their bowls. Go give them a try as they're also pretty new !! Love supporting loc business and this one has amazing food !!

Yelp
It's not that the food is bad. It's fine . Not soul touching or anything. I don't think I ever need to go back. The annoying thing was all the signs out front saying "YOU MUST ORDER ONLINE OR WE WONT SERVE YOU" Coming from a whole life of service Industry, it's sad to see where service has gone. No personal touch anymore. No smiles, no conversation. Which brings me back to the food. The food is not good enough for me to have to forgo any personal service experience . Especially when great Asian option are a dime a dozen in northern va

Yelp
12/10!! Literally an amazing meal. I got the Hawaiian-ish bowl (they're having a special right now for that bowl + canned soda) and I subbed the jasmine rice for garlic rice (YUM). It was SO good on its own, but I added pineapple fish sauce and bang bang sauce on top of the chicken and it was even better. There's definitely space to sit down and eat, but not a ton (think a standard fast-casual place) and the workers are so nice. My only grievance was that they were all sold out of the Vietnamese iced coffee, which I'll definitely be returning for. Will 1000% be coming back very soon (maybe weekly)!!

Yelp
I'm glad I was able to stumble upon this place. Placed right next to Meokja Meokja. The owner and his dad was very nice and we were able to talk to them and say that they had a very nice establishment going. The restaurant looks plain-ish in the inside but I feel like they will make it look nicer the longer they open. For the food, I got the Korean beef - a $2 upcharge. I love how you can get as many toppings as you want. It's a great price for the amount of rice and meat that they give you, and with the toppings, it's a perfect price point. I got the sesame ginger sauce but I would prefer the fish sauce and I think it would taste great with any dish. I ordered a Vietnamese cold brew but they didn't have it or they ran out. I hope to try that next time. Can't wait until they have their banh mi! I would like to try that.

Yelp
Pretty flavorful and filling! My husband and I came here to order takeout and had it for his Father's Day lunch. I love the balance of sauce, meats and freshness in the bowl. I'd say it's made of pretty simple ingredients, but has great flavor. They didn't skimp out on the meat either. The staff were friendly and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Food is very good. Ambiance is meh, but the food more than makes up for it. Just don't expect a fancy white table cloth type of interior. That definitely isn't what they're trying to be though, and they do the food very well.

Yelp
Small space, small parking lot they have a touch screen you can order from, i love everything in my bowl and its really filling i would recommend the korean chicken and bang bang sauce. It took a while for us to get our bowls but thats because they were cooking the chicken and i think someone might have been training.

Yelp
I've been wanting to check out this place for a little while after having it saved and hearing good things about it. It's basically an Asian Chipotle however you don't select from the window. The menu already has premade bowls but you're welcome to customize to your liking. The guy recommended the Hawaiian bowl for our first time and the Chicken Katsu. He made both fairly quickly and it turned out very tasty. They were very generous with the sauce and the meat was very flavorful. The service overall was great. This was exactly what we were in the mood for. We will definitely be back here!

Yelp
I placed an online order this afternoon. I got the Hawaiin-ish bowl with Korean chicken and bang bang sauce. My husband got the lemongrass bowl with chicken and the pineapple fish sauce. We both got the garlic rice. Our food was delicious and everything tasted so fresh. The chicken was of a good quality and tender. I am a huge fan of macaroni salad and I loved the scoop of Hawaiin mac salad that came with the Hawaiin-ish bowl. We really enjoyed this and will order again soon!

Yelp
I hate to give this place a less than a 5-star review, but I think the owners need to know where they are falling short so that they can sustain constant customer flow and not go back to where they were prior to social media hype. First of all, I am a local and have visited Okonomi before it's TikTok fame, and it was a much cleaner and more pleasant place with a better and personable customer service. Upon my recent visit, I was very disappointed to find a place to be less than clean. The floors were sticky, there were dirty trash cans on display right in the cooking area behind the counters, and the place desperately needed ventilating. Second, customer service was condescending. There was nobody at the store, and the person kept ordering us to go back and forth their ordering line although we knew what we wanted and there was no reason for us to go back to the end of the other end of the store. We did not know we were supposed to place an online order. Apparently, in busier times, you can't get the food otherwise, but we were served anyway because the place is empty. The food was good.

Yelp
I have been dying to see an Asian fusion place that serves fresh food like Chipotle the way you want it done... The flavors are delicate and thoughtful and nothing is done without intentionality. You pick a base and protein add the toppings of your choice. There is also a choice of 2 different sauces... pineapple fish sauce and sriracha mayo. My favorite combo is garlic fried rice with lemongrass pork. You have to get every topping unless you have allergies... I loved the pineapple fish sauce and covered the whole bowl! I know that they are working on releasing a Banh Mi sandwich soon... I literally am dying with anticipation... I'll be back as soon as their Banh Mi is available. They are still brand new and hiring (in case you need a job)... so the food is made to order for now. It'll soon go towards chipotle when all the proteins are ready to be scooped in... Come try it out with family and friends!
