Old Ferry Donut

Best donut here is the butter pistachio for sure, I would come back just for that flavor! I also tried the creme brulee, pb&j, maple, and strawberry cream which were all not bad but the butter pistachio was the perfect balance of not too sweet with a soft cream and fluffy donut. The other ones except maybe the strawberry cream were a bit too heavy/sweet for my taste. I'd want to try the other cream flavors like milk and coffee.

The donut looked great and came in really cute packaging(even with just 1 donut). The taste was okay, not the best I’ve had but still enjoyable. The seating area was clean and well kept, which made the visit pleasant overall.

Incredible doughnuts - some of the best in LA, in fact. Butter pistachio is the best I’ve had so far - a ring doughnut with pistachio crumbs on top and a light whipped pistachio filling. The crème brûlée ball is great too - filled with vanilla-bean cream and a crunchy sugar coating on the outside. The matcha ball was very good as well. I wasn’t sold however on their cake doughnut, a bit dense for my taste. The interior has a fun retro vibe and there is a seating area with a few tables and chairs if you want to eat your goods in house. Service was fast and friendly. Parking can be a bit tricky but nothing out of the ordinary for K-town. We did find street parking on a Saturday afternoon though FWIW They have some creative flavors I’d love to try next time like cream cheese and onion sesame. I’d recommend coming with friends so you can try a bit of each! We will be back!

Expensive but its LA. What can I say? Boojie doughnuts. I've never had doughnuts where glazed fruit flavors actually tasted like the fruit advertised. Like their raspberry glazed actually tasted like raspberries and didn't taste similar to all the other glazed doughnuts. Great stuff but very ready to spend!

I came because of world famous Twitch streamer vanillamace’s iconic video… and was the donut life changing? Hmm… perhaps not BUT it was so good. I definitely recommend the pistachio donut. So good, just don’t be gluttonous like me and my friend and get two donuts and eat them all at once if you can’t handle it lollll. Will 100% be returning again :)

Wow - I've had hundreds of donuts and these are undoubtedly THE BEST I've ever had. I got delivered the Tiramisu, Pistachio Butter and Boston Cream. You can tell it's high quality ingredients and made to absolute perfection. My only regret was not ordering more. I definitely want to try the Cookies N Cream, Coconut and their flavored milks! If you love sweets, do not pass up on Old Ferry.

I have been wondering down a big rabbit hole for best donuts in Los Angeles. Old ferry's name has popped up a few times. I would say out of the places I've tried, Old Ferry stands firm in the middle of the pack. The early grey cake donut was lovely, it had wonderful black tea flavor without being too heavy or sweet. I would definitely get this again. I also tried the pistachio donut but I just wasn't the biggest fan. I wasn't aware it would be filled, and I wish the menu indicated this. I thought the packaging and the interior was cute but I wouldn't be rushing back.

I was actually driving past this location for a different dessert location in K Town but as I was stopped at the light... I decided to stop in Old Ferry Donuts instead. They're not the price of your normal mom and pop donut spot, these were about $4 each but they were worth it. I ordered the lemon poppyseed donut, the stuffed cookies & cream donut, the stuffed crème brûlée, doughnut, and the Boston cream donut. All delicious and they don't skimp on the cream stuffing. The donut itself was perfectly sweet and fluffy. The only reason I decided not to give this place 5 stars was because the service was okay... there was two people working behind the counter and I had to kind of break their conversation to pick the donuts I wanted to try. On top of that, I wasn't asked if I'd been in there before, if I had any questions, etc. The location is clean inside and out but parking in this area is a nightmare. There are spots right out from but they are meetered and you must pay if you want to leave huge car on the street. I will absolutely be back if I'm in the area, hopefully the staff will be a little more attentive.

The concept is cute and the open window concept is refreshing. I have been passing by this donut shop for a few days in a row and decided to try it. Hmmmm, it was okay.

Fun flavors and good quality donuts! Their dough is really fluffy and generous on the fillings Tiramisu and pistachio butter were standouts for me. The milk cream one was simple but still very satisfying. Unfortunately the creme brulee one was not good since it was undercooked and the inside had a strong doughy texture and flavor.

