"Old Forge Distillery in Pigeon Forge offers pumpkin roll moonshine with spices like cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. Subtle vanilla and confectioner’s sugar notes give it a sippable pumpkin bread-like flavor." - Sarah Bisacca

Every single time we come here it’s the best experience! The bar is phenomenal! The workers are perfect! But Angelica really stole the show with her kindness and amazing drink making last time we were there! Thank you all so much! See ya soon!

Michael Schott

Google
Went for the good reviews and also read the bad reviews to be prepared. Some of the bad reviews are due to the staff not being polite but that wasn't my experience. I was greated and treated well from everyone. I purchased a bottle and some gifts and the workers at the counter were nice. I also order an old fashion to taste the bourbon before ordering a bottle and it was very good. Almost everywhere I go I order one to compare and this one didn't disappoint.

Google
This was a nice surprise. We just stopped by because they a variety of spirits but found that they have a little bar area with very comfortable seating. On Thursdays they have $5 cocktails (normally $10) and they are legit cocktails. Also their bananas foster moonshine is the bomb. Need to check this place out.

Google
We love Old Forge and have been coming here for years! We loved the suggestions of mixing them together to create new flavors too. We always bought more when they suggested those!!! Plus we tipped more ha ha! The best were the spontaneous jokes and laughs while tasting the moonshine! We have noticed the last couple years it isn’t as fun when we do the tastings in back. We still stop by but miss the fun!!! Hardly any jokes and sometimes even being ignored, just pouring.

Google
Stopped in last week while vacationing in Pigeon Forge for the new year. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were short on space and I couldn't decide on just one or two jars, so I got a bunch of minis. So far my favorite has been the pineapple shine in place of rum in a pineapple daiquiri. 2oz pineapple shine, 1oz fresh lime juice, 3/4oz simple syrup.

Google
Went to buy a bottle of moonshine only for it to spill and get the jar sticky despite never opening it. Went to back to the store for an exchange explaining what happened only to be told that because of a law, they cannot exchange, refund, or take back any moonshine. Very disappointed. Be careful when buying from here.

Google
We had a great time doing the tasting with Derrick! He’s very knowledgeable about the process of crafting the premium spirits.

Google
Nice folks and great drink! Sampled cream liquors with Brooklyn who was an absolute delight. Made us some mixed that were amazing. Sampled rum, vodka, gin and whiskey with Rob who was fun. Also sampled moonshine with Leah - Manny good choices - coffee, chocolate and French toast were great!

Brad H.

Yelp
Please visit this place it is amazing. Great local business with awesome staff. I like the product is made all on site. The bourbon is overpriced but the rums are competitive Free tastings of moonshine but absolutely tip your taster

Cissy W.

Yelp
This was a fun stop on our wanderings. Lots of touristy type ware for the shopping. They also have a moonshine tasting station. The server was extremely pleasant and very efficient at moving things along but making it a fun and controlled experience. The moonshine we tasted was quite good, favorites were coffee, chocolate, vanilla and from there it varies by taste. Definitely a good stop.

Beverly B.

Yelp
Lots of distilleries in Tn but this one was so cute and smelled wonderful. We tried the cocktails and it was great especially for the price. I loved how the bartenders provided suggestions for folks depending on the percentage of alcohol, flavor profile and what they are lol. Fun times at Old Forge!

Mark S.

Yelp
Tastings of moonshine and creams! Awesome. Got ourselves a p'gin fizz ahead of dinner at the Mill next door! Plenty of souvenirs to buy (we got the funny coasters, maybe the p'gin fizz working on us!!) Nice establishment off the beaten path. Check it out!!

Joy S.

Yelp
Free tastings of various flavors of moonshine and creams. We've stopped at a few of these throughout our trip and they're always enjoyable. It's interesting to taste the variety of flavors they come up with. You have to show an id, no matter your age. Please leave a tip, since there's no charge for the tastings.

Ian M.

Yelp
Positives: people are friendly and nice. The samples are tasty and plentiful, especially the flavored liquor. This is not a Distillery - this is a gift shop with liquor and some Distillery displays. If you are looking for Old Pepper, Evan William Experience, or small scale Blue Grass Distillers - this is not it. If you want a gift shop with positive vibes and the chance to try new liquor - perfect stop. Again, I had a good time, but this will not give you a Distillery experience - it will give you a tasting room with Knick knacks.

