Old Vinings Inn

First visit to this restaurant. We were there for a Christmas office gathering. The food was brought in stages at just the right pace and was very good. The service was fantastic and the staff seemed genuinely happy to be doing their job! One staff member that stood out was Lori who apparently overheard me say that some syrup would be great on the fresh biscuits they had just brought from the kitchen. I had no expectations but Lori came around the corner with a bowl of warm syrup! Definitely great service!

The resturant outside looks like a beautiful vintage southern style house. Upon entering I was seated as soon as I entered, was greeted by andrew, he gave me choices, to sit inside or out, I chose outside, very nice seating outside, I notice when entering, they where promoting live entertainment for the dinner this day. The table I was placed at is covered with a biege table cloth that is clean linen, wine glass, appeitizer plate, and untensils wrapped in a table napkins that's linen. Before my food had arrived, I asked to take a look around and love the seating arrangements. It has a fire place on the left upon entering, there is total of 4-6 areas of seating through out some of the rooms offer open or a private experience, they have 4 themed washrooms which has vintage paintings and current astetics, after doing my litte tour the manger (Lee) brought my food, and ask me if I needed anything else to let him know, secs after Andrew came and ask was everthing ok. I love the chairs they are made up of bamboo, very sturdy The outside flooring is (wood) colored green, the vibe feels vintage italian to me, its not but it gives me that with a touch of southeren .the lighting decore is very beautiful as well. The fixtures look like a latern type. I ordered the granola crusted bannana french bread toast, with brown sugar rum glazed with whipped cream, the presentation for it was very nice 3 slices of french toast bannana bread, whipped cream sits on the side of it with a tin cup filled with the rum glaze, its very soft and moist, the granola bits was better than I expected, I assume it would be crunchy but it was soft and blended so well with the french toast, I also order the veggie burger which is the chipotle black bean patty, fried green tomato, smoked tomato aioli, with house fries. The burger was well done, toasted bun, didnt even know it was a fried green tomoato once bitten, it was fried very crispy,and I don't even eat tomatoes like that, the fried tomato its a delight in the mouth, the aioli sauce was good dipped my house fries inside the sauce which was amazing, the fries was seasoned with just a right amount of sea salt, the sandwhich did come with condiments as well, lettuce, pickles, onions and ketchup, I love the fact it came on the side and not directly on the sandwhich. The only thing is my veggie burger was cold on the outside but hot on the inside, I dont know if it was because I sat outside to eat. After eating I ask for the tab and togo containers, my tab was brought on a fancy vintage tray with a linen napkin, along with my containers , a nice experience, I will return for a futur experience.

Had a great night listening to Tom Ham play tunes on the piano. Food and drinks were great and the Tom and that piano were belting some great tunes. Great night, will surely be back next month to see him playing again.

Silas knows how to handle a large party and did a great job expecting what we needed. The food? Pretty good. Atmosphere, perfect for a large party. OVI has been around for a while, and if it's been some time since you've been there, go.

I had the pleasure of hosting an event (30 people) in the Attic Bar at Old Vinings Inn, and it was a truly wonderful experience. To start, the owner Lee was very easy to communicate with and highly responsive during planning. I really appreciated how he answered all of my questions and accommodated all of our needs. Next, on the day of the event, we were taken care of by Rick and Oscar, who were both excellent. Their attentive service was above and beyond, and they were just great people who we were happy to have at our party! Finally, the food and drink were out of this world - 10/10. Our favorite appetizers were the fried chicken with mashed potatoes, crab cakes, and corn fritters, but everything was wonderful. All of the cocktails we had were so good too! All in all, this is a great place to host a private event that I would highly recommend to anyone! I look forward to coming back just to enjoy it as a restaurant or to listen to live music soon :)

Great dining experience. KT was a lovely and attentive server. Crab cakes good, salad great, filet mignon was a little tough but the presentation and veggies mash up for it.

On a Wednesday, we came here for dinner for the first time. The service was excellent and it wasn't too crowded so our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the beet salad, good but pretty small portion. The dinner bread they serve are basically rolls you can buy in any freezer section in a grocery store. BUT, I have to say that both entrees we ordered were the most delicious and satisfying dish that we've had in a long time! My husband had the fried chicken that came with creamy grits and tender veggies. And I had the pleasure of having the most buttery and crispy pecan-crusted trout ever with the best mashed potatoes. As you can see our plates were wiped clean, and we were so full we didn't even feel like desert. I will be back again! Gave 5 stars but hope they decide to change the bread service to house-made.

