"Old Rose is in the bottom of the Jane Hotel, and it feels like a ballroom that someone converted into a cafe. The ceilings are high, there are some big windows, and the walls are covered in paintings of centaur-like creatures doing stereotypical centaur things (drinking, playing the flute, etc.). It’s spacious, there’s room for groups, and it even feels kind of special. The menu, on the other hand, is pretty straightforward. It’s Italian, and it has a few pizzas and pastas, a kale caesar, and some smaller things like octopus. And, while that might not sound very exciting, you should know that they do these staples pretty well. The pastas are solid, the pizzas are great (especially the clam one), and their side of meatballs with stracciatella is the sort of thing you dream about after you step in a puddle then see on Facebook that your ex is getting married to a person who’s slightly more attractive than you. photo credit: Teddy Wolff Although not everything here is Italian. The pork ribs come with a sweet & sour sauce that could exist at a well-managed Panda Express, and the crispy rice salad with mint and pickled jalapeño feels something you’d get at a place like Dimes. We aren’t sure what these foods are doing on the menu, but they’re interesting, and they make us wonder what this restaurant could be if it weren’t just trying to be the millionth spot to serve cacio e pepe. We also wonder what this place would feel like if it weren’t so casual. Here, you get your silverware out of a can on your table, and the service is about on par with that of a diner in a world where CNN just informed everyone that a meteor is headed toward Earth. Food arrives slowly and sometimes out of order, and the bartenders are borderline mean (and not in a way that makes us like them due to daddy issues). Still, Old Rose isn’t a bad restaurant. It’s actually pretty good - but it can be pretty frustrating, and its potential makes us a just a little bit sad. Fortunately, it’s affordable enough that you can look past certain defects and still have a good time. Come with a friend on a weeknight or stop by with a group on the weekend when a lively conversation will distract you from any lapses in service. Food Rundown Clam Pizza If you like clams and creamy sauce, you’ll want this. The crust on this thing is both crispy and chewy, and it comes topped with a chili oil that you should do your very best to acquire more of. Vodka Pizza Vodka sauce and burrata on pizza. If that sounds like something you’ll like, that’s because it is. Share one of these with a friend. Cavatelli The pastas here are overall pretty good. If you like broccoli rabe and chunks of sausage, go for the cavatelli. Meatballs All meatballs should come with a side of stracciatella, and all meatballs should be this soft. Have these on your table at some point. Crispy Rice Salad We like all the herbs and crispy rice in this thing, but they tend to go a little too heavy on the dressing. And, seeing as how this thing is mostly rice, it isn’t really a salad. Pork Ribs These come covered in what tastes like a sweet & sour sauce that definitely isn’t Italian. We aren’t complaining. We’re just a little confused. Kale Salad Shredded kale with cheese, dressing, and croutons that have apparently been fried in butter. In other words, a perfectly good salad." - Bryan Kim

I just got a half sleeve finished over here by Tony Cruz and I couldn't be happier. The whole process from start to finish was extremely fast and easy, with Tony working from my horrible description of what I wanted and turning that somehow into an absolute masterpiece that I will be proud to show off for the rest of my life. The shop had a great vibe to it, with everyone working hard while obviously having a good time and presented a very welcoming environment. While it may not be the cheapest shop around, I thought the prices were actually very competitive for the outcome and the extremely high level of skill from all of the artists here. Thanks for everything Tony and if I get some more work done, I'll definitely be coming back (will update with some better photos after the swelling and red go down lol).

Got Tattooed here by Dave Quiggle 3 weeks ago flew out from PA to have him do it. Wonderful shop, Wonderful people. Dave is an absolute trooper tattooed for 6 and a half hours straight in order to get this done for me, and it looks absolutely amazing. The amount of compliments on just the color alone has been staggering! Thank you Dave, and Thank you Old Rose Tattoo!!

Google
Perfect tattoo shop in a strip mall with tons of parking. Super easy find and easy to park for the entire tattoo session. I have been tattooed here twice by Sterling and he is amazing. I will definitely come back here again for another tattoo from Sterling. I brought my brother for a walk in and it was solid. They always do walk ins and all the artists are solid. Great vibe and good flash on the walls. It’s really everything you want from a tattoo shop. I love the tattoos I got here. The tattoos I posted pictures of are by Sterling and they were all picked from flash.