Brought from Korea right to KTown, Old Ferry Donut is now part of 6th's Street's hot and vibrant food-packed culture. I finally got to try them this and it's such a cute shop! Even in the afternoon, they still had most options available and their flavors are quite unique. I still need to try more flavors (like the peanut butter) but I wasn't as over~the~moon as I had hoped I would be about them. I had the Choco Fudge Glazed and did like the flavor of the chocolate and texture of the donut dough - really light and fluffy. I didn't quite understand the donut crumbles on top. I was really excited about the chocolate crunch which was a special flavor! The frosting layer was so thin which wouldn't be so bad but the donut was so dry that it couldn't get any depth it would have from a thicker frosting. Flavor seemed great though! I'm not counting Old Ferry out as there are still so many flavors to be tried. I will say, I'm not rushing to get back though and I'm sad because I pass it all the time~!

Was looking to indulge in a not-too-sweet sweet treat after overindulging (lol) at Quarters bbq next door. We got the sesame cake donut, the creme brulee donut, and the butter pistachio. The butter pistachio donut has been living in my head rent-free for months. I am usually not a fan of cream-filled donuts (or need to be in the right mood for one) because I don't like the waxy, cool-whip cream or tangy Bavarian custard that you get at the average mom-and-pop donut store. It's nostalgic, sure, but I very rarely get the urge to order one. This one is magic. Not too sweet (obviously) and filled with a decadent, brown-buttery pistachio cream. I am a yeasted donut girl, and the dough was pillowy, perfect, and covered with chopped pistachio. The creme brulee donut and sesame cake donut were excellent too (I guess it's important to mention that I have historically preferred yeasted donuts to fritters and cake donuts, but the black sesame one REALLY sold me) but miss butter pistachio was chef's kiss. Thank you, Korea, for doing your big one and bringing us Old Ferry Donuts.

Unique donuts! I've tried a couple different donuts from here already and I have to say the butter pistachio is by far my favorite. I love that it's not too sweet or dense. The creme brûlée donut was a little too sweet for me and the matcha and tiramisu donuts felt a bit dense. Overall, these donuts are nothing like what you'd get at an American donut shop. They were light and fluffy and tasted just like Asian bakery bread. Aside from the donuts, the decor and branding are so cute!

Honestly this was so disappointing. I got two donuts (choco crunch cake and tiramisu) and the total was $9. It would've been fine IF they were special donuts, but they weren't! Firstly, the choco crunch was TINY - literally the diameter of a can. I did prefer the taste/flavor of this one more than the tiramisu - but it was not worth $3-4! The tiramisu, I was expecting there to be a mascarpone flavor in the cream, but it was just unsweetened, regular cream inside. And the icing was caramel. They should consider renaming the donut because it's not even close to being tiramisu-inspired. The service was not good. I don't expect a welcome or hi, but it's a little weird when I walk up to the register and get no acknowledgment from the person behind the counter or any indication if they're ready for my order. They were a short king and I am also short, so I could not make eye contact with them when ordering since there was a perfectly placed plaque at eye level. So the ordering process was a bit awkward. Parking also sucks but everyone knows that already. I wouldn't even stop here even if I were already in the area for dinner; there are much better dessert places.

I'm a huge donut person, but the donuts were good. I will say fresh donuts in the evening was what makes it 4 star! But the flavors are so/so and the cream was okay. I think the cake donuts had stronger and better flavor. I think it is a must try and it won't disappoint in that sense, but it's not something I can see myself driving to because I must have their donuts. If I'm in the neighborhood I'll stop by and have different flavors. They do have an assortment of drinks and the inside is nice and cool. They have somewhere sit and it's a hip Updated donut shop. The service was good, friendly employees.

Cute space and beautiful glass case presentation of the donuts, but would love to see some vegan options! The employees were happy and smiling so that was a nice vibe even though my visit was brief.

