Old World Pizza Truck

We hired Old World Pizza Truck for our anniversary party and we couldn't have been more pleased. We ordered their Charcuterie and Pizza service, and from the onset Stephanie & Team were super responsive with questions and the booking process. We had a storm pass just before the party, but that didn't deter the two ladies who kept a smile on and our needs to move the station, despite getting rained on in the process. Thankfully the rain stopped as guests arrived and the pizza was the star of the show, as were our two pizza makers. All our guests raved about the quality and variety of pizza, and one of our gluten-free guests said it was the best they ever had. The service includes great ice cream and espresso service, which made it turnkey. Don't hesitate and hire them -- you won't be disappointed!

I had the pleasure of working alongside Jack and Janet’s team at a wedding hosted at Griswold Point, and they were truly fantastic to work with. We have had the pleasure of working with Old Wold Pizza Truck twice; Once for my husband, 60th Birthday and recently for my daughter’s wedding. They are amazing! Their pizzas are unique and always delicious. Their service for a large group always run smoothly and quickly. There is very little waiting in line for your food. As if pizza and salad weren’t enough the ice cream and cappuccino at the end Is a nice treat. At the wedding, we decided to also do the charcuterie board they offer. So beautifully arranged, and everything was delicious. I would highly recommend using this company for any occasion. The staff at the event Was wonderful, and the various conversations that I had with Stephanie before the Event always left me feeling like I was in good hands.

Old World Pizza truck catered our wedding at Mount Southington on 9/16/23 and did a phenomenal job. We were a little nervous about the casual nature of a food truck at our wedding, but the staff and food completely exceeded our expectations. Guests were raving about how good the pizza was. The quantity and variety was truly impressive. As far as I could tell, we never got low on food, and the staff were all so friendly in explaining all the topping options to guests and serving them as they came up. We had about 140 guests and the line did get LONG so some guests whose tables were called later in the evening had to wait a while for their food. I think this was just a result of guests taking so long to choose what they wanted (as there were so many delicious options) and not at all the fault of the staff. The ice cream was such a sweet touch to the end of the night and they even sent us home with a bottle of Old World Pizza wine that we can't wait to try! Hired OWPT for our son’s high school graduation party. Crew arrived an hour early to set up. Very friendly and professional. Cranked out pizza after pizza for 2 hours with a huge variety of flavors, all of which were amazing and creative and incredibly delicious. Everybody loved it. Thanks again for a memorable day. Would definitely hire them again!

From the beginning with showing interest in booking, all the to end of the party to cleanup, the entire team was seamless to work with! Old World Pizza Truck is a wood-fired pizza truck that opened in New Haven, Connecticut in 2007. It was founded by husband and wife Jack & Janet Flagge. No strangers to the culinary world, the Flagges have been involved in the catering business since 1980. When they founded their pizza truck business in 2007, the Flagges joined just a handful of other pizza trucks in Connecticut. They chose the name "Old World" to reflect a way of life and cooking: a celebration where food is more than just nourishment. Today the Flagges have a fleet of multiple pizza trucks and a staff of 25+ employees. The trucks travel around Connecticut to craft delicious wood-fired pizza pies at wineries, breweries, festivals, and private functions. When the trucks aren't running, they are parked behind One 6 Three: a brick & mortar wood-fired pizzeria that was founded by the Flagge's daughter Alexa and her boyfriend Andrew Holmes. Many of the menu items between Old World and One 6 Three are the same. My family and I recently sampled some pizzas from Old World while we were attending a friend's birthday party. Old World was hired to cater the party. I had previously sampled pizza from their sister business: One 6 Three. While some of the pizza varieties were the same, others were exclusive to the pizza truck menu. Throughout the party, some of the pizzas prepared included Pepperoni, Margherita, Fresh Sliced Tomato, Mashed Potato & Bacon, White Clam, Eggplant, Sausage, Asparagus, Spinach, Mushroom, Broccoli Rabe, Shrimp, Caramelized Onions, Roasted Red Peppers, Pan-Seared Zucchini, Filet Mignon, and Peanut Butter & Jelly. They were all delicious!! Afterwards, the friendly staff served French-style ice cream, espresso, cappuccino, and affogatos for dessert. I was really impressed with the pizza from Old World and I hope to run into one of their trucks again!