Please please please do NOT come here! I got my nose pierced here in July and got a bump almost immediately after. I specifically asked the piercer, Mike, if there was a difference in the healing process if I got a stud versus a hoop and he said no. Trusting him, I got the hoop. He was completely wrong. I had a huge bump on my nose that even turned purple at one point. I went to the stop three to four times to ask them how to get rid of it and I got the same answer. Every. Single. Time. To keep cleaning it and give it more time. First it was give it a couple weeks, then it was give it a couple months. I waited three months and it was only getting worse and worse. It seriously ruined my self esteem for so long and they were so unbelievably unapologetic. They even told me that I got the bump because I must’ve hit my nose on something. Putting the blame on me. Nice. After going to a reputable tattoo and piercing place, I learned that the hoop absolutely caused the bump. After going to a LEGIT piercing place, they were able to switch the hoop to a stud with discs to help flatten the bump. The disc also covered the bump and I cried after leaving because this thing that had made me so insecure was able to fixed in ten minutes by another piercer. Versus these losers who just blamed me and told me to wait. It is crazy that another tattoo place was able to fix a mistake that wasn’t even theirs. But these people couldn’t fix the mistake THEY made. What happened to me because of these people, is horrible. The way they made me feel was horrible. However, I still have a bump. 6 months later. After visiting the reputable people again, they told me that I might have to take the piercing out completely because not only was it the hoop that messed my nose up, they also pierced it at the wrong angle. I can not fully express my anger at these people for what they did to me. I paid $70 to get my nose pierced in the first place. Then over $100 in sterile gauze and salt over the past six months, trying to keep it clean so that it’ll heal. $45 to get it switched to the stud with the discs. And $35 to get it switch to a stud with a smaller bar. These people have not only robbed me of my peace for the past six months, which might’ve all been for nothing. They also made me waste near $250.

I am not from the area, but made the trip because of one of their great artists, Dave Quiggle. I traveled from WA State to get tattooed by Dave and he worked with me via email months in advance. He was very patient and professional. When I arrived, he greeted me in the lobby and was very cordial and kind. We had discussed my artwork in advance and he was super prepared. The shop was clean and everyone was very helpful. We got started and I was quite surprised at how quickly and deftly he was able to finish. My piece took 40 minutes and the lines were clean and expertly executed. I am planning on making the trip again hopefully soon! Thanks Dave and all at Old Rose Tattoo of Temecula CA!

Google
The piercer was super cool as much as everyone else is. The pricing for all piercings is about how much you'd expect them to cost if anyone was curious. I enjoyed my experience I only wish I saw them open the needles in front of me, and I saw that other piercers dont use butterfly backings for lobes but they do here, I didn't think it was an issue but I thought to include it since some people do care about that. Overall I recommend

My Tattoo artist was Mike Cuervo and i asked for was a Violet Flame on my left forearm. I Hate this tattoo and regret it.. not the concept but the Execution. There’s no color and he added way to much dark. After speaking with other artists they confirmed he did a horrible job applying this tattoo. Pictures here.

Yelp
David Flores did a great job on two tattoos. I waited until I was in my 60's to get one and I wasn't sure what to expect. The tattoo turned out great so I went back for another one. Check'em out!

Yelp
We had a great experience getting my 7 year old daughter's ears pierced. She was super excited. Mike helped make it a fun experience for her. He showed her the little display of earrings she could choose from (I liked that it was a small display so while she got to make a decision, it didn't take forever). He explained what he was doing, spent a good amount of time making sure the pen dots were perfect, he communicated well so my daughter knew when to be still, when to breathe, when she could relax. My daughter didn't even get a tear in her eye. Everything looked super clean, nothing was rushed or weird. The cost was $60 total, it took about 20 minutes. Overall, it was a 5 star experience.

Yelp
Service was professional and top notch. The staff was super cool and informative. I haven't gotten a tattoo in over 20 years and they didn't mind refreshing me on the tattoo care process. The artist was super talented and did an excellent job on my leg. Price was as expected and duration was just over an hour for a 6x5 inch black only tattoo. I'd return again when I come up with another idea. Vive was super chill and the music was old school and appreciated.

