The 7 Best National Harbor Restaurants & Bars

"The Harbor was seriously lacking in the steakhouse department, but Old Hickory Steakhouse solved that problem. Mainly because of the bison steak, which is one of the juiciest cuts we’ve ever had. It’s inside the Gaylord hotel and like everything there, the space is big and over-the-top, making it perfect for a fancy dinner on the corporate card after a long day of meetings. The restaurant is usually full of hotel guests, especially if there’s a conference happening, but there are four dining rooms, including one that’s waterfront-adjacent, which is beautiful at sunset. Google
One of my best breakfast options when in New Harbor , best in class no complaints. Omelets are nice and fluffy, plenty of vegetables, thick slice of bacon not crisp but heat flavor. Prices are not bad even for hotel restaurant. Highly recommend , foods is way better than dinner in my experience buy food that look at my dinner review. Netsi did an awesome job serving my takes on one, foods came out quickly and tasted really good.

Google
Excellent restaurant! July 4th weekend in D.C. The restaurant is in the Gaylord. The food, service, and atmosphere are all wonderful. We brought our kids, and they enjoyed it as well. It was a later dinner, and so we ordered the hanger steak, the braised short ribs, my aunt ordered the 1/2 roasted chicken. Everything was delicious, and the flavors were very good. I especially love the decor, theme and atmosphere was sophisticated but comfortable. A definite must try if at the National Harbor or staying at the Gaylord.

Google
Wonderful dining experience! Servers were attentive, manager checked in on us, ambiance was clean and modern, and the food was phenomenal!! 1000/10 recommend. Thank you for a wonderful time! (They also validate parking for 3 hours- just make sure you use the Gaylord parking garage and not a public ones in National Harbor)

Google
Excellent choice when staying at the Gaylord National Harbor! Attentive, friendly service from Happy & other wait staff. All of our food & drinks were delicious, including 2 different salads, crab dip & cosmos... the bread served at the table is a must try! Nice ambiance, elevated pricing, but average for that area. Had wonderful conversation & service from the bartenders too. Would definitely return!

Google
Decided to give this a try for breakfast. Food was solid, service was very friendly, and all of the decor inside is very nice. I think the only sticking point for me was the price for this being four and not five stars. Total bill for two was over 80 with tip and even at nicer places in DC I'm not used to breakfast going much above 50 to 60. Otherwise it's not a bad choice considering the options in the area.

Google
My wife and I had an incredible experience coming here! The reviews made me hesitate on coming here and I assumed we needed a reservation for a table. We were greeted by very friendly staff as a walk-in and were offered a table in less than 10 minutes. Our waiter was very kind, professional, and helped made our experience even better! I believe his name was Patrico? I apologize if I got the name wrong. He upgraded my wine when they didn’t have what I wanted available. He even gave us a small surprise of incredible milk and white chocolates after our meals! We left very full and satisfied. I believe this was one of the most incredible crab cakes I’ve ever experienced and the duck was incredibly remarkable. You take a bite and you walk into an experience of flavor. It was a very remarkable fine dining experience that will leave my wife and I very happy memories. Highly recommend this restaurant with this waiter. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We went for a celebration so we had a large group of about 20 people. Service was phenomenal! I did not get to take many photos but we had the following at our table: Charcuterie board - yummy, if only I didn’t have braces on, I would’ve killled it. Bone marrow - had it for the first time. It tasted good. Bread and pineapple butter 10/10 - I loveeee bread!! And this was so delicious, especially the butter! The sweetness of the pineapple jelly made it all the better. I would’ve ordered more if I could. (Me) Filet mignon and crab cake 10/10 - this was really good and chef cooked it to perfection, just like I asked - medium well. Crab cake was great too! (Husband) Wagyu Oscar style 8/10 - aged 4 years, tasted very good. He asked for it medium and it was nice and tender. Roasted Asparagus side 9/10 - it looked like it was crunchy but it was actually very tender and not chewy! Great for my braces. I had a mocktail and my husband had a smoked old fashion. Loved it! Atmosphere was nice, great for a dinner date. We would totally return when we’re in the Gaylord again!