Our guests were absolutely amazed by the truck and blown away by both the generous quantity and the high-end quality of the pizza. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I'm so grateful for the outstanding service OWPT provided. The crew sent was absolutely fantastic--friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive to every guest. I honestly couldn't have found a better catering solution. We even had some out-of-state guests, and thanks to you, they now understand why Connecticut and New Haven are home to the country's best pizza! Thanks again!

Two trucks came to our company today (10/3), although the staff was very kind, the crust on these pizzas was paper thin and all condiments fell off. some tastier than others.

I am so glad I choose old world pizza to provide food for my wedding after party they were a smashing success everyone loved the pizza. the crew that worked the truck was outstanding they were on top of their game and kept things moving. the gelato was out of this world and I don't even eat gelato! they topped it off with a nice little bottle of their wine to say thank you for choosing them and I thought that was a nice touch. I worked with Janet and Jack and they were awesome to work with made it easy and clear. we had a great time - thank you to old world pizza.

Hiring Old World Pizza Truck was the best decision I made for a party! From the very first detailed email from Janet ( she, along with her husband, Jack are the owners) to the date of the party, was a seamless transaction! The crew sent out were Fantastic! Jim and Matt arrived as expected (earlier) and got the truck ready for the start time of the party. Everything was seamlessly done and the rest of the friendly and helpful crew arrived and served up some gorgeous salads and amazing and delish pizza! There were so many to choose from and within minutes more was being fired up and served and many more delicious combinations of toppings! Soon, everyone was comparing their favorites! They crew also accommodates GF pizza eaters- also delicious! The dessert pizzas and hand scooped French Ice cream were a hit as well as the cappucino and espresso coffees. The clean up was timely and after filling everyone up with their delicious ness, they said goodbye with boxed up leftovers and a bottle of their wine for us to enjoy later on. Guests are still raving about it- as of a week later, still getting texts and phone calls how great the pizza was!!! You know that the food is the entire party and the pizza was absolutely delicious! Their motto is We Cook with Love and there is definitely a lot of love in their food! They also have a restaurant at 163 Foster St. In New Haven. OWPT, Janet & Jack have this operation nailed down and dialed in and it shows! You won't be anything but impressed with them from beginning to end!

Had a great experience with Old World Pizza Truck! Janet was so helpful in the booking process and her crew made the day of my daughter's baptism less stressful as a host. The pizza was incredible. I had a ton of leftovers which was also a plus! My toddler couldn't get enough of the pizza and ate the PB&J pie this morning for breakfast. Guests were raving about the pizzas. If you want to throw an unforgettable party with low stress look no further, hire Old world pizza truck!

This was simply the best experience we could have imagined. They were super easy to deal with to set our event up. On the day of our event the staff arrived and literally took care of everything. The pizza was outstanding and everyone couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. The staff was top notch, super friendly and made sure everyone was enjoying the pizza. They also cleaned up everything before they left. A 10/10 experience. Will definitely use them again in the future.