Shauna G.

Yelp
Thanks again to Mike for make my long time vision a reality. A memorial tattoo for my grandparents, he worked meticulously with every detail, right down to the placement. I appreciate the attention to all the little details and I get a lot of compliments on his work!

Yelp
I got a tattoo today with Tony and I was definitely not disappointed. He was extremely helpful in figuring out sizing and everything and the pricing was perfect. Really love his work, will definitely be going back to him for my next piece!

Zander W.

Yelp
Service was 10/10, everyone was really nice and chill. I got a leg tattoo and it looks amazing, Mike Cuervo was my artist and he absolutely killed it. 10/10 highly recommend!

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
Tony has been tattooing me since I was 18 or 19, I turn 28 this year. He's done 7 of my pieces and my most recent is the plague doctor. I don't know what this man has, but he's got the magic touch. My tattoos always heal nicely. I was expecting to struggle to walk and my leg would be swollen, but I can walk as if I never got it done and it never swelled. It was obviously a little tender, but that's about it. Tony you are amazing!

Amy L.

Yelp
I had a beautiful tattoo done for my son that passed. It was very important to me and Max was extremely kind and beyond excellent!! Highly recommend both Max and Old Rose! Very friendly and professional.

Austin A.

Yelp
Whenever I see a new artist or go to a new shop, I always get anxious. I've had bad experiences of the artists being rude or not welcoming, but this was the total opposite experience at Old Rose. It was welcoming, clean and there was so much beautiful art to look at. I got work done by David Flores and I am SO happy with my tattoo. I will definitely be booking another appointment.

Sage J.

Yelp
Helped my ex boyfriend with his tattoo years ago, very professional and helpful. Thank you.

T R.

Yelp
They do walk ins. Clean environment and professional but relaxing. My artist introduced himself - let him know it was my 1st tattoo halfway through he made sure I was feeling alright. Very light hand and didn't skimp on extra ink thanks D!

Jo C.

Yelp
My fist experience in a tattoo shop with my very first tattoo! David Flores did an excellent job with making me comfortable with the whole experience. I came with my daughter who has many tattoos and recommended David Flores, he designed our tattoos and I wanted something extra and he did not hesitate to do what I asked - thank you for that! The entire staff was very friendly! I will recommend the Old Rose Tattoo to any one in the area!

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Old Rose Tattoo is definitely a premier shop! Excellent service, spotless clean, and a very welcoming atmosphere! Mike and Max were both Fantastic! They collaborated to do our very special Mother/Daughter tattoos perfectly! They really took the time to make sure the designs were exactly what we wanted! Thank you for making our experience so great! We'll be back soon!

Lauren U.

Yelp
*this is my response to the owner's response to my original review* Yes I know about the problems with finger tattoos, and mentioned in my review that they told me finger tattoos aren't the best. How the ink took or how it healed is not my complaint. That does not apply to any of my other complaints about her execution of the work. My "friend" aka husband NEVER TOLD ME OR HER TO MOVE IT TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. That is a complete LIE to state that in your response. He knows I wanted it there and never told me to move it. The song lyric is "lady finger ... writing what for across the morning sky", so moving it defeats the idea of the tattoo, you are wrong to tell me my husband said to move it. What Jade drew was 100% free hand drawn from her after only looking at my drawing. I can tell you for sure because her first try at it had the line going all the way through the W, not at all what I had drawn and she acted like it was no big deal that she completely redrew it incorrectly, as if she didn't even notice. I had to correct her more than once in fact! Another way you are wrong to claim she copied my design exactly is because from the beginning she told me I should space the letters further apart, I agreed and she changed that part (I thought), when in reality she actually made them closer! We agreed about how the letter A needed to change so that part is different from my original. More differences from my original, she connected the T to the line on the bottom instead of leaving a space, and didn't connect the R to the ? Your response to me is clearly full of lies and trying to save face here. My original drawings are now posted in the pictures with the measurements to prove you are wrong. The spacing between the words in my drawings are both 1/4in, she placed them 3/16in, this might not sound like much but when it's 1/4 of the entire space that's 25% of the space and is visibly different. The letters o and r in the word "for" in my drawing are 1/16in apart, the tattoo she put on me has those letters so close I cannot even measure between the letters at all! This closer spacing all from someone who told me moments before that she needed to space the letters out more... She didn't make the F anything like my drawings which also shows you're not being honest about her copying my drawing exactly. The picture in the link you shared is not the one we decided on. There were 5 different drawings of it and we decided on the second to bottom one not shown in your picture. And from there she made changes, 5 in fact, but only one that I did agree on (the letter A). I am also including a picture that shows all 4 of my drawings. If it's the top one she went with for her stencil that means she did not listen to my request at all. My drawing is very different from what she put on me. Very disappointed in all of it including your bs response.

