Google
Nice spot. Cool decor but a loud atmosphere. Service was good. Beer very good. Red Sangria had good flavor but so much ice, it got completely watered down. There was more ice than wine, not worth what is priced for the cup of ice. Cheese curds had decent flavor but slightly overcooked so they were all stuck together due to then exploding. Marinara was good. Nashville hot chicken sandwich was very good. My husband opted for a side of rice, which was terrible. It tasted sour as if it sat overnight and started to turn bad. Not sure what happened but it was awful. He took one bite and immediately pushed it away. I took a small bite to see what he was talking about. Something definitely not good with it. Too bad because sandwich was very tasty. Chicken wrap and fries both cooked well, good flavor. No complaints with either. We will ho back but will never order rice again.

First time at your place. The food was delicious i had the chicken teriyaki. A very cool vibe in the restaurant. Cool pictures on the wall. The waitress was excellent. Smile on her face. Brought me a couple of sodas. Thank you for your great hospitality. Will be back

Google
Old School Bar and Grill was a pretty solid spot. We had the fried seafood platter, poke bowl, fish tacos, and lobster roll. The food was decent overall—nothing mind-blowing, but it hit the spot. The fried seafood was crispy and satisfying, and the fish tacos were tasty enough. The poke bowl was alright, but the lobster roll? It was good, but honestly, we’ve had better. The service was great, though, and the atmosphere was laid-back, which made for a nice night out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, but don’t expect the best lobster roll around!

Google
My first time here & I’M HOOKED. Got the tips and tenders meal and HOLY MOLY. These tips are sooo juicy and moist! I order my steak med well and still sooooo juicy and flavorful! Hubby got the dry rub wings and he wouldn’t stop telling me how amazing they were lol. Tenders were great also!! For drinks i got the tiramisu martini & it was made perfectly, my hubby got the berry breezy mocktail and he loved it. We will DEFF be back

Google
We live locally and decided to give Old School a try for the first time and we were very impressed! The restaurant was a little busy so we were told there was a 35-40 minute wait for a table (for 2), but managed to quickly snag a seat at the bar. Our bar tender, Leanna, was attentive, personable, and made a FANTASTIC dirty martini. As far as food goes, we decided to just order a few appetizers. We got the sliders, steak and cheese egg rolls, tenders and French fries. The French fries were okay, but everything else was AMAZING from the first bite. I highly suggest adding the yummy garlic teriyaki sauce to just about anything! We are definitely excited to go back again and will be taking advantage of their happy hour specials!

Google
Just had the prime rib. It was FANTASTIC. Great service. Sat out on the patio on a beautiful evening. Really happy we came here.

Fred G.

Google
I have visited this establishment many times, and the food is outstanding. The service is second to none.Thomas, our server was amazing. The manager Lexi. A true professional. With a wonderful attitude. All in all, the evening was fantastic, with the exception of the bartender who would be better suited in the kitchen, perhaps doing dishes, but staying away from the public, horrible attitude. Lexi knows who he is.

Google
A great place in New Hampshire, wonderful staff and delicious food. I really enjoyed my ribeye and my waitress was more than accommodating with specific requests. A great meal and experience, I highly recommend Old School Bar & Grill.

Yelp
Like everyone else I look at the menu before I go - so I was pretty set on a lunch special. Website says Monday-Friday 11:30-3. We weren't given the lunch menu. I'm of sure if the website hasn't been updated or the lunch menu was just overlooked. I had the Cobb salad and it was honestly the best Cobb salad I've ever had!

Yelp
Really disappointing experience. We were having a great time until the entrées arrived--my $50 prime rib was cold. I politely notified the waitress, expecting a fresh replacement. I wasn't trying to make a scene, just wanted a hot meal while managing my kids. Instead, they clearly reheated the same piece. It came back dry, brown, and still lukewarm. The manager didn't apologize and was dismissive when I mentioned I ordered it medium rare. I didn't eat it and ended up finishing my son's burger. When the bill came, the prime rib was still on it. I asked for it to be removed, and the manager acted like I was the problem. Her attitude was rude and unprofessional, and she didn't acknowledge us as we left. I've always enjoyed this place, but this experience was frustrating. If this is the kind of administration they support, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Yelp
Top notch as far as bars go. I love Old School's friendly staffers, great cocktails, menu stacked with modern twists on traditional bar food plus classic entrees, generous variety of gluten-free offerings, and sports on tv. I've never taken a bad bite here, everything is flavorful and well made. Portions are shareable and leftovers are a given because we can't order just one thing each.

