Their sandwiches were off the chart, you have to try their Ruben! Staff is really friendly too! Cool place to chill after a Guardians game.

There was no wait for a table and I could see why. After 25+ minutes at a table, in a nearly empty restaurant, the server only came one with water. She passed our table many times actively avoiding us. She never once asked us if we wanted to order.

We were walking down W 25th and saw Old Angle Tavern from the windows facing the street. It looked like a relaxed place that had some people in it, but wasn't overlying crowded so we strolled in. I'm glad we did! We sat at the bar and were greeted by a friendly bartender. After some light conversation, we ordered some food. I got some wings that really hit the spot! They have a great Buffalo sauce that's flavorful and spicy. And they're ranch dipping sauce is clearly made in house...I've never had ranch that was that buttery and tasty! My dining companion enjoyed his salad and soup as well. Great atmosphere and music too! I'll be back!

Google
From the solid beer selection to the incredible food, our experience exceeded expectations. We went to watch a Cavs game on a Saturday afternoon and this was one of the only places we could find that had the audio on, moreover they had multiple screens to view. At its core is a tried and true soccer pub but it also caters to Cleveland sports. As a bonus, it has the vibe of a medieval castle with incredible customer service. As someone who works for the industry, I can confidently say we had two of the friendliest bartenders I've ever met. If you are looking for a spot to watch a game this is your place. Highly recommend the wings and shepherd's pie and 11/10 will return to try their mac & cheese. Cheers!

Google
Are you effing kidding me?!? This place ROCKED my 3rd immigrant Irish SOCKS off! I was driving through Cleveland looking for the best Dive Bar food, ended up next door at ABC (which is fun don’t get me wrong, but it was too overstimulating) and wandered over here and wow I’m so glad I did. The Lamb Stew is 12/10, the Steak Tip Sandwich and fries were 11/10, staff and patrons as welcoming as can be. There’s a lot of fancy spots on this strip of fine Cleveland land, but do not miss out on this (or do, your loss, regulars gain).

I keep an ongoing list of my favorite bars, and this will be added to it. We walked in and my husband got to talk Orioles with the guy sitting next to him at the bar, and I got to talk about food with the guy sitting on the other side of me. The bartenders were wonderful and everyone was so happy to give a couple of tourists recommendations.Absolutely loved this place.

Google
One of the best places in the Cleveland area for a proper pint and some football action on the television. Matty makes sure everyone is taken care of. Great food and beer make this a must visit when in Ohio City

Google
This place was very nice and they had fast and attentive employees. No complaints whatsoever. The food portions were huge, so it's definitely your place if you like well seasoned fries. The fish and burger were to die for. 10/10

Yelp
THE best burgers in town, I'm not kidding. Great Guinness, burgers, fries. This is a great Irish bar/restaurant which leans heavily towards soccer, rugby or any Cleveland game. MATT IS THE BEST BARTENDER EVER!!
google avatar

Melanie M.

Yelp
Matty was phenomenal! He made my friend's Birthday dinner 10/10. He knew exactly how to keep the party going. The food was good, what you would expect from a bar. My quesadilla was the perfect portion and the cheese was melty. Edit to add: I think they were missing a crafted cocktail menu. I think this location could really benefit from having a few good specialty cocktails!

Yelp
Came here on a recent weeknight during an outing in the Ohio City district. We were looking for some basic pub grub and a spot for grabbing a beer and this place checked those marks for us. We settled in to a low-top table and the bar server came over for both drink and food orders. Beers started flowing (Yay! They had Smithwicks on tap!) and grub orders headed to the kitchen. Two of us ordered their fish-n-chips...how could you not, in an Irish pub style bar...and the third a Reuben sandwich. My basket of fish-n-chips were plump, juicy and (beyond) piping hot but unfortunately the batter lacked flavor. I did like their tartar sauce because it included dill, even if it was on the thin side from a consistency perspective. The fresh cut fries were seasoned well and semi-crispy. Their cole slaw was rather tasteless and rough chop cut, so I did not care for it all that much. All in all, a very decent pub style meal with enough menu options to choose from and a reasonable offering of on-tap beers to choose from.

Yelp
Some of my favorite wings in all of the Cleveland area. They always hit just right. If you like to watch soccer, this is a great place to watch a game.