Closed for a private event, but couldn’t be bothered to update their hours. The menu looks nice, but I can’t comment on the food because I couldn’t eat. Not a good first impression. There won’t be a second impression because I won’t be coming back. Edit: The owner claims they updated their hours. This may be true for other websites, but they did not update their Google hours. Which is why I'm leaving the review on Google. In fact, Google still claims they are open, even after their response. The fact that I have to explain that this is a problem is a little baffling to me.

Last Saturday night, I brought my business partner and his girlfriend for a dinner meeting to Old Vinings Inn. It's one of my favorite places. This was his first time to Old Vinings and he heard a lot about it because his girlfriend has been here many times since her parents live less than a mile away. We sat upstairs and enjoyed the music by Rich Gunderlock...in fact we found him on youtube. It was sent too loud and he also played the saxophone in addition to the guitar. Great service by Rick and team, despite our charcuterie board being accidentally given to the table next to us. The food was excellent as always. I had the seared salmon with the scallion grits cakes (yum) and a roasted red pepper sauce. My biz partner had the beet salad with salmon and the girlfriend pretty much finished the entire charcuterie board. Oh we started with the fried green tomato's. We fought over who should get the last piece! I would have ordered the candied bacon but really wish they were presented in the wine glass like they used to, rather than just tossed on a plate. Everything else is presented well as a prelude to the first bite! We didn't have room to order dessert, but next time. It would have been great if there's carpaccio and espressos were available! One tip...if you are coming for dinner, there's extra parking at the bank across the street. We'll come back with a few more people so we can enjoy my favorite private room, the Bear room.

Can't believe it's taken me almost 25 years to visit the Old Vinings Inn. I attended a large group (18-person) dinner here and enjoyed it. The food, drink, and service were good to great. This is a classic Southern restaurant that's been around since 1990. In metro Atlanta, where restaurants constantly come and go, Old Vinings Inn has been a fixture. I'd always known this to be that old white house with live music and from this visit, I learned that the food, drink, and service here are solid too. There's live music (and sometimes, comedy) every Thursday-Saturday night in the attic bar. Tickets are $5 per person. I'd call them at 770-438-2282 for bar reservations and more info. The restaurant has a free dedicated parking lot, but space is limited to about 20 spaces or so. The setback (clearance) between the building/entrance and Paces Mill Road is tight. The building has been around since the 1880s. It's been an apartment house, gas station, general store, and post office. Many parts of the structure, inside and out, still look old, but it's got a rustic charm to it. The dining rooms are understated and refined. There are nice traditional elements like the fireplace in the lobby. The low-ceiling attic bar has a more casual atmosphere. In general, I thought this was a great spot for our group and it looked like it would work equally as well for a romantic date night (intimate, artificially-candlelit, white tablecloth). When I entered the restaurant, none other than owner Lee Schulman opened the door and welcomed me in. What better way to enter the Old Vinings Inn than that? I recognized Lee from his 2017 appearance on the local TV show Atlanta Eats as well as from the restaurant's website where I browsed the menu beforehand. Lee told me he bought this place about 10 years ago. I asked him if it had actually ever been an inn and he said no. I guess it's just in the name. One of my buddies had been here before Lee took over and he told me that he thought the place was outdated. I believe several renovations have been made since Lee became the owner. I know the private room we dined in had been renovated at some point relatively recently. Also, I've known two couples who dined on the patio here during and since the pandemic. Both couples told me they enjoyed everything, from the food to the atmosphere. One of my coworkers organized this dinner. It was done family style, which I liked. The ambiance was cozy and homey. The menu was mostly preset. The only decisions we had to make were individual drink and entree orders. The entire drink menu, with cocktails and wines by the glass and bottle, was available to us. The food menu was custom-made and had a special message at the top congratulating our other coworker on his retirement (this was his retirement dinner). I thought that was a nice touch by the restaurant. Here's what we had: Appetizers (served family style) * Dip Duo - pimento cheese and spinach-artichoke-sun dried tomato dips, sea salt-herbed olive oil flatbreads * Southern Fry Baskets - calamari, shrimp, hush puppies, pickled veggies, remoulade, jezebel sauce Salad * Artisan Greens - seasonal vegetables, champagne vinaigrette, crispy chickpeas Entrees (we each got to pick one) * Seared Atlantic Salmon - lemon-basil compound butter * Coleman All-Natural Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast - thyme gravy * Grilled Bistro Steak - rosemary-black garlic demi glace * Vegetable Pasta - herbed fresh local spaghetti, seasonal vegetables, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, Parmesan Accoutrements (sides, served family style) * Whipped Potatoes * Crispy Brussels Sprouts * Mac & Cheese * Pot Likker Collards with Smoky Bacon Desserts (served family style) * Warm Fruit Cobbler - crunchy granola topping, vanilla ice cream * Flourless Chocolate Torte - blood orange coulis, hazelnuts, candied ginger Overall, I've got to say I was pleasantly surprised by the food. Everything was delicious. For all these years, I had no idea this quality of Southern food was right here in Vinings. Admittedly, places like the now-shuttered Paces & Vine in nearby Vinings Jubilee overshadowed Old Vinings Inn for me. Thinking more widely around Atlanta, South City Kitchen comes to mind. However, where I think Old Vinings Inn shines is in the type of Southern food they serve. It's simple and traditional. They stick to tried-and-true classics and I thought they executed every one of our dishes well. My drink, a Jamaican Old Fashioned, made with Jamaican rum, pineapple amaro, demerara, allspice bitters, and Luxardo cherry, was quite tasty. I recommend it. Service was terrific.