Yelp
Nice ambiance casual restaurant nice laidback restaurant the bar is nice with many seats available. The service was excellent the waitress was very friendly but the food was very good got clam chowder steak tips with mashed potatoes and green beans everything was cooked well I was very pleased.
google avatar

Yelp
Old School Bar & Grill in Windham is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy a casual meal. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made for a pleasant experience. The menu offers plenty of gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions. My wife and I weren't super hungry, so we stopped in during happy hour for drinks and a couple of appetizers. We ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower and the fried pickles--both gluten-free and both delicious. The Bang Bang Cauliflower was definitely the standout! This is a great local spot for a quick bite, a drink, and a laid-back hangout.

Yelp
This was an awesome find. We travel with our dog from FL to New England. We are always looking for dog friendly restaurants. This was not far off the highway with a wonderful patio with umbrellas. Great menu, great service

Yelp
We had such a wonderful dinner with amazing service from Lily!! She was informative, kind and inviting, the food was wonderful. We had french onion soup, pretzels, sliders, chicken parm, mac and cheese, french dipper, chicken chipotle wrap ended with the cookie lava cake!!! to die for

Nancy F.

Yelp
Terrible. We were a party of 5. One order was mac n cheese and another order alfredo pasta. Both had alfredo sauce. Cooking 101 everyone knows mac n cheese isn't Alfredo sauce. Not one meal that anyone ordered was any good. Dessert was chocolate lava cookie. Define "lava"- supposed to ooze out of the cookie. If yiu don't heat the cookie then you get cold cookie with a slab of chocolate in the middle. Service was meh. Won't be going back.

Buddy B.

Yelp
Went here with my wife yesterday and was very disappointed, Menu has changed a little, Most notably the Pulled pork and Mac and cheese is no longer available. We ordered the OMG Nachos and they were awful. Also one of the menu items that changed. I get that things are more expensive, But going this route will put them out of business. Good example is Yesterday, At 4 in the afternoon the place should have been very busy and it was dead. The bartender even said business has been slow. I can see why. It really is a shame this is what it has come to, We really loved this place and the staff, Not sure we will be returning anytime soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Always great had one of the new items the short rib tender real mashed potatoes green beans were almost crunchy they were so fresh great job

Yelp
I've been wanting to try Old School for a while and I am so mad it took me so long to get there! Let me start with our waitress Felicia, she was absolutely outstanding!! Every so often I will have a waiter or waitress that truly impresses me (which is very hard to do) and Felicia definitely did. We started with drinks and appetizers (mozzarella sticks and Spinach and Artichoke dip). The mozzarella sticks were awesome and the spinach and artichoke dip was good but heavy on the cream cheese. For dinner I ordered the NY Strip that comes with Bacon Onion Jam and Fried Onion strings and 2 sides. I ordered a side Caesar and I noticed on the specials menu there was a lobster bisque with grilled cheese croutons so I asked our waitress if I could swap the regular croutons for the grilled cheese ones because that just sounds amazing. PLEASE DON'T GO AND ASK FOR THIS, as it was a special and shouldn't have been a sub item our waitress made it happen but I suspect it was a one time thing. Either way I was so impressed she made it work. Our entire meal was beyond delicious, my mom had the lobster roll and my cousin had the chicken Caesar wrap, they both loved them. To end our meal we had the Lava Cookie Sundae which again was perfection. From the food to the service everything was far more than I could expect and it was all tied together with a charming environment and twinkle lights. I can't wait to go back with my husband!

Lorenzo H.

Yelp
Ambiance-4/5 good, clean, and new. Food-3.8/5-Decent tasting food, but nothing extraordinary Service 2.5/5-Sometimes get rude waiters or waitresses, but overall descent service. (Note ratings round, the actual rating is 3.45/5)

Yelp
I had take out so can rally only speak to that. Quick and easy. Food was delicious just what I was looking for. Staff was courteous too.