Yelp
We stopped in based on the recommendation of another local business. From the moment we walked in, the bar tender(also our waiter and possibly the owner) made us feel welcomed. While serving, we would get into little conversations with him and he took a group photo of us. The food portions were large and the meat was tender and delicious. With all of the restaurant options around this area, i will choose to re-visit The Old Angle soon

Yelp
Tried this place on Monday which is wing night $1.25 each for wing dings , not a super good deal but I guess it's ok for a taste, my boyfriend placed an order of 6 and also got the roast beef sandwich, I ordered the house burger plus a beer , I had to take mine home became midway through my belly felt unreasonably swollen for just a few bites maybe it was the beer ,the bartender was attentive enough being that it was only him...nothing too fancy about the place typical Irish pub. I was thinking since we live around the corner they would be ok for a quick go to until I found a long piece of metal in my food!! Old Angle how dare you, I'm very disappointed. Never again Very very unacceptable, what if I didn't pay attention and swallowed it ?? Could of ruined my life

Yelp
One of the only good bars on 25th. Good place to grab a proper pint of Guiness! The food is outstanding. Highly recommend the steak salad and the buffalo wings. I have not had a bad meal. You can order anything from the menu and not go wrong.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. Great service! We only drank this time but will go back for food! Football on tv. Cheers all around.

Yelp
Was looking for dinner on Saturday after work and before a CIM concert and downtown was crazy with the Guardians playoff game so I figured on grabbing something in Ohio City; of course the parking was crazy but I found street parking a couple of blocks off the main drag and walked to the Old Angle Tavern which I had been meaning to try. Walking in I was surprised since I was expecting an older bar, instead it was a clean modern space with a bar on the inside wall and some tables and booths. I was seated at the bar and ordered off the menu using the QR code. The menu is compact and focused, but there was fish and chips so I was happy. The food came up very quickly, hot and fresh. Two nice sized fillets of cod with a nice batter crust, a large portion of fries and a small cup of slaw. The fish was fresh and mild, well cooked, the fries and slaw were both good if nothing special. There were a couple of nice touches that helped to elevate the meal; the fish was topped with some coarse sea salt that gave a nice flavor pop and the ketchup was made in house with some little chunks of tomatoes. Overall a very nice fish and chips. I do have to shout out the staff that night; they were clearly short handed and business was picking up, yet they kept hustling to keep up and had a great attitude. Nice to see and much appreciated. The Old Angle Tavern is a great place to grab a drink and/or some good food. Great location in the middle of W.25th Street in Ohio City. Not as high profile as some of the nearby places, but nothing wrong with a well done classic.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday morning during a soccer game. Very soccer heavy atmosphere. Different but fun! Good service and food! I had the corned beef!

Roz H.

Yelp
Yummy pretzel bites! Great music and multiple TVs to watch a game. Super friendly people. Love this place for a drink, good food and hometown feel.

Yelp
Went back like I said I would. Service was awesome. I cease there for lunch. This time I went for the Sheppard Pie. I now have a go to comfort food.

Alejandra E.

Yelp
Wonderful, delicious food and drinks! The service was top notch, they were shorthanded that day but you wouldn't know it. Bartender and waiter were kind and always helpful...always smiling! The food was delicious, came out hot and oh so generous portions! Love the place!

Yelp
Stopped here for a date night. Such a cozy little place. I love the fireplace and somehow the combo of 1960's Naugahyde and faux medieval stonework is great. Basically it's an Irish Pub in atmosphere and menu. I had the lamb stew which was hearty and tasty. Big chunks of stew meat with all the veggies and a savory gravy. Served with a baguette for soaking up all that delicious gravy. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Street parking or there is the Market lot across the street. Seemed like they get a regular crowd later in the evening. Great meeting up kind of vibe.

Yelp
Being a Monday, it was difficult to find an open bar in this area. We waited a few minutes for this place to open (I think it was 4:00). My boyfriend wanted Guiness on draft, and this Irish bar was just what we were looking for. The bartender (she has been there for 20 years) was personable and we enjoyed the 80s music with accompanying videos on one screen. I was hungry, and ordered the great Craig veggie grilled sandwich (I asked for added pesto) that came with fries that had a fantastic seasoning. Our bartender told us it was Old Bay. I would totally order this plate again.

