How to Plan a Ski Trip to Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia

"Set in a converted schoolhouse classroom decorated with black-and-white photos from its school days, this restaurant embraces the classroom vibe while serving new-school Asian and Mediterranean dishes. Loved this restaurant! We'd definitely go back. The building has old charm and character, the food delicious and comforting. If you enjoy a beverage with your meal, you wont be disappointed with the cocktail selection, (the classics and some with a twist 😉). The atmosphere was inviting and we loved that they played classic rock! 9/10 for sure. Enjoy!

This is really a " top end" restaurant, with pretty reasonable prices. The menu is varied and all good. The staff is well trained and attentive... And I totally love this place. If you're into seafood at all, try the fisherman's stew or the red snapper. Both are excellent. The fish curry was decent but not as good as the previous two. A very small bone to pick which probably would be solved sometime in the future, but their Pinot Gris (by the glass) is really not very good.

A hidden gem in downtown. Great bar, excellent menu with something for everyone. The Brussel Sprouts were an excellent starter. The warm harvest saled is hardy and a gear sharable dish. The lamb chops were outstanding. The chicken parm was prepared non traditional with a nice pesto sauce in place of the red sauce. All the sides added perfectly to the mains.

On the edge of town you can find Old School Eatery. As the name suggests the restaurant is set in the old classroom of the Mountain View School. Other businesses occupy parts of the building. Be sure to book as the restaurant gets busy, having eaten there I can understand why! Portion sizes are generous so we opted for just mains. Highly recommend the Chicken Parmigiana & the Pan seared Salmon.

We had an excellent meal this evening. I had the Seafood Thai Curry and my husband had the Salmon Burger. Both very high quality meals and tasted amazing. We were also impressed by the service on the terrace. Even though the restaurant was busy the young woman managed to serve everyone quickly and efficiently and was friendly to everyone. Would definitely recommend.

A friend of mine and I were traveling across Canada via the Trans-Canadian Highway and were looking for great food at a great prices. We were not disappointed at The Old School Eatery! The setting was cool, the food was wonderful and the service was perfect. We split an order of the full asian sticky ribs and a house salad along with an appetizer of pan seared calamari. The ribs were so tasty and the calamari was outstanding! Ali C. did a great job as our server and gave us a perfect recommendation of seeing the Yoho National Park. Thank you for the suggestion, Ali, as we thoroughly enjoyed Yoho!

Google
I was pretty surprised. I'm not sure why but absolutely everything here was really good. The poke bowl left us wanting a little more but the polenta fries were great. Burger was nice and I thought it was really great name being that it was an old school

I just got back from a great trip to Banff and I’m now in Revelstoke with my wife. Tonight we called Old School Eatery to make a reservation for dinner. When we arrived, the restaurant was full, that’s okay. Wednesday. Dinner time. When we went there… My wife tried to speak to the host (a lady) three times and was ignored every time. At the same time, other people who were waiting outside were being seated. When the host finally spoke to us, she said our table was already given to another couple, who didn’t have a reservation. No apology. Nothing. So, what’s the point of making a reservation if the restaurant won’t respect it? I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but this was not okay. We were treated with no respect and left very disappointed. We ended up going to 112 Restaurant, where we had great food, live music, and friendly service. It saved our night. We won’t go back to Old School Eatery. There are better places in Revelstoke. ;)

Yelp
Very nice experience. Cool location. The steak was delicious and cooked just right. Lot of cool cocktails . Great service

Yelp
The menu and name dissociation made me apprehensive at first to try this place, but the food was top notch, you can't go wrong with their Asian fusion dishes. Highlight was Megan whipping up some of the best bourbon old fashioned's I've had! A must try in Revelstoke, cool vibes all around!

Yelp
The staff were so friendly - they definitely tried to connect with us as visitors from out of town. The menu was super fresh and flavorful. Love it !

Yelp
Loved it! Fun theme, great servers, excellent food and entertaining bartender. We sat at the bar. Enjoyed a few professionally mixed cocktails, bao buns, Thai curry & Laksa. An old school building transformed into a dining hall. Very fun. Definitely will return next time I'm here.

Yelp
Well worth the wait!!! The food is fantastic!!! Fresh, healthy and great selection. Great atmosphere, staff are amazing. This is a most stop and worth the wait!!! Thank you for an awesome experience!!!

Chris C.

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous. Food and service were both outstanding! Try the seafood curry, you won't be able to get it out of your mind!

Yelp
Definitely worth a return visit. Great cocktails, very tasty grub. Friendly service. We sat outside as it was a lovely evening.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic, the atmosphere, food and service were second to none, loved the meal. With another couple and not one complaint

Yelp
This is such a cool space! I love that it's in an old school. The vibe is very fresh, almost feels like a low-key, cool, French bistro. I had the Elote (Mexican corn) and salmon ceviche for just a light meal. The ceviche was a little plain, but tasted fresh. The elote was bomb!! Topped off with a couple of tasty margs and I was a happy camper. Service was good and friendly, even as busy as they were.

