Unfortunately I was disappointed about this place. I don’t know if it is the period or maybe we went the wrong Saturday, but there were not a big variety of fresh produce. It was mostly clothes, accessories etc. To find a parking spot was not that hard. There is a big parking lot near by. Be aware walking there during summer is very hard. The heat is very intense

This is one of my favorite things to do on Saturdays! One of my favorite booths is Rome With Love - they have the BEST olive & feta bread. The cheddar jalapeño pretzels from Staz-a-licious Bakery are SO good for sandwiches. You won’t be disappointed by anything from either of these two places. I also bought a gorgeous crystal (rainbow fluorite) from a very nice seller in the grassy area.

Great Farmers Market, has everything you want. The vendors are very nice.

This market is only on Saturdays and it's fairly difficult to find parking so it may be better to park further and walk here. However, once you get there, it's great. It's one of the bigger famer's markets I've seen. They have everything from small business wares, to fruits and vegetables, pet supplies, meats, cheeses, breads, you name it! It can get pretty packed so be aware of that. Pets are allowed. Good place to bring kids. There's a big stage where they had a live performance going on too.

It was fun visiting Farmers Market. It's my first time coming here, and we enjoyed every vendor they have to offer. They had fresh vegetables, healthy pies, and baked goods, plants, organic vinegar, and oil, I love the organic soap for men. I bought six different flavor soaps for my son and husband. They even have doggie treats for the furbabies. We got there late and didn't have enough time to visit all the vendors. But I would love to stop by again the next time we fly to Virginia.

This has quickly become my something my husband and I do several times a month. We ride our bikes over and shop for some things and have a few things that we love to get every week or so. We grab a coffee nearby, shop, listen to some music across the street at the Eco mart and enjoy the vintage market once a month as well. There are some seriously talented vendors here selling their wares to include floral, tea, buns, ice cream, a butcher, plants and succulents, tons of fresh veggies, and various other items that rotate from week to week. It is small and feels intimate and can sometimes be very crowded and sell out quick - but sometimes not, so give it a shot. Usually a few food trucks are out front and you can always stop and support one of the local businesses like Java Surf, BadAss Coffee, Three Ships or Pink Dingy.

Yelp
I've been to a lot of the markets in the area but this one is absolutely my favorite market. Old Beach Farmers Market is located in the vibe district of Virginia Beach near the convention center (18th street). They are open every Saturday 9-noon (May-Oct) and every 3rd Saturday 9-noon (Nov-April). This is also a pet friendly market. Parking is street parking or there is a small free parking lot nearby. Old Beach farmers market has over 30 vendors each weekend. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, seafood, flowers, cheese, mushrooms, sauces, baked goods, tea and much more. You can even find a food truck. Some of my favorite Vendors are: Capstone Mushrooms, they always have a great selection of Oyster mushrooms (blue, pink, gold, king) , beech, Chestnut, lions Mane and shiitake. They sell grow kits if you want to try your hand at growing your own as well as extracts and blends you can add to your soups, sauces or drinks. Life is Gouda, they sell a variety of cheese based spreads. My favorite is the smoked gouda. It goes great with crackers, celery and carrots, a must try! Cromwell's Produce & Fritillary farm is my go to for fresh produce. This market does have a few produce vendors to choose from but I frequent these two the most. They always have fresh greens and fruits that are in season. Nick B's Chimichurri sells absolutely the best chimichurri sauce. It has a long shelf life and doesn't need to be refrigerated. This Sauce goes great on everything, steak, chicken, fish, lamb, even a chip. I find the prices to be very reasonable and comparable to the large chains. Definitely recommend stopping by and supporting small business and local farmers.

Yelp
Great farmers market, they're still selling their wonderful produce, articles and items and serving their breakfast sandwiches, pastries, etc etc. love it here where you're close by to other activities like on 11/4 there was skateboarding just a few steps away. Definitely a must visit and support our local farmers and entrepreneurs!

Yelp
They have really grown over the years. They have a variety. Fresh bread, beautiful plants, wonderful fresh veggies, and different areas selling meat and seafood. My favorite is the local honey, The tea guy, called www.overachievingtea.com . and the Hot sauce guy called Speedys. There are so many stand, It changes and everything is always wonderful. I Love doing gift shopping with the unique stands with jewelry, pottery, paintings, handmade items and it is always changing. Some of the same people are there but I have noticed if I see something I want I grab it because things sell fast. It is all outside and there is music with real musicians. What a wonderful vibe.