Google
The food was phenomenal. After being at a conference all day and having lots of snacks, I opted for a lighter dinner consisting of caesar salad, it's called my creamed spinach, and a french onion potato. The freshly made rosemary bread along with the sweet butter, was delicious period followed by. It's the best cream spinach I have ever encountered. If you like french onion soup, you would love this potato. The caesar salad was a light portion, but just enough with the large side dishes.

Yelp
This is a mix of a two meal experience .. both unique. First dinner. We started with bread and salads. The usual. Then we moved to crab cakes ... amazing. So much crab with very little filling. The meal was family style for us .. salmon, chicken, asparagus, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The chicken was super tasty .. loved the spices. The Mac and cheese was cooked perfectly.. creamy in the middle with a crispy crust on top..the asparagus was cooked al dente (or perfect). Enjoyed the dinner!! The lunch was not so successful. The hamburger bun fell apart, and the hamburger itself was not seasoned well. The French fries were 75% of the $30 plate. Lunch, I did not enjoy. The service was excellent at both meals. The restaurant is well decorated .. loved the bar! The location is loud though. People talking reverbs throughout the space.

Yelp
Food was okay, we had the Charcuterie board for the appetizer, spilt the 18oz bone-in ribeye with Brussel sprouts, Requested the steak medium rare but it came medium well. Sprouts were delicious and the bread with honey butter was nice. Charcuterie board was great loved the fig jelly. Very busy and loud Service was okay refilled our drive no after we were finished with the meal. Took awhile to pay for our meal. Price $$$$

Yelp
Met an ex-coworker here who was attending a conference. I had had pot roast the night before and was having a steak dinner the next night, so I opted for fish. I know, I know, it's crazy to order fish in a steak restaurant. But I have no regrets! Bread came out warm with a creative salted whipped butter. So yummy! First I started with the kale salad and it was excellent. Light and healthy and the perfect starter. The Ora King salmon with sauce on side was also excellent although not crazy about the mussels. Loved the rice.
google avatar

Alauna A.

Yelp
For the prices at this place, you'd expect the food to be exceptional. In my opinion, it was just decent; I definitely think it could be better for the cost. On a positive note, our waiter was very kind and attentive. I ordered the Ora King Salmon, which I found to be pretty good (rate: 7/10).

Yelp
Staying at the Gaylord and my local cousins joined us for breakfast. We had 4 adults and one child. There was no wait and was told no reservations are required for breakfast. We were greeted friendly ally our waitress, who took our order but I'm not sure she was fully listening. My cousin ordered an omelet that comes with cheese - no cheese was included. My mom ordered eggs over medium but they arrived overcooked. My child cousin ordered toast but he never received it. Thankfully he had breakfast before coming and decided he didn't want toast. I ordered steak and eggs but no eggs. The waitress convinced my cousin to take my eggs but then brought them out on my plate. Despite all of that the food was good. Not amazing just good. I guess I expected more from a fine dining establishment. Also note... they did away with their Sunday brunch menu back in November. Plus I saw online (not on the Gaylord website) about a breakfast buffet and did not see that as well.

Branka D.

Yelp
For the prices, you expect a lot better. The service was great. But the food in general was not particularly impressive and it was unclear which dishes could serve 2 versus 1. We were also told there was parking validation for 3 hours but it only discounted $14 from the garage. There are nicer places that are actually cheaper but the food is better. Would not visit again.

Yelp
Food was not good. Old and greasy Service was slow Ambiance was very nice and luxurious

Yelp
Had some wine and food at the bar. Everything was very good. The server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Yelp
Every time my husband came back from a deployment; we'd stay 4-7 days at the Gaylord, Old Hickory was our meal of choice every time. Food was always great! Fast forward, post COVID and things have definitely changed. They should've left things the way they were!

Yelp
I sat at the bar for lunch and was served very well with good conversation and an attentiveness by Sy. I ordered the tomato soup and the crab cake with a glass of Merlot. While I Will say it was a bit pricey with the soup at $16 and the crab cake app with an arugula salad at $32. The arugula salad was literally a garnishment when I mentioned wanting a little more with no hesitation Sy went to the kitchen and brought a few sprinkles more. This place was convenient and the service superb.