Probably one of the more memorable New Year's Eve celebrations in the recent history. When you walk into old Vinings inn you feel like you're stepping into a historical landmark. The restaurant is home to a 150-year-old cottage style, southern house. It boasts a few large dining rooms, sunrooms, and an upstairs attic fit for live music and comedy night. For a small price you can attend Thursday-Saturday for live performances beginning at 8pm. Reservations preferred. There are heated fireplaces throughout along with heaters for the sunroom. The halls were decked for the holidays and we probably saw around three or four Christmas trees throughout the property. It was festive to say the least. The service is worth writing home about. We were treated with such warmth and generosity from Oscar and the management team and would definitely come back sooner rather than later, budget permitting. The food is simply splendid. You really can't go wrong with anything you order here and I guarantee you that they have the best underground shrimp and grits in the city. You won't want to miss the fried chicken either. And these are found year round on the menu. We had the chance to sample the prefix dinner for the New Year's Eve celebration, and everything was exceptional from the homemade sea salt butter rolls with sweet cream to the lobster bisque to the homemade cherry cobbler. For $75 a person, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better deal in Vinings and the surrounding area for less or better. We actually had reservations for the Chastain but were informed that they were doing a prefixe for $150 a person and opted out. I'm glad that we did because this was the perfect place to celebrate the upcoming new year. Please make sure to visit old Vinings inn for brunch or dinner sometime when you're in the area. There is self parking at the restaurant. It used to be valet, but then Covid hit and that changed and it hasn't changed back. I'm not complaining though. Also there are a few more EV chargers but they haven't been tried or tested so I'm not sure if they're functioning or not. happy new year wishing everybody the best in 2024 !

I have been staying in Vinnings for work and stumbled across this local favorite. It advertised a good southern brunch with an upscale flair so I wanted to give it a try. Let me start by saying the restaurant was beautiful.... It looked like it belonged in Nantucket by the coastline. The service was incredible. The wait staff was courteous and kind. I brought a book to read and a server asked if I would like to be moved to a quieter table so I could read peacefully. ( very impressed) The food was good....almost great. I ordered the fried chicken with the grits and collard greens. The grits and collards were incredible and the chicken was good but could have been juicier. ( but this could of been because I ordered it gluten free) I would absolutely come back for dinner sometime.

My gals and I first time at the Old Vinings Inn for Sunday brunch and it was fantastic. The restaurant is so cute and quant - something out of a Netflix love story. Our service was exceptional - Silas took care of us and he was just a sweet peach. You MUST get the bread basket as a starter. I had the crab cake benedict and it was amazing. My only wish was the the egg was runnier. The shrimp and grits is also a must. I will be coming back to try dinner and enjoy live music upstairs!

Awesome food and friendly service. Ask for Silas for a friendly smile and impeccable attention to detail. He made our dinner so memorable. The atmosphere is top notch! And don't forget to go upstairs to the bar. Rick is quick with a joke and makes a mean cocktail.

My mother and I went for Thanksgiving. The service and food were excellent. The three-course menu was a nice way to enjoy food without all of the cooking and cleanup!! The turkey was tender, the cornbread stuffing and mashed potatoes were well made! We will be back.

Absolutely divine! My husband and I just dined here for date night and was pleasantly surprised with my #1 priority for all restaurants and quality customer service. The ambiance in the early to late evening is the perfect atmosphere for the beginning of a relaxed and romantic evening. Not only do EVERYONE treat you like a celebrity or royalty, but the food is to die for. I have nothing but the BEST to say about this hidden jewel. I can't wait to dine here again. Oh, and don't forget to try the chipotle bacon brownie. It's worth every penny and bite. Enjoy!