Deacon Vincent R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere good service and very tasty food. If you indulge in the spirits, there's plenty to go around.

Sean M.

Yelp
I just love this place. Their ambiance is enjoying booze. Their servers are very entertaining and I 1a

Antwon C.

Yelp
The old mill square is definitely an area to stop by when in Pigeon Forge and Old Forge is a popular place to stop visit while there. They have an extensive list of flavored moonshine. Hard to pick a favorite. Tastings are free. Definitely recommend visiting if you like moonshine are if you would like to try it for the first time.

Stephen H.

Yelp
Come for the moonshine, stay for the rum cream. My mom was sold on the Haystack, which is a coconut flavored rum cream. I went for the peanut butter, which was my favorite by far.

Janie J.

Yelp
This is a great stop before eating at the Old Mill! The tasting is a big one and they have some unique flavors. The first stop we had a great server, but the second not so much. She stopped our tasting to hold two other conversations. We did enjoy the cute shop, the outdoors area to sit and relax.... Good stop!

Cesar C.

Yelp
This is a must when in the area, because how can you not. This has to be one of our best highlights of our recent trip to smoky mountains! Tasters? Yes!!... Let me rephrase .... FREe Tasters for days!!! Brian? I think... Was awesome .. energetic, with tons of fun related jokes and facts about the distillery and its spirits. cant wait to visit again when in the area. As if one tasting station wasnt enough., They had multiple stations throughout the distillery. And cool little items for souvenirs. the other stations had small fees. One minor thing...wish they had travel friendly little samplers for sale. Would totally have bought them!! Thank you again for the awesome samples, outstanding customer service and delicious moonshine!

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
We were eating at the old mill restaurant. They gave us an hour to wait. We went next door to old forge distillery. I skipped the tasting round and went straight to the cocktails. We ordered 5 drinks, I had the old fashioned with their bourbon. The cocktail was very good. Hit the spot. They make all of the whiskey on site. The Bourbon that I had in the old fashioned is a 7 year old whiskey aged in an American oak barrel. The bourbon was smooth for 7 years. Our server was the bomb. Well educated and was quick on his toes.

Karen D.

Yelp
I love this place! The Moonshine tasting is good and I just love the little cozy bar! Service was great! Drink was amazing! I will be back again and again!

Amy B.

Yelp
Neat little shop next to the Old Mill Restaurant to grab a drink and shop while waiting.

Abegail A.

Yelp
Visited Old Forge Distillery to taste their moonshine and visit the cocktail bar. Tasting were complimentary, but tips are of course appreciated (if you don't have cash for a tip, you can use Venmo). After showing our ID (no ID = no tasting), we received 10 super mini cups for a tasting. Choose wisely as there are 24 to choose from! Pours are definitely generous, so don't let those small cups fool you. Favorites included apple pie, banana foster, blackberry, and vanilla bean. The individual pouring for us was fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable. You could tell he really enjoys what he does and made our experience that much better. After purchasing and a couple moonshines and moonshine cherries, we visited the cocktail bar. The bar is pretty small, but there is a decent amount of seating (tables and lounge seating). Order your drink with the friendly bartender and grab it when it's ready. All cocktails (signature and Southern) are $10, which is nice. As with the moonshine tastings, you can also tip your bartender through Venmo.

Mike O.

Yelp
There seem to be a distillery on every corner of this area and this was on our walking path so we stopped in. They had a lot of different flavors on the moonshine and I think I liked the peach the best. They also had a bunch of merchandise so I picked up something that was there but didn't buy any shine.

Chris H.

Yelp
All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Chet and Rob were excellent bar tenders. Rob made thoughtful suggestions and was interested in giving the experience above and beyond the normal tasting. Chet Meade great drinks and was helpful in answering local questions. Would come back again

Scott M.

Yelp
Great staff. Great moonshine. They let you sample anything you want so you leave buying something you want

Tiffany A.

Yelp
My family and I are visiting from Florida and decided we needed to try some moonshine, we are so glad we stopped here for our tastings! Rob was AWESOME, go see him! He made our experience even better. We got to try 10 different flavors and then got to try like 6 of their cream flavored tule with Anna (she was awesome too), everything was so delicious! Overall very fun tasting, one of our favorite parts of our trip so far and loved that we're able to purchase anything we tried. Tastings are free, we of course tipped our bartenders.

