Old Town Brewing has been in the Alberta arts district neighborhood for a long time. This place has great food, beer, and service. The pizza is fantastic, the crust is dense, but also light, the said has a great blend from the xhesse pizza, vegetarian and the meat. Quality pizza throughout. Fast service and great atmosphere. Huge patio and second floor mezzanine for rental. Average prices, vegetarian options and disability friendly.

Solid pizza joint with tons of seating, roomy, an upstairs and TVs throughout showing games. Our server was cool and friendly, providing great service even though we came in an hour before closing - appreciated that. Starters: garlic knots were fresh and delicious. The marinara sauce is awesome. Artichoke dip is pretty good, comes with warm pita bread. Pizza: we ordered 4 larges (8 slices) for 6 people and it was more than enough. There’s two options for crust, original and thin crust - actually, there’s a gluten free option too. BBQ chicken was solid but pepperoncinis were weird. Add bacon. Great addition. The pesto was tasty but be prepared for a lot of cheese - this is a heavy pizza. Finally, we ordered a veg one (forgot the name) with artichokes mushrooms and sundries tomatoes (this was my fave of the bunch).

This was great PIZZA! The crust was probably the best so far in #PDX. The bartender - Kevin - so cool dude. Very nice and friendly, answered all my questions about the ingredients and. . . Wait for it . . . Turned me into a Mushroom based Ale and a Cucumber based Lager. I chose the Council Crest Cucumber Lager and what a fantastically refreshing Beer. He told me the sell their beers in a 32 oz Crowler - which he explained was a Can Growler. Now, that's going to keep cool in the cooler at the beach and drifting down the Washougal River this summer. The Mushroom Ale was tasty indeed - it uses Candy Cap Mushrooms in with the one additional Hop. Wow - Incredible Beer and really great crust - NYC taste in my mouth still - Pizza. Now, as y'all know - I'm a vegetarian. So, can't review the meaty varieties of the pizza's - that's up to all of you. But - I will say this - I always start with the Cheese and go from there. As you can see from my pics - the Cheese was so damn tasty, the crust rocked my world - I ordered a Veggie - and was even more delighted. Veggie slice of the day had Bell Peppers, Red Onions, hint of Pepperoncini (did not over power it) and Cheddar cheese as toppings. Usually I shy away from Cheddar as a topping but this time I was really impressed. The always have Cheese and Pepperoni slices daily, said Kevin. But he did tell me they cycle through the meaty choice and the Veggie Choice of the day. In addition - as I still wanted more of that amazing NYC tasting pizza crust - I think I will order one of their whole pie choices or build my own next time. That way I can bring some home for my roommate and/or try it cold when I wake up in the middle of the night craving more. Tasty taste buds I know are going to be craving this for some time to come. Highly suggest this place - Highly! Tip Kevin good now - ya hear?

Bar was busy with a party on the upper seating area. Once I got to the bartender, they were nice and accommodating. Wait to order pizza was not too long, pizza took about 20 minutes to get delivered to our table. Pizza was very good

Google
My bf and I ordered the ‘chicken, onion, Alfredo sauce and with mushroom’ pizza It was actually a pub favorite from the menu and sadly we didn’t get a picture of the pizza before we devoured it. We will be back before we leave back to TX. Great beer, great music selection, great flavor. Thanks again!

Google
We visited for pizza week. The pizza was great (rosemary cream sauce, kale, potatoes), although it’s not on the regular menu. The crust was perfectly cooked and the toppings were balanced well. We got a nice table outside and the service was prompt and friendly. We’ll definitely be back.

Google
We had avoided OTB for a number of years after mediocre food/beer experiences but decided to give it another go on pizza week '22 which was like something had changed; the food was really good and the beers went down real easy! Went on a weeknight and it was crazy busy but the staff handled it like it was nothing.

Yelp
Wow, it's not often I am surprised but I was today! The NY style pizza is outstanding, truly. I am a New Yorker and hard to please. Perfect sauce to cheese ratio, awesome chewy NY style crust and I was able to fold into the perfect slice (IYKYK). Oh the garlic knots should be their own food group. Well done Doug!