Tiramisu Donut - 5 ! Creme Brule Donut - 5 ! Butter Pistachio Donut - 5 ! Milk Cream Donut - 5 ! Old Ferry Donut is a place I found completely by happy accident. I was in Koreatown and happened to glance over and saw the signage. The name caught my eye. The next time I was close by, I decided to go see what it was like. I enjoyed the bright colors of the store and the menu. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wound up leaving with four incredible, filled donuts and became an instant fan. It turns out, Old Ferry Donut is a successful Korean donut place that is making its way into SoCal. They specialize in filled donuts. Each of the four I had on my visit were filled with amazing flavor combinations. I would not hesitate to have any one of the flavors again. I am confident the ones I didn't try would be equally as good. There are a few that are not filled if you are seeking a sweet snack without the filling. They have a robust range of cafe items and snacks as well. One thing I saw that I thought was pretty unique is they had a selection of flavored, sweet milk. Such a creative, fun idea. They have a nice selection of merchandise. Los Angeles is donut heaven. There are so many great options out there and like pizza or burgers, I am always happy to see a new donut entry, especially when it is one I know little about but turns out to be fantastic. I hope lots of people give Old Ferry Donut a try because they were definitely one of the best random spots I have discovered by accident in my foodie adventures. This location is in Koreatown where parking can be tricky. I don't know if they have a parking lot in the building they are in. I had to go around the block a few times to get street parking.

I'm so happy this donut shop finally opened up in LA! I've seen pictures of their donuts and have been wanting to try them so badly! However I wasn't going to drive all the way to Buena Park just to grab a donut. I ordered the pistachio, milk, tiramisu and the crème brûlée donut and everything was so good! They also have individual boxes or you can get them in a box of 4 or 6! The staff there is really sweet and there are some seats inside to sit and enjoy your donut! They also sell merch at this store and it's super cute and I would love to get something in the future!

I have been wanting to try these donut for some time now since I heard about their location in Buena Park. So glad they have one in KTown - because it much closer to me. Got lucky and saw it while driving by and had to make a stop after dinner. really wanted to try their butter pistachio donut but missed by a few minutes. Asked what else was the most popular and had to go with their suggestions of the Boston Creme & Tiramisu. Tiramisu - 9/10, really good - not very tiramisu if you ask me but a cross between a very well done maple coffee & cream donut. i would get it again. Boston creme - 10/10, the chocolate glaze took the cake on this. decadent donut but at the same time not extremely sweet. the creme in the don't was perfect. next time, i want to try - butter pistachio, cream cheese and coconut. Honestly, if your in ktown you will most likely being having dinner near by - you just got to walk over and give it a try yourself.

These donuts are so good. I got a sesame cake donut, crème brûlée, tiramisu, Boston cream, cream cheese and lemon poppyseed. The tiramisu is an absolute stand out. I didn't get an OFD Milk but the cold brew coffee was strong and solid. The place is really cute and quaint. It was really clean and there were plenty of little table spots to sit and enjoy a donut. 6 donuts and an iced coffee was $32 before tip. The service was excellent! The employee who was working on Tues Aug 20th @ 4:30pm deserves a raise. You were really nice and it was spotless in there and you helped customers efficiently and with a smile on your face. Sorry I didn't catch your name but shout out to you for being so solid. I'll def be back for more donuts!

If Willy Wonka made donuts, this would be the place! My group and I were greeted by their welcoming staff and introduced to all the options. Unique flavors with a perfect crunchy outside and soft inside, paired with their tasty flavored milks and sodas is a great way to end a fun night. For a sweet adventure in K-town, this spot is a must. Don't forget to check out their cute merch stand before you go!

I have been waiting for this location to open for so long, and while I was driving the day before its grand opening, I finally saw a few displayed banners. I thought it was open, but I was on my way to dinner, so I just passed.   The next day (11/17), after lunch in Koreatown, I decided to stop by. I found street parking right in front, so I got lucky because I was planning on leaving if I didn't find parking. I came and found out that it was their grand opening day. Not that it makes anything different, but I was glad I finally got to buy the donuts here. No more trips to the OC.   I got my usual, and my favorite is Butter Pistachio. They had a few other flavors I had yet to see, so I decided to try the White Chocolate Sesame, Earl Grey, and Milk Cream Ball, along with the Raspberry Ball, for my boyfriend. I liked the subtle Earl Grey cream on top of cakey donut. Donut was not too moist and was on the dry side though. White Chocolate Sesame was unique in texture due to toasty sesame seeds and was different. Milk Cream Ball was full of cream inside and it went really went with Matcha Latte I got from somewhere else.   Customer service was on point, and my donuts were ready almost instantly after I made the payment. They had a small grand opening event on the other side but I was not lucky enough to claim a prize which was a cup full of donuts.   I will definitely be back when I have a craving for these donuts. I still believe Butter Pistachio is the best of all!