Dominic P.

Yelp
Bar service was slow unless you were a regular. Had buffalo tenders appetizer and it was awful. Definitely frozen tenders, dry AF, asked for blue cheese came out with ranch, asked again for blue cheese and brought ranch back out, I've had better Tyson frozen fingers than this . The worst I've ever had.

Yelp
We had gone here opening night several years ago when there were different owners. There were a lot of kinks, but that was to be expected for opening night. Kept an eye on reviews, and they stayed consistently average. Last night, we needed a place to grab a bite to eat, and it's super close to home, so we decided to give it a try again, given that new ownership had expressed interest on social media in patrons having a better food experience and a more welcoming environment. Admittedly, we are a little bit snobby about food, and generally choose four stars and above. We decided to be okay with a 3 1/2 star in favor of convenience, and pretty happy that we did. Everything about the experience was great! We were greeted by a hostess and seated right away on a busy Friday night. Our waitress was wonderful, I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, but she was attentive, offered great food advice, and was very pleasant. (She highly recommended her favorite lava chocolate chip cookie dessert, we were too full to try.) We sat in the dining room, and it wasn't very loud at all. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich special, and I decided to have an appetizer dinner. He really enjoyed the sandwich, my food was excellent! I got the bang bang cauliflower, and the dry rubbed wings. The dry rubbed wings were cooked to perfection. They were golden and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The bang bang Colliflower was incredibly flavorful. The jalapeño/mango sauce and ranch dipping sauce complemented each other really well. We would definitely choose to go here again.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday night around 730. The place was very busy. We sat in the dining area. Because it was busy. we were seated in the middle of the room. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Once a few patrons had left and there was a booth open, she happily helped us move from the center table to a booth. We had been previously, and my husband had enjoyed the prime rib, so he ordered that again and thoroughly enjoyed it again. I had the OSBG pasta (pasta with chicken peas, bacon, onions, and a cream sauce) it was enjoyable and the garlic toast that came with it was really flavorful. However, the place is very loud. When sitting in the middle, we could not hear each other, moving to a booth was helpful. We would return.

Katherine A.

Yelp
We met friends and had a great meal. Great food large portions. Easy parking. Quick service and comfortable seating.
google avatar

Magoo L.

Yelp
Loved and hated this place. It's super loud so if you are indoors don't count on having a conversation, unless you yell. Food was great! Very gluten friendly place! Staff was great! Overall it was good, I'll likely go back but it's not a place I just HAVE to go to.

Michael D.

Yelp
Very shady place. Watch your credit card receipt. They added an unauthorized tip to my check. I left them a cash tip. When contacted Michelle claimed she would credit me the amount. she didn't seem surprised that this happened. I never received the credit, had to call three more times asking for the credit. After my bank called , Bonnie said I could come in person to get the cash. Again she did not seem surprised by the "mistake" as they call it. Do not frequent this unscrupulous business.
google avatar

Yelp
Old School has taken a turn for the worse. It has always been SUPER LOUD with limited seating other than in the Bar Section or Outside. The Dining Room is typically not available due to limited staffing. We usually put up with these inconveniences because the food is worth it. BUT NO MORE. The Steak Tips used to be a highlight. The House Marinade had an excellent flavor and a nice spicy taste. Fast forward to today. The Steak Tips are now the run of the mill Bourbon Marinated which equals no flavor. Most Chain Restaurants feature more originality and better flavor. Other menu items are likewise unappealing. A Chipotle Chicken Wrap consisted of a few pieces of Fried Chicken Tenders, RAW Bacon and a huge handful of bagged, shredded Cheese. Just gross. Chicken Caesar Wrap was marginally better if you don't mind super dry chicken. Sweet Potato Fries are really good! Overall; NOT RECOMMENDED due to limited seating, loud environment and poor food preparation.

Yelp
As ALWAYYYYS... Old School killed it. I have never had a meal here that I didn't love. Their Mac n cheese tonight (and every time we get it) is bar none to anywhere else in Southern Nh. Their chicken and waffle special was fun and they actually served it with maple syrup and not some weird gravy like other places. In addition, I don't drink alcohol and they have three delicious mock-tails on the menu. I switch up which one I get each time. Their dessert special didn't disappoint. It was a cannoli dip. I was only slightly bummed we didn't have more cannoli pieces to dip into it. I thought about eating it with a spoon of nice they were gone. Service is always above par here too. Atmosphere is superior as well. Hope they leave the white Xmas lights up year round.