I hired old world pizza truck for my sons 8th birthday. From the initial conversation until the clean up at the party they were professional and accommodating. The party was on a Saturday at noon and the pizza truck arrived some time before that to set up and get the oven hot. They were kind enough to make us a "breakfast pizza" to give us and idea of what we would be getting at the party. The guys were all so pleasant and had great personalities which they used to play up to the party guests. We had 50 people. 20+ children and their parents. The set up was clean and organized. They gave us a tour of the truck and where all the supplies and food items were stored. They asked us what type of music we liked and had decent speakers which added to the enjoyment. And then the pizzas started coming out....... The party was June 1st and I'm still hearing parents talk about the pizza. There were so many unbelievable pies. My favorite was the potato pie with bacon. I saw pies with shrimp, pies with chicken, it seemed endless the possibilities. I tired the peanut butter and jelly pie. Wow. Who knew. The pies kept coming and the staff would patiently explain them to what seemed like every guest. They're so attentive. There were cute little nuances in between too such as photo opportunities and having my son ring the bell on the truck. When it was time for dessert, the gelato was fantastic. Everyone, I mean everyone tried it. And they made cappuccino and espresso. Even that was amazing, so much so that my 90 year old Italian nana enjoyed it. They cleaned up without any inconvenience to us. We left with big hugs. After the hours they spent at the party they felt like family. Would absolutely love to have them cater our parties again. Hands down worth every dollar. Thanks again guys.

Old World Pizza Truck delivered a fantastic party...from start to finish. The entire staff is super friendly. The pizza was delicious and plentiful...all our guests were full and pleased. The truck arrived smoking and ready to go...the aroma filled the neighborhood. Definitely booking this crew again!!

Jack and his team catered our Company Picnic last Saturday. With approx. 250 people they seamlessly fed us all in a timely manner and with a smile. Their repertoire of Gourmet Pizza's was extensive, Artichoke, Shrimp Scampi, Asparagus, Fig, BBQ Chicken with Blue Berries ( my personal favorite ) , Eggplant Rollatini and many more. They all taste great. Great tasting Salad, Ice Cream, Expresso and Cappucino as well. Highly recommend them for any occasion. I will also recommend their restaurant ONE 6 THREE in New Haven as well.

I can not say enough about how fabulous this truck was! We had a recent party with Jack and team and everything was outstanding! I had chosen Old World three months again after reading reviews and studying other websites. What separates them from others are the gourmet nature of their food. This is not your typical pizza! Your foodie friends and relatives will be amazed at their offerings from Brussel sprouts, bacon and honey pizza to filet mignon and for dessert, peanut butter and jelly! The salad had cranberries and goat cheese and the ice cream and cappuccino and espresso were excellent! They even had decaf. We had people with allergies and they were willing to accommodate or even make a special pizza for someone. Their servers Allison and Hope were wonderful as they explained each pizza to the guests. Due to Covid, we wanted everything outside and we had added space between the servers and our guests. What I particularly liked was the size of the slices. They purposely cut them small so each guest could try one of perhaps twelve different kinds of pizza at a given time. They also boxed up the extra pieces and we have been enjoying them since! I was in touch with Janet before the party and she answered all of my questions promptly. Unfortunately the day of our party it rained ALL during the party. But Jack was able to set up the pizza table in one of our garage bays and there was an awning outside of the truck and with a few pop up tents that our bartender brought, the party went on without a hitch! They also presented us with a parting gift, a bottle of their own wine! I highly recommend and because they are booked way in advance, I would reserve ASAP.

When my husband and I thought about what type of food we wanted at our wedding, we knew that pizza had to be one of the options. Living in New Haven means that you have a pizza preference, and when we found out that our favorite pizza place, 163, had a sister pizza truck, Old World Pizza Truck, we were immediately interested. From the beginning, Janet was responsive and helpful to our questions. On the day of the wedding, the truck arrived early and fired up their brick oven. Within minutes our guests could smell the fire and knew something delicious was coming our way. The guys on the truck created SO MANY amazing pizzas, and whenever one was empty, there was another immediately in its place. They made sure my husband had his favorite (the A & A special) done gluten free, and kept the favorites coming. When the night wound down, they boxed up all our leftovers, and when the wedding was over, we sat with our family eating cold pizza and still loving it. Many of our guests remarked that this was some of the best pizza (and most creative) that they had ever eaten; but we already knew this! Still, thanks Old World for living up to our expectations and giving us a fabulous meal.