I came here for brunch with a couple people and I had a fairly decent experience. Quick thoughts: - Environment was very cute and classy - Bathrooms were exceptionally clean - Service was a tad slow and it took a very long time for food to come out - The food itself was VERY good. A bit on the pricy side but still delicious and worth every bite The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars was because of how long we had to wait for our food even though it didn't seem like there were a lot of people dining. Still a pretty neat place to stop by!

Greta for a date night ! From the service to the food, a very charming experience. We sat on the patio, and even though the restaurant is located right off the road, it was a very quiet dinner. We had the fried green tomatoes,lamb ribs, and pork chops, all delicious. To drink we tried the Jamaican Old Fashion and Agua Fresca. We also got dessert Togo, which was the brownies and ice cream. Loved every bit. Some what of a given gem for date night. The entire staff was especially hospitable, making it a great night.

Date night with my husband. I was not disappointed. Quaint building where the staff was happy to share its history. I liked that all staff worked together to make sure all tables were well serviced. Everyone trying to ensure our dining experience was perfect. We had the pleasure of having Lori as our server. Her recommendations were on point. When asked about their pork chop she let us know Tanya made one of the best. We were not disappointed. The portions were generous and the flavors unforgettable. I wish we were able to get dessert but we could not squeeze another bite. Upstairs in the attic and they had a comedy show later that night. We look forward to going back to explore more of their menu and their other entertainment they provide. Lori was amazing from start to finish

I visited Old Vinings Inn for the first time since the pandemic hit. I had a night out planned with a bestie, who drove to my hood for a change. We were not disappointed! We were greeted immediately upon arriving. Rick was our server, entertainer and restaurant concierge. Two challenges he was presented with upon our arrival. One, is that I am not drinking alcohol currently and second is that I am gluten-free. Voila! Rick confirmed that the gluten-free fried chicken dinner was delicious. So, I ordered it. I can still taste it! Anyone that knows how hard it is to find gluten-free fried chicken that tastes good, gets how excited I was over my meal. The sides included white cheddar grits, pot likker collards and thyme gravy. Rick even made me a special mocktail that was fabulous! Rick mentioned he will be hosting a comedy night in August in the bar. My friend and I have already scheduled it. He is so funny! Happy, happy night and I will be going back soon! Hope you enjoy the pics I shot. They don't do that chicken justice however. OMG. It was so good!

This used to be, before Covid, the best place in Vinings to go and get consistently great service and great food. However after today's experience this is no longer true . The worst experience in delivering a bridal shower! There was another party ahead of us and although Chris, the person in charge, apologized for the lateness. Unless the kitchen had problems, They were unable to get the previous party out of the restaurant. I possibly could accept 10 to 15 minutes, but for a well seasoned restaurant such as this and one that has had many parties before ours, This is unacceptable. I don't believe this is an excuse for being 30+ minutes late! When I talk to the person seating everyone she said Tara the GM had to go in back and talk to someone so she was not available. I did request that Tara come back and talk to me. But for two hours that we were there Tara never came to apologize or speak with us! Unless there was a fire at this restaurant, there really is no excuse for being 30+ min late and the GM Not speaking with us after requested. Chris the server in charge was explained to us that entrée selection was all we needed to do, we had to explain to him that it was supposed to be served buffet style, so no, entrees were NOT to be selected. ( evidently did not review the party requirement) After about 10 minutes they came back and said that the buffet style was not available because of the closeness of the tables. This is something that SHOULD HAVE BEEN evaluated when the event was reserved a month ago, not at the time of the event. The general manager who was not available throughout the whole entire party time. Even after requesting to talk to her she was not available for 2 1/2+ hours. I have known the he family hosting the party for over 30 years and they asked me to get involved, and I gladly accepted, because after all the host should be able to enjoy their guest, NOT spend the entire time managing the party, making decisions they thought were already made so they did not have to make them at the time of the party. When the reservations were being made for this event, Tara had promised a buffet style offering and never mentioned that the location would limit this and they would have to serve it family style or any other way.. Other items, such as the coffee was cold, the drinks were water down, food was warm but not hot, and meatballs this would be nice to have hot meatballs not warmed meatballs. There were so many different errors made,surprise for such a seasoned restaurant that I've been coming to for 20+ years to have failed , A bridal shower Is especially important type of party. If this had been a new restaurant and new employees I might have understand a little bit, even after talking to several people in charge about how disappointing the service and arrangements were no apologies were extended and no one in charge try to make it better! I thought the GM was not available but several people actually saw her in the restaurant after I had requested to speak with her on behalf of the host. I felt responsible for this party being held here, because when the bride asked me for suggested places to have it, this was the first on my list. I will probably will never recommend this restaurant for any type of bridal shower or parties again, this was not a large party, around only 25 of us. They did not delivery .