Madi C.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to go! My family of 6 went here, 4 of us got steak tips. We couldn't stop talking about how good it was - the marinade is amazing! Plus, I'm gluten free and there are many options for me. Service was great - quick and friendly. Ambiance is excellent.

Melissa F.

Yelp
Finally got to visit Old school for the first time Saturday night and we were very happy. It was at about 6:30 at prime dinner time rush, but the wait wasn't bad and the hostess was very friendly and welcoming. The decor and ambience of the place is very nice with the Christmas lights on the ceiling, and eye pleasing decor. Love the cozy looking booths. (We'll try next!) We took first available seating and ended up at a table in the back corner in the bar area. It was louder than usual, but to be expected for the type atmosphere. Nothing obnoxious. Our waitress was friendly and prompt, considering a place was packed. I ordered the fried haddock with green beans and garlic, and the vegetable of the day which was excellent and large portions. I could barely finish it, and had some to take home. The husband got fish tacos and a side of garlic fries and chocolate lava cake for dessert. The chocolate martinis were great and my husband enjoyed his Maine lunch beer. Overall everything was excellent and we would definitely be back!

Yelp
Well what happened? We had such a great experience last week we went back with our best friends. We RAVED a about the food and service. Went back yesterday Sept 17. If I could give it a zero I would. We were sat in the bar. It was extremely noisy. Service was slow, but we ordered. The food came out and all four dishes were room temperature at best. The haddock casserole was over cooked and room temp. My wife and our friend had the steak tips. Overdone and also both room temperature. I asked for something special. I wanted the PEI Mussels over pasta served as a meal. Again they came out room temp but the delicious spicy red sauce looked like it was omitted and a whole different sauce was used. Not as tasty as the mussels were last week. We were so disappointed. I don't think I could recommend this place or go back it was that bad.

Max B.

Yelp
I went in last Sunday with my girlfriend and our two friends and immediately sat at a high top in the bar area. Which was great because we got to watch the games on the many tvs. Our server, Sam, was great, coming by to ask if we needed anything frequently but not too often. Overall, I found the atmosphere great and the service was fantastic. The food was great and I definitely will be going back.
google avatar

Barry S.

Yelp
A Typical pub style restaurant and bar. Not bad. Not great. Three of us sat in the bar area to watch the football game. I had the grilled chicken and bacon sandwich. The chicken was a bit on the dry side and thus slightly tough. I ordered the onion rings as a side and they were lackluster, tasting like they were of the frozen type. I should have went with the fries as they looked better. The others in the party were "satisfied" with their selections but not raving about them. All in all I give it a solid Meh. The best part of the visit was the service. Our server was terrific. She was attentive and friendly, even on a busy football crowd afternoon.

Yelp
This review is for takeout and specifically for the Buffalo Mac! Every time I go to my friends house, she has leftover Mac & cheese from Old School and she will not order anything else. Well, I finally got myself some, and now I understand why it's always in her fridge. First of all, this is the largest portion of pasta I've ever received from a restaurant--even more than Cheesecake Factory or nice restaurants in the North End. It's enough to share between two people with moderate appetites, but if you're a foodie like me, you won't be able to stop eating it. There was so much chicken!!! A bit pricey for NH at $17, but it was well worth it for me because you'd be paying that price in Boston for less than half the portion. It also came with a perfectly garlic-buttered hot dog roll :) Can't wait to go back and try the BBQ Buff Mac that my friend got!

John L.

Yelp
great specials and great bartenders . the lighting is nice and the tvs serve their purpose. the manager Michelle is alway welcoming and Ryan and Briana always greet us with a smile!
google avatar

Yelp
Typical just OK pub food in a strip mall, wouldn't go out of my way. Food just OK, locals hanging out

Adriana T.

Yelp
Went to the bar after a long rough day. Leanna was absolutely amazing. Has a great personality. Just her energy alone made me feel so much better. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
I live in NC but have not been back to New England since Covid. After landing in Manchester I drove right to this place. Outstanding food and fun. I am only here for 3 days so save me a seat at the bar for the next 3 days

Lauren H.