Old World Pizza Truck catered our wedding in June and working with them was an absolute joy. They got back to us immediately whenever we had questions (thank you Janet!!) and they were so incredibly prepared the day of. Their package included pizza, salad, gelato and coffee and our guests haven't stopped talking about how delicious all the food was - especially the pizza! The staff was so awesome and so kind. We will be hiring them in the future for sure. This is your sign to hire Old World for your next event!

Every year the place I work arranges for them to come and make us lunch. It's always a fun time, albeit a bit of a clusterf--- given that we have 200+ employees...although that should give you a sample of the breadth of their skill. Given the circumstances they have to work with, they do a great job! I LOVE LOVE LOVE their mashed potato pizza, and whatever they make with clams is also very good. I was disappointed though this year, I don't know if the old truck broke down, or now they have 2, but instead of the old fashioned antique truck, this year the truck had a modern International cab.

My husband & I are vegan & they made us a custom pizza which was delicious, I don't think I've ever eaten that much pizza in one meal but I couldn't stop, it was just amazing!!

The Old World Pizza Truck catered my sister's wedding and I don't even know where to begin......... GREAT communication, from the planning throughout the event. Prompt, professional, courteous, FUNNY, hardworking staff. They shlepped hot pies and salad uphill in the rain while smiling. Outstanding selection, creative and delicious pies. Would recommend them for any event. To quote my aunt: "I'm never cooking for a family event again. Can we just have them on stand-by?"

Old World Pizza Truck catered a party that we attended this part Saturday in Southbury, CT. They pulled the truck right into the driveway of the host, and served up dinner for about 30 people. The truck has a wood-fired oven inside of it, and the pizzas (New Haven-style pizza, thin but with a bready outer crust) were all made on-site. The pizzas offered ranged from traditional (cheese, pepperoni) to fancy (shrimp scampi, cauliflower cream) to whimsical (peanut butter, mashed potato) and were universally delicious. Special orders were offered for those with unusual food needs (like gluten-free). They also served gelato for dessert. The only downside to the night is the pizzas were not hot when served, for the most part, because they could only make 2 to 3 pizza at a time, and had to leave them out in the cool air while cooking more. But this is a minor thing, as the pizza was good warm or lukewarm and they would reheat any pieces if asked. I can't speak to cost, as I was a guest and not a host. Overall, highly recommended!

We had Old World Pizza Truck for our daughter's high school graduation party in June, 2021, approx. 70 people. That's a lot of people to please and it blew everyone away. The staff for our party was awesome (Jim and Matt at the truck) - professional, courteous, flexible, you name it. Would highly recommend them.

This is the second time we have used Old World Pizza Truck and it has been amazing on both occasions. The staff is so friendly and accommodating--they clearly enjoy what they do, they have the tunes playing which makes the atmosphere lively, while proudly serving their delicious creations. Our guests were thrilled with the unusual selections and were delighted that they could keep going back for more. I highly recommend Old World, its a fun experience for hosts + guests.

We use Old World Pizza Truck for a day after wedding party/ family reunion. We had 135 guest. We have number of favorable comments. 1. Office staff - very professional and responsive to our needs 2. Truck arrived early enough to set up and serve on time 3. A wide variety of delicious gourmet pizza's were served. As good as a the best that New Haven has to offer including their white clam pizza. Gelato, espresso and cappuccino were a bonus. 4. Very friendly cooking and service staff. 5. Truck had a great sound system that played whatever Pandora mix you want to hear If you are going to hire a pizza truck, this is the one to use

Food truck brought great pizza to a party I went to, hard to give a fair review as I didn't have to pay anything. Our friend had to pay per person, and its hard to know how many people will really show up to any party. So I can't say much about the overall value. Pizza truck had a brick oven and cooked all the pizzas on site in the wood burning stove. Pizza variety was unreal, everything from the normal standards all good, to the specials like BBQ chicken & bacon, to the unusual like clam pizza, to the very rare filet mignon and potato pizza (my fav) and spagetti & bacon & meatball pizza, to the very bizarre peanut butter, jelly & bacon. Something for everyone I guarantee. Deserts were good, fresh homemade gelato 4 flavors and cappuccinos & espresso. They also played music. Best of all they clean up and leave you with nothing but leftover pizza. A real value to any big outdoor party.