Shawna R.

Yelp
Knowledgeable, patient and very helpful. We didn't have an appointment but was able to get in, have a tattoo designed and done within minutes. Highly recommend!!!

Brooke A.

Yelp
Love this shop. All the artist are professional and do really clean work. My design was drawn and ready for my appointment. He was very light handed and it healed perfectly. I'll be going back for more.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Update to my last post. This is the product of their shop. Very disappointed. Update 2: never go to this shop. The picture speaks for itself. I've never had a tattoo so poorly done before

Lori L.

Yelp
I just wanted to give a shout to Sterling for an amazing tattoo. I have been waiting to do this one for a while and I'm glad I went to him because he was quick but so precise. Everything about it looks so clean. He really made me feel at ease when I was there. I've gotten more compliments than I know what to do with. I will be going to get all the rest of my tattoos with him. Thank you Sterling so much. You totally killed it!

Nikki K.

Yelp
Pialla covered this mistake for me today as a walk in! Several people told me no they wouldn't do it! He was more than willing to help. Such a good dude! Looks rad and he freehanded it no stencil like a G. Thank you seriously thank you sir

James S.

Yelp
I fully know that Jay and the other members of staff are incredible at what they do! Even though I had issues with transport to the tattoo parlour, they were massively accommodating and understanding the circumstances! The tattoo itself is incredible and the attention to detail from Jay was amazing! I am incredibly happy with the result and the entire experience! They even let me charge my phone and on multiple times offered me food & snacks! Will definitely return again!

Alexandra G.

Yelp
I came in for a walk on in January 13th it was a Saturday. I did the get what' you get and got a rose. The rose came out beautiful but my artist messed up on the color. I wanted yellow and got orange. I didn't complain because I thought maybe the blood made it look orange but no it's definitely orange. Very disappointed. I was going through a rough time. I believe the artist was kinda busy chit chatting and didn't pay attention. Do better next time *

Snooch M.

Yelp
I have been coming to Old Rose for a while now. The shop is clean, the people are super friendly, and there are never weird vibes. I've had a custom piece done by Aaron, walked in and had Jade do a quick lil one, and I've gotten flash done from a few of their toy drive and RARCC events by Tony & Aaron. I honestly love this shop and won't go anywhere else:)

TrishG 1.

Yelp
Highly recommend seeing Max or Pialla for a tattoo. Very artistic and reasonable with their prices. Great atmosphere , nice people

Jayna M.

Yelp
We just did a walk-in appointment so my review might not be the greatest, but my husband and I wanted very simple matching finger tattoos. We we're greeted with awesome front staff and an artist who was very personable. Both having previous work done we did our research online and looked over his work to make sure we didn't end up with some botched finger tattoos. He was great! Like I said, our little finger tattoos were nothing crazy but they still came out great. Sterling Barck, thanks for giving us what we were both looking for.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Every single tattoo I've gotten has been at Old Rose. I've had pieces done by various artists and I can honestly say, you're always in good hands. I've never been nervous for a new artist to give me something I'd be unhappy with. Today was no exception. I walked in with my husband and we wanted matching tarot cards with our anniversary on the card. Jade was my artist and goodness she did a GREAT job. Jade had just graduated her apprenticeship, and to me, her work shows that she's no newbie. Lines were clean, shading was perfect, and the color was packed in nice like I love to see. (My arm is a little swollen as I always swell up a bit after a fresh tattoo). She was so sweet and chatted with me the entire session. It's important that an artist makes their client feel comfortable and she did just that. Also something to note, her technique was very gentle and relatively pain free as far as tattoos go! I'll definitely be coming back when the urge strikes to get some fresh ink and I'd be more than happy to get Jade again

Johanna V.