This review is for drinks at the bar on a Friday. OVI is not on my usual rotation, but when I hang out with my cooler friends (ITP!) we go to various places in the Vinings area. I had such a great time Friday - we had some drinks before heading out to another friend's house for dinner. This place is always fun and Ricky the bartender is hysterical. I have been here at random times over the years, but my experiences have always been positive. Nice people work here and there is usually a singer or comedy show on a weekend night. If I lived closer this would be a regular spot for me. PS they have a Sinatra singer that is really good! Not my thing, but the guy doing it is very entertaining and really into it!

Food & service were spectacular. Best mashed potatoes & bread I've ever had! Will definitely return!

Went to the Old Vinings Inn with my fiancé last night for Christmas dinner. It was the first time for both of us, so we weren't sure what to expect. First thing I noticed was parking was quite limited, and we were not able to find a spot. Thankfully there was a parking lot across the street at the bank, that we were able to park at. Coming inside, you step into a very comforting living room type of waiting area. If you head upstairs you would get to the bar, where on many night I guess there is live music. Seating areas to the left and right with more seating on the patio. The menu for Christmas was a prix fixe menu with a good selection of the menu standards along with some specials like a prime rib. I ordered the Caesar salad with the prime rib, and she had a beet salad with crab cakes. The food was delightful. Very well seasoned and well prepared. Just shy of show stopping which is why I've left it at 4 stars, but very serviceable and enjoyable. The hospitality was quite pleasant although a bit overwhelmed with the holiday seating. I would definitely recommend, and I'd like to go back and check out the music at some point...

We had a lovely date night dinner. It's on the pricey side, yet the food and experience was worth it. The occasion was special and a good place for a special dinner. Service made us few VIP. The dining area was cozy and had such a wonderful atmosphere, quiet and enjoyable.

Do not sleep on this 5 star hidden gem. My boyfriend and I came to the Old Vinings Inn for the first time last week, celebrating a late Valentine's day and Anniversary. We had heard great things about this restaurant but I truly feel you never understand how wonderful a place can be until you try it. The ambience inside was incredible and our server Silas was top notch. We had the braised short rib and steak, wow, words cannot describe how amazing these were. We also had the trio desert as recommended by Silas (we took all of his recommendations that evening) and nothing disappointed. We will be back time and time again. If you're in the Vinings area and need an A+ restaurant to take friends, family, clients, etc. this is your spot.

Old Vinings Inn has been known to me for quite some time, and several friends have encouraged me to stop by or dine there since my new office and home are close by. I finally got to the chance to try their food today. I love the old-timey feel of the place, as if he should be a spot located in a small town just an hour south of the city, but it is right here in the midst of it all. I ordered on-line in the age of COVID-19. Their on-line ordering platform was amazingly easy to use. My food was ready quickly. The pimento cheese on the burger was rich, creamy, and slightly spicy. The burger was juicy and perfectly cooked. There's a thick-cut, fried green tomato on this thing. How much more Georgian or Atlantan or Southern can we get than that? The red onions add a distinctive twist as well to the already explosive nature of the flavor in this little taste of heaven on earth. The Brussels sprouts were the absolutely savory, crunchy, and had a distinct charred flavor that I just couldn't stop enjoying them. The side of grits was amazing--rich, slightly cheesy, and thick and creamy. Needless to say, everything I ate was profoundly delicious and screaming flavor, but what else should I have expected from a storied Atlanta culinary location with so much charm and history? They know how to do it, and they do it well. I hope to be able to return to dine in soon after the restrictions on dining are lifted. I cannot wait to sample the entire dining experience there. Bravo!

Visited during CobbFoodie Week for the $25, 3-course lunch. I started with the Fried Green Tomatoes "BLT" with smoked tomato aioli. It was crispy, savory, and light, the perfect start to my meal. Next was the main dish, shrimp and grits! The shrimp was well seasoned with a lil bit of spice. The grits were creamy and it all went together really well. It was just the right portion for lunch. The hubs got the pecan crusted trout with whipped potatoes, garlic-herb zucchini & squash, lemon butter. He was just as pleased with his choice as I was. You know you chose well when neither of you ask for a bite of the others meal. We definitely saved room for dessert. We finished the meal with a perfectly portioned Berry Apple Cobbler topped with ice cream. The sweetness of the ice cream paired perfectly with the tartness of the apples and berries. It was so good. I really really wanted to finish it but I was just so full Overall a great first experience with @oldvinings . Everyone on staff was friendly and attentive. We were told the fried chicken is one of there signature meals. We will definitely be back again.