Yelp
Dinner was disappointing. My son, who essentially eats as many Burgers as humanly possible, did not like the one at Old School. And I tried what he rejected - and also did not like it. As did my other son. The bao was ok, but the pancake was cold. The birria tacos were fine but very fried. The lamb chops were also decent, but not great. All that for $118, which seemed pricey. French fries were dry, hard, disappointing. The school is cool, though.

Yelp
Awesome staff! Nothing was too much trouble! Food awesome!

Yelp
Passing through Revelstoke on the way in or out? Next time plan to stay a bit longer and maybe plan a couple meals here! There's history in these walls and you can read about it when you get to class. Well, the classroom has been converted into a diner but it looks like anything but your typical burger joint. Don't drive past this place (it's easy to miss since they can't change the external facade of the building for historical reasons). It's in a school zone so you shouldn't be driving fast anyway. Speaking of schools, it's literally inside an old school. The staff are friendly and the food is presented with care. It's off the beaten path, but worth the excursion. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu (it changes seasonally)

Yelp
The bao buns are to die for, ribs fall of the bone. And if you just want a burger the smash burger add bacon and cheese will hit the spot

Yelp
One star for the good service from our UK waitress and one star for the Caesar salad. Not an intimate place rather a brew pub feeling is what you get. The large manager woman was rude and obnoxious. The bison I ordered must have died of old age as it was the toughest piece of meat I have ever been served. Would not recommend this place.

Yelp
Old School is one of the best places to eat in Revelstoke - I always have dinner here at least two times every time I visit.

Ellen V.

Yelp
Service was excellent! My friend and I sat at the bar for an appetizer and a beverage. I'm celiac and she has gluten sensitivity, so it was nice to see that there were some great gluten-free options on the menu, and the wine choices were great. Danny (our bartender) and Sarah (our server) gave us OUTSTANDING service and it was so lovelyyyyy! Thank you, Danny & Sarah! :-) We appreciate you! Also, the food was very yummy! Hats off to the chef! :)

Yelp
Very unique dining environment as it's located in an old local school's classroom - the name is spot-on. Food is great. Bottled cider is not locally sourced so it's not recommended. My friends and I really enjoyed the dining experience.

Yelp
This easily could be a 5 star restaurant. Our food, first time here was excellent. My wife had poke and I had chicken Parmesan. Possibly the absolute best chicken "parm" ever. Crispy, yet lightly wrapped chicken, excellent marinara with just the right amount out of chili flakes. It was great thus far but then the pasta was equally expert. Wow- very impressed with this "pub" food. My wife loved her poke which disagrees with my elderly constitution. Oh, how I wish I dared taste it! We topped off our meal with a perfectly prepared cappuccino. The only reservation I have is that the menu is limited. But for what seems to be intended as a bar they make some excellent cuisine. In my opinion the food is comparable with few fine dining establishments. Very good, indeed!

Yelp
Simply fantastic. Great ambiance, great food, great service. Reasonable price. Friendly helpful service.

M C.

Yelp
Excellent food and bar service. Interesting drinks - watch the busy bartender. Calamari was out favorite if small plates. Someone is paying attention to this fun spot in a tourist town where food can be disappointing.

Theresa H.

Yelp
Food was amazing and came so quick. The burger was fabulous and the lamb a perfect combination of savory and sweet. I will order it everytime. Staff were knowledgeable and accommodating. Love this place!

Yelp
The pork belly bao was spot on. Fluffy bao, pork cooked perfectly and the veggies were crisply pickled. Everything else was sort of a miss. The lamb was under seasoned. The mushroom gnudi was gummy and sticky. The creme brûlée almost redeemed it, but no. The staff was awesome - they all seemed like they were genuinely happy to be there and were all very friendly. It's a fun concept, but next time we will try brunch.

Yelp
Was in town for a four day ski vacation and ended up eating here twice. Food quality on par with above average SF Bay Area restaurant. The space is a charming single classroom in an old schoolhouse which closed in 2012 and sticks to the institutional theme with vintage photos, a drink menu chalkboard on one wall and black/white throughout. First time we had the Brussels sprouts which were perfectly crispy with just a bit of char and slightly sweet & balsamic vinegar sauce. The pork belly tacos had excellent flavor and texture and complimented by pickled veggies cradled in authentic buns and garnished with Korean bbq sauce. The starter salad was well dressed and fresh. The second time, I had the beet veggie burger with sautéed mushrooms & fries. Burger toppings were fresh, queso bits had the right amount aged sourness, and were nicely contained in an onion bun. The side of fries were the best I've had in two years. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. They've put a lot of work into their old / new school drink menu. I had a cocktail with gin and pepper which was slightly savory and very unique. The patrons were a mix of tourists and locals. Some wearing snow gear and fresh from the mountain while others were dressed up for a night on the town. The unassuming upscale feel and high food quality was juxtaposed against a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Wait staff was enthusiastic and attentive. My one bit of constructive feedback is that it was pretty noisy. Some window coverings or ceiling barriers would help with the echo.

Yelp
Great ambiance and pretty good food. Try to go when distillery next door is open so you can try both. Good veggie burger.