Swan L.

Yelp
We had such a great time here! Old Forge Distillery had a huge selection of moonshine flavors and other liquors. Inside, there was a little bar to the right of the main store. In the store, they had many cute products and were also doing tastings of their moonshines and their premium liquors. We were surprised the moonshine tasting was free and only tipping was recommended. Each tasting came with ten little cups and you got to choose ten flavors from the menu card. Beware of the 140proof Backwoods Cut! Staff were super friendly and entertaining as they poured. Absolutely a great Tennessee thing to check out.

Lexy P.

Yelp
Cool little place to hang out. I wish I had men that looked like Rob & Ben they were both the greatest bartenders ever! They're at the cocktail lounge and made our experience 100% worth it! They were wonderful with everyone, not just our group!

David S.

Yelp
Great location next to The Mill Restaurant. Several of the moonshines are really good. Was not impressed with the tasting last night. The guy doing them was just screwing off. Decided to leave 1/2 thru it. I say that cause I was there a couple of years ago and it was really good. Not sure I'll bother going back in the future.

Jeanita O.

Yelp
I loved the lights and decor in this distillery. Overall, it was exciting tasting the free samples at each distillery in TN. Upon entering through the front door, the moonshine makes its presence known. It was surprising to learn that this distillery offers at least 50 different moonshine flavors, including cream flavors...Check it out!...By the way, The Old Mill area is a busy attraction area.

Victoria G.

Yelp
This is probably the third time we have been to Old Forge and have enjoyed it every time. Typically, we do the moonshine tastings and run tastings, and then head to dinner. This time we decided to do the rum tastings and then try Bloody Marys at the bar. The rum tastings were delicious as always, but we really enjoyed the Bloody Marys. It is a really great process as each one is personalized by choosing which rim, liquor, and vegetable topping you want. Each of the three of us got a different rim and vegetable, and we all loved them. I have never had a Bloody Mary with minced garlic in it before, and it was delicious. We even bought a bottle of the mix from the gift shop. Our bartenders for the rum tastings and the bar were great, friendly, and generous with everything. It's a super fun atmosphere, without anyone being obnoxious or causing any problems. We can't wait to come back.

Brendon M.

Yelp
By far my favorite distillery. Vanilla bean is out of this world!! Prices are comparable to everyone else Staff is always friendly and ready to have a good time.

Kelly G.

Yelp
This place is great! The creams are delicious. They are so personable and are a joy to be doing tastings with. Loved the cocktail sitting area.

Dan I.

Yelp
Awesome place, Awesome people and free moonshine tasting. How could anyone not love this place. Did end up buying $100 in clothing and moonshine, but well worth it. Good job on hiring the right people! This is what makes a difference in business.

Hubert D.

Yelp
When I told my friend that I would be visiting Pigeon Forge, he added a request for me to come here for some Moonshine. My visit was during the winter months so this area is not as busy. The parking was easy for me. However, I can see it being hard when this location is warmer. Walking inside and you are welcomed with a lot of Moonshine. I believe there is a bar right when you entered. However, there is a tasting bar in the back. During this visit, you were allowed to have 10 sampling of Moonshine. As tempted as I was to try 10... I only tried a few of them. Amaretto was amazing especially since I am a fan of Disaronno. Banana Foster tasted like artificial bananas with a hint of vanilla. French Toast was like drinking maple syrup. The person working the bar recommended Orange and Margarita mix. Since my wife was my DD...I tried it on her behalf, and I know she would love this. As a result, we got Amaretto, Bananas Foster, and Orange. Overall, I would love to come here and stock up again in the future. I am hoping I can get these back in Chicagoland though.

A D.

Yelp
Been here twice ... they have 3 set ups one for moonshine, one for the liquors, and one for the creamy. They also have some interesting gifts and souvenirs. We got some moonshine infused peanut brittle we've also gotten the old forge 120 proof moonshine before.

Jaclyn K.