Yelp
Atmosphere: Standard brewery type atmosphere. Overall decent Food: Pizza was pretty good Price: Price was reasonable for brewery Service: Good service. Bartender was very friendly and gave a few samples out Parking: Street parking but wasn't hard to find a spot

Yelp
I'm not a beer drinker... so I skipped this place for way too long.... Don't make the same mistake I made. The pizzas are a-maz-ing! Great interior with plenty of outside seating on these perfect summer/autumn days. We've always enjoyed good service .... Friendly staff.... Great location in MLK (for us anyway!)

Yelp
My company had our holiday party at Old Town Brewing. The space is pretty cool and the pizza was very tasty! I especially liked the bbq chicken pizza. They also have good ranch if you're a ranch on pizza monster. As a non beer drinker I wasn't impressed with their non-beer options but I'm sure the beer is good if you're into that. I would go back for the pizza and my partner would enjoy the pizza and beer again as well.

Yelp
I've been dying to come here and I'm happy I was finally able to go. I will say this is possibly the most underrated Popular brewery in our city. Really good beer but the pizza takes it over the top which is some of the best city. Also love the fact how easy it is to get to right on MLK. The service was amazing and the quests I met there were just as awesome as well. It has some of the best out door seating too. I'm most definitely going back soon.

Yelp
This place was great! We stopped in purely on impulse and were very surprised with the quality and the ambience. We got a Detroit-style pizza with chicken, pepperoni, and basil, half a dozen garlic knots, meatballs, and a couple of cocktails. (The serving sizes are all great, we intentionally got a ton of food to have leftovers.) The pizza was seriously 9/10, with great flavor, airy dough, and a perfect caramelization of cheese. The garlic knots were equally excellent, and the meatballs were also very good. Our drinks were only $5, which was reasonable for the size. The total for everything I described was $50, which I think was extremely fair. The service was also great, and the cook time was speedy. It's a very cute little place that doesn't feel like it matches its unimpressive neighborhood. We'll definitely come back at some point.

Yelp
Best balls! 5 meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce with gooey cheese! the garlic knots were okay--strong garlic but a little half-baked. also had a slice, which was mediocre, char isn't everything. The beer was exceptional. The server friendly. Very pretty place, log cabin lodge in the heart of the city. Was well into my meal--hungry--before i remembered to take a picture.

Yelp
Came upon this spot at the right time. I had been walking in the rain for what felt like forever, and needed a nice place to sit and have a drink....Listen to some jams and remember that someone has the most beautiful singing voice ever... They keep it COVID compliant. Seating is super spaced out. You order at the bar and then can choose which sanatized table you fancy. There were a lot of beers to choose from. Like... a lot. Old Town IPA: they call it west coast style... maybe I'm used to this style to such a degree that it simply tastes of a hoppy IPA to me. I wonder what other styles and tastes my West coast living has robbed me of? I didn't try anything else, but can tell you the service was good! I'd definitely return to try out some more selections. This visit had to be kept somewhat short as I had puddles to step in, and shivers to shiver... walking around on a cold rainy Saturday is of course serious work!

Yelp
Pizza and brewery for the win here! Sports tv hung up and lodging kind of ambiance with a bar and brew machines on the other side! Came here because the comedy show was right next door so decided to grab some food before getting some laughs in! Nice beer selections! Pizza was of the norm and complimenting to the beer!

Yelp
Don't write a negative review if you want to come back. I wrote the truth in my reviews, good or bad and I got banned from coming back to my neighborhood haunt. Adam I have never cause any drama but as a consumer I expect a standard of service which I did not get on my last visit. Adam would you not speak up if you got bad, no not bad terrible service from an servicer? If I owned a business I would like to know what's happening to my customers. I was just told by Doug that my beer is free and after I finish it go and don't come back. BTW I have been a customer since 1977 at their Old Town location.