Yelp
Terrible management. Waitress asked if we wanted to upgrade our boneless wings to a platter with fries. They forgot our appetizer, the food came out cold and order was wrong. When the bill came, we were surprised to see the up charge to fries cost $14!When we complained to management they said they don't offer the option to upgrade anymore. They only took off $7 - didn't make it right. The wait staff was overwhelmed, never refilled our water or asked how our meal was - too many tables, and no empathy from the manager.

Yelp
Went for dinner with Martha one night recently. I'd heard raves about this place so was expecting more than a strip mall restaurant. Like a cute Old renovated School House I guess. It's not. PRO-Nice drink menu, fairly standard pub menu. Super quick food delivery. I got the Chicken Cesear wrap & Martha had a burger. One of us got fries, the other the onion rings. Fries were good. Food came on metal cafeteria type trays, that was different. CON- Kinda dark inside, booths/tables, nothing special. Onion rings were just standard, from the bag ones. Get the fries SO- Nothing terrible, but nothing great enough for us to want to rush back anytime soon, sorry to say. So my rating "Just OK".
google avatar

Dave G.

Yelp
Went there with a groups of five of us. I ordered the old school burger well done. It came out medium rare and there was three blond hairs in the sweet potato fries. They said they will remake the meal. The second one came out rare also!! They did take it off the bill and gave me a gift card for I have no idea they never told me and there is not anything written on it, Honestly how hard is it to cook a well done burger??

Linda K.

Yelp
Had the large won tons with ahi tuna and were great. Ordered lobster roll, lobster Mac and cheese, fried fish, chicken tenders and everyone was happy with take out. They can get busy on weekends so plan on getting there early. Could be a wait but since patio is open will help with wait. Great servers and owner Lauren.

Julia P.

Yelp
Cocktails had little if not any alcohol. 3 of us got drinks and we all came to the conclusion that they poor little if not any at all. Really disappointing.

Yelp
I finally got a chance to try some of the food from Old School. It was take out so I really can't comment on the decor and ambiance. Although, when I did pick up the found I did find it a very typical of American bar and grill-type establishments. I tried the fish and chips but learned it is not necessarily a guarantee you will get chips with your fish! Over the phone, I ordered fish and chips and was told that it comes with two sides. That surprised me a bit so I asked what they were and ordered string beans as the rest of the sides did not appeal to me. I asked if I could get two as I did not like any of the others and since I was getting chips, certainly did not want more potatoes. When I arrived home, to my surprise - no chips! I called the restaurant and the manager explained how it works. If you want chips you need to request them as side. She offered to credit me a portion of the cost and I am still waiting (been about a month) :(
google avatar

Josh M.

Yelp
Some of the slowest service I've experienced, sat at a table in the bar and our waitress was no where to be found, went to the bar repeatedly to ask for a beer but was told to wait for my server and after I would order one it would take about 15 minutes to receive.
google avatar

Dana H.

Yelp
I appreciate that the music has been turned down around dinner time. I love the prime rib, the pretzels and cheese are outstanding. Steak tips were extremely too marinated. Service was good and we will be back.

Luca S.

Yelp
Good place overall but they messed up my order. I wanted fried chicken Mac and cheese but they gave me the plain Mac and cheese.
google avatar

Bill W.

Yelp
had dinner here with my sister, her husband and my wife. 2 went with the tips and chicken, one with the fried haddock and I went the prime rib. Our waitress was I believe Missy, great personality and service. my wife had the haddock and the piece was so big it filled her plate, she enjoyed the meal and unable to finish it. my sister and husband had the tips and chicken and were very happy with it and had plenty to bring home my prime rib as tender and tasty and even though I went with the smaller cut there was plenty to fill the to go bag.

Bill B.

Yelp
Went for lunch with my GF on a weekday. A burger and a bowl of pasta, 2 beers and 2 margaritas was $92. A little over-priced I would say.

Amy D.