Yelp
Great farmers market that is open year-round! So many great stands, from produce to prepared foods, to produce to local boutique shopping. Parking can be a little crazy, but the convention center parking lot is close by and easy. There wasn't one thing that I wasn't impressed by and can't wait to become a farmers market regular! Recommend: Smoked Gouda Dip Joysicles (the cantaloupe mint) Virginia Pie Co Hand Pies MAD seasoning

Yelp
Love love love love love! I've visited once before but had a great time today at the Old Beach Farmer's Market meeting new people, seeing entrepreneurs in action, and enjoying natural and locally made items supporting the local economy and finding tons of health options. This market is simple and small but has nearly everything you could need with some meats, seafood, ice cream (Lolly's), coffee (Three Ships), veggies (New Earth Farm), succulents, fresh flower displays, micro greens, teas, olive oil, snacks, breads, lotions and soaps and other items. These items are sourced and made locally and focus on healthy and sustainable living/eating. Love! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. And there is an easy vibe (har har, see what I did there) for locals and tourists alike sampling items and asking questions. It's in the ViBe creative district and so is close to tons of other options for shopping such as Java Surf Cafe, Bad Ass Coffee, Beach Bully BBQ, The Ships Coffee Roasters, North End Bag, Jars of Dust Pottery, etc. My friend and I also walked across the street into the park and looked around at the 20 or so vendors in the craft market and had a great time looking at hand-made wall art, locally sewn and made bags and clothing, as well as a ton of pottery and crafts. Such a great day. You will not regret a visit to this small, but thriving Farmer's Market. Most places offer a discount if you bring back the glasses your items are purchased in.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite Farmers Market. If you have never been you have to check it out. There is plenty of parking in nearby parking lots. You can get everything you need at this market. Meat, seafood, bread, coffee, cheese, pastries, jams, peanut butter and of course veggies and fruits. Starting in April it's every Saturday from 9-12. You gotta get some Smoked Gouda dip.....I call it Crack dip. Cromwells veggies are awesome. Everything is local and fresh. Don't forget to bring your bags. They have music playing and everyone is just so nice. It's a great vibe (yes I did that on purpose). A food truck is there too. And you can get your knives sharpened while eating a meat pop. Then walk across the street and listen to live music while shopping. Clothes, jewelry, art, etc etc. Support local and check it out....you won't regret it.

Yelp
Small but Lovely little farmer's market in VA Beach vibe district. Offers anything from local honey, vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, crepes, knife sharpening, fresh breakfast options, fresh baked breads etc.... Prices are reasonable, and people are very friendly. Bring your pet, family, and enjoy a stroll through the market!

Yelp
A Saturday morning beach tradition for decades. I personally have been a dozen times, or more. It's great vibe with neighborhood folk, dogs and children strolling. For me it feels good to know your supporting local farmers and businesses directly with your purchases. Located in the Crocs 19th Street Bistro parking lot in the Virginia Beach Vibe District at 19th street. They were bigger and apparently no longer have use of the road which they would close down for 4 hours or so. However, they pack a ton in. On my last visit over 20 vendors were present. The market operates on Saturdays mid May to mid September 8-12. Parking is around off street and and a few parking lots. There is no garage parking, but the good news it's all free. The area has some construction going on and a few sidewalks are closed. A few vendors of note on my last visit were New Earth Farm, Flour Child Bakery, Three Ships Coffee & Speedys Hot Sauce. Be prepared to sample the goods and enjoy. Most vendors take credit cards too! Bring the family and come on down to the Vibe District a few blocks off the Oceanfront for an eclectic mix of local merchandise that directly supports our economy.

Yelp
Can't believe that I'm just now checking this out! A fresh Farmer's Market at the beach, (open Saturdays in the summer, only from 9am - noon) located near Crocs and Bad Ass coffee. Find a parking spot and get to walking, eating, and shopping! It's not huge but I honestly was surprised and impressed by the vendor selection. In the grassy area across Crocs, was more of the non-edible goodies - clothing, accessories, art. The area beside Bad Ass was for food and drinks. Some of the ones there today, 7/7/2018: Doughminion Donuts Pelon's Joysicles Creative wedge My Vegan Sweet Tooth Green Cat Three Ships Coffee A place that sells fresh bread, pastries, meat, veggies, fruits, handmade this, handmade that, AND has fresh eggs frying and sausage being grilled up (I kinda wanted a fresh breakfast sandwich right there for $4,) but we just got açaí bowls at Zeke's. Sad. But next time, definitely. Go enjoy your Saturday at the beach, grab a Kombucha, or coffee, pick up a gift, some pastries, freshly pressed juice, freshly picked fruit, everything, here! I would come back. And I'll come back hungry and thirsty next time!