These guys did a great job at a wedding we went to and were able to accommodate all sorts of food needs. Superb flavor and very professional. We have hired them for one of our events.

One week ago we had the pizza truck at out Graduation/Birthday with 74 Guests, The pizza was very good and the staff was pleasant. That being said the espresso machine was not working, one of the staff offered us a credit of $50, after paying just over $2300 with tax and tip I felt insulted and did not accept that. My guests and I were unhappy after I had told them there will be espresso and cappuccino. I sent the owners of the Old World Pizza Truck an email on Monday following the party stating the food and service was good but I was VERY UPSET! with the espresso situation and the insulting $50 off! THEY NEVER RESPONDED TO THE EMAIL!! I guess once they are paid they no longer care of the customer.

I had the chance to eat their pizza at the Run the Gauntlet obstacle course race. They gave 3 slices of pizza to each runner, which I thought was generous. The guys were awesome, just in general laughing and talking and having a good time while making all the pizza. It's refreshing to see people enjoy their jobs so much. Also the trucks were cool with the wood oven built in and the pizza was delish!

three words: supradeliciousness, tastefulnessness, and flavorocity. all of them are words I made up specifically to describe the otherworldly experience that was gorging myself on the pizza from the truck. the people that staff the Old World truck go out of their way to make your experience otherworldly. I can't emphasize enough how stellar of an experience this was. in summation, as I sit here, dining on this wondrous gelato dessert, basking in my slice of pastoral Americana. I harken back to those there words, taste, awesome, fun. the words that describe the taste of success. and the Old World Pizza Truck.

Just had the pizza truck at my parent's house for my husband's 30th birthday party and I highly recommend them! Booking the pizza truck with Janet was extremely easy and she was always available to answer my questions. The day of the party everything was FANTASTIC! The pizza's were incredible. There were so many unique combinations, it kept my guests and I wanting to try more and more pizza. Jim and Jaime were an absolute blast to hang out with while they were making pizzas. Angela was a great server and having so much patience explaining all the pizzas to the guests. The crew took care of everything and made the party easy. Gelato and coffee were a great end to the pizza as well. I highly recommend Old World Pizza truck because it will make your life easier planning a party and guests will love it!

The Old World Pizza Truck served at our block party last night. They were great!!! Food was delicious and the servers were incredible! I highly recommend them. I will definitely hire them again.

Our rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding at Boothe Park in Stratford - fantastic location - was a huge success and fun evening for our 65 guests thanks to the Old World Pizza Truck. Jack, Joe, and the servers not only made terrific pizzas and salad - and gelato and cappuccino - but they were so enjoyable in how they interacted with our family and friends. To talk about the pizzas: In a word, WOW! The combinations were both traditional and creative - and the way they served them in slices that were sized so you could try MANY made them even better. Loved how they worked with guests who had food allergies, too. We had heard from some friends who had other "pizza trucks" for their parties that they were disappointed because the process was slow and so few pizzas were out at a time. NOT the case with the Old World Pizza Truck! Our guests, 10 days later, are still raving about the party and the truck. So many have said that they wish the Old World Pizza Truck had a storefront /restaurant somewhere so they could have more of the pizzas! To Jack, Janet, and the Team: thank you for making a special event and weekend for our family even more special! Hope we get to do it again.

