"A true dive bar in the very best sense of the term, Old Town Patio is a no-frills, super-fun spot with a decent amount of TVs to watch the games and (yes) a patio, too." - kat hong, james montgomery

I came to Old Town Patio for some cold brews and food. Their pizza was good, I ordered it as-is on the menu, and I recommend if you like pepperoncini peppers. Overal, a great spread of food. Awesome back patio area. I had a great time. The beer was cold, the staff was friendly, and the vibes were chill.

Google
Great balance between a bar and restaurant. Good quality food with decent prices. I recommend giving them a visit if you are in the South Bay area.

Sawyer Curtiss

Google
The new BBQ menu is legit, huge portions, bold flavor, and everything’s cooked to perfection. The outdoor setup’s a vibe too. Plenty of seating, tons of TVs, and a laid-back atmosphere that’s perfect for game day or just hanging out.

Google
Being remolded now. It used to be a great little dive beer joint with fair prices. Prices just went up as high as anywhere due to new ownership. Still a funky dive, and outdoor patio. Beer & wine only. Local older crowd. A Big Dog 32 oz. of "domestic" (Redneck beer) is now $11.50 w/tax. Has some new drafts like Guiness and El Segundo Brewing, Mayberry IPA, but priced higher. Bar food is, well... bar food.

Google
Great patio, friendly staff and amazing food. The whole family loved it.

Google
This place is great. Amazing atmosphere, great food and super friendly staff. Shannon is the best!

Google
What’s there not to like about this gem? Excellent burgers, cold beer and great service from Courtney(I believe). Several large TV’s for your sports pleasure too. Outside patio is roomy and very chill. I’ll definitely be back.

Google
Great time sitting on the patio with giant beers!

Yelp
Loved finding this spot! The food was so yummy and the service was quick. Our server, I think her name was Shannon (don't quote me on that), was friendly and accommodated our quirky requests. The patio is definitely the place to be. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Ben was so great. I came here to celebrate my cousin, a director who had a film come out today. Everything was great. The ambiance, the food, the service was excellent. Kadin was cool too. They were super nice to me as well as my well trained service dog. We will be back.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Very excited to come to this new bar that just got remodeled in el segundo, the bartender that we had was stupendous service with cold beers all night, and I was very pleased with the service. I'll definitely be back with my friends. Thanks to the bartender Zukkini

Yelp
New owners, NEW higher prices. Too bad. Lost it's funkiness. Just reopened 3/18/25.

Yelp
Great family business. Great Patio for venue and parties. Good food, drinks and nice people.

Emily V.

Yelp
I really love this place and am excited for the new direction and remodel, but I think the new owners would be remiss to not incorporate some of the old decor into the new environment. Where is the El Segundo eye chart? Why aren't there any beer signs on the wall? It feels too sterile and unwelcoming unfortunately. I was disappointed to find that some of the charm from the original decor wasn't included with the remodel. I hope management will reconsider some of their decor decisions and find a happy medium between the western vibe and the original Patio charm!

Ed P.

Yelp
If you like and appreciate dive bars with character this is the place for you. Cold beer on tap and the cost for the "Big Dog" mug is the best deal in town. Small kitchen that puts out excellent bar food, good friendly service (Helen is the best), and a large comfortable outdoor patio. What's not to like!
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
It's an older bar without the woke presence. They have ample free parking and an outdoor area. Nothing fancy. Food ok but again nothing fancy. Definitely a locals bar. I dropped in last week and it's been a few years since there. Nothing changed. Service is good, beer is cold, not a lot of noise going on. Good place to relax and if the sun is shining the patio is nice enough.
google avatar

Piper L.

Yelp
A cute little dive. Inside bar is super small but they have a really great patio out back. Staff is nice!
google avatar

Keith B.

Yelp
Awesome place a grab a ice cold beer! Outstanding place to bring a group the patio is perfect size. Had a retirement party there we probably had 30 people with no problem. The staff is a 10 out of 10!!!! That's to the crew!
google avatar

Brandye C.

Yelp
Rustic place. Has outdoor seating. They allowed is to sit to smoke our cigars in the far back away from others. Didnt order any food. Just beer. Bathrooms are outside tucked away in a little nook with very funny and interesting decor to say the least.