Yelp
I wasn't the biggest fan of the Pigeon Forge area, until we discovered this place! It is in a quaint little shopping plaza that is wooden and feels very cozy. The area had plenty of parking, wasn't overly packed, and had a lot of little local shops to explore. We had been to the Island the day before, and I much preferred this area. Much less touristy, and way more of a local, chill feel. The distillery is so cute, and you really feel like you're in a cozy log cabin. When you walk in to the right there is a little nook with cocktails and some seating. I got the moonshine cider and hubby got a Smore cocktail-both were delicious! The cider wasn't too sweet and was garnished with a cinnamon stick and dried fruit. Further back to the right you can get free tastings of the moonshine. Each person does 8 little samples, and the free part makes it even better! After we got toasty we explored the shop and took home a chocolate moonshine for $27. Looking forward to our liquid desserts!

Beau C.

Yelp
Generous pours, up to 10 tastes. They have 5 clear shines all with a different flavor profile. I liked the corn. Only place I have been able to get white dog (140 proof) they call it backwoods cut. Comes straight from the still. Great for infusing fruit. They don't ship so you gotta get it while you are there. Of the flavored we liked the French toast and vanilla. All in all they have 27 flavors. The flavored shines are 60 proof and the original is 100 proof and the backwoods is 130+, my bottle was 140.

Mariann M.

Yelp
Stopped by this place on my way through Tennessee. Super friendly staff and delicious moonshine! Also pickled asparagus was bomb too! Oatmeal cookie moonshine was my favorite! Yummy & potentially dangerous.

Chris C.

Yelp
Man, incredible moonshine. The tastings are great, they're free so tip generously (they do venmo if you're short cash). Purchase prices are a bit high, but I mean, it's some seriously good stuff, so if you're gonna spend the $$ on shine, this is a good place for it. A must drop in while here!!

Josette S.

Yelp
First time in Pigeon Forge and definitely not my last thanks to this fabulous distillery. We went to many distilleries in the 8 days we were out there and Old Forge was definitely my favorite. The woman behind the bar giving us the tasting was really great. She gave great descriptions and gave us tastings of a variety of things that ranged from moonshine (of course), to gin, to bourbon. My favorite was the grapefruit thyme moonshine. Mama Mia, was it good! So good I bought a bottle. Unfortunately it seems they will be discontinuing this selection of herb infused fruit infused moonshine. Also the 136 proof moonshine was not only strong, chest hair growing strong, but actually not too rough on the taste either. We ended up buying those two bottles, but they won't be our last. I truly loved this distiller and the staff!

Nicholas P.

Yelp
We did a moonshine tasting with Rob!! He was very entertaining and fun. There were about 15 of us at the counter at once and he really tried to make connections / make jokes with all of us. He was our favorite part of the night! THANKS ROB! (your new friends from florida)

Angie P.

Yelp
Old Forge Distillery is the place to be! Stop by and have a few shots of moonshine. It's free and oh so good! Make sure to give them a nice tip! Very fun bunch of people! Rob is my favorite bartender! He is super friendly and knows everything there is to know about moonshine! Tell him Angie, Angel and Tiffany sent you! By the way, if you don't have cash readily available for the tip, you can Venmo!

Kevin B.

Yelp
We came here back in 2017 and we really enjoyed our visit. They have a variety of moonshines available, but their best ones were their cream moonshines. We've had several of these over the years and the Peaches and Cream and Haystack are the best ones we've had. We definitely recommend coming here if you're in town!

Nancy N.

Yelp
Great fun!!! Tasty. A must do when visiting. Plus buy some rootbeer for floats. All flavors are great!!!

Ameya D.

Yelp
Access: easy to get to. Nearby free parking available. Walk from the pigeon forge town Building: old forge, a blacksmith nearby adds to the charm Inside: a fair bit crowded, and there is a lot of merchandise to sell that makes it harder to move around. It looks cluttered, and quite a bit touristy, but you kinda expect that walking in so doesn't come as a surprise. The moonshine: 24 flavors. You get 10 samplings and it's free. Don't forget to tip the bartender for all their funny / witty comments as they pour the shine all day. Good moonshines with plenty of changes in taste as well as sweetness. Favourites: elder flower. Quite a hint, can't wait to mix it with gin n tonic Banana, an unusual flavor Coffee, a bit like cafe patron Overall a solid

Kayla B.

