This place is incredible. I have hip and back pain and left pain free. Michael treated t the first time and was fantastic. Mei treated me this last time and hit all the trigger points releasing my muscles. They were very accommodating and know what they are doing. Looking forward to going back.

Mei and Michael are both friendly and amazing at what they do. I have some really bad knots from not having had a massage for years and Michael did such a great job that I returned the following week for more. He truly is the Master! I'm a loyal customer now. Bought the sessions in bulk. Will be coming regularly!

Better therapists and work on your hospitality charm. The two people there were too busy on their phones and the facial was no facial more like a face massage...

Our masseuses were talking the entire hour of our couple massage. No music. Chatting in the normal tone, not whispering. Laughing (i hope not at us). Very awkward experience..

Definite emphasis on BODY WORK! Came here for a couples deep tissue massage and I can say this may not be the massage you want, but definitely the massage you need!!! If anyone gets Naruto, it felt like Neji was using his Byakugan and pressing all of my chakra points lol! And my partner felt like Lady Tsunade was both painfully gripping and healing his body. Awesome work and will definitely be coming back again when we're in town!

Two tired tourists tried taming tormented toes, triumphantly! We opted for 75 minutes of mixed body massage and reflexology at 8:30pm after a long day of walking around NYC. It was AMAZING. The massage therapists were skilled and clearly took pride in finding all the spots that really needed to get worked out. We were so happy that we came back 2 night later for a repeat. HIGHLY recommended!

Mei is a genius. I've been living with a chronic back problem for three years, and in one hour with Mei I feel about 60 percent better. She's extremely knowledgeable about the body, and though she can do very deep tissue massage she will ask you if it's too much and ease up if you need her to. So grateful to have found this place.

Absolutely incredible gem of a spot, I managed to get worked on by the Asian owner gentleman (Michael?) who apparently has been doing this for ~20 years. For those not familiar with how the massage curriculum works, there's a large swath of massage schools that basically churn out people who do a suite of XYZ massages in a one-size-fit-all sorta fashion, kinda like the fast food of massage -- things are cheap and serviceable and often these practices are tied to Chinese massage parlors. So this place is NOT that - all the practioners here have been therapists for years, are active in the community, and excellent all-around masseuses with a great understanding of body mechanics. Just go get a massage and you'll see for yourself. :) It's got incredible value and works wonders for you!

Been going to this location for 2+ years now. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. From reflexology to traditional acupuncture this is the go to spot. Rather in the city for a quick massage or for your needs this definitely the go to place! They helped heal a lot of my deep rooted tight muscles! Michael is the best! Shoutout to Okuyama family!

Mei was truly amazing. She found knots that I've had for legit 10+ years and spent so much time working on them and really focusing on all the right spots that no other masseuse has ever been able to find. Highly recommend if you like super deep tissue massages in a no frills environment.

Called last minute and was able to get an appointment for an hour later! No wait when I got there either . I went in for back pain and got their 60 minute massage for $60, and it was so amazing. I didn't catch my masseuses name but he did such an amazing job finding where I was tight and releasing all the pressure . The staff is also super super welcoming and kind, and the place has a very comfortable home style feel. This place is such a hidden gem I can't recommend more for traditional massage

This place is a hidden gem! The price is great and the quantity of the massage is 5 stars! It's not fancy like a spa but it's very clean. They have 2 massage therapists now. I had Mei who specializes in medical massages. She knows exactly where to push and gives the perfect pressure. You can tell that she really knows what she's doing and she understands how the body works. They are priced extremely well, the place is clean and they provide to quality massages! Definitely 10 stars!!!!

I got a 60 minute massage for $60. And as a 1st time customer, I got a discount for checking in and writing a Yelp review! While it was not exactly a relaxing massage, it was one I needed -- really strong, good pressure! Mei pointed out all the tense areas accurately and worked out a lot of my knots! I scheduled my appointment by phone, and we started as soon as I arrived. It's definitely a no frills massage place. I could hear muffled pop music through the walls but didn't mind the noise.

A brand new massage Centre from Okuyama. My husband and I both had massages together in their couple suite which was very nicely lit up and most importantly clean. We left feeling like new-borns. Michael truly knows what he was doing and relieved all the knots in my shoulder and neck. Needless to say, we'll be back soon.