Yelp
Seated very quickly next to the window. We could see the Ferris wheel in the distance. The restaurant is very fancy and more for a special occasion. The tomato bread was paired with honey butter from the hives on the hotel roof. The crab dip was cheesy and warm. Salmon was cooked nicely but the veg was a little sad

Yelp
This place had outstanding service! Our server Marc was very knowledgeable about the menu and accommodating to any modifications needed. He made great recommendations. It's very classy and sophisticated inside. We were out by the window that had a partial bay view. But the ambiance was very nice. Now the food was 9.5 out of 10. The scallops were phenomenal along with the cool fruity salad, definitely my favorite dish. The wagyu with the black garlic butter was amazing! I should have asked for the butter to go now the blackened cod was okay. It wasn't very blackened but cooked well. And the bed of black rice and kale underneath was delicious. Drinks were fantastic too! Would highly recommend

Yelp
We wanted a great meal and found it here! With the many steakhouse options in the DMV we tend to forget about the good ole reliable hotel Steakhouses. I too am guilty, admittedly not having stepped foot in the Gaylord National Harbor in over 6 years! The food was fabulous, and the service was excellent. Our server Ruben's recommendations were fantastic. We loved and went with every single one of them starting with the Baked Maryland Lump Crab Dip. The crab dip was thick, creamy, and piping hot with large chunks of fresh lump crab meat. For entrees, we had the Tournedos Rossini and the Old Hickory Crabcakes. The steak was extremely tender, luxurious, and flavorful. The Crabcakes were meaty, juicy, well-seasoned, and golden brown. The bill was not small by any means, but reasonable for a steakhouse. Old Hickory was an experience. From the food to the class and charm of the staff. It's an experience I will be having again and again. This place is worth every penny!

Yelp
We spent the weekend at the Gaylord and attended a wine and dinner event at this restaurant. Even though the event was scheduled for 6-8, we didn't get seated until 6:30. And then we waited a bit more for it to start and for the wine to be served. It would've been nice if they served some wine as soon as we were seated since we waited a while again for things to start (sparkling maybe?). But besides that, everything from then onwards was awesome! Barrel Oak Winery presented their wines with each dish especially prepared by the chefs at Old Hickory. They even prepared a vegetarian menu for my husband! The food was so delicious, starting with an amuse bouche, then beet salad, halibut and then short ribs, ending with a pear mousse dessert. Each wine pairing was also so delicious and perfect! As a foodie, I was truly happy and so glad we went! I told the event coordinators I'd be happy to attend anytime they held this event! We'll also be visiting Oak Barrel Winery in VA soon! Bravo!

Yelp
The food especially truffle potatoes, scallops, fish pretty much everything was amazing. Nice drinks too. It's a little pricey but it's to be expected. It's a beautiful setting and you can see the atrium of the hotel. Very nice set up! The service is excellent. I wish I could remember the name of our one particular waiter who was exceptional. We were there for dinner during my PES conference June 14th I believe.

Yelp
Bring back the tablecloths! After that, the food was delicious. Hands-down, one of the best locations in DC for dinner. The restaurant is humongous and airy with a beautiful decor and amazing, gentle, friendly staff people. We had the best view in the restaurant next to the patio and overlooking Potomac and the Ferris wheel. I am so happy we chose that location. But bring back the white tablecloths seriously. If a server is going to place your flatware for each meal, it shouldn't spin around on a wooden table. My kale salad was delicious and light and filling and large! I enjoyed the vinaigrette that came on it, but I typically get my dressing on the side. But I did not mind it. They actually garnished it perfectly. My partner had the wedge salad and he said he enjoyed it. Our particular favorite delight were the Peruvian peppers in both of our salads. I must find the seeds and grow my own! My appetizer was the crabcake and it came with the delicious light, lemon sauce and corn and the Peruvian red peppers. Hardy no filler and garnished with lovely greens on top. it was full of flavor and just delightful to eat. My partner had the fillet steak with asparagus. He said the steak was amazing and I did taste a bit of it and indeed perfectly cooked and seasoning highlighted the meat. My cauliflower steak was wonderful although I would order it again. I would also remove the olive tapenade that was on it. It was entirely too salty for my taste. We also ordered a side of bernaise and oxtail sauces so putting that oxtail sauce over my cauliflower steak and mushrooms was the perfect way to eat it after removing the tapenade. I think I was most disappointed by the bread. It was not served warm and in fact, it was quite chewy that we could hardly eat it with delicious honey butter. That was most disappointing. Overall, The restaurant, the servers, the location, the table, the view, the meal-- Everything was wonderful. We left no room for dessert though. I can't wait to go back and get steak !