I decided to try this neighborhood spot for brunch today after putting it off since last year. I'd booked this restaurant for my daughter's h.s. graduation celebration but had to cancel due to covid. My daughter and I enjoyed a great brunch today and I hate that I waited so long to try it. We had the brunch bread basket filled with muffins, biscuits, etc. to start. I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict (came with a slice of fried green tomato) and my daughter had the brunch burger that comes with egg and bacon. The crab cake tasted as if it had very little filler. The food was great and the waiter Dwany was the best I think I've ever had when it comes to menu recommendations. The restaurant has an old southern charm and wasn't as expensive as I'd thought it would be. I do recommend reservations. I'll be visiting again soon. And yeah, the mimosas were perfect!

We love this place & will definitely be back! We arrived early, so we went upstairs for a drink. The bartender Rick was awesome! He's hilarious & makes great drinks. My husband said it was the best dirty martini he ever had! The food was delicious! We started with a charcuterie board. We especially liked the dip & red dragon cheese. I had the pecan trout & my husband had the fried chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly. The sides were yummy! We especially loved the collards! The service & atmosphere were great!

In town for business and met up with a few friends for dinner. One suggested this place. Doing some recon, it looked good, but when we got there, WOW. It is an old cottage with all the old world charm you could expect. You step inside to the foyer, with a fireplace and sofas that just say "sit down and stay a while". We went upstairs, where there was live music playing. Perfect volume, perfect dinner music selection, and perfect lighting. My friend is a wine connoisseur, so she picked a perfect red wine for us. To start, I had an appetizer of candied bacon. (what else do you need?) It was on point and very good. There was so much of it, I shared with everyone. One friend had braised short ribs that fell off the bone and I had the best shrimp and grits I have ever had! Our other friend had the roasted beet salad and it was very good as well. Since we had red wine, we "had" to get something chocolatey for dessert. The flourless chocolate torte fit the bill just fine, along with some espresso. Highly recommended. When you go, go on a night with live music and book a table upstairs. You won't be disappointed.

This is an amazing place. The staff is friendly and electric, the food is out of this world!! The live music upstairs is outstanding and the atmosphere is perfect. Went there on a date and turned out to the funnest, most relaxing, wonderful experience I have had in decades. We LOVED the staff, food, music, and atmosphere. We want to go back for sure. Loved it!!!!! Very romantic and comfortable.

THE BEST. Truly, what an experience. Went with another couple and split the charcuterie and crabcake - both exceptional. I've never had such a hard time deciding between items on a menu before. With a game-time decision, I picked the fried chicken, and had to pinch myself while eating it to make sure I hadn't died and gone to heaven. The service was exceptional, as well. Cannot wait to go back.

Unique environment with decent food. Met someone from work to have a drink and ended up having dinner. We sat upstairs at the bar. It was a little chilly up there - apparently their heating unit wasn't working. The beer menu is pretty tame - not much in the way of craft beers (and nothing on draft). The biggest adventure for them (which I selected) was the Terrapin Hopsecutioner ($5.25). Started out with Jambalaya Fritters ($10). Couldn't taste much other than the breading. Wouldn't recommend those. Went with the Sauteed Faroe Island Salmon ($24) and quality of the fish was very good - and was cooked well. The lemon caper butter on the bed of beans and potatoes was a little heavy. Service from Rick was great. Overall it's between a three and four star experience - and rounding up as a result of the reasonable pricing.