Yelp
After arriving at an impasse about where to eat on a Saturday night, we ended up at Old Town Brewing Co at 6:00 pm. The place was half empty except for a birthday party of little kids, happy in their balloon festooned corner. First, the good: the salad we ordered, the Brewer's Special, was full of fresh, crisp spinach, lettuce, decent tomatoes, crispy bacon bits and tender chicken chunks. The dressing wasn't exciting, vinegar based and pretty bland, but it didn't overwhelm the salad. The pizza, a crispy crust margarita, was a mixed bag. The sauce was a sweet, I spiced red. My partner like it. Me, not so much. The crispy. Rust was not crispy at all, except for the outside edges. It was soggy and rubbery under the weight of the toppings. I do not recommend it. The mozzarella was nice. The fresh tomatoes actually had flavor. We added mushrooms but they were hard to find, so few of them were there. The menu is written in the tiniest font that it is not accessible. Make sure to bring reading glasses. Our server was friendly and efficient. I won't be rushing back but it looked like the family with the large kid's party were happy enough.

Yelp
This used to be a 4 star for me but not anymore.... greed has set in. I asked for the happy hour menu and was told they quit doing it on Friday and Saturday. I explained that we have been coming out of our way for the last year and a half for happy hour. Get this she told me they are keeping up with their competitors!!!! Haha. Instead of staying ahead of them they are taking away to make more profit. They just lost my group of 6 that comes over 1-2 times a month. By the way I am the duke here. But then aren't brewpubs just flourishing in Portland anyway?

Yelp
Pizza Week Review: 10 of 10 consecutive pizza slices I want to start off saying, I am no professional... I did eat 10 different companies slices on one day, one after another... so yeah... I will start with my one gripe... DROP THE BLACK BEANS OFF MY PIZZA!! Now the pizza, I don't quote much, but just listen to this! Beer-braised barbacoa brisket baked with black beans and finished with pickled onions, cotija, cilantro, and chipotle crema Do you hear that... let it sink in. This was my favorite, along with blackbird pizza, for pizza week... I will say this, the crust was perfect... the sauce was amazing, the toppings were untouchable, the crema... I could have gotten an IV drip if they offered it. Onions were still crunchy, oh and that meat.. It was great. The staff was all happy attractive people whizzing around and getting work done, they were probably the friendliest staff we saw that day, and the place was packed.. I will be back to check out thew offerings!! Killer job!

Yelp
Pizza is great! Ordered several kinds for a large group ... my favorite by far was the Mediterranean - really delicious.

Yelp
we returned for lunch last saturday after a funeral....i had a light hopped lager, called american lager, and my partner had a hard seltzer or hard cider i think...next, we shared the cheese bread and a large spinach salad minus bacon.....the food/drink was great and the vibe nice and relaxed....good mix of music courtesy of the chef, per our staff person....he was real nice and informative, and funny.....thx so much.....

Yelp
Some of the best pizza I have ever had. Beer selections are fantastic, with a good number brewed on site. The staff here are nice and well mannered, and the location feels like a loggers cabin near a ski resort. Stop in and grab a pint and a slice, you won't regret it.

Yelp
took my money, canceled my tour, never refunded me. what a disgraceful business! beware of their side hustle. the shanghai tunnel tour is a scam!

Yelp
To be honest, we typically stay away from dining at breweries because the atmosphere tends to be on the more lively side...and we enjoy our silence :) That aside, it was worth checking out for carry-out during COVID on the suggestion of a friend. We were very glad to go! It was pizza Friday (that's a thing) and we ordered a thin-crust, large Ghost Pie. That pizza lasted two days, two meals...not because it's so big but we didn't want to seem like gluttons. But yes, the pizza is a great size. I was apprehensive about an alfredo based pie thinking of all the ways it could go wrong and their team shocked me. What a great pizza! The pizza was baked to perfection, the crust/dough was out of this world (with great flavors) and the sauce was perfect and served as the perfect accent to the other flavors. We'll definitely be going back especially since they are 2-3 blocks from us in a walkable part of town. Their service and their spirits were great despite the ongoing community health crisis. Thanks OTB team. Everyone stay safe and stay well and we will see more of you.