Yelp
This is a great place to go for dinner. Lunch was fine, but I enjoyed the dinner menu better (because I don't care for fries with my steak). The waiter was polite and prompt. I love the dinner steak here. It was cooked perfectly. It's not a bad choice for a date night. Depending on where you sit, you might be able to see stage performers at the Gaylord or a waterfront view.

Yelp
Beautiful, clean restaurant. Service was decent. Nice menu with good variety of food for everyone. Located inside the Gaylord Hotel.

Yelp
I have dined at all the Old Hickory locations at the Gaylord Resorts, and they are very consistent with good food, service, and ambiance. It's a great venue to take clients to dinner after industry conventions and tradeshows here at the Gaylord. The first night was cocktails and steaks, and the next morning, they served really good breakfasts. Don't sleep on this place.

Yelp
A nice upscale restaurant. Excellent food but rather expensive expensive expensive expensive

Yelp
The setting view and vibe are just amazing The servers were super polite and attentive, and so was the maitre de. She kept going around asking if everything was OK. Chatted amiably Salad bar is really well done. Soups were a letdown. Meat variety and availability are massive Except chicken is only one skewer. He ran out and went to get it, didn't come for the entire hour we were there I just flipped my order to salads only at that point. Dulce de leche was ok, chocolate cake was good.

Yelp
My daughter and I had the tomahawk steak which was cooked to perfection. Having the chef carve and plate it before our eyes was an added bonus. Our server, Ruben, made us fill like royalty. His recommendation of the sangria was spot on and so was his personality. We come here once a year and are never disappointed...already looking forward to dining here again next year. No, it's not inexpensive but it's completely worth it and yes, we deserve to treat ourselves. The atmosphere is great! Depending on where you're sitting, you can see the Gaylord tree lighting while dining. Also, we didn't have to leave the resort to enjoy such a wonderful experience!

Yelp
Came here to try the restaurant for brunch for the first time. Was very pleased on how nice looking and professional the staff was. Jennifer was excellent and helped us walk through the new menu... I attached screenshots and the many choices this restaurant offered. We ended up getting the Old Hickory Breakfast and The Potomac Beet Hash. Both were very good. This restaurant is located within the wonderful Gaylord Reston in the National Harbor. Strongly recommend for the restaurants quiet and luxurious setting and beauty. Highly recommended

Yelp
I am a guest at the Gaylord Hotel. I'm a single woman traveling alone for a conference. I hadn't planned on leaving the hotel during my trip. I went down to the Old Hickory yesterday afternoon about 2:30pm to get lunch. The older woman working at the front of the restaurant appeared to be picking up menus or books or something and I wasn't sure if they were closing. I said I'd like to get a table for lunch. She stated lunch was over however the bar was open. I stated I was really looking for something to eat. I asked her if there was any other restaurants that I could get lunch at. She stated 'yes you go out the front door and cross the street and there about 2,000 restaurants out there.' I was shocked. I was jet lagged from traveling and hungry. I decided to just wander around to find something. I found a lovely little place several blocks away by the water. They had friendly staff and good food. However it was quite cold and I didn't bring a jacket with me because I wasn't planning on leaving the hotel. What makes her snotty comment worse is that there are other places to eat inside this hotel, which I found today. I really expected better from a restaurant inside the hotel. That's certainly not a way to get clients to come back.

Nathan H.

