Old Lisbon Aventura - Review - Aventura - Miami - The Infatuation

"The Portuguese restaurant with locations on Coral Way and in South Miami has opened its third restaurant in Aventura. The menu, like the other locations, is mostly seafood with things like feijoada de mariscos, paelha marinheira, and grilled octopus. They also have non-fish options like filet mignon, pork chops, and grilled chicken. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Mariana Trabanino

We were greeted with a warm welcome as soon as we entered the door. We ordered Chilean seabass, paella mariscos, bacallao with olive oil and garlic. Everything tasted as good as it look. The crust of pasteis de nata was so flaky!! Service was excellent. Rafael and the staff made my father-in-law’s bday extra special by singing the birthday song for him. Highly recommend this place.

What a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the most beautiful decorations that really set the coastal vibe. We decided to try a bunch of dishes, and let me tell you, the octopus was so tender and drizzled with olive oil—just the perfect starter! We paired it with a refreshing rosé, and every appetizer we had was amazing. The seafood was incredibly fresh, but I have to say, the star of the show for me was definitely the PAELHA MARINHEIRA. You absolutely have to check this place out!

Tucked away in a cozy corner of the city, this Portuguese gem offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. The aroma of sizzling pork and freshly grilled sardines greets you at the door, promising a meal that warms both heart and soul. The pork is tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — a nod to generations of culinary tradition. The sardines are charred to perfection, drizzled with olive oil, and served with rustic bread that soaks up every drop. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, just like a Portuguese home, making every visit feel like a special occasion. Beautifully decorated! We’ll come back soon! Agustin was our server! He was amazing and extremely professional, with great food recommendation!

Nice, cozy but also fancy for date night. Great service, good ambiance and delicious food. Their desserts are a must try too! We have dined and ordered to go many times now and have always been happily satisfied.

Having visited Lisboa back in March & loving the food, especially their pastel de nata, I knew I had to pay a visit when I saw them on the Miami Spice list. Beautiful restaurant! We ate off of the Miami spice menu. The bread rolls were super hot & super hard. The olive oil garlic butter was yummy. I did NOT like the sausage appetizer at all, it was dry and tasteless. However, the presentation was nice. The shrimp dish was okay, the sauce was tasty. I was so disappointed in their pastel de nata (my main reason for going), it did not taste fresh at all. It tasted reheated. Lastly, the experience & meal was ruined for me when I found an eyelash on one of my French fries, gross🤢. I showed it to the waitstaff who did or said NOTHING! Granted she did not speak English. I thought that she would have told the manager but she didn’t.

The food was absolutely excellent, full of authentic Portuguese flavors and beautifully prepared. And the service from Rafael was truly outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and made our evening even more special. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Google
My experience at Old Lisbon was wonderful. The service was excellent, the food delicious, and I was lucky enough to enjoy the music of Rubén, the saxophonist. His music created a very pleasant and special atmosphere. I highly recommend it. Definitely an unforgettable night.

Yelp
Being of portuguese descent i have to be extremely critical of the cuisine. First impression is the ambience would recieve 5 stars. The restaurant is very quaint and the real olive tree trunk in the center of the restaurant gives it a special touch. We ordrred the flaming portuguese sausage which had a great presentation arriving in full flame on a terra cotta pig dish. This was indeed very authentic . The problem with the rest of the dishes is tgey were served luke warm and for me that gave them a minus of one star. Overall food was good and service pleasant. Next time be sure to serve the food promptly to get 5 stars.

Yelp
We had one of our best restaurant experiences ever at Old Lisbon in Aventura! No expectations really, as we were not familiar with Portuguese cuisine. The wonderful lady who took our call arranged to reserve two seats at the bar since they were full for reservations. They make you feel like family from the start. Our bartender Sam made the whole night an experience and gave spot-on recommendations. He suggested an excellent Portuguese red wine. We started with the grilled octopus appetizer (out of this world!) and moved on to the fish special and paella. Sam educated us on the various types of port and we tried regular port and white port. For dessert Pasteis de Nata (custard tarts) were the perfect finish. I like the reviewer who said there's something different about this place. Family owned and operated and they treat you like one of their own. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
We had an incredible dinner here. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was phenomenal. We did family style and i am so glad we did because we tried a little bit of everything, and everything was delicious! For apps, we had the shrimp in garlic sauce and clams. I don't normally like clams, but these were fantastic. For entree we had the peppercorn steak with cognac sauce i believe, octopus, lamb shank and a seafood mix. My favorite was the steak because the sauce was so good!

