"The Harbor was seriously lacking in the steakhouse department, but Old Hickory Steakhouse solved that problem. Mainly because of the bison steak, which is one of the juiciest cuts we’ve ever had. It’s inside the Gaylord hotel and like everything there, the space is big and over-the-top, making it perfect for a fancy dinner on the corporate card after a long day of meetings. The restaurant is usually full of hotel guests, especially if there’s a conference happening, but there are four dining rooms, including one that’s waterfront-adjacent, which is beautiful at sunset. We visited for breakfast on a quiet weekday. The host was welcoming, but the waitstaff seemed disorganized, due to them being union apparently they were trying to figure out who's turn it was to serve the next table. After a considerable wait of them trying to figure it out, the host ended up serving us coffee. The food was good, and the restaurant was beautiful, but overall, the service experience was very disappointing. We won't be returning.

We visited the National Gaylord this weekend & decided to dine-in this restaurant and we were not disappointed at all! The food as well as the service was excellent! So great, we ended up there the next morning for another one of their excellent meals!

We had a group of 6 of us here during the Gardner conference at the end of March. We had reservations at 6:45. The place was pretty much empty. Food and service were excellent. Pricey, but worth it.

We wanted a great meal and found it here! With the many steakhouse options in the DMV we tend to forget about the good ole reliable hotel Steakhouses. I too am guilty, admittedly not having stepped foot in the Gaylord National Harbor in over 6 years! The food was fabulous, and the service was excellent. Our server Ruben's recommendations were fantastic. We loved and went with every single one of them starting with the Baked Maryland Lump Crab Dip. The crab dip was thick, creamy, and piping hot with large chunks of fresh lump crab meat. For entrees, we had the Tournedos Rossini and the Old Hickory Crabcakes. The steak was extremely tender, luxurious, and flavorful. The Crabcakes were meaty, juicy, well-seasoned, and golden brown. The bill was not small by any means, but reasonable for a steakhouse. Old Hickory was an experience. From the food to the class and charm of the staff. It's an experience I will be having again and again. This place is worth every penny!

We went to the Old Hickory for my mother's birthday. First let me start off by saying the resturant is absolutely beautiful, and the staff was very nice and friendly. We started with the crab dip and bread. The bread was good with the butter and the crab dip was OK. Our party ordered the pork chop, crab cakes and cauliflower steak along with mac and cheese, brussel spouts and pototoes. The crab cakes were ok, the cauliflower steak and pork chop were not good at all. The seasoning and the flavors of the food was horrible. One member of our party ordered dessert, and the item ordered was a slice of lemon meringue pie. We all tasted the pie; the members in my party did not like the pie but I thought it was OK. Beautiful resturant, but I definitely will not be returning.

Loved the dinner at the Old Hickory. Food was amazing. Staff was prompt and thoughtful. Never had to ask for anything as the waiter was there immediately. We had steak (ribeye and Filet) both cooked excellent. My wife loved the bread and butter. They even boxed up extra to take home. The tuna tartar was delicious.

I eat at a lot of high-end steakhouses, but this place is really one of my favorites. The food is absolutely fantastic, and it's no surprise that almost every president of the United States has dined here. Just talk to Joe, the bartender. He has met them all! The steak is incredible as you would expect, but I would especially recommend the compound garlic butter. It's just on another level altogether. As for the sides, I would recommend the Mac and Cheese. As for veggies, I would recommend the Brussel Sprouts and the Asparagus. And for seafood lovers, the Maryland lump Crabcake is fantastic as well. More importantly, the people here are so delightful, and it's amazing that I feel like they are extended family. They remember me and what I like, even though I only come once a year! If you are nearby, I would strongly recommend at night or at the Old Hickory Steakhouse. I only come here once a year for a big convention at the Gaylord Hotel, so it's a rare one a year treat for me. Sadly, it has been under construction during the convention, and as such, I was unable to attend last year. All I can say is that I am happy to be back, and the renovation is incredible. If you have not been here in a while, you should see it.