Yelp
Bar none, the worst filet I have ever had in my life. These people should literally not be making steak for a living. Don't waste your time or money.

Yelp
My gf's and I were overdue for a girl's brunch out! So we decided to come to Old Hickory since I believe it just opened back up with a new brunch option. They start serving brunch at 11:30 so we had a reservation for that time (please note if someone in your party doesn't show they stated they will charge a $25 fee for that person). I was the first one to arrive from my party at 11:20, so I checked us in. There was another large group who arrived a little after me. They also checked in. When my GF's arrived, we wanted to inform the waitress that our entire party had arrived. We were overlooked several times without any acknowledgment. After walking up to the lady and having to speak loudly, she then noticed us. We were seated (after the large party), and the waitress apologized for some sort of mixed up. The decor has a very old fashion appeal, which I wasn't a fan of. However, where we were seated was next to an open balcony that overlooked the hotel, which was pretty nice. The food was delicious I enjoyed everything that I had. The appetizers come family style in charcuterie style. My favorite had to be the lobster rolls! So delicious and buttery and flavorful! Just yum! For my entree I got the crab cake Benedict, which was pretty good; however, because they didn't (throughout the entire visit) bring enough silverware my eggs got cold and hardened up, so it really wasn't a Benedict. Desserts is also shared family style and brought out in a nice display board, which was pretty good as well. My gf's wasn't pleased with their food any at all. One dish was served cold, and the other one didn't like the taste. Overall I did enjoy; but I probably wouldn't come back.

Yelp
Disappointed. I was so excited to visit this steakhouse and I was left completely disappointed. The steaks were small and flavorless. Water was left empty. The staff forgot part of our order. The ambiance is nice, but not at the sacrifice of food and service. The one redeeming quality was the bread and butter, but the fact that the free items were the best part of the meal makes me sad.
google avatar

Jordan H.

Yelp
Staff just doesn't want to be here. At all. From the host station to the servers you just annoy them by even existing. For a "steakhouse" this has to be the worst service I have ever experienced. Ate here twice, well once, while on this stay. First time dinner where the server literally walked away mid question from one of us about the menu. Walked away! The second time was a breakfast reservation that was seated late, and after 40 minutes still no server to be found. We all left. You have thousands of people with corporate cards every single day. You're just printing tip money if you put even a LITTLE bit of effort. Place sucks.

Yelp
My family and I visited Old Hickory for the Mother's Day Brunch - $85 a person - and were VERY disappointed. Mildred, our waitress, was very preoccupied by her family and friends that were visiting her for her Mother's Day and it seemed as if we were not a priority as the guests. As an example - we had all visited the buffet, which was lovely and well stocked, and had been been sitting with empty plates for over 15 minutes when she informed us that was now going to be putting in our order for entrees. It took an additional 20 minutes for the entrees to be served. And when they were served - Two of my family members had ordered the quiche off of the menu - both of these quiches were delivered to our table SEVERELY UNDERCOOKED. There was running liquid egg. Mildred never came by the table to check on us to see how our meals were until she came to deliver the check. Also - if that's not enough! When first arriving to the table - my chair and the floor under the table was FILTHY! There were chucks of food and crumbs all over both.

Yelp
First time here. Our waiter was Marc. We freaking love Marc. Everyone should be like Marc. He wanted to make sure we had a great dinner and made us feel so special. Love him. The restaurant is in the Gaylord and it is very clean, absolutely love the old fashioned decor, and we were sat right near the window where you can see the Ferris wheel . Bread and honey butter was what dreams are made of, Maryland charcuterie board was sooooooooo good. PLEASE GET THE SMOKED SMITHSONIAN DRINK!!! Also the Riverside breeze drink was so good I don't usually like to drink alcohol but this drink was so flavorful and went well with the entree too. I got the shrimp and Pork belly entree and my husband got the Old Hickory Bourbon brined pork chop. This is one of my favorite restaurants I have been to to date. We will be back.

Nicole S.