Warning: Long ranting review forthcoming. Never have I had an experience like we had last night at Old Vinings Inn. Made reservations for my 10-year anniversary. Arrived at 7pm to a light crowd. So, reservations were not necessary, but always good to be careful. Initial impressions were that this is a nice and quaint spot! A young man greeted us and sat us. Our server came and we ordered drinks, which were great. All good, so far. I ordered the bone-in pork chop, and my wife ordered the filet MEDIUM. Our food arrived fast. Too fast. I think it may have been 10 min. Typically, that's great, but we would've appreciated more time to enjoy our drinks and converse with each other. The good: The sides were quite nice. The mac and cheese was very good, as were my wife's whipped potatoes. The collards were spicy and smoky - very good. The unfortunate: My pork chop (see picture) was super thin, which was disappointing. I had thought it would be a bit thicker, but oh well. It was also a bit too charred on one side, but not so much that it ruined it for me. The bad: When the server brought our meals, she didn't provide a steak knife. So my wife waited a bit until she came back through and asked how everything was. We asked for a knife, and she provided one. Upon cutting into the steak, it was obvious it was WAY underdone. She ate a few bites around the edges, and decided she just couldn't eat the steak at this temperature. We looked for our server to tell her, but she didn't come back. Rather than us hunt her down, I switched plates with my wife and ate a bit more of the steak. I like a medium rare, but this was too rare even for me. So we left the majority of the steak uneaten. When the server finally came back and asked if we wanted a box, we told her no, and explained that the steak was not cooked as requested, but we didn't get a chance to tell her. She was apologetic and offered a free dessert, which we politely declined. At this point we just wanted to pay and leave. The manager came to our table to ask how everything was, and we repeated the same thing to him. He apologized and again offered a free dessert, which we again politely declined. I made a comment about how I like a medium rare steak, but this was just too under cooked for either of us. He replied that he likes his meat rare - which is fine, but not germane to the situation. We don't care how he likes his food. We're the ones paying for their food. So, the manager then states he'll give us a card for a free appetizer upon our next visit, which we didn't want (we had already decided we wouldn't be coming back). The way the manager acted rubbed us the wrong way - as if it was our fault we didn't like a rare steak. No offer to comp the meal, no offer to reduce the bill. By the time the bill came, I was upset. I didn't like the way we were treated, and thought the service was poor. So I did not leave a tip. I know that may be a divisive thing to do, and people may criticize me for that, but it's my choice. I think this may have been the first time I've ever done such a thing, but the service was bad. We thought it was very bad. So, I paid the bill on my credit card. The server took it, ran it, I signed the bill and we left. One would think this it where it ends. But no. On the way home, I got a phone call. I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail. When I got home, I was literally gob smacked to see that the manager of Old Vinings Inn called me (he must have gotten my number from the Open Table reservation) and left a thinly-veiled harassing voicemail. I have uploaded a screenshot of the iPhone's somewhat garbled transcript of this. In essence, the manager implied that we DID NOT PAY OUR BILL, then also made reference to us not tipping, and to call him back. I was floored. Literally floored. How dare this person call me to imply that we skipped out on the bill? I check my credit card statement (attached) and it already showed the pending charge. So clearly this guy was calling me because he (and the server) were upset that we didn't tip. Again, I understand that many will consider not tipping a jerk move - even under these circumstances - and that's ok. It was my prerogative considering how we were treated during our visit. But to actually call me like that? Completely out of line. Unprofessional. Rude. I don't know how else to describe it. I did call back - twice. No one picked up. I hope the proprietor of Old Vinings Inn sees this and has a conversation with this manager about how to treat people. I have never in my life felt so disrespected and essentially be accused of theft by simply trying to have a nice anniversary dinner with my wife. Needless to say, we'll not be patronizing this place again.

I decided to treat my mom to lunch in one of Vinings Historic places and we weren't disappointed!!! We were treated like royalty and even the owner Lee paid special attention to us. We were very pleased with the ambiance, kindness of the staff, and delicious lunch. I especially loved that we were able to choose from all the menus offered- either lunch, brunch, or dinner. I would definitely choose to sit outside.

We stopped in here during restaurant week to sample their menu. My wife had the pork chop and loved it. Seasoned perfectly and full of southern comfort food flavor. I had the filet with potatoes and brusselsprouts. The filet was melt in your mouth good, cooked a perfect medium rare. Our server was friendly and helped us pick out the perfect entrees to try since it was our first time here. We'll be sure to come back soon.

We found this place by accident. My friends and I were celebrating my engagement and it turned into an all day celebration where we went from one restaurant to another. We stumbled upon this place just walking by and it had no customers, but we didn't really care because it looked very nice and clean. The bartender made me a special cocktail per my request and all of the drinks and food were just pristine! I think the waiter's (or owner's ?) name was David and he was fantastic. I highly recommend going to this place if it's still in business. I'd hate to see it's not.

This is the first time my husband and I have eaten at Old Vinings Inn, and we had lunch there a few days ago. The place is quaint and lovely in a historic setting. The service was also top notch - Our server Stacey D was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. We went for lunch and had the Spicy Chicken sandwich and the Farmhouse burger. Excellent. We indulged in the seasonal ginger bread pudding. So good. I've heard the crab cakes are legendary so we'll be back to try those.