Must try: anything cream filled, especially their pistachio. Thought it would be overly sweet but not at all. Unlike American donut filling and frosting, less sugary and dense & more fluffy and airy. Ambiance: I do not recommend this place for a sit down. The store has an open concept, so street noise on top of the music being played makes this place not so ideal. Cons: no free parking (unless you get lucky finding street parking) which makes visiting this establishment difficult, especially as a solo traveler. Some Yelpers have suggested to double park but I hate being THAT kind of a driver. However, I still do think about their cream filled donuts so it's still worth the visit. I'd say plan ahead and bring a co-pilot or put on comfy shoes.

Old ferry donuts is legit. These aren't your average donuts, these are gourmet. We ordered earl grey, pistachio, tiramisu, crème brûlée, and Oreo. The earl grey was our favorite, with pistachio a close second. So much delicious flavor. All of them had a filling except the earl grey. It was more of a cakenut. The design is so cute too. If you're looking for a gourmet donut this is your place.

Best doughnut in LA bc they nailed the perfect dough + it's fun. Why don't other places follow suite?

This place was good! They specialize in filled donuts--even the ring donuts with a hole in the middle were filled, which surprised me. I like how all the fillings are homemade-tasting instead of that generic filling that seems to be prevalent in every other donut place across the country. I'm not the biggest donut fan either, but this place was worth it.

Milk cream ball donut and coconut donut- the milk cream ball donut was light, airy and very tasty this donut is filled with a whipped vanilla cream. The outside of the donut has no glaze, but granulated sugar.. still awesomely good!! The coconut donut had a thick vanilla glaze with coconut underneath with a coconut cream.. Long live this donut- I love coconut and the overabundance of cream filling took the taste of the donut up several notches.. it tastes very good, so wonderfully made!!! Oh i forgot the banana milk is so divine- just think cow meets banana- so yummy!! The Mint White Chocolate Milk is so ambrosial - mints and white chocolate in milk truly visionary-- so delicious. A special thanks to the creator of the flavored milk and cute packaging!!!

Cute, asthetically pleasing donut shop! I like that the donuts are not overly sweet. My favorites are the pistachio, creme brulee, and milk cream ball! My sister was once addicted to this place so we walked over almost every day for about a week. She even bought a pop-socket for her phone. I tried their banana milk that came in a cute plastic container/bag. Dont recommend this as it was overly sweet and gone within two sips. Recommend their donuts though!

I finally have a relationship with people that they text me whenever they see a new donut shop open. Personal victory. I haven't been to any other of their locations so I went into Old Ferry blind. Very cute little donut shop with wall to wall decorations, TVs or merch. Music blasting a bit louder than it probably should be for such a small space. Welp. I felt bad for the one woman working. She was the only person there taking orders, packaging donuts, making coffee, etc so things were backed up. Took maybe 15 from ordering 6 donuts and 2 coffees to actually receiving them. But I felt for her and I had nowhere else to be. Their signature Tube Latte looked fun on the poster but was actually pretty gross. It was super sweet and too artificially strawberry. Not for me. The donut on top was nice. Butter pistachio donut is a must have. Salty sweet. So light and fluffy. So smooth. Peanut butter cream donut was real nice. It tasted nearly like pure peanut butter. I eat my PB out of the jar so I'm here for it. I'd just recommend ordering ahead and doing a pick up.