Yelp
Very fun and quirky place with great pizzas and brews. I love the crust. Great service and courteous staff. Parking was not bad at all.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza by the slice which is great, and even better if you enjoy rubbery pizza. Ordered the Caesar salad, the dressing tasted sour. My wife took one bite and asked to send it back. However, we were still charged for it. No apology, no offer of an alternative, just a rude response of "I have to charge you what you order". The first time we came in (pre-Covid) it was great. New staff equals different results. There's plenty of other breweries out there.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Nice brewery! I had a lemon blonde which was really good, had a nice lemon flavor. I also sampled the elderflower beer as well. I liked the space it definitely had a cozy vibe. They also serve pizza here, I didn't have any but it looked pretty good. Overall, it was a good stop I would recommend it.
google avatar

Humam T.

Yelp
I am updating my review. I am still giving it 5 stars even though my beer Export 80 was not good. It tasted like cough medicine with some chemical taste in it. The pizza was good. We had the original crust which was on the chick. It tasted good though. It is also on th e pricey side. The knots or not good at all. The meatball and spaghetti was very good. It's a cool place to hang out though.

Yelp
Stopped by here to check out one of the local breweries of Portland. The restaurant has a very rustic feel, which enhanced my experience. There's a large comfy couch and a reclaimed wood coffee table by a fireplace that gives a very homey cabin-like feel. A+ for ambiance! The restaurant signage is clearly visible from the Main Street (MLK), and the front entrance is actually on the side street (NE Sumner). I ordered the Sun Dazed, a Kölsch-style ale. It comes in a proprietary beer glass with "Portland, Oregon" written on it and a lip on the edge of the glass that makes drinking smooth and comfortable. The beer was crisp, fresh, refreshing, and went down well. The glass is not complimentary but can be purchased for $5. There is a display of merchandise by the front door where items can be purchased. The server was friendly, but she was also the bartender, meaning double duty and longer wait times. There was nothing particularly memorable or customized in our experience with the server. Although the restaurant was fairly slow, I enjoyed the ambiance, the beer, and the convenient location.

Kevin W.

Yelp
Took the underground tour here and it was entertaining. Had Natasha for a tour guide she is great! Has a lot of passion for what she's doing and knowledge of the town's history. Pizza was good too! Can't take food on the tour so either eat after or arrive a little early and enjoy a slice before it begins.

Yelp
Had a great time here. I was in a big group and they managed our unruly crowd beautifully. Food arrived quickly with a smile. I enjoyed a few beers. The first a lovely hazy IPA that went with our house special pizza. The pizza was good, nice crust with flavorful toppings.. they have a variety of seasonal beers that are definitely worth trying. The environment has a very comfortable Pacific Northwest pub feel. Great place to have a few pints with friends.

Yelp
We were waiting for the Bye & Bye to open for lunch so we stopped here for a drink and appetizer. It opened at 11:30am so we were good to go. A ton of seating, upstairs and downstairs, very awesome. We sat at the bar because there was no one else there and we didn't want to stay long. My +1 ordered the seasonal Sleepwalker IPA, he ordered this instead of the regular because it was more hoppy then the regular. He was very happy with it, said it was delicious and very hoppy so he loved it. We ordered the garlic knots, they were huge! I was not expecting them to be as large as they were. We've had garlic knots before and man, these are double the sizes. So so good. We only ate half of them because this was supposed to be our appetizer, not meals!! But great flavors. Service was good, bartender was very sweet and attentive. It was our only brewery so I'm happy this was s good place!
google avatar

Iain C.

Yelp
Tasty pizza & appetizers at a great venue that will be even better once we can dine inside Plenty of outdoor seating but if not a busy night then don't expect it to be placed outside
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Have been here a few times in the past and most recently again for takeout during COVID. Amazing pizzas! The crusts have always been perfectly cooked and pizza/ toppings so flavorful! The garlic knots are super good too. Very buttery tho and somewhat flaky like a crescent. For pizzas, they also have GF and vegan cheese options for the tummy sensitive peeps! Great selection of yummy beers. Can't wait for this place to re-open so I can dine in and enjoy a beer at the bar.