Yelp
We went to dinner tonight. We had a reservation and waited only a few minutes. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous!!! We also had lunch there yesterday and it was top notch from service to amazing food! Tonight Lily was our server. She wasn't very pleasant and annoyed us. Mommy ordered the lamb. She didn't want any soup or salad as she wanted to be able to eat her entree. There were 4 of us and we ordered 3 sides and entrees etc. When Lily was taking the order my mom asked for the lamb and Lily asked her... soup or salad? My mom was confused knowing it doesn't come with the meal and said salad. We interrupted and asked do you want the salad? She didn't so we said no salad and Lily of course ordered it. I'm not knit picking but Lily was just trying to get the bill higher for her tip!!! If she had asked all of us it would've brought the bill up close to $80 or more. Here's the thing. We tip well. I can count on less than 1 hand where I didn't tip less than 18% for servers like Lily. She ruined it for herself. Would I go back? Yes. The food and ambience is spectacular but I wouldn't have Lily as a server.

Yelp
This is the most expensive meal that I have had in quite some time. And one that I honestly didn't have to pay for when looking back at this. After a very long day of prep work for a training convention, my friend and I were looking for a place to grab a meal. I wanted something substantial, something that I had to eat with actual utensils, something proper. Of all the places within this resort complex, This seem to fit the bill. Showing up here, prior to the start of the dinner rush, we just wanted to grab a quick meal. When we approached the host stand we were asked if we had a reservation and if we were staying with the resort. It's funny to be asked if we had a reservation for an odd time that no one asks for reservations. Granted, we weren't dressed to kill, honestly we looked worn from our day, but when we were started to venture to our seat, it almost felt deliberate as to where we were being lead. We traversed the entirety of the restaurant before being sat in a room with no one else in it (later, more people would be sat here, but that was towards the end of our meal). I can't be certain if we were sat there on purpose, out of sight, out of mind type of thing. But we did feel isolated and almost an afterthought of it all. Looking over the menu I wasn't really looking for extravagant, I was looking for substance. Like a full meal, one that was already pieced together and not one where I had to make too many decisions as to pair sides to a steak. So, in the long haul, I went to a steakhouse and got chicken. I went with their Freebird Farms Chicken Breast. I liked the way everything was already paired together. Chicken breast, farro, carrots. Sounds like a complete meal to me. The chicken was place on top of the neatly placed farro, the carrots of rainbow variety were few and placed right next to the mound, then the pan jus, which was tasty, kind of was there. It all tasted delicious while eating the meal. Which, would become a meal that I would revisit throughout my stay, at least in part. Working at a training conference where there were planned meals, you get tired of chicken. Each meal consisted of this chicken, mixed with various sides, but it was the same exact chicken. By the time I was finished with this stay, it made me regret getting the chicken. I'm not sure what went wrong with the meal. Was it the chicken, farro, carrots, bread? Not sure, but later that night, I didn't feel so well and had to rush to a bathroom. Really regrettable that I wasn't really able to enjoy a nice sit down meal.

Yelp
Absolutely Fabulous!!! The ambience is so cozy and beautiful. The professionalism from the entire staff was impeccable very attentive and accommodating. Thank you My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary along with New Year's Eve. OMG! there's not enough things that I can say about this place. The food is top choice. The drinks are out of this world I could go on and on just do yourself the pleasure when you're in Washington DC at the National Harbor donot pass up a chance to dine at this absolutely gorgeous restaurant. With standout views of this beautiful hotel. Thank you again for a memorable New Year's eve 2025!!

Yelp
Just had breakfast at this restaurant because we are staying in the hotel. The price point is way way too much! $16 for a bowl of oatmeal is more than I paid pretty much anywhere in the world that I've traveled!... The service was very good though and the quality of food was good also. However, unless you're willing to pay exorbitant prices for the same meal you can get down the street for half the price I would not recommend coming here for breakfast...

Yelp
Had buffet breakfast $35 adults, $17 for kids. Basically the same American continental buffet breakfast most Marriott hotels offer for free to Platinum and above members. No omelette station, just a "pancake station". Service was fine, but mandatory 20% service charge and then an additional 20% gratuity. I inquired about the service fee and was told it was actually a gratuity. Would be better to spend your money elsewhere for breakfast. Dinner is expensive too, but food quality may be worth the extra money.