Decided to stop by this place after walking past it after kbbq. And WOW! These donuts are fluffy, creamy, and not too sweet! We got the butter pistachio, black sesame, earl grey, and cream bun. The favorite was definitely the butter pistachio! Nutty, buttery, and so delicious!! The show glass displays all the donuts available so if they don't display it, most likely they don't have that flavor at this location. It's a clean and rather spacious place for a donut shop! A good place to grab some sweets with friends. The staff are very efficient and friendly so overall, we had a great experience. Definitely coming back!

Was craving donuts and found this place on Yelp. Decided to give it a try even though it was pretty late in the afternoon. Got to the shop and there was a short line, but not many donuts left and all the signs were removed. I picked based on their looks. Got 2 white chocolate sesame, a tiramisu and can't recall what the other flavor is. Donuts are pricey close to $5 each. All the flavors are pretty good, but I've had better donuts before. This one isn't as light as others. Come early if you want selections or else you get to choose from the leftover flavors.

The butter pistachio is the best donut I've ever had in my life. This is going to be my new donut spot. The tiramisu donut was also quite good. Friendly service and INCREDIBLE donuts!

This is for the one on Las Tunas, next to Hui Tou Xiang in a super busy strip mall with Bonchon etc. parking is a nightmare. Be prepared. Korean donuts usually aren't my fave but this is next level. I ordered: 1. Creme Brulee- as expected delicious with a crispy crackly top and perfect cream inside- large amount, not like other places- each bite with this was full of cream- heavenly! 2. Butter Pistachio- hands down fav! For someone who loves filled donuts, this is a dream come true. The filling is inside the ring- don't be fooled by the donut hole- they somehow engineered this delight to have filling ALL THE WAY AROUND! I ate half on site and half the next day and it was just as good. Normally I could seriously eat 3 of these but I had a huge lunch right before going. Do not plan to share because one of you will get angry, lol! Get one per person or 2, or 3... you won't regret it. Buttery pistachio dream come true- the pistachio flavor is really so luxurious with butter and sugar baked in dough. This is pure genius. 3. Yuja (yuzu in Japanese) lemonade- delicious! Tart and tangy and the perfect sweetness but definitely have it separate from or after the donuts because the sweetnesses compete too much. I am totally in love!

OMGGGG... as a true foodie with a major sweet tooth i can say this donut shop is DELICIOUS. This is my 3rd time within a week of ordering from here. My favorite is the milk cream ball, pistachio, and tiramisu. But whoever made the donuts 3/17.. i love u but please add more cream filling ! After a fulfilling ramen lunch, my hubby needed some sweets. We yelped and found this donut shop with good reviews. We bought the following flavors per recommendation from the staff with the extra Boston Cream and Choco Crunchy. 1. Tiramisu: It's my hubby's favorite dessert, and it still was as a donut for him. We both like it, but it's on the sweeter side. Having it with coffee or milk would be good. 2. Creme Brulee: My favorite dessert, and it was not a disappointment as a donut. The donut is not sweet at all, and the cream filling was not either. The only sweetness came from the carmelized sugar glaze on the outside of the donut. It's a nice crackled crunch with a combination of sweet and bitter taste. I love it! 3. Butter Pistachio: The cream is sweet and buttery with a hint of saltiness. If it was less sweet, then it would be perfect. 4. Milk Cream Ball: OMGosh! Hubby and I finished it immediately after taking a first bite. Not sweet at all, and the creme is so yummy, very light. Even with the sugar sprinkled all over the donut, it was not sweet. 5. Boston Cream: Didn't try as we ended up sharing it with a friend. 6. Choco Crunchy donut: My 8yo says it's "super chocolate melt on top. It's good. Not dry. But a little sweet. " Overall, the donuts were very good. The texture of the donut is perfect. It's chewey and fluffy but yet very light. We didn't taste any oil in the donuts either, so we were able to enjoy the donuts even more than usual. I also appreciate that they separated the donuts with the individual bakery tissue so that the donuts don't rub against each other but give us something to hold the donuts with. My favorite would be the creme brulee and milk cream! Will definitely return when I'm in town!

I should've finished this review months ago but I went around 12pm and the donuts were fresh soft and pillowy the filling wasn't overly stuffed to where you feel overwhelmed after taking a bite. The workers that were there at the time gladly have recommendations based on their favorite donut and they didn't disappoint. Th butter pistachio and tiramisu were the best tasting ones.