Yelp
I use to love to go here with my buddy and have a big dog beer for $6.25. But the last few times have been terrible by how the staff and customers have been treating us. We're just trying to sit down enjoy our beers and not get hassled but sure enough we get hassled. First Lady was super drunk serving us and giving us an Attitude and then the next lady serving us got so angry and demanded a tip and confronted us. By the way this is a cash only bar and we only had cash for the beer. She got so angry that she told the whole bar and her friends that they came up to us and started getting angry and wanting to fight. So unprofessional..... we will not be coming back here.
google avatar

Dolores L.

Yelp
The food is good. The beer is good. Cheap prices. Good spot to come and just chill. Come on Wednesday and Saturday nights for a good looking bartender.
google avatar

Denis M.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Cold beer at good prices. Spacious patio that is rarely crowded. Unlike a reviewer below, I tend to bring enough money to not only pay my tab but also tip the workers.
google avatar

Franco M.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday with some friends from work for lunch and had a good time. Had a patty melt and a giant Newcastle brown ale. The beer is served in a huge icy, mug. The patty melt was good enough. We sat down outside in a nice, outdoor patio area. It was nice and breezy and the service was good. Would definitely come back for another beer. Might try another dish next time though. Pros: + Huge beers + Patio area + Good service Cons: - Patty melt could have used some fries on the side - Cash only

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would. The patio is not worth spending your money here. If you want to be harassed and discriminated against based on how you look, this is the place. The bartender Helen who served us was extremely rude and unprofessional. Aggressively demanding a tip after providing subpar service is embarrassing. To make things worse, when we sat down, an extremely rude woman proceeded to invite herself to sit with us along with her friend and son. The three of them, especially the woman went out to verbally attack us with vulgar language to the point that we felt uncomfortable and offended and left before we could finish our drinks. This place needs to be shut down. Treating people with disrespect and harassing your customers is completely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor, don't bother coming here. You'll just end up leaving mad that you paid money to be harassed by the servers and their people!

Gina T.

Yelp
This place has the best food, nicest staff and HUGE patio. It's the ultimate home town bar vibe. Even the regulars are very nice. The most important part is it has the cheapest beer in town!!!!!! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Chaz G.

Yelp
This place is great. Very uncommon in LA. Cash only beer bar with great food and cheap prices. Really really big patio w friendly locals.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Cheapest beer in the south bay, huge sunny back patio, and great breakfast burritos on the weekends. Staff is easy going & bar is full of retirees and locals.

John R.

Yelp
Nathan J. and Mike M. don't know what they're talking about (they don't tip waitresses). The old town patio is 100% a 5 star bar and I recommend it to everyone. Everyone there is super nice and the food and beer is really really good.
google avatar

Yelp
Serene casual daytime atmosphere, patio area is spacious, private and sunny. I was looking forward to a great burger and beer and was surprised by: no fries available, cash only, high price for theee mushiest burger ever to confront my prestidigitation skills. Wow, they can manage a decent sturdy soft roll at McD's, INandOUT, actually anywhere, but here. Recommend for a secret hideout in the rear patio, ONE IPA on tap, sedate atmosphere for peace and quiet, accommodating servers, easy parking, and their famous Pepper Plant sauce, YUM!

Yelp
Had a night on the quiet town of El Segundo and went here on the recommendation of a friend who ends up here often. We made our way to the back patio and found some tables for our group and got down to business. The night was a bit of a blur, but I had a turkey reuben with no mayo, a cheese quesadilla, and 2 very big beers. The turkey reuben would have been much better if I asked for it with mustard, but it was still really good. Plenty of sauerkraut and turkey and nicely toasted bread. The quesadilla was standard but with the little extra of being served with a nice cup of standard, canned, salsa and a cup of guacamole that was half mashed up avocado and half chunks of avocado. Definitely not canned, definitely homemade with lots of avocado. That was a very nice touch indeed! I used a lot on my sammich. The beer I got was shocktop, a good hefe all around. But it was CHEAP! 11 bucks for 2 huge mugs, that's really good. Overall I was super pleased with the place. It had good bar food. No fryer, which was crazy, but just get a quesadilla on the side and you're not breaking the bank at all. Very nicely priced, great service although they could have come around a little bit more often. I'm a big fan. I love dive slash local places like this, and it might be one of my new favorite El Segundo hangouts.
google avatar

Jeremiah A.

