The 14 Best Restaurants in Chiang Mai, Thailand | Eater
"Is it the most utterly delicious meal in the city? Not exactly. Is it a quintessential Chiang Mai experience? 100 percent. The northern Thai equivalent of dinner theater couples deliciously pan-regional meals — think slightly sweet, northern Thai-style pork curry, chile-based dips, as well as a couple central Thai dishes — with traditional dance, and has been entertaining both local and foreign visitors for the last 40 years. Absolutely loved our dinner here! We arrived with the legacy package pre booked, pre paid and I couldn’t believe when the woman checking us in told me I had booked the night before! I was shocked and so embarrassed! The tickets clearly said the day before and I messed it all up! They were very kind and helpful to figure out a space for us even though they were fully booked that night! We were in the back and with the classic menu but we were just so happy to be able to still enjoy the experience! The food was very good and the show was informative and lovely. The staff couldn’t have been kinder or more attentive even considering my complete fail with booking the wrong day! I would absolutely recommend!

Family of five attended a cultural experience of the Khantoke Dinner at Chiang Mai Cultural Centre. We bought the upgraded dinner service and we're happily seated next to the stage. Unfortunately, all the food they brought out was cool or cold. Very disappointing for the price we paid per person. The serving staff did not explain any of the foods (language barrier, perhaps) although a single handout was given to tell us what foods were coming. Again, for the price paid, I believe we should have gotten an introduction to the meal to expand the experience. We adults enjoyed some of the foods but the 2 children ate very little. Also had to ask for more water and he refilled my water glass, but didn't offer to the remaining guests!
The show itself was interesting & enjoyed.
The floor seating was authentic but somewhat uncomfortable for us westerners. I would advise to wear shorts or pants so you can sit cross legged.

Went there for a food festival. They had all sorts of different food. American, Thai, Myanmar, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, German and all sorts of european. The area itself is huge and there's so much space. Plenty of places to sit and places to throw trash. There was a big stage where artists performed and the vibes were really good. Fair prices too and free entry 🤗

Old Chiang Mai cultural center offers traditional northern thai dinner and traditional dance show. I came in in the afternoon and registered for the full package.
The staff was amazing and practical, booking was easy even if you didn't purchased a ticket in advanced.
The meal course consisted of northern thai plates and it was absolutely delicious and well made!! The dance show had several parts with announcements explaning the meaning of each dance, great performers 👏🏽
You can choose to set on mats on the floor or choose a table .
I want to especially thank the wonderful and thoughtful employee who helped me out by giving me a cover for my foot to go inside the venue, since I couldn't walk barefoot due to the bandage i had🤍
It was diffenetly worth the visit!

Went to this dinner show on Halloween and were so amazed! (Choose classic khantoke) They have been doing this for 20 years, and it shows in everything—from the precise setup of the dishes (we chose to sit on the floor, traditional Lanna meal-sharing style) to the clear introductions and beauty of the dances.
This show is a real crowd-pleaser and a great deal for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in Thai culture in a fun way. We didn’t see this listed as a major site yet, but plenty of people showed up. This dinner show is a must-do for Chiang Mai!

It was a nice show, food was good although an overwhelming quantity. Wife woke the next day with a stomach bug that ruined a full day.

Don't date leave Chiang Mai without giving this place a go. Awesome dinner (I didn't expect it to be an eat-all-you-can)!
There were at least 6 traditional performances by really awesome artists and musicians.
PRO TIP: Unless you have bad knees or back, ALWAYS go for the Thai Floor Mats instead of booking a table. It feels more "traditional" this way and you'll be seated nearer the stage too.