This new-ish donut shop is from Korea. It has 'gourmet donuts' and over the course of the last few months I've had about five different flavors - my favorite was probably the jelly donut with raspberry filling (kind of a sour tang to it). I thought the others were just fine (though nothing to write home about) Sometimes if you go later in the day the donuts don't taste AS fresh as they might if you went earlier. Honestly, I'd recommend California Donuts which is in the same vicinity, over this. They're not as active on social-media or from overseas but their customer service is better and they always have FRESH donuts.

More like 3.5 stars! I was so excited to try this place after seeing it on tiktok. Unfortunately it was very mid for me and my husband. We tried the butter pistachio, early grey, chocolate (can't remember), and a strawberry one but honestly they all were a 6/10 for us. The butter pistachio was my favorite but not something I'd order again.

Small donut shop in Ktown from Korea. Their donuts are soft and fluffy, with filling that's a cross between custard and whipped cream. The bread is airy on the outside and biting into it you're greeted with a hint of sweetness that satisfies those who'd like a less sweeter taste, an overall enjoyable and delectable experience.

My fiance and I swung by last night after dinner to get dessert. We had it once a long time ago at the source! Upon entry we were met by the cutest decor! I'm super bias since I love the color orange! Trying to be healthy we ordered one milk cream donut to share! We cut it in half and took bites. I am thought it would be old since it was the end of the day... but I was met by the lightest soft and chewy all at the same time amazing texture of the donut. The donut even at 8 pm tasted fresh! The cream was light and just the perfect amount of sweet for me. It was complimented by the sugar crystal! That was one of the best donuts I've had! So much so... I went back this morning and picked up four! They are all delicious but the whip cream ball... that one has my heart! What a hidden gem! I can't wait to swing by here more often! Goodbye waistline! :)

Really yummy and unique donuts. These are premium and the price to match. I think each donut is about $5 which seems outrageous for a donut but the flavors and fillings are delicious. It's a tiny little space, just to stand in line, order and grab your bag to take away. There may be a couple tables outside on the sidewalk.

I've been wanting to go here for so long, but I never go to buena park, but i'm so glad that i happened to see old ferry donut on my maps when I was in ktown. So I'm not a big donut person, but their donuts are really good. I ended up getting these from recommendation of the very friendly worker: butter pistachio: 9/10 creme brule: 9/10 milk cream: 7/10 (this is still a good donut just not as good as the others) raspberry ball: 10/10. It's not a typical jelly donut, it has jam, perfectly sweet and TANGY! I had a bite of my friends: Tiramisu: 7/10 boston creme: 6/10 - i think this is subjective as I think I'm not a big fan of boston creme flavor. I can't wait to come back and try the coconut, cream cheese, seasame and earl grey!

Came at a friend's glowing recommendation but unfortunately we found these to be overwhelmingly sweet and on the richer side, especially the earl grey. Butter pistachio was promising but too greasy almost. Will be giving them a second try later on, hopefully this was just a fluke.

Parking sucks! Luckily we parked close by so this was an easy walk. It was me and my family's first time. I got the milk cream ball, it was delicious!. Definitely come and check them out. They have dine in seating and a cool merch shop inside.

Delicious! Fast service. It's pricey but the donuts are huge so I think it's worth it. It was empty and parking was easy when I went a little after lunch time. I will definitely be a consistent customer.

My food buddy and I had just finished a delectable dinner in K-Town and were looking for a sweet treat to end the night. We'd passed Old Ferry on the way to another dessert spot, but when that dessert spot didn't turn out to be what we wanted, we figured we'd give Old Ferry a try--and I'm so glad we did! LA is known for its wonderful Cambodian-owned donut shops, but a Korean donut shop was something new to me. Given how late in the day we came (after 7 pm), several of their donut flavors were understandably sold out, but they still had tiramisu and coconut, among others. I love tiramisu in general, so I figured there was a good chance I would like their tiramisu donut. I was wrong. I LOVED their tiramisu donut, which was moist and delicious and completely surprised me with the creamy filling (apparently something they're known for, but I did not know that at the time). My buddy likewise very much enjoyed his coconut donut. Staff was very friendly, and the shop is adorable. These are not cheap donuts, but they're in line with other "premium" donuts you'd find elsewhere in the city, and for the quality, I found it fair. My only minor quibble, which I think has been noted by a few others: If you're eating in, it seems like overkill to put the donut in a box. Maybe a little biodegradable plate? That would use less material. But all in all, this place was a fabulous surprise, and I look forward to trying some of their other flavors (creme brulee, I'm looking at you!).