Yelp
Stopped by on a Saturday evening around 7pm. Hostess advised fully booked with reservation but outside seating & bar was available. We sat outside on a breezy night. We ordered : Bolinhos de Bacalhau - it was moist & croquettes were steaming hot , black eyed peas were nicely seasoned Arroz de Bacalhau - way too salty , cod was nice chunk portion though Bife de Churrasco - skirt steak arrived little cold, fries were super hot & crunchy ** the waitress was very friendly & professional, she warmed up the skirt steak We also ordered a bottle of red wine from Douro Valley region The food was decent, maybe give it another visit & try other items in the menu ... -

Yelp
An absolute gem of a restaurant. Everything from the decor to the food and the background music is top notch. Outstanding and I'm honestly surprised it doesn't have more reviews but I think it's due to an older clientele that is mostly there. A great date night spot- can't recommend this enough. Get the tartufo- you won't regret it.

Yelp
There is something special about this restaurant. From the moment you walk through the door, the ambiance is unmatched including a spectacular tree in the middle of the restaurant. The service was exceptional and don't get me started on how delicious the sea bass was. I got to have a chat with the owner and it was obvious how much he cared about his employees and providing the ultimate Portuguese experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. 10/10 will be making this a regular visit going forward as it just became my new favorite restaurant in the Miami area. Thanks Old Lisbon!

Yelp
One of those place located in Miami the you should visit.. I dine at this restaurant when they were at Collins Ave years back.. but on this new location on Aventura it's by far way better!!!! I give this place and food 5 star

Yelp
Great atmosphere friendly helpful service staff Well prepared seafood dishes A wonderful dining experience The house white wine was well priced and unusual good taste seafood stew served in a pot enough for two again very good

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic experience here! I highly recommend it. From the host to the bartender (thanks, Sam!) to the waitstaff to the food, all incredible. They made room for us on a busy Saturday night and we couldn't be more pleased. Started with the sardines, followed by steak and seafood stew, and finished with some magical creamy Portuguese delight. This restaurant made me wish I didn't live so far from Florida (or Portugal). Worth a visit (or ten)!!

Yelp
Awesome atmosphere. Excellent food cooked by chief João and outstanding service delivered by Maria de Fatima. It was worth the long way to this location be opened. It is a pleasure to drive from Boca Raton to Aventura in order to eat the Best Portuguese food.

Yelp
Exceptional Portuguese food coming from a Portuguese person. Services is great and beautiful atmosphere.

Yelp
My family is Portuguese so we're picky when it comes to Portuguese restaurants. A lot of them disappoint. However, Old Lisbon in Aventura was exceptional!Friendly service, beautiful restaurant and great food. Had the bolinhos de bacalhau (cod fish cakes) and croquetes de alheira as appetizers. Both were outstanding. For entrees, the family had the house steak and churrasco. Both were very well seasoned. Also had the polvo lagareiro (octupus) and it was delicious. Topped off with great dessert and espresso. Fabulous experience.

Yelp
Impecable as usual. What else to say. The place has now a very fine decor although a bit hidden but the food. Magic

Len N.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere, great food and terrific service. My only complaint is the when I ordered a glass of wine it was 1/8 of a glass-too little. I expect at a glass of wine to be at least 1/2 to 3/4 full, giving guests value. I would definitely go back but would order beer.

Yelp
We were in Miami for 3 nights and really wanted to try Old Lisbon. On our final day, we finally made it and it was only the 2nd night open in their Aventura location which was much closer to where we were staying in Ft. Lauderdale. Fatima and the rest of the staff were amazing! They helped us with the wine and food selections. Had great conversations and found out the tree trunk in the middle of the restaurant was flown in from Portugal! Amazing details to the decor. We will def be back next time we're in town. Also, I loved the bread! Fresh and hot.

Yelp
Absolutely spectacular... ambiance is unparalleled, the food is delicious. I had as many appetizers as I could and couldn't pick a favorite they were al delicious. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant for anyone. It's the perfect place to celebrate with friends or take a nice date to dinner. ALSO if you go you absolutely MUST try the desserts in all of Florida hands DOWN.

Yelp
Newly opened restaurant in this part of town. Lovely ambience with its blues and loft ceilings. Great service and food. The Portuguese paelha was full of fresh seafood and came out steaming hot. Tried the pudim Portugues but was not prepared for dense flan reminiscent of a light bread pudding. Too much for one but more appropriately shared.

Yelp
This was the first time eating at Old Lisbon at their new Aventura location. I have to say that everything was perfect. The food was great and the service was amazing. Our server Leandro provided amazing service and the other 2 servers working stopped by our table to check on us as well. I will definitely returning

Yelp
This restaurant was amazing. Delicious food and great service. The portions were big enough for two and easily splittable. Nice wine list and reasonable prices. The ambience is really nice and the whole experience was a delight. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Excellent simple but tasty food, outstanding service and such beautiful decor and chill ambience.