I stumbled upon this place after a grueling work trip. This place is the real deal! He worked out so many knots in 1 hour and even used hot stones on me for free. I wish I had a place like this in LA. I would go weekly. The price is so cheap (tip big) and you leave feeling like a new person If you don't like strong massages or want a very spa like environment, this is not for you. But if you want a therapeutic deep massage and are ok with the quirks of a cheaper massage place, you will not be disappointed. Honestly, I'll probably go there every time I come to NYC

I had a great experience at Okuyama SPA today. Highly recommend this place. Simple yet Warm Decoration When I went into the room, I was amazed of how spacious and clean it was compared with the other places I have been to before. I like the way the towels properly folded and that the light was not too bright nor too dark. The smells from the cute aroma diffuser made me feel very relaxed, physically and mentally. There is also body massage oil available if you would like to use (I chose lavender! It smells nice and feels great!) Professional & Trust worthy Massager I had problem in sleeping and my back hurt for weeks. Micheal diagnosed my situation and quickly found the knots on my back and shoulders. His hand pressure is just perfect, making me feel like right to the point. The special technique Called "acupressure", a technique from Japan, is beyond amazing. He used this technique, because I specially asked for a solution on the soreness on my legs after exercises. My legs and feet feel so greatly revived after. He also stood on my back at the end, the little deep breaths I had one after another made me feel totally rejuvenated. I had been to so many other massage places in Manhattan. Michael is the best! If you would like any kind of massages, especially deep tissue massage, you don't want to miss this place!

If you're used to fancy high end massages (aesthetics, professionalism, cleanliness) then this is not the place for you... if you just want a deep tissue massage where they hit all the right areas - you probably didn't think you needed work on- then this is the place to go! This place is definitely a hidden gem. When you first arrive you're probably going to be like wtf is this- but when you get in and settle down you'll be like ok this isn't bad. For $60 an hour you can't really beat this!!! The lady worked on me and she knew exactly where my body needed attention, and was able to crack areas that needed attention. Would come again when I'm here.

My number one go to massage place. Michael and May are AMAZING, they always tailor the session to what I need and want. They offer body massage, foot massage, acupuncture, hot stones, chiropractor massage. The place is nice and clean as well. I highly highly recommend Okuyama!!

So, you know how you'll be wandering around the city, and all these random signs proclaiming that they have good massage deals make you wonder which ones are legitimate? Okay well, this one is. Okuyama is no-frills and a great value for the price. It's not going to be a relaxing Swedish massage; rather, this experience is going to be reflexology, akin to a deep, therapeutic sports massage. Mei is hilarious, diligent, and shockingly strong. She immediately picks up on where your body holds tension, and what areas need work. She's respectful of what parts of your body you'd like for her to work on. I know some people like the walking on back thing, so Mei will do that for you if you want that. Mei worked wonders on my tight back, neck, and shoulders. I'm curious to go back and request trigger point massages specific to my past injuries and problem areas. As a woman, even if you get one of the male masseuses, they are incredibly respectful of boundaries, and felt quite safe. Okuyama will accommodate couples massages as well as individual. I'd recommend calling ahead for an appointment. They do take credit cards, which is really nice.

I have been to a lot of massage places in NYC, and this is the best. Michael is very experienced and has done wonders for a tight back. He is an expert in Japanese massage, Gua Sha, Chinese herb, and hot stone massage. I highly recommend him!

Love this place so much that I almost don't want to leave a review. Michael is so great and goes above and beyond to make sure you leave feeling great! Never have I received such a comprehensive massage. I had a knot in my neck that was bothering me for a week (to the point where I couldn't turn my head all the way to the side), but I left being able to turn my head all the way. He's a magic worker with magic hands and I'll definitely be back consistently!

Not a fancy place but really unties the knots in my body. May and Michael are very knowledgeable and very helpful, and the pressure they use is unlike most western "relaxing" spas, where they just dance around your muscles. They really know the pressure points and they have strong hands. Would recommend if you don't mind stronger massages.

Michael is amazing. His gift of knowing exactly where the pain is and relieving it is unreal! I am a musician and so is he, and I walked in there so tight and after he was done with me, I walked out of there a changed person with such relief. This place is a hidden gem in WV and very reasonably priced for massages. The staff are friendly, do a great job relieving tension and take multiple approaches to break up stubborn knots. If you're comfortable with pressure, they'll apply a lot of it. They do accept walk-ins but your best bet is to call in advance to reserve a time since they only have a few beds.