Yelp
We were down in Portland last weekend for my birthday. It has become a tradition to go there when I hit 29 again each year. ;) Steve and I did a mini brewery tour in the North Portland neighborhood. One thing with visiting breweries in Portland...you kind of just need to make the plunge and start visiting some simply because there are just so many choices all over the city and there is not really a good starting point unless you do make the plunge. Old Town Brewing was one of the breweries that we went to. Out of all honesty it was probably my least favorite of the five that we went to but it wasn't necessarily a dissatisfying experience. We got seated right away when the place was moderately busy and the service was friendly and eager to please. No complaints there. It just wasn't some of the more memorable beer that I came across during this excursion is all.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Even during these trying times, this place is one of the best! The owner is doing EVERYTHING he can to stay open and survive! the food is wonderful, and their beers are simply some of the BEST anywhere. Call ahead and to place your order and don't forget that they sell growlers, cans and kegs of their fantastic beers!
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
We were in town to house shop in Portland. Stopped here on our way to the airport to kill sometime. The place was empty but I'm guessing it was because it was the middle of a Sunday. I can see this location drawing more of a crowd during happy hour and dinner. The great thing about this place is they offer Happy Hour prices all week long! We were seated on the big comfy couch next to the fireplace. It was the perfect way to spend our last couple hours in Portland on a chilly day. Watching football by a fireplace sipping an ice cold beer. We both ordered the German Kolsch. I picked the the Fresh Daze and my fiancé selected the Sun Dazed. My beer boasted a lot more flavor and it being an ale it was a warm amber color. My fiances Kolsh was bright yellow and was very crisp and delightful. The food menu looked great and we will definitely be back once we're all moved into the neighborhood. Great location for lunch, dinner, a party (lots of space upstairs) or even to just stop by and grab a beer. Prices were spot on. Beer and Food menu had plenty of variety. Staff was exceptional! Parking in back and on the street.
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
Old Town Brewing is Home to one of my very favorite ales, so it was a no brainer that I added a visit to their brewery on our recent trip to Portland. We enjoyed a flight of a number of brews they had on draft but didn't get a chance to try the good while we were there. I enjoyed a number of the beers I sampled and I made sure to take a bottle of their Mushroom Ale for later. This beer is delectable, I highly recommend it! Situated in a medium size strip mall, I love the fact that they have their own parking lot, which is hard to come by in PDX.
google avatar

Melanie T.

Yelp
I love the atmosphere here it's definitely family-friendly. I even saw a mom nursing her baby. You know I think that's awesome! The food is pretty good even though the menu isn't that large. No dessert menu! Maybe that's a good thing. The spaghetti doesn't have an option for meat sauce, only marinara which is already planned. But the meatballs are okay. I take that back they tasted like dog food. Okay, moving on. We order a 12 inch pizza with pepperoni sausage and mushroom again. We like it a little crispy and they did not disappoint.

Sergio G.

Yelp
Leslie is an absolute delight! Came here for a gift for a friend but stayed for the beer, bomb pizza and good company. Aesthetic of the place is very cool and a great place to be at.

Charlie M.

Yelp
We are dog sitting for our son and his family so dining out is desirable! Searching through Yelp is a great tool, one made better as you can sort by distance! Great news for us as we found the Olde Town Brewing Company. Let's start where it all begins, the draft! Great selection of IPAs, a Pilsner for something light and a selection of dark, with Dark Helmet (love SpaceBalls) hitting ludicrous speed. Main menu is pizza, withe a rice crust for GF peeps! Start off with the meatballs with garlic knots (add an extra order of knots to get all the tomato sauce. Staff are friendly and helpful in your beverage selection. Spirits are a good representation with gin featuring Hendricks and my fave Bombay Sapphire! Tins are prepped for sale with optional 32oz Growlers for draft purchases. Facility has a party area upstairs where you can have pitchers and food for your party! A special thanks to M for her help deciding on food and beverages. Go visit her at the bar! I know we are just visiting, but as our family lives down the street, we will be back!
google avatar

Jake W.

Yelp
Solid beer, great pizza, fantastic service, nice atmosphere. Went in on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a couple pints (their Belché- Mexican style amber and their award-winning IPA). Garlic knots are tasty and filling. Marinara sauce could use improvement. Very chill on a Sunday. Not a lot of people, blasting reggae. My kind of place!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
We had 4 adults and 4 kids on a Friday night. The gentleman that took our name suggested that we go elsewhere as they were unable to accommodate such a large party. I was disappointed and surprised to hear such an odd statement as we have had no problem before. Oh well, I don't think I can come back due to the principle.
google avatar

William P.