Yelp
Prior to this weekend our last visit to Old Beach Farmers Market and Virginia Beach was in August 2008. It was there that we sampled the most delicious sweet potato biscuits with country ham and cinnamon butter. Words can't effectively express how good they were. In fact two years later in 2010 I was still thinking of those biscuits and had 50 made and shipped frozen. I have since lost the vendors information but the memory never left my mind. During our trip this past weekend to Cape Charles I made it a point to drive over the bridge in hopes that that vendor and those delicious biscuits were still around. Unfortunately they weren't there but the farmers market has expanded and it was worth the trip. The variety now is beyond food and produce to handcrafted arts and crafts. Artisan crafted breads, spreads, and wines and kombucha can also be found. Farm fresh produce is still available and now of the organic variety. Along with beautiful designed planters and flowers. Some of the items were a little pricey, but it's nice to support small local businesses and farms. While it's not large there's enough stands to warrant a visit. Samples are generously given out and free parking was available in lots of the closed professional offices nearby. A highly recommended stop if you're in the area on a Saturday morning, just be sure to come hungry.

Yelp
Love this farmers market! I just moved over to the area and have been for the past 3 Saturdays. There is a variety of fruits/vegetables, drinks (coffee, wine, kombucha, etc), as well as organic AND vegan options.

Yelp
This was actually the first time I went to a Farmer's Market! I'm not sure of what I thought to expect when I went but it was a great day to go. My first stop was Edmont's (sp?) farm, where I picked up some great Kale and Sweet Potatoes. I made my way over to a nice Lady at "Spread the Jam" she was delightful to talk to and offered great ways to use the jam I purchased; the best Mango Jam I think I ever had. Right next to her was Speedy's Hot Sauce, I purchased all three flavors, Mango Habanero, and two others I can't remember off bat. Just a great way to give back to the community and support local farmers, I can see myself doing this more in the future.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a good farmers market?‍ This one is the perfect size for the Vibe Districts. Visit their website or Facebook page to peek at your options for parking which are conveniently placed near the market. Great variety of vendors covering food, produce, beverages and artisans/crafts. What I love is you'll see small business owners just starting out alongside those with nearby brick and mortar businesses. As with any market, it always helps to bring smaller bills and reusable grocery bags but most will also have Square for credit card purchases and paper or plastic grocery bags. A couple of my favorites are Red Mushroom Kombucha, Pelon's (breakfast burrito and fresh guacamole) and From Rome with Love Bakery. Check it out on one of those beautiful sunny days before you head to the beach for some fun!

Yelp
Awesome little farmer's market that has grown little by little through the years. We go there primarily for the amazing produce from Mattawoman Creek Farms (USDA certified organic and just fantastic offerings). Like Steven A. mentioned, Terrapin also has a booth (about 1-2 booths away from Mattawoman Creek) selling their sourdough, granola, mozzarella, etc. You can find anything there from produce to meats & seafood to soaps and flowers to baked goods. There's quite a bunch jammed-packed into the area (which is the Croc's parking lot). There's even a green fair that started which had overflowed into the street...temporarily shutting down traffic on that block during the farmer's market's limited hours. It's our favorite Saturday tradition to pick up some beautiful produce and then get our grub on at Beach Bully catty-corner to market.

Yelp
A cute little market. They have fresh produce, meats/sausages, flowers, jams, tea, crepes, and a few artisan stands. It's a little small, but still a nice way to spend part of your Saturday morning. Stop into Badass Coffee at the end of the market for an iced macaroon latte to top off your visit, and it will totally be worth the trip.

Yelp
This is a great little farmer's market that operates out of the parking lot at Croc's 19th Street Bistro during the summer. You will be amazed at how much is on offer every week considering that it is in such a compact area. My favorite stalls are Brownies and 'Smore which is run by a fantastic lady who once worked as a pastry chef at some of the more high end kitchens in Hampton Roads. I always score "brownie" points (sorry for the pun) with my ladies at home when I come home with a PMS brownie or a caramel sea salt blondie. Decadent but oh so good. The staff from Terrapin also run a stall where they sell their fresh sourdough bread along with homemade granola and fresh sorbets and ice creams. If you have ever eaten at Terrapin then you know the level of quality you can expect in these items. Angelo Serpe and his wife from Pasta e-Pani were there yesterday selling his fresh made pastas and sauces. This guy is a true stalwart and it is nice to see him still churning out the food that made him famous in Hampton Roads. The folks from the Weeping Radish farm and microbrewery are always there offering free samples of their sausages. Be sure to ask for their fresh liverwurst. It is probably the best thing you can put on a piece of toast in the morning. The produce vendor located in the corner of the L shaped parking lot always has an amazing array of fresh veggies. Be sure to ask what is coming in over the next few weeks. I find it helps in planning weekend menus. The May peas they were selling a few weeks ago were some of the best I have ever had. Bring cash and a reusable carry bag since you will always buy more than you had planned.