Yelp
No frills, just big tap beers. The patio outback is very large and sunny, nice to kick back and relax. There's an electronic dart board and the Dodger games are always on here. Very chill.
google avatar

Edgar B.

Yelp
This is the best bar in town, inexpensive, no parking hassles and some of the friendliest people on earth. Sit outside and enjoy the sunshine, have a big cold one and enjoy life! I recommend the Turkey Club or the Turkey Santa Fe but really most things are excellent. The burgers are also REALLY good! They do not have a fryer so no Chips or Onion Rings. They do have pretty good Wings though. (Order them Well Done!)
google avatar

Phoebe B.

Yelp
I'm from out of town but my friend recommended this place for a beer outside. Fantastic! We split two chicken sandwiches and they were the best ones I've ever had. We even ordered one to go. The beers are gigantic, the outdoor seating is perfect, and the service was exceptional. It was Christmas Eve and the bartender had made some cookies for anyone in the restaurant. They don't serve fries at all, but it doesn't even matter. Every time I come to visit I'll definitely make it a point to stop here.
google avatar

Alex W.

Yelp
Very local dive bar. Cash only is a drawback and a reason I don't make it in here too often despite the fact that there are only a handful of bars in El Segundo. The bartender that works when I come in is really nice though and they have a spacious back patio as the name implies, so it can be a decent place to hang out if you have a magazine or some friends to chat with. I guess I don't generally prefer dive bars though, so my 2 star rating draws largely on the ambiance and cash only factors. If these, and the almost exclusively male audience are things you don't mind, then you might not mind Old Town Patio.

Yelp
Enjoyable neighborhood bar. They have two different sized burgers on the menu, 1/3 lb and 1/2 lb. If their 1/2 lb burger is 1/2 of a pound, then McDonald's 1/4 pounder is 1/16th of a pound. Very nice sized burger, cooked fresh and served hot. They know how to cook a burger as the juices slowly drip out as you pick it up to eat it. Keep it over the basket if you don't want some on your shirt. Nice to see a place that doesn't squeeze the juice out of a burger when they are cooking it. Lunch crowd is fairly quiet inside but if they get too noisy for you, the patio out back is a welcome retreat. During my lunch, it was quiet with only the sound of Sports Center in the background and a couple of private conversations going on at the bar. As noted in other reviews, they do not have french fries however if you get the 1/2 lb burger, you probably don't need them. They do have chips if you want something salty. For a divey neighborhood bar, it's kept pretty clean. The carpet is old but the bar surface was very clean when I was there. For those skiddish to go into a new place, I don't think you'll be nervous once you've inside. Definitely blue collar lunch crowd but when I was there, it was quiet and everyone kept to themselves. However, there was only one woman on the outside of the bar and a female bartender. Worth a try if you like a good burger, hope you're experience is as good as mine. Enjoy!

Jim J.

Yelp
Older bar that does not serve french fries. All food is cooked on the barbecue. The evening chef is amazing considering what he has to deal with. "Karna the Bartender" is awesome. She is super attentive. Very helpful. And always remembers your name. However, the owner is a nightmare. Every time I am here, she is wasted and drunk. Very inappropriate. Says things that an owner should never say. The best thing would be to replace the owner. My God. Horrible.

Yelp
Neighborhood dive bar with cheap beers, great burgers, and friendly service. I got HUGE beer the size of my head for $6! The inside of the bar is pretty dated and divey, but I love the outside patio - very spacious and chill. Would definitely recommend for a chill daytime burger and beer hangout.

Yelp
3 rd time around and enjoyed it !! Must come out and check them out , thank you for the service n great
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
Fun environment. The food was better than I thought it would be but the service was pretty slow. There was one bartender/server for the entire bar and patio. She was super nice though.

Yelp
On a Sunday, came to the large patio that you can reserve for private parties. El Segundo is weird. It's 1950s middle America Mayberry surrounded by LAX, Chevron, and a Sewage Plant. There were anti Obama stickers in here. Really? Cheap good beers. But I don't know how the food was because they decided to stop serving food at 4p. They said that's when the kitchen closed. But they never told the party renters this fact. We heard later that they wanted to close the kitchen because there were too many people ordering food. So which was it?
google avatar

Joanna B.