Adriene W.

Yelp
Mediocre at best My family had had brunch at Old Hickory previously and enjoyed it immensely. 5 of us decided to go for dinner and once seated, waited nearly 25 minutes for a menu or water or something, while other tables were being waited on and served. When the waiter did arrive he offered poor excuses at best and poor service. The food wasn't anything special, and most agreed it was tasteless. The steak was fatty, the chicken somewhat dry, the salmon overcooked, the vegetables cold. Dessert was the only saving grace.

Bill B.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in, I knew this was a first class establishment. All the support staff was attentive and engaged. My food was cooked to perfection and the drinks were world class. It also has a very cool vibe with the lighting and ambience.

Yelp
We stayed at the Gaylord for a photo convention and I was truly looking forward to having dinner here with my wife. We defiantly planned ahead. It was nowhere as exciting as I had imagined. I am from Long Island... the land of steak houses. Many different venues and a multitude of pricing. We entered and were immediately greeted at the door. After a very brief wait, we were escorted to table in the big back room. The restaurant was definitely not busy and I was a little disappointed that it wasn't filled with a lot of chatter and laughter. I miss the electricity in the air. Our waiter came over quickly and offered drinks and any menu explanation. That was the issue. It was a very abbreviated menu (pandemic related) with unusually high prices. There was no regular salads, only specialty ones which neither my wife or I wanted. There was also an abbreviated steak menu that had prices that did not match the items. Remember, I come from Long Island with some very exclusive and expensive steak houses. My wife and I usually share a steak and seafood so we're not bringing home food. Here we hared a Kansas City 16oz steak and crab cake. Everything was good, even better than good. The issue was that it just wasn't a night out. I felt like we settled and did not get all we're used to having. The following evening we went out of the hotel to some fabulous places. I was just disappointed that it was not what I expected.

Yelp
I ordered the 88.00 American Wygu steak. My spouse ordered the lamb hops. My steak has arrived, and I am looking forward to eating this tender beef. This had to be the toughest steak I've ever attempted to eat. I thought maybe the knife was dull, so I informed my waiter of how tough the steak was. He replied, let me get you another steak knife. The second knife arrives, and the steak is still challenging. I informed my waiter at this point that this is not Waygu beef. Steak is my favorite protein, and this was the worst. This steak was 88.00. I am accustomed to paying high prices, only if it is excellent food. I got the pork chops after my husband had completed his meal. They gave us free sides and were apologetic. I know it was not a Waygu ribeye. They didn't know that I would know.

Yelp
The Gaylord/Marriott seriously should consider a new vendor for this space. While attending a conference I was happy to see a "steakhouse" in the Gaylord. I at at the bar (this is another story) and ordered a ribeye and was terribly surprised that it was so thin. As were the people sitting next to me. They joked that the cow must have been skinny. Anyone familiar with a good ribeye gets the joke. Don't waste your money. I started at the far side of the bar where the bar still needed to be cleared. Not a problem I am patient. The first bartender (salt/pepper hair) on this side ignored my presence. An "I'll be with you in a moment ", I got nothing. I then moved to the other side and was greeted and served by the other bartender (dark hair) within a resonable time. He is the only reason for the 3 stars. The host staff were also awesome.

Yelp
I have to start off and say the decor around the whole restaurant was very nice. They did a fantastic job in that respect. That's where the positive part ends. We (family of 4) arrived on time for our 6:30 reservation and had to wait between 30-45 minutes before we were given a table. The restaurant wasn't even at 50% capacity. So not sure why the wait was so long. Our table also happened to be right under a vent with cold air blowing out of it. We asked if they could lower the air but they said it would have to go through engineering since it's controlled by them. I'm not exaggerating, it was like the air conditioning was on and it was snowing outside. No other table was offered to accommodate our freezing children with us being under the vent. To sum up the rest so this doesn't get drawn out: - Service was very slow (bread came almost 1 hr after sitting down, after our apps arrived) - Food overall was average at best. Not what you'd expect with the high prices. We like to eat and ordered apps, Dry-aged steaks (medium/well) a couple of sides. and we had to send 1 of them back 2 times because it was gamy and under cooked. It took about 30 minutes for the steak to come back the 1st time. We finished all the sides and our food at the time the steak came back. - We passed on dessert even though it's one of my favorite parts because of how the whole experience went. Things clearly didn't go right and nothing was offered to be done to soften the blow to try and make it right. Such a disappointment when we were celebrating a nice moment on our family trip.