Yelp
I went to Old Rose recently and Max was my tattoo artist. I had a great experience. Everyone was very friendly and patient. I felt very comfortable there. Max took my idea and brought it to life! Also, his training and experience really shows in the end result. My tattoo is beautiful and expertly done. Everyone always compliments how beautiful the work is and how the lines are so perfect. I definitely recommend Old Rose and dont have to look any further for my next tattoo artist.

Andi L.

Yelp
Amazing tattoo shop full of incredibly talented artists. Super clean and beautifully decorated, always love coming here. Old Rose is with out a doubt the best shop in the area!!

Christine A.

Yelp
I had my first tattoo done by Mike, he did an awesome job. I would recommend the shop and also Mike. It was something I wanted to do after my cancer treatments. I will never forget what I went through but this is a happy reminder I did it and I am still here. Thanks

Amber S.

Yelp
Clean shop. Quick service. All instruments used are new or sterilized. Prices are reasonable. Clean lines.

Matt T.

Yelp
Great shop. Have had 2 artists do tattoos for me. Most recently had Aaron do one for me. All their artists are talented, shop is clean and the owners are sticklers for cleanliness and sanitization. Shop helper is kind and sweet. Reasonable prices for great art. For big pieces, make an appointment, but plenty of availability for walk ins on smaller, simpler ones.

Jaime J.

Yelp
My first tattoo, my daughter wanted a mom/daughter tattoo for her 18th birthday. We did a walk in and we're able to get our tattoos within a reasonable amount of time. David was amazing, he is fast but details were perfect! Thank you for making this a great experience for us! We will be back!

Sarah K.

Yelp
This post is long overdue! I first discovered this shop when they were doing an event for "Still Not Asking For It" in 2019 where I got my first tattoo (from this shop) where the money goes to that campaign. I knew I wanted more tattoos so I went to their instagram to look through the artists work and that's where I discovered Tony. He's done all my major pieces and he's a dope artist to work with, he's SO talented and worth the wait (as well as all the artists there). This shop has great energy and all the artists and front desk gals have always been so cool and funny. It's 2023 now and I'm still getting tattoos done by Tony. Every time I come in, I have a new idea and he rolls with it as well as make my ideas come to life and he always exceeds what I have in mind. THANK YOU TONY & ORT!

Natalie J.

Yelp
Granted it was free but this shouldn't be happening! i got my septum pierced about two weeks ago. Firstly, I went to the event with free nostril or septum, got there early to put my name on the list. was about maybe the "8th" person in line. waited around for 4 hours just to be told there's no more septum jewelry at 8 pm and i'll get a call when they had new ones. about a week passed and i had to call...they were ready to take me the next day...were they not going to call me? anyways i make a appointment for the next week (i was sick when they wanted to originally schedule me...moving on) i go in. everything seemed good. she was being monitored for the piercing but still somehow messed up. my jewelry was backwards and it was pretty crooked. i'm pretty patient so i'm like okay it's fine i get she's learning and it's free so i can't be a asshole. about a week and a half (?) later and it's turning green. i go in after work to see what's up. she said it's normal for the design part of the jewelry to turn green sometimes, said it was too fresh for her to change it but if it started to irritate me i can come back in a month for jewelry change. i wasn't too convinced but i brushed it off. fast forward to today 05/24/2023. it's rusting. it's green all over. it's hurting to move inward on the rusted part when it wasn't before. I had to go to a strongly recommended piercer and she informed me the piercing was way too low! she didn't even get it in the right region of a septum!!! so much for her overseer during the process. the new piercer had the remove it completely. i included pictures of the rusting and green parts. this was in my nose!!! i could've gotten a bad infection. I was told it was stainless steel jewelry...pretty sure stainless steel doesn't do this. now im upset my septum is gone and i have to wait to get it repierced. please be careful with your piercings. im sure they're great for tattoos but not septum piercings.

Alex R.