Yelp
My husband and I had sat at the bar and had dinner on 7/3. We paid our check via credit card and left a good tip via cash. On the receipt, my husband wrote "CASH" in the tip amount and signed the check. Two days later the charge showed up on my bank statement online; however, the amount that was charged was different than what he signed for. My husband called them on 7/8 and spoke to Michelle (apparently a mgr). She acknowledged there was an issue and assured my husband that she would put a credit through for the difference. A couple of days later, still no credit so my husband called again. He now spoke with Bonnie (apparently another mgr). She mentioned that the credit may take another day. Two days later, my husband and I had to get our bank involved to put pressure on Old School Bar and Grill as the credit was still not posted to our account. We had to then drive up there to get reimbursed via cash. The best part was that the credit was never put through our account. If you do decide to frequent this restaurant, do not use your credit card as they cannot be trusted.

Yelp
A few friends and I got together here this afternoon. It was a beautiful sunny day so we decided to sit out on the back patio. They do not take reservations. So I tried to guage the meeting time right because they had live entertainment beginning at 3:00. Today's band was a reggae one I've always enjoyed. Too early and we would be finished before they were to start .. too late and it would be too busy to get a table. Luckily we hit it just right. The patio is very nice with several basic tables and market umbrellas. The sun was intense off and on and we had wished the umbrellas tilted .. but it wasn't the case. So we each took turns more or less rotating from seat to seat rotisserie style, haha. Our server was mostly attentive bringing over menus and the special sheet. I noticed that the menu consisted mostly of basic pub fare. Nothing fancy. We ordered drinks that were quite good For food most ordered sandwiches and another a salad. I had eaten salad 3 days in a row. So decided to go with a sandwich ...a turkey club without the turkey or bacon. Try ordering that sometime and see the looks you get!!! It came with a side of fries. The whole thing was actually pretty good. My friend's said their orders were also good. Throughout the meal we really didn't see our server ..but it was okay. We did see her when we were finished. It was pretty hot. So we ordered another round of drinks also with glasses of water. By this time the band were in full swing... Awesome! They sounded really good. So we stayed and listened for their 1st set. 2 friends got dessert. I had a refill drink. Perfect. We then settled up our bills. I found this place ito be good. The food they serve isn't fancy by any means. But what they do serve is done well. I'm not sure if or when I'll return only because it's a drive for me.

Yelp
We tried the new Old School Bar and Grill that recently opened in Windham. A Friday evening, the place was hopping, and the bar packed! There is no reservation system or beepers. They add your name to a list and you have to check back every so often to see where you are on the list. Very odd. Got some pumpkinhead ale on draft at the bar with no issue and enjoyed it while we waited for a table. The space is huge and very loud. Vaulted ceiling with no tiles- however the space is well lite with cool Edison bulbs. Another thing I spied is that they have a huge back deck! This is a huge plus and actually is hard to find a good local spot for el fresco dining in the area. The menu: Soups, salads, seafood, pasta, steaks- typical American with some flare & creative twists. Note: Its pricey, as others have noted. Not wanting to overspend, we took it easy and went with the lower priced menu items. We got soups (French Onion & chili); a prime rib sandwich, and a Old School burger. Both were good. The prime rib sandwich was a bit too greasy. Fries (previously frozen) were fine. Unremarkable. See photos. I will return here again to explore the taps and menu and hang out on that deck in good weather.

Yelp
Have had multiple great experiences. Really enjoy their chicken wraps and the original fries are delicious! (The garlic fries and sweet potato are Also good, but original is the best!) reasonably priced and great food! Have always had friendly, attentive service. Love that I can bring my dog with me to the outdoor patio on the warmer months.

Tracey L.

Yelp
Gave Old School another try. Got take out. Ribeye was veiny and not good quality. Asked for loaded mashed and they gave me, looked like one teaspoon of mashed, and three green beans. Also got the house salad with grilled chx. Chx had absolutely NO flavor or seasoning. Cost me $64.00. WAAAY overpriced for quality and quantity. Ba bye Old School.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, good gluten free options. For Celiac, they have a separate fryer. Good service too.

Yelp
Was good in the past, was not good yesterday. Bottled beer was flat...twice. Then ordered a simple vodka and cranberry juice, but it was made with tonic. This was very evident. At this point I was done complaining. My requested well done burger was cooked rare. Very disappointing night.