Yelp
We recently had brunch at the Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord National Harbor (MD), a popular steakhouse in the area. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the elegant, yet rustic ambiance. The breakfast room features beautiful accents, and comfy seats that make it feel upscale, but not stuffy. We started off with what I call "the board" coz it has all the goodies, i.e., various cheeses, mini crab sandwiches, succulent raw oysters, crackers, fresh fruits, chia raspberry coconut and endless mimosas. They are incredible. "The board" alone will make you full. For the main course we went with the Short Rib Hash, Jumbo Lump Crab Benedict, Wagyu Steak Frites and Old Hickory's famous bacon cheese hamburger. The food was seasoned to perfection, all were incredibly tender and juicy. Lastly our dessert came in a 4-storey board structure. The various desserts were neatly arranged on each board/floor. It was quite an experience. The service was excellent - our server Yeti was attentive throughout the brunch, providing recommendations, answering questions, and keeping our mimosa glasses full. And of course, our hostess, Rosario, was awesome! From start to finish, everything at the Old Hickory Steakhouse was top-notch. They truly know how to prepare high-quality food cooked to order and provide an overall exceptional brunch experience. We will definitely be back! Lastly, the price per person was very reasonable!

Yelp
Old hickory definitely is not worth the price tag. Had breakfast there and it was far from amazing service was great but the food itself for breakfast was very plain. But we have been told that they were better when it came to dinner and their steaks were supposed to be really good. So I ordered a steak and New York strip to be exact and I asked for it to be medium rare. The steak was medium well in the middle and the edges were burned, it took forever to come out and let's just say the only thing good about it was the seasoning. For the price I would highly recommend going to another steakhouse!

Yelp
This review is for BRUNCH - Old Hickory Steakhouse has a new brunch menu for $65 pp and it doesn't disappoint! You can add a pancake board for an additional $10 pp. Of course the star was the wagyu - I got the wagyu steak and egg sandwich and it was . The first course and dessert course comes in family style (boards and nice display for the desserts) and they were both so appealing and delicious! The ESPRESSO CHOCOLATE PETITE GATEAUX was life changing so definitely end it with that! You can also add mimosas /bloody mary to your brunch . Our server was great too - such a lovely experience at the Gaylord National!

Yelp
Had reservations. While waiting to be seated at a table we were told to have a seat and someone would come and get us once the table was ready. A significant amount of time went by. We were never acknowledged by any other staff outside of the hostess desk and the older lady towards the entrance who was constantly walking back and forth with menus. After some time, a much larger group of men walked in and were immediately greeted by the woman who had been behind the bar the whole time. With the biggest smile, she asked them what drinks she could prepare for them while they waited. I watched her, thinking she was going to head towards me and my friend to ask us the same thing. She didn't, never even looked up at us. She went back behind the bar to start those drinks and they were immediately seated before she could return with them. There was a blatant difference in the treatment between both of our parties and it was clear that one group of guests was clearly not wanted in this establishment. I won't go any further than this as far as my review but it was a most unfortunate and unforgettable experience.

Yelp
Exceptional service and amazing cuisine. We came for my wife's 50th birthday and the entire restaurant staff made the so special. The food was as always delicious and the service was the best.

Yelp
This may be the right place for a raucous celebration by a group of middle aged white salesmen, but it's not the right place for a quiet meal. I sat at the bar and was surrounded on both sides by a group of loud drunks and a lone drunk who had all clearly been over-served. At these prices, that's unacceptable. I'd have been unimpressed even at a quarter of the price in a local dive bar. I would never take a partner or colleague here, and I see no reason to come back when there are other excellent choices nearby. Old Hiccup would be a better name.