Yelp
I have been to this tattoo shop three times and every experience has been phenomenal! Curiosity brought me in for a flash tattoo; everyone was very friendly and answered all of my questions with great detail. I got to know the artist Sterling Barck and was very impressed with the beautiful work that he did. Sterling suggested one of his drawings for my next one... it was perfect. For my third tattoo I made an appointment with Mike Cuervo and I am writing this review half way through my third tattoo with Mike after a long session today, and so far it has the most detail of any tattoo I have ever seen, absolutely stunning. The reason why I'm writing this review is because something happened to me today that has never happened before, I wasn't feeling up to finishing our session due to an upset stomach. Mike was incredibly understanding and thoughtful immediately offering me a cup of water and a chance to reschedule the rest of the tattoo. Thank you to the entire staff for bringing my whole experience to a new standard of excellence.

Tiffany A.

Yelp
Mike Daigneaultort was great. . I'm very happy with my tattoo, he put my butterfly on the spot lol. Super nice guy ,you would appreciated his vision and personal conversation with him. Thank you and I ll see you soon.

Katherine E.

Yelp
Me and my 2 girlfriends came to Old Rose Tattoo for a walk in. We were accepted and brought back super quickly and everyone was super nice and helpful. Tony gave us each a mermaid tattoo and did an amazing job with the line work. We all talked about how we're definitely coming back in the future for more tattoos :)

Grace B.

Yelp
Sterling did my little sisters first tattoo yesterday. He did amazing and honestly was super personable. He made sure to advise her and fix up the tat she wanted. I don't think she could've found a better artist to do her first tattoo. Will refer people to here they are all super welcoming and nice!

Morgan J.

Yelp
Had an awesome experience with Aaron. Everyone in the shop was down to earth and friendly, and there was an overall great vibe in the place. Aaron's work was clean and timely. I brought my mom who ended up wanting to get something too, and he was accommodating and able to get her in right after me. 10/10 recommend.

Carla B.

Yelp
Max Aguilar is awesome! I am a 60-ish y/o woman who got her first ever tat today! Max was perfect to work with, and I (hardly) had any pain. I love my new FIRST tattoo!

Christopher P.

Yelp
Came here to get a Reaper Tattoo on my forearm that I have wanted for a while. I had to schedule my tattoo a few months out but it was definitely worth the wait. Tony did my tattoo in 2 session, a 4 hour session then a 1 hour session. Tony made me comfortable and made sure to ask how I was doing. He said he had fun creating my tattoo design which made me love it even more. I told Tony I was looking for a tattoo artist for future work and after my experience with him, I will be coming back here to see Tony for future work.

Carolin R.

Yelp
Mike D. is highly skilled, patient and very friendly. Thank you for my beautiful tattoo!

Yelp
Awesome tattoo shop. All the guys are friendly and attentive. Max my artist is great. I had my first tattoo with him and he made my experience easy. He was attentive, professional and easy to talk with. Today I had my third tattoo with max. Always happy with my results. Would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
In Temecula for casino and girls night but wanted to get a tattoo. Have 3 others from various artists (mostly while in Vegas) and decided to get one in Temecula, while here. Looked up a couple of places but based on reviews and Facebook comments, plus pics posted I went with Old Rose. I was a walk in and they were able to take me. I knew what I wanted but didn't have any pics just description. Max was my artist. He was patient with me as he asked what I wanted, size, colors, etc. He drew a picture and showed me and I told him it was a little too big so he scaled it down and it was perfect. He helped with location too as I knew I wanted it on my back or shoulder but not sure exactly where. Facility itself was cleanly and friendly. In and out in 1 1/2 hours. Would recommend to anyone and would go back. Not too expensive either and he actually charged less than originally quoted.

Yelp
I had my first /only tattoo done here last week. Alex was really great! The shop is very clean, lots of designs. My grandson and his wife have gone there several times. So they took me. My granddaughter drew the design and he did it exactly how I wanted it. I highly recommend this shop. Thank you Alex.I an very happy.

Yelp
I got a tattoo done here by D. Silva. He was very quick and efficient with this small piece and he has a very light hand. However though, this piece only took 20 minutes i kid you not, and it is about 4-6 in. tall and i was charged 150$. I love the tattoo and all, but the price was absolutely crazy. it shouldn't have been more than 100 AT MOST. This place and it's staff were great, but the prices are too high in my opinion ...

Yelp
Thanks Mike Cuervo for such a wonderful tattoo! You're a very talented artist. The business itself is clean, professional, and great with communication. I'll definitely be back!