Yelp
They only serve beer. They close at 10PM. It's cash only. And it's great. Huge patio outside, small town atmosphere inside. Friendly people, rarely crowded. They serve food but I've never tried it. 32 oz beer for $5.
google avatar

Yelp
This isn't a place to come if you're in a rush to get in and out; it can be quite popular and crowded at noon, especially when the weather is nice (which it often is). Rather, it's a place to sit back, relax, have a drink and a bag of chips while you're waiting for your food to come out, and enjoy the Southern California sunshine. After a long absence, salmon burgers are back on the menu, which are both healthy AND tasty. Another new item, their Greek chicken sandwich, is a favorite of my wife's. And any sandwich or burger can be put onto a salad if you don't want it on a bun or bread. They sure could use a deep fryer (although I understand all of the problems that restaurants have with disposing of used cooking oil). Coffee for us non-alcohol drinkers, especially on those cold days out on the patio during the winter, would be nice, too.
google avatar

Gary W.

Yelp
Oh no! They don't take cards! WTH?! Sorry, any business that won't accept credit/debit cards loses MAJOR points with me. It's 2015 FFS. Get with the programme. I don't expect my customers to pay with cash...and I certainly don't expect to NEED cash at a brick-n-mortar place. Gotta say...overall...it's a great place. Four stars. The staff if great. The prices are not terrible... BUT the fact that they do not accept credit cards is acceptable.
google avatar

Ross P.

Yelp
It's funny reading reviews of people who complain about the location or about the food being "bar" food. They shouldn't have entered the door. Duh - it's a BAR with food. This is a patio in the back of a dive-y looking bar that ONLY takes CASH. Not to worry, they have an ATM in the Bar. The bar is full of locals from ES and Chevron and is strictly a blue-collar crowd. Don't go there thinking that you will have a "dining experience". Here is the reason to go: burgers and beer and very cheap! Burger for $5 and a whole schooner of beer for $5! The patio is surprisingly large (walk through the back of the bar). Reminds me of some of the places that I used to love in Baja. The waitresses are awesome! They don't take crap though, so respect them and you will get great service. So kick back, have a brew - and lose the attitude. You will like it here.

Yelp
This place is definitely worth checking out . Our bartender Karna was outstanding . She was sweet ,attentive , and very welcoming . With her being the only bartender, she was busy but always checked in to see that we had everything we needed . Going above and beyond which made everything that much better .The food was awesome the burgers are pretty damn good! My husband had the Ortega burger with the pepper plant hot sauce . He said it was the ""sh!+" pardon the language . I had the sliders and they were Delish. They were served on Hawaiian rolls and boy were they yummy! The beer is ice cold served in huge glass mugs . They have a big outdoor patio, nice setup with table ,umbrellas and water fountains . The Bar area had a few tv's with sports on . The ambience was nice everyone seemed friendly . If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend !
google avatar

Yelp
Hilarious! This is a true dive with a "locals only" vibe however the locals are friendly, funny, great story tellers and looking to have a good time. No divey hipster crap here. The bartender was very attentive and friendly and the drinks were cheap! Blue Moon, Lagunitas IPA and a PBR set me back $13. They had bar dice and having spent some time in Milwaukee, it was refreshing to see people get drunk, laugh, belt out tunes from the juke box and play a simple, yet addicting game. Its a great stop if you doing the Tour de El Segundo pub crawl PS I would not bring anyone who is uptight here **CASH ONLY

Yelp
We moved here 6 weeks ago, thought I found my new bar until we saw the owner. Shauna was beyond drunk and yelling at customers. We watched her kick someone out for asking something about their receipt and we haven't been back since. The place seems OK for a small town dive bar, nothing special, but Shauna was wasted every time I've seen her there. There are so many bars around here, we decided we don't want to support this one since the owner doesn't act like she cares or wants customers. I have never seen a server or bartender act the way she did with so many customers. They'd be fired on the spot!

Mike W.