Yelp
Went to the Distillery while waiting for our table at the Old Mill. Fell in love that we even had to come back another day for a cocktail! Such a cute atmosphere inside where you can order drinks. Also did moonshine tasting and the flavors are unique (oatmeal cookie, vanilla bean, French toast). The Vanilla Bean moonshine was delicious! The Old Forge Distillery is a must visit as well as the other shops within the Old Mill District.

Danny T.

Yelp
Great place! Very nice people, definitely drop by this nice establishment! Denise and Kaylene are so much fun!

Enit S.

Yelp
I think everyone can agree that the allure to old forge distillery is the free samples of moonshine. You can sample the regular variety or the cream styles, or both if you are so inclined. Unlike old smoky, you're not required to pay anything to do the tastings, but I'll tell ya; I personally didn't think these tasted as good, but you decide for yourself. Other than the booze, it's a great souvenir shop, and like you've read in other reviews, the people are SUPER friendly.

Amanda A.

Yelp
Got there about 2 pm on a Wednesday and parking was a nightmare and we almost left. I'm so glad we didn't. The girl at the counter where you taste the creams was disinterested and completely ignored us, and we almost left again. But once we made our way to the tasting bar, our experience got better! Shines were delicious! Not overly sugary and sweet, and a great balance.

Crystal O.

Yelp
I have been to a few moonshine distilleries in the area and this one had the best samples! I chuckled over the rules of no sharing and only 8 samples out of the 16 flavors! Because I totally wanted to share with my GF!!! The store is packed full of delightful libations and plenty of swag to sport! I bought a magnet and patch- yesssss they had patches! And was so close to buying the vanilla bean moonshine! I had already spent a lot locally and was having a hard time justifying the mason jar of liquid YUM! And that was just the moonshine- then they had rum samples too- I LOVE RUM! ugh~ tease me! Root beer was my fav from those creamy rum samples! And the boozy ice cream right there next to the rum- come ON! I escaped barely- with my little purchases, but next time- especially after trying other local distilleries- I will be making my purchases there! For SURE!

Mary Kate E.

Yelp
I like Old Forge Distillery. I think more than anything I liked their tasting room more than the actual sampling experience. Rob was a lot of fun and super enthusiastic. He made the tasting fun and engaging with his lively banter. I felt that the moonshine was good, but some of it didn't appeal to me. Price-wise, it was slightly more expensive than Old Smokey and Sugarland, but only by $2.99 per mason jar. They have a lot of varying flavors that suit any palette and they get creative with the flavors as well. The tasting room was a lot of fun and simple. I liked the decor and ambiance. The bartender was nice, but it bothered me that they can't accept tips on the card. I do not carry cash with me and felt terrible that I could not provide that. It should be considered so they can get paid as well. I'd imagine I am not the only one who has that. Located across the street from Old Mill restaurant, this is a good place to go kill time while you have an hour and a half wait for your table. Take it from someone who enjoyed getting a good buzz before dinner. Be mindful, I wouldn't go out of my way to bring kids here. I am crass and and the company is no different with patrons and the person running the moonshine show. I would recommend keeping it adult only or bringing kids who are younger and might not grasp the humor of the adults. Preferably, I'd rather you just leave your kids somewhere else altogether so I do not have to listen to them while I am drinking. That's my take. Sincerely, a single woman with no kids. I will be returning.

Paul G.

Yelp
This place was great. The tasting experience was a lot of fun and very informative. The store offered a lot of cute options for souvenirs and gifts. I'd recommend anybody looking for a moonshine experience to check this one out.

Kat S.

Yelp
The free tastings are well organized. They move quickly but don't rush you if you have questions. The staff was entertaining and knowledgeable. Favorites were the elderflower and oatmeal cookie--two flavors that I didn't see at other distilleries across town.

Ruann L.

Yelp
What fun! Rob (which is Bor backwards) was our bartender and he was a hoot! Fun. Funny. Entertaining. Informative and truly convincing. We laughed! One comment that came from the group is "this will increase co-worker interaction right here". The flavor profiles were fantastic! Coffee, Oatmeal Cookie, BlackBerry were by far the stars. Free taste testing was definitely the star of the show. Anyone over 21 can taste all 10 of the flavors! I also added Vodka which was a bit sharp. For a few bucks people can taste Rock Rye and Gin. Lots of trinkets to buy. Stickers, corks, patches, coasters, openers, glasses, tshirts, etc. Definitely worth the stop. The surrounding shops are also worth venturing into!