Yelp
If Little Caesars were a brewery it would be Old Town Brewing Co. Their beers are actually quite good but the pizza is just terrible. Think mediocre frozen pizza from the grocery store..... You know those commercials where people can't tell the difference between delivery and Digiorno.... I can't tell the difference between Old Town Pizza and Digiorno.
google avatar

Patti S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious pizza I will most definitely order again! Girl who delivered the pizza was awesome and very charming. Delicious
google avatar

Kenny O.

Yelp
Food is very good - pizza is delicious, Alfredo with chicken is a solid meal !! environment is rustic,,old warehouse conversion - fireplace inside for rainy chilly days -open glass bay doors to outdoor seating on warm sunny days.. Comfortable seating inside - very cozy an welcoming !!
google avatar

Shelby J.

Yelp
I have to say this is an amazing place to go and grab a drink or two and top it off with some dank rustic style pizza! Tony was our bartender and I have one thing to say- TOTAL VIBES. Great guy to relay the days troubles too. I highly recommend stopping in. My new go-to spot!
google avatar

Electra L.

Yelp
I gave this place another chance after the manager reached out to me. He was concerned about my experience and wanted to make things right. Well, he did! After receiving a gift card in the mail, I phoned in an order to pick up a large pizza. I brought home the "Dragon Lady" and was very very tasty. Even my roommate was impressed. I never could imagine capers on a pizza, but this totally worked. Thank you, Old Town for coming through!
google avatar

Danielle V.

Yelp
This place really surprised me, they had a unique vibe and a nice indoor and outdoor space. Their Portland Pizza Week special was one of the best around, I loved it! Great beer variety too! I would definitely come back here for more food & drinks. Thanks!
google avatar

Chris G.

Yelp
The place has a very clean restroom. You may think why is that part of a review? Well let's just check in with our wives and girlfriends and daughters on that, duh it's huge. And they get it! Now let's talk about pizza and IPA. The pie; is great, I prefer the thin crust it has great char. Good crust,it is not, Apizzascholes but it's got some love. The IPA is great as well as the others. Service is what we expect. Let's face it people, we really do not admire "service" what we really are looking for is "hospitality " it something completely different than just filling water glasses and orders. It has us as a customer feeling like we had a great overall experience. I felt that tonight. Thank you.
google avatar

Andrea P.

Yelp
I like the thin crust pizza and think the brews are great. This is a great place to meet up with a group - ample seating inside and out. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable. Happy hour is a great deal - 1 off pints and 3.50 well drinks. You can get a $6 pizza that is plenty for two - super cheap date, and yummy!
google avatar

Jessica F.

Yelp
Milano Sub is a regular delivery/takeout option for me. Flavors on point and the bleu cheese vinaigrette they serve on the side is sinful.
google avatar

Kayla F.

Yelp
After a long drive from Seattle my friends and I just wanted to chill and get a good beer. And this was the perfect place. Comfy and warm environment as well as the staff. Their beer has won a bunch of awards and it for sure taste like it. I recommend a flight so you can try all of their best!
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Wow first time here and I can't wait to come back. Can't go wrong with the beer choice and atmosphere. Nothing better than having an ice cold pint in the shade. Let's mention all of the non touch options to pay and view a menu. Beer is amazing to boot! Can't wait to come back and grab a quick pint in my neighborhood. Keep killing it guys!!!!
google avatar

Kristine P.

Yelp
Terrible service. We ordered the veggie pizza w/out green peppers bc they really upset my stomach and a side of marinara. When the pizza arrived it had green peppers on it and no side of marinara. I explained my unhappiness with the pizza but we didn't have time to wait for a new pizza as our dinner party had all received their meals AND we were on our way to a show. I tried to eat around the peppers but sadly they were all over the pizza. My husband said the pizza wasn't good anyway. We did explain to our waiter that we wouldn't be eating the pizza. He apologized and when the bill came HE CHARGED US FOR THE PIZZA. LOL What?! We had to explain AGAIN that we were't eating the pizza therefor we wouldn't be paying for the pizza. It was eventually taken off our bill. We won't be going back here. Which is too bad, we frequent Curious Comedy a lot.