Yelp
I've been working in El Segundo for the better part of a decade and I've never eaten here... until today. I ordered the 1/4 pastrami burger and a full wings and I was very pleasantly surprised. The pastrami burger is dayam good, it comes medium rare (well mine was) and wrapped up in foil. The burger reminds me a lot of a Five Guys burger but perhaps every tastier because of the added touch of pastrami. The wings were ok, they weren't spicy so I refuse to call them hot wings but they're juicy and plump and still good in that disappointing non-spicy way. I'd say if you're in the mood for a burger this is a great place to stop by.
google avatar

Sandy S.

Yelp
Ugh, I don't understand the allure of this place. Maybe it's the beer, surely not the overpriced food and service. I ordered the chili burger...it was mediocre at best. Save your money.
google avatar

Yelp
I live in West LA, but I found myself wandering around El Segundo looking for a snack after getting a beer at El Segundo Brewing. This place looks delightfully divey from the outside, so my husband and I stopped in for beer and food. I'm gonna be honest, the menu looked pretty bad. I don't eat bread, and the only options on the menu were burgers and sandwiches. We had already ordered beers, so I asked if they had fries (off menu?). Nope. Bartender says the kitchen makes everything fresh, and has nothing to fry in, just a grill. Then I noticed the wings on the menu. They're not fried, so they can't be breaded. I took a chance and ordered them. Oh. My. God. These wings. Honestly, I swear to god, these are some of the best wings I have ever had in my life. I was shocked. I couldn't stop eating them. Perfectly crispy (grilled!!) skin, amazing spice rub, and they had like twice the meat on them as any other restaurant's wings! Go JUST FOR THE WINGS. The beer's also super cheap, they have pinball, and right now women's shirts are only $5 with beer purchase! We were inside, but the outside patio looked like a great place to spend a sunny day or evening.
google avatar

Selina G.

Yelp
I absolutely LOVE The Patio! El Segundo has some really great bars tucked away and this is one of them. No fruity cocktails with umbrellas, no happy hour, no techno crap music, just HUGE glasses of ice cold beer for $5 and a great patio you can lounge and smoke. Now that's my idea of a bar!
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
This place is in a great little area of El Segundo. The area looks like it dates back to 90 yrs ago . Who knew El Segundo had this kind of charm in the shadow of the Chevron Refinery? Well, it was the oil company that built the town, then Standard Oil. This refinery was Standard Oil's second facility, hence the name, El Segundo (The Second). Enough of the trivia lesson. -Beer bar with a divey feel...not a bad thing. -Definitely get a lot of people wondering who you are when you walk in if you're not a local. -They are friendly natives! -Food is surprisingly good! -Spacious patio in the back for enjoying a nice day. I'd come back. There was an enthusiastic crowd watching the Master's Tournament and ignoring the Baseball game. I'm not a gold fan but at least the crowd had interest in more than looking tough in the douchebag Affliction shirts.
google avatar

Luke B.

Yelp
This is a great little bar that attracts a pretty diverse crowd. They sometimes have food trucks out front which is awesome. Also a good variety of beers on tap. Games out back too.
google avatar

Philip L.

Yelp
I've gone to Old Town Patio a few times when the neighboring Richmond's was closed, and a couple times with workmates for team meetings. This is a good, no-nonsense bar with some decent food, and great drink prices. Having a patio is always a nice addition, as it makes for a great area for friends to sit around, have some drinks and some smokes. I had the salmon burger the last few times I was there--not on the menu at the time, but still available. It hit the spot. I've never seen this place crowded, and there is always plenty of room to join a few tables together and fit in a larger crowd. If ever just looking for a place to lounge around and kick back some drinks, this place will not disappoint. Cash only.

Yelp
It's okay....Big 32 ounce Beers....laid back atmosphere of locals.

Yelp
My friends band was playing there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjiNkzFEpiQ I have never been there before since El Segundo isn't really known was any happening place. A nice neighborhood bar. LARGE patio area. Beer price was way way way CHEAP! CASH ONLY

Yelp
Giant cold beers! Need I say more????? Super great prices on beers and food. Hole in the wall local joint with a friendly vibe and generous staff. A place where your name will be remembered, and maybe even your drink of choice, upon your next visit! Delicious tacos for $1.25 on mondays and after 7 free hotdogs. Can't beat it! Thanks Michael for your great service. Cheers!