Yelp
The description on the Old Beach Farmers' Market website that calls it "quaint" is just about right. It's a small market, open only during the summer from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays in the parking lot of Croc's restaurant--catty-corner to the VB Convention Center. Croc's has been a leader in the environmental movement in the local food service industry. They were the first restaurant in the state to be certified green. So it follows that a farmers market emphasizing local sustainable goods is a perfect fit. Like I said, it's small. But what is there is very good. There are a few produce providers. Then there are locally made treats, cookies, brownies and etc. There are couple of local seafood purveyors, some soaps, jams and sauces, bread, Virginia wines (a lot of times they have free tastings) and flowers. One of my favorites is the meats from the Weeping Radish Farm and Brewery out of North Carolina. They sell this apple bratwurst that is so tender and mild (isn't that a Christmas song?) that it makes me want to cry. Downside of the market? There's a pretty small time window that it's open. If you miss it, you're SOL.

Yelp
For me, the most convenient really great Farmer's Market in Va Beach. During the summer months, it sets up every Saturday morning in the street and parking lot at Croc's restaurant, corner of 19th and Arctic --- it takes me about 6 minutes to get there, and, sometimes, another 6 minutes to find a place to park. Not just a great assortment of the freshest local fruits and veggies (except, strangely, I haven't noticed any figs this year), but usually also a selection of jams and jellies, spice blends, cheeses, fresh-baked bread from Chef Rodney at Terrapin, and, very often, a smattering of hand-made jewelry and other arts and crafts. In the non-summer months the Market switches to only one Saturday a month, and becomes much more of an arts-and-crafts event, with some residual canned jams, fruits and veggies that were prepared from the previous summer's harvests. Since I've stopped growing my own white corn, the Old Beach Market has become my go-to spot for that, plus an occasional variety of tomato I don't grow, plus yellow squash, plus an occasional new cheese I haven't tried, and ALWAYS a loaf of Chef Rodney's sourdough. Just a nice spot to load up on fresh local produce, visit with an occasional friend, and mingle with some of the nicest farmers and restaurateurs in town.

Yelp
It had been a few years since we visited the OBFM, but we decided to go and check it out this past weekend. WOW what a difference. Its much larger now PLUS has a more diverse set of vendors which is nice. On our visit we saw products ranging from goat cheese, bread, and blue crabs, to eco products and succulent plants. Its worth the trip on a nice summer morning.

Yelp
A lovely locavore experience, full of exotic fare like goat-milk soap and drinkable yogurt, as well as classy takes on more familiar items like root beer, cupcakes and chocolate. Well, you can tell that I mostly indulged my sweet tooth, but my dad got some granola and two kinds of cheese, and there was plenty of produce, too. A political booth concerning offshore drilling seemed out of place but was easily bypassed, and the overall atmosphere was vibrant and friendly. The market is open every Saturday from May 15 - September 25, 8am-12pm in the Croc's 19th St. Bistro parking lot.

Yelp
Not nearly as big as the Princess Anne Farmers Market, the Old Beach Farmer's Market still has what you're looking for. There's a good selection of goods, but it's not so busy. Of course I'm not a farmer and am just now getting into vegetables, so I can't really say that one market is better than the other. But Old Beach is definitely a place to shop especially when you're disappointed by Wal-mart, Food Lion or Farm Fresh's produce section.

Ann W.

Yelp
Old Beach Farmers Market is now year-round - weekly in the summer and on Third Saturdays during the rest of the year. The farmers and other vendors seem to put a lot of pride and professionalism into what they sell. It's popular with locals and welcoming to visitors. Don't miss Brownies & S'Mores, Vy's pies, Terrapin's fresh mozzarella and sorbets, Pasta & Pani's sauces, Croc's hummus or truffles from Shady Goat Farm. Tell your friends!