Yelp
We went for brunch today and the food was outstanding! My husband had the chicken and waffles and I had the Tacos Huevos. Both of these were generous portions- reasonably priced - fast service - good service and best of all delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit in Revelstoke!

Yelp
Amazing wine list, beautiful plates, variety and great execution are top notch the building reminds me of my elementary school.

Yelp
Canada 2020. Unabashedly using ingredients and cooking styles from all around the world, this place exceeds all expectations. Craft cocktails, artsy collage of Vietnamese, Korean, French, American, Italian, and Canadian cuisines - the very definition of foodgasm. The bavette steak medium rare was an absolute hit - perfect combo of texture, marbling, and flavor, paired well with the sautéed herbs and the British Columbia wine recommended by the staff. Pork belly tacos offer a great opportunity for creativity, and these ones did not disappoint! From the zesty-ness of the pickled onions, micro greens, and Korean sauces, to the incredible marinade - this is a must have! Michelin - hope you're reading this! Thanks for being the only place in town open on Christmas guys! I wouldn't have discovered you otherwise. This place is located in a repurposed open school, which is shared with a local distillery, making it a perfect combo for après.

Yelp
Eggs Benny was absolutely amazing and there were so many to choose from! Fantastic place to go for breakfast! Mimosas were great too!

Yelp
Visiting from Vancouver on a B.C. road trip with our 7-year-old son and stumbled upon this place on our first night in Revelstoke and we were blown away! Super flavourful and healthy food for the adults and a cute kids menu for our son. Friendly staff, great social distancing and truly lovely food! Thinking about eating here again on our 3-night stay!

Yelp
Everything I had was awesome!! Veggie burger was excellent, as well as the tomato basil soup. The cocktails were unique and tasty. The chocolate tort was amazing.

Amanda B.

Yelp
This place is legit! We took a chance since there weren't many reviews on Yelp (later we saw more great reviews on other review sites). Atmosphere is really unique. It's in an old school house. Nice clean decor and very friendly staff. We had dinner the first time around...yes it was that good we went back for brunch. We both got the steak and it was so yummy. The potatoes and green beans were also delicious. Breakfast was so good! Eggs Benedict and cobbled together side items: eggs, waffle and hash browns. All was super good but the hash browns were so tasty and flavorful. If you time it right you can check out the vodka and gin distillery in the same building. Overall super pleased by this place. You should go!

Yelp
It's one of the brightest breakfast places in Revelstoke with great views, but desperately needs sound deadening panels or some other way to absorb sound. If you're hard of hearing, it's difficult to carry on a conversation.
google avatar

Yelp
We had dinner here a few night ago and it was top notch! Our waitress Stephanie was super helpful and fun. We loved loved loved the rabbit dish with homemade pasta. The bouillabaisse was ok but wouldn't order again. We will be a back again soon - so good, highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
Great newish restaurant. Went 2 nights while on a trip. Had the veggie burger, brussel sprouts one night. All was great. Good wine and cocktail selection. Cool old school building setting.

Yelp
We are visiting from Calgary and we love eating out and we have favorite places. Revelstoke is one of those place where they have good restaurants. Old School restaurant, we were looking forward to eating the Bayou Boulabaisse. The place is cozy however they gave us a tiny table where we can barely put 2 small plates and an entree between us. The food looks good but the taste is not as good. Was really disappointed with the boulabaisse. The laksa lacks flavour. The bread and the dip taste very good though, the bread is crispy and the dip is creamy and taste is well balanced. For the price of the food, we were expecting better taste. What it lacks in taste, they make up for presentation. We were planning of coming back for brunch but after tonight, I don't think we will be there. We may try again but not anytime soon. Friendly server though.

Alice H.

Yelp
Lovely staff and atmosphere, delicious food and quick service. LOVE the Brussels sprouts and the pork belly tacos.

Yelp
Great first impression! Responsive staff, excellent remodelled location in the old Revelstoke schoolhouse. Food was awesome- belly tacos were the favourite of the group as a starter, we had the braised lamb, burgers and a few of the salads and all were excellent. Good selection of beer, wine and spirits from the distillery across the hall. We will be trying to make it back for breakfast before we go!

Dan D.

Yelp
We came here twice on our visit to Revelstoke. Food was excellent, service was great and the place had a cool atmosphere. Definitely at the top of the Revelstoke restaurant scene.

Andrew N.

Yelp
Great locally owned and operated restaurant serving up an amazing range of carefully thought out meals. All the menu items on the menu are unique to Revelstoke and can't be found anywhere else in town. Definitely a go to if you're stopping by for only one night, and worth multiple trips if you're staying longer cos they're open for brunch too!!

Jocelyn C.

Yelp
We could not have enjoyed dinner and drinks here any more! Amazing food, wine and beer menus and truly outstanding service! Great atmosphere. We can't wait to go back!

Matthew M.

Yelp
If you are passing through Revelstoke and dread the thought of another Big Mac, definitely give this restaurant a go! We ordered takeout and it was both fast and delicious!
