José Andrés’ America Eats Tavern Finds New Home at Georgetown’s Old Glory - Eater DC

"Old Glory’s ownership group Capitol Restaurant Concepts (J. Paul’s, Paolo’s Ristorante) will stay on board, with Georgetown restaurateur Bechara Nammour named a partner in the forthcoming venture. It’s unclear how, and if, the design of the existing space will change; Old Glory’s rooftop bar — a rare perk for Georgetown — has drawn droves of drinkers over its 26-year history." - Tierney Plumb

Georgetown Barbecue Restaurant Old Glory Has Closed - Eater DC

"Long-standing Georgetown watering hole and smoked meat purveyor Old Glory has closed. “On Sunday, February 25, 2018, we made the extremely tough and sad decision to close Old Glory BBQ for good,” management wrote in a farewell note posted at the restaurant. A member of the Capitol Restaurant Concepts family of eateries, Old Glory drew fans of dry-rubbed spare ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, and spice-crusted, extra smoky burnt ends. It gained some fame a few years back thanks to its “Big Belly Burger,” a gourmet burger topped with pork belly, green chili sauce, and a fried egg. The low-key restaurant also built a loyal following among bourbon drinkers by awarding plaques to customers who successfully worked their way through the bar’s collection of brown liquor within a year." - Warren Rojas

I tried the salad that everyone recommend, it was alright - nothing special. The bartender was more interested at talking to his co-workers in the corner of the bar than taking care of the customers. Don't think I will be coming back

Excellent BBQ, great variety of drinks - including solid beers on tap and a milkshake with a ton of whiskey. Really nice outdoor seating in the square there and excellent service. We had a somewhat long wait for our food because of a mixup in the kitchen and the waitress had our bill reduced to make up for it, which was appreciated but not necessary. Look forward to going back next time I'm in town.