Yelp
Great old time bar in 25th street area that balances out all its trendy nearby restaurants/bars. Good Irish food and beer. Crowd is a bunch of fun loving people both young and old.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
Fantastic pub! If you are into Premier League football, this is where you need to be! The craft beer selections could be better, but they have a good IPA and some English beer on tap, so you won't go thirsty. The food options are fantastic as well. Try the pulled pork sandwich. It will leave you full and happy. Can't recommend this place enough

Yelp
Just arrived in town with five girlfriends for girls weekend and this was our first stop ! Came across the nicest bartender we have met in a very long time, Matt is the bomb and we appreciated his hospitality. He drinks and beers are amazing and very reasonably priced !
google avatar

Jaafar M.

Yelp
Awesome Irish pub vibes going on, we weren't sure if the food and service were going to be able to live up. The food 100% matched the vibe and decor of the pub. We had the wings and corn beef sandwich, which were both amazing. The service was top notch, especially since we were visiting with a young child. Thank you to the entire staff for making our experience enjoyable.

David N.

Yelp
Overall, I had a good experience. The building is cozy and clean. The staff was very friendly and upbeat. My corned beef sandwich was decent, but the bread was a bit on the dry side and beef was as well. The fries were excellent and I could have eaten more of them. I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
They have a good corn beef sandwich and great Guinness pours. This has a very classic pub type feel with many regulars attending to watch various sports games.
google avatar

Anastasia J.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance are incredible. Old Angle is one of my new favorites in Ohio City.

Yelp
What a fantastic bar - everything a good bar should be. Great and friendly service, great beers, good atmosphere and English football on tap. Paradise.

Yelp
Quintessential British pub experience in Cleveland. A friend who frequently visits London was immediately impressed with the British pub inspired food menu items. The drink selection is varied, you'll be able to find something for everyone to drink. For vegetarians- menu options are limited, as expected from a British pub. They have mac and cheese, grilled cheese, and veggie quesadillas. I had the veggie quesadilla and it was tasty. If you're a soccer fan, this is the official home of the Tottenham Hotspur (an English premier league team based in North London) so they're always open for Spurs game, and it draws a decent following. Kitchen opens at noon, so what's nice is that if you're there earlier, the owner does not mind if you bring in your own food. Super friendly staff, an outdated but old British looking scene, solid food. Go Spurs!

Kris K.

Yelp
We stopped by for dinner on our way back home and were pleasantly surprised! Joe was our server and was phenomenal! I mean the service was absolutely incredible! He was attentive and punctual with our requests. Truly refreshing to receive such great service!

Yelp
First time there for an 11:30a soccer match. Doors open right at 11. Very friendly staff. Full bar service. Coffee also. Picked this location to watch the match with friends. According to pictures, they have a full menu, so asked bar about ordering. Was told no kitchen until 12p. OK. I understand. Went back at noon, was told still no kitchen. By now, we're well into 2nd half of match. Is the expectation that people show up and just drink through an hour and half through a match? Meanwhile, restaurants around the pub are fully open and serving food. People were bringing pizza and ice cream from outside, into the pub to eat. As the game is nearing the end, I see orders being served. I get that help is hard to find, and I am grateful and appreciate small businesses, but I wonder how much money was missed by not even serving small apps from the open? Neat ambiance and environment, but next time I will watch the game at home where I can drink AND eat.

Yelp
Great traditional Irish pub with all of the usual beer offerings. Great bartenders and staff. Seriously one of the best fish and chips I have had. Loved the hand cut fries with pepper!
google avatar

Amanda P.

Yelp
Love this place! Great for catching soccer matches. Irish pub food, great kitchen. The staff are friendly and recognize familiar faces. This is an EPL supporters bar, and the energy levels can get high! If noisy supporters bug you, there are lots of choices down the street :) ThIs is my favorite soccer bar because they open for every match! During 2018 world cup, the customers were overflowing into the sidewalk, it is quite the experience! And the environment is very lively and positive. This is a bar where you will hear supporters sing their team songs back and forth. This is not an environment where the customers fight or get aggressive with each other. This is a place that has called Ubers for drunk customers and loaded them in the car (I saw it, folks). This is a place where you can post up and binge watch soccer, Cavs, Indians. Tip accordingly!! I have been coming here for years with my husband, with my friends. I will be coming for many more years to come. Food ideas, look at the menu, you can't go wrong! I personally love the craic head sandwich and the buffalo pesto wings. Mac n cheese is great. People LOVE the fish (not my thing).

