10 Dallas Bars That’ll Get You Into the St. Patrick’s Day Spirit | Eater

"East Dallas’ famed Old Monk pub now has a new sibling in Oak Cliff. Opened in November 2024, this new location within walking distance of the beloved Bishop Arts District has already become a neighborhood favorite. Like its older brother, this outpost is also pouring its fair share of Irish Old Fashioneds. Pair one with some beef stew or a fish and chips platter to dramatically increase your Irish street cred." - Steven Craig Lindsey

The Hottest New Cocktail Bars in DFW

"Henderson Avenue’s favorite pub gets a second location in Oak Cliff. It’s got a similar vibe of grungy, vintage Britishness and serves the same menu as the first location. For those who love fish and chips, beers, and simple cocktails, it’s all that and... um, a bag of chips?" - Courtney E. Smith

First time here, but I have been to the original Old Monk many times. I really like the look of the new place. It definitely matches the decor of the original place. I like the extra patio in the back. The food is comparable to the original location. That means the food is very good. The pub was very clean and the service was great. I will definitely be back.

Been to the original location on Henderson Avenue and was so excited to hear they finally made another location in Oak Cliff (Bishop Arts area). I enjoy one of their draft beers and the Beef Stew bowl, just what I needed for the cold weather. They have plenty of beer and food selection with spacious seating throughout. The location is great and even has a patio and some limited parking spots. Will definitely be returning for their happy hour.

Stopped by for a quick bite with my husband and 3 month old as soon as they opened on a Wednesday afternoon. We sat on the front patio to enjoy the beautiful weather but later noticed they had a beautiful back patio as well. Bathrooms had changing tables and they confirmed they have high chairs. Recommend the beer companion board. Skip on the bread pudding.

When I heard this location near my house was opening, I was so excited .. and it hasn’t disappointed! Each time I’ve been it’s been on point atmosphere wise, service wise and food has been so good! Today we took a friend for his birthday, so I felt like I needed to write a review! Logan was our waitress and was so great and attentive. I was craving a good burger and totally hit the spot. We shared a few dishes and everyone at our table was happy. This is our new spot for sure living in Oak Cliff!

Came on a weekday after work. It wasn't many people. Sat at the bar, had fish and chips. It was pretty good, alot of crust. The staff was very nice. Would go back

Great food & atmosphere, but disappointing policy for families We’ve enjoyed this restaurant several times because the food is excellent and a great place for a good time. However, during our last visit, we discovered something surprising: after 6 p.m., they don’t allow anyone under 21 — including families with kids. There are no signs, no mention on the website, to let guests know about this policy. We only found out when we arrived, which was awkward and disappointing, especially after planning a family evening out. If they clearly communicated this rule ahead of time, it would save families the inconvenience and frustration. That said, if you’re an adult group looking for a great evening spot, you’ll probably love it here — just be aware of the hidden age restriction if you’re dining with younger guests.

The magic of the Old Monk has come to Oak Cliff. As someone who has frequented the original at Knox-Henderson I'm glad to have the Old Monk come to my neighborhood. Same great drinks and vibe in a perfect part of town. Cheers to all the success and the many great times to be had here!

This location has their system down! The food is great and well priced per portion. The atmosphere feels intimate despite the relatively small space. It can get busy at times but that's hardly a complaint.