My cousin made reservations for us for their Thanksgiving dinner. She has eaten here many times over the years and has always enjoyed it. The venue is certainly charming and unique. The valet parking was super fast and easy, and we were in the door at 4:50 for our 5pm reservation. It was packed for the holiday, as we had expected, and quite a few people were already in the entry area waiting for their tables. It wasn't a surprise that we had to wait past our reservation time for a table. We were seated around 5:15. Our server was 5-star all the way. She was graciousness personified, and she made us feel so comfortable and welcome. She explained the buffet set up and brought our first drinks quickly. So why two stars? As we were finishing our drinks, around 5:30, our server came over and told us the manager had asked her to let us know that the buffet was closing in 10-15 minutes and we should get our food. Ok, so the clock was ticking. It didn't seem like they were bringing anything else out, so I picked over what was left and got some turkey and vegetables and cheese. There was no bread, and the desserts were almost all gone. I had to get everything in my first pass since they were shutting it down. The food I had was fine, but as I ate and they literally walled off the buffet area, I definitely felt like we were overstaying our welcome. Needless to say, I didn't even feel like coffee or an after-dinner drink was even an option. We were back in our car and headed out of the parking lot less than an hour after we had been seated. With tip, we spent close to $300 for three people. If the closing time is such a priority here, they should let us know when we make reservations and alert us that if you have a 5pm reservation, you'll be seated late and have 30 minutes to choke down your dinner. I work in the service industry myself and I realize it is no pleasure to work on a holiday, but if you're offering reservations for a certain hour, even if it's the last seating, you should allow people enough time to enjoy what they are paying (a lot) for.

On your next trip to Old Vinings Inn, you have to ask for DWANY! He was so knowledgeable about the menu and everything he recommended was amazing! Definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu!

My sister and I made a reservation about a week ahead of time. Day of we were able to make a quick change on the Open Table app. Our uber dropped us off for a 8:15pm reservation for my birthday (valet parking only). We walked in and were greeted immediately in the littler foyer with a fire place (very cozy). They wished me happy birthday (because of my note in Open Table) and lead us to our table. We were welcomed by our waitress Lisa. She gave some great recommendations for wine and food. She even scrounged up some bread before the 8 top upstairs got it all (since it was so late). She was very personable and honest about the menu on her likes and dislikes. After dinner, she brought out the dessert of my choosing and even sung Happy Birthday to me! She was great til the very end. If you want a good experience here, see Lisa. You find her upstairs in the bar area on Saturday nights! Thanks again for a great birthday dinner!

We had brunch this past weekend and our server Lori was wonderful! Great food, great drinks and wonderful weekend brunch atmosphere!

We had my grandmother's 80th birthday brunch at this wonderful Vinings staple. The food was great. The drinks were great she deeply enjoyed her 80th birthday brunch. Thank you to the staff for being excellent.

Food and service not the same. So sad user to live the brunch. Dinner lately a disappointing affair.

Attended brunch here and the food and service was great. Our server was Lori and she took good care of us. I had a French 75 and it was perfect. The food takes a bit long to come out, but it's good. Parking is limited in their lot, but nearby parking is available. Definitely I great experience.

Amazing dinner filled with small town, southern charm. The patio was perfect on a breezy fall night, service was excellent, and food was classic Georgian with an upscale flair. The filet was delicious and the corn spoon bread left me wanting seconds. The candied bacon brownie had the perfect balance of salty and sweet. The only criticism we had was for the fried green tomatoes. Our server highly recommended them, and they weren't that good. The texture was off and the goat cheese spread didn't pair well with the flavor of the breading.

The place is a dump... Two Stars on hopes that it improves. Brought the mother-in-law to Mothers Day Bunch, and it was awful... Not a place to recommend...

Came here for a team dinner with a group of about 20. We were seated promptly in a room off the main entrance. The area they seated us in was quite warm so we ended up turning on the overhead fan which, due to the low ceiling height, required some members to sit in different seats that they had originally taken. We were brought out bread and some appetizers for the table. The fried green tomatoes appeared to be homemade and came with a nice remoulade. At this point I ordered some wine for the tables opting for a few reds since everyone was a fan. There were some good buys on the list at a two times mark up but there were others that were well above three for average wines with marketable names. Do your homework before ordering. Due to our party's size we opted for the prix fixe menu and I had the fish. It came egg battered and fried with a sauce that was a bit too heavy for the fish. The sides came family style and while I found the vegetables to be undercooked the potatoes and mac and cheese were both very good. I only had a taste of the dessert and found it to be good, at that point I was full and would have rather had a scotch so we ordered something from their list. Service was spotty at first but once we got an additional server things ran smoother. I think I would rather visit here with a smaller group and try the other menu items that we did not have access to.