Yelp
This is hands down the best soccer bar cleveland has to offer. It is a hidden gem on west 25th and has some of the most authentic Irish fare around. I come here once a month on Saturday or Sunday to watch English premiere league, bundesliga, la liga or any sporting event. Usually visiting the West side market before or after eating. The open around 10, maybe earlier, but they only serve beer. The kitchen opens around 12 or 1230, at least on the weekends.the beer selection has the classics and some craft choices like fat heads or great lakes. Food-wise, I have never had a bad meal. The buffalo basil chicken wings have outstanding flavor. The fries are always cooked to perfection, hand cut, come with house made ketchup and are generous in portion. All the sauces are made from scratch as far as I know. The craic head sandwich and the grilled cheese are reasonable prices, and consistently delicious. No need to order extra fries with either one. Even the mac and cheese is great, with a ton of cheese and very filling. If you are looking for a soccer bar with fish and chips, shepherd's pie, or bangers and mash this is the place to be. I would not bring kids here for a soccer game, unless you are fine with a roudy pub atmosphere. It is dimly lit but it scream authentic Irish pub. There is a warm fire place, plenty of big screens, and they always have sports on, like a sports bar should. The service is world class as well. If you see a guy in a green old angle shirt walking around, he makes this place go. Come for the soccer, stay for the food and keep it our secret! Supporters of any club welcome.

Yelp
We did not have a chance to try food while we were here as we arrived late on a Saturday evening. The staff was polite and we had a good time watching some basketball for a few drinks. Overall, the Old Angle Tavern is just a solid choice in Ohio City if you need a chill bar to hang out. The scene will likely be a little quieter than some of the other locations in this strip of bars.
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
It is a great neighborhood bar. 4 years ago, I deducted a star for dirty bathrooms. They've cleaned them and they don't stink anymore. The food was surprisingly good. I finally ate here, before I just drank. I wanted to take all the stuff from a sandwich (vegan), the guy wouldn't fill the order. He said it would be bad. He made me a veggie quesadilla instead and it was terrific. I was hangry so I ordered fries. Cooked in pig fat, still want them? No. And thank you. 5 stars for service, honesty, and clean renewed bathrooms. The food/drinks are good too.
google avatar

Emma Y.

Yelp
We came here to watch the Euro cup and it was so much fun. They have excellent food- the Lamb Stew and Wings are amazing - and the Guinness on tap is so so good. Service is great and just a good place to be !
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Matty was the best! We were out-of-towners, but he made us feel right at home. Perfect place to watch EPL. Love that there were so many Man City fans in Cleveland. And Spurs fans were very entertaining. Loved the songs! Clean pub. Good food. Excellent and friendly service. Will definitely go back next time I'm in Cleveland. Hey, Matt, if you ever move to Louisville, bring your pub with you! Cheers!
google avatar

Leslie N.

Yelp
Great service here despite coming during an Ohio State game! This is definitely a sports bar more than anything else, but drink prices are decent ($6/beer, for most) and their menu is great for lunch and dinner. There are plenty of TVs so you can get a good view of whatever game you're coming to watch. Portions here are really good for the price, and the fries are delicious! Service was also super fast. I think I'll try coming here more often, but perhaps not on a huge game night.
google avatar

Erin D.

Yelp
The grilled cheese was fantastic. I have no words LOL! I believe it was only $8, and you got a hearty, big sandwich with amazing fries. The fries were crispy and deep fried to perfection. The cheese was ooey gooey, which is a technical term and a must-have when you're eating any kind of melted cheese. Of course, just to top it off, there was a pickle served with the sandwich, yum! The ordering process was pretty easy. Even though there were about 150 people at the bar (no joke), there was no line to wait. You go to back where there's a counter, order, and the guy tells you to return in about 10 minutes. My sandwich was ready on time, as promised. I did not buy my drinks, but I did stick with vodka sunrises all night. They were refreshing in flavor, but not too fruity. I don't like it when cocktails are made with so little alcohol OR you can't taste the alcohol (which can be dangerous!). These cocktails were made on point though. I wouldn't mind returning again!

Yelp
Tasty salad and Irish lamb stew. Friendly, efficient service. Nice neighborhood find.
google avatar

Anj B.