Great donuts!!!! I will say most of them are huge and filled with tasty cream. This can be a bit of an overload. But they also have a series of smaller, frosted old fashion donuts which are the real stars IMHO.

If you've been looking to try Korean style donuts, DONUT miss out on the newly opened @oldferrydonut.us in Koreatown. I'm typically not the hugest fan of donuts but these were SO good and definitely my new guilty pleasure. Each donut is stuffed with the lightest, most fluffy cream, and they come in innovative flavors such as tiramisu (my favorite), crème brûlée, butter pistachio and peanut butter. Don't forget to pair your sweet treat with their decadent and deliciously innovative tube latte, which features their housemade strawberry cream (that reminds me of strawberry pocky) and a miniature pink donut.

Old Ferry Donuts has made its way from Korea to LA this past weekend. I stopped by during their grand opening because I could not miss out on trying these delicious sweets. They had so many donut flavors like pistachio, tiramisu, crème brûlée, peanut butter, coconut, and earl grey! To my surprise, some of these are filled. The peanut butter donut was covered in crushed nuts and filled with a peanut butter cream. It was so good! The tube latte was also so good! It's layered with delicious creams and topped with a mini donut! If you're a donut lover like me, make sure to check them out! Also, they have a nook book with retail items like totes and branded bandanas. Super cute!

The butter pistachio donut is by far, hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten in my ENTIRE life. It's the perfect blend of sweet and salty, with the butterscotch glaze balancing the pistachio cream filling that's perfectly piped throughout. Insanely good. Tried the peanut butter donut as well (8/10) and the Boston creme, which was just ok even though that was always my favorite growing up. Want to try the creme brûlée eventually too!

Yay! Old Ferry Donut was open this morning, and we are friends again! I've got a bunch of gooey fancy doughnuts to take to work, and my Koreaphile coworker with a huge sweet tooth is sure to be thrilled. She's been looking longingly at photos of the Butter Pistachio doughnut for weeks, after all. I actually stopped in yesterday and got the coconut and cream cheese versions, which were delicious. These are insanely rich, even moreso than the run-of-the-mill Krispy Kreme, and in a city with more than enough fancy, overpriced tori of fried dough, Old Ferry manages to stand out from the crowd. Being able to get them in the morning, when doughnuts should be eaten, just makes them all the better.

Wanted to like this place after waiting for almost a year for them to open. I went in around 1 pm and they were out of about half the donuts because they only fry the donuts once in the morning and sell the layered tray of donuts you see sitting in middle of back counter. I ordered tube latte and got 2 tiramisu donuts because that was the only different than the basic flavored donut they had. To start with the drink, I asked for the mini donut that comes the drink on the side. They looked at me like I was on drugs. It took about 5 min of asking around but they eventually said yes they can make it with the donut on the side... I knew the cup was small but was not expecting it to be smaller than a water cup. It was too loose of a fit for my car cup holder so I did end up spilling some in my car as I got out of the parking spot. I asked for the donut on the side cause I knew I wasn't going to eat it and knew it would overflow in my car. As I was driving I decided to hold it while driving and it still spilled all over my clothes. Don't get the drinks unless you plan on chugging it before leaving the store. For the tiramisu donut, it was good and had a good amount of sweetness as a donut should but if you asked me to guess what flavor it was I would not have said it tastes like tiramisu. The filling def had more whipped cream than mascarpone and the coffee flavor lacked in the icing. I probably wouldn't go past 1 if I were you. The cashier told me they're sold out of half their donuts and they weren't going to make any more cause they only make them once in the morning.