Yelp
We stopped in here for dinner with kids. This was not the place for that type of party...lol. We're not from the area. Anywho, there service is on point and efficient. The house salad is very good. We ordered chicken wings, chicken strips and burgers. The food was very good. However, it's extremely loud. We kinda laughed and used that as an excuse to phone zone. I would recommend a drop in.
google avatar

Karen R.

Yelp
If you are into friendly corner bars with unexpectedly good, fresh food instead of fried bar food, this is your place. The ambience and charm of a corner bar with upscale, farm to table food . The prices may be a little pricier than what you might expect from a divey sort of corner bar, but oh so worth it. This place is clean, comfy and friendly serving some great dishes like lobster roll, homemade meatloaf, deconstructed pork shank tacos and many more. Do yourself a favor when in the W. 25 area and walk in here. You will be greeted with a friendly smile and some darn decent food.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Best place in Cleveland to watch soccer and enjoy drinks and food with friends!!!! Love watching Manchester United! Super fun and hardworking staff! Tvs are incredible! Great seating! Definitely will start to be a regular!!! Thank you Old Angle!!! Cheers!
google avatar

Marc I.

Yelp
A decent place to grab a pint in and relax. What makes this place great is that they show a variety of soccer (English football) matches. Staff was very friendly especially when they found out I was visiting from out of town. I caught a Liverpool vs United match on a Sat and the atmosphere as great. Would have liked the tee to be a bit louder though. A negative is that they don't serve breakfast despite opening the doors for a 9am match, so you have to sit around till 11am. Free coffee is a nice touch though.

Yelp
We were bar crawling in Ohio City recently when we looked across the street at the Old Angle Tavern. Since we had never been there, we decided to venture into the unknown and we were pleasantly surprised. The waiter and bartender was super funny and friendly and he's from Parma, just like me. The beer selection was good and surprisingly, the Wit beer I ordered came in a can, but was really delicious. I love Wheat beer! We didn't try any food, but we learned that there is a Sunday soccer club that meets here to watch games. That sounds fun. The basement is cool and rentable. The Old Angle has medieval or castle theme going on, which we liked. I can't wait to go back for a full meal! Love the friendly, unassuming, down to earth atmosphere.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
Awesome place! Joe is the best! We will be back just bc of him. I was unsure of what I wanted so I told him my mood. Perfection!
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Steak salad was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly! The D'Angle sandwich was huge, enough for two people or leftovers!

Yelp
I am loving The Old Angle! The man & I have been here several times in the past, but usually on Saturday mornings at the cusp of being too early for a drink. Always the same bartender, Matt, is there and & he's super nice, helpful. Great bloody Mary's here, and great beer. This is a European pub to be sure. Football (SOCCER) is always on the telly. Old Speckled Hen and Bass is on tap and well of course, Guinness! A few weeks ago we were starving, post run, and post shopping at the West Side Market and decided to order some food. OMG! The Potato Leek Soup was outta sight. (Yep, I said "outta sight"). The man ordered the D'Angle which is their version of a Reuben and Holy Corned Beef! That was the best corned beef I've EVER, EVER had!!! The fries are great too. I ordered the Grilled Cheese which had tomato & bacon on it. YUM!! YUM!!! I had the Guinness Battered Onion Rings and those were excellent too, especially with the Guinness mustard. They have some great vegetarian options, and of course the traditional "Bangers & Mash" to go w/ the theme of the bar. I suggest you head your hiney over & go get some great food & booze!

Juanita B.

Yelp
Good atmosphere & waiter was great. Food was delicious, large portions & quick service

Yelp
If you're going to the old anger tavern, make sure you wear a soccer scarf and jersey or else they won't wait on you. This staff continuously passed by my empty drink on the bar in favor of serving the hooligans sitting next to me. Kitchen wasn't open but they were out of half of the stuff anyhow. One star review. Avoid at all costs.

Courtney G.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and tonight has been my favorite experience. Larry is a true gentleman. Old Angle is blessed to have him. Love you, goodnight
google avatar

Yelp
I love Mac & Cheese and this is one of the best takes on Mac & cheese. It was delicious and the portion size was huge. I was unable to finish all of the noodles. Honestly, I am going to go back for this dish alone. Beyond the food the service is great. The waiter was very attentive to us despite having a large crowd.