We had Old World Pizza Truck for our 3 year olds birthday party this past weekend Nov 17, 2019. From the initial contact with Janet to set up the date and agree the contract thru the end of the event everything was amazing. It was colder out than we had hoped so the team set up the pizza tables in our front hall which worked great. They made some simple pies for the kids and then brought out all the fabulous pies for the grown-ups! We had Matt as our Pizza Maker, Jim- Oven Person and Oleg & Tom -servers. Our guests raved about it and we would definitely hire them again in the future.

Yesterday, my cycling club hired the truck for our after-ride picnic. We've done this in the past. I have celiac disease and have enjoyed their gluten-free pizza. When I got there, I was told that they didn't bring any gluten-free flour because "we weren't told it was needed". So, let me get this straight. They offer gluten-free pizza and were serving a large group and were relying on the contact at the group to know of any dietary restrictions. Incredibly poor planning & irrational decision-making!

We had Old World Pizza truck come for our big picnic to celebrate our wedding on Saturday 9/2. What an amazing job did Jim, Paul and the servers ( Kait, Alexandra and Beau) did!! They were so wonderful to work with, so friendly, the food was phenomenal, and the service was just exemplary. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them and will be singing their praises for all my years to come. All my guests cannot stop raving about you guys too!! We had close to 100 guests. And everyone left STUFFED!!!! We had such an amazingl time!!! The bottle of wine to thank us at the end of the night was such a nice touch. Working with Jack and Janet to set up the party was a pleasure, they were always available to answer my calls, and friendly. A seamless and effortless process from start to finish. They are all truly are class acts. I would use them 100 times over.

Outstanding and care-free! Our food truck arrived and within 30 minutes or so, they were set-up and serving outstanding thin sliced pizza with a variety of toppings for as long as our guests were eating. Add salad, ice cream and cappuccino, paper goods - totally care-free. They boxed all the remaining slices and even offered to make a few extra pies to leave us. Our crew (Derek, Gary and Mark) were terrific. We'll absolutely use Old World Pizza again.

Amazing pizza, great fun, and kids love it. Every gourmet pizza you could imagine and gelato. I recommend this to everyone wanting a fun backyard party.

I'll start with this: this pizza is fantastic. These guys really knew what they were doing. Flawlessly served an incredible meal to a good sized party. The pizza ranged from your standard pie done perfectly, to deliciously creative. The peanut butter pizza is an experience in and of itself. The guys operating the truck were incredibly friendly and fun to hang out with. Since eating their pizza, I have been trying to figure out if there are any upcoming parties I could use them for. Great food and a lot of fun.

I am the event coordinator and primary cook for the Sound Cyclist Bike Club (SCBC.com) based in Fairfield CT. We hired OWPT to cater our Labor Day ride that we do each year in Greenwich. We could not be more pleased with their service, quality of food, selection and professional attitude. The staff that came to the event were wonderful, they were patient and took the whole event to a higher level. We had 100 hungry people, (most of them had just completed a 35 mile bike ride) and anticipated that it would rain at any minute... the weather held and after eating the wonderful food and been given truly professional service 100 very happy people left singing their praise. I wholeheartedly recommend them for a unique catered event.

Outstanding variety of delicious pizzas, salad, dessert etc. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. they make a great party experience. Highly recommended. We attended a bat mitzvah that they catered for about 50+ kids and adults. Everyone remarked on the great food. It couldn't' be better.

We used Old World Pizza Truck for a rehearsal dinner held at a local park they were Awesome!!! The pizza was absolutely delicious,and the selections and variety amazing! Roasted cauliflower, blueberry, shrimp scampi, spaghetti and clams and on and on. Our guests had so much fun trying pizza they wouldn't typically try in a restaurant and it was all absolutely delicious. The staff was fun, creative and courteous and even accommodated gluten free diets. Can't say enough good things about this operation! They really helped contribute to a very memorable wedding weekend for our son and his new wife. A great experience!

I highly recommend Old World Pizza Truck. We had a very positive experience with them for our event. They offer an extensive menu of gourmet pizzas, a top quality salad, gelato or pastry and espresso and cappuccino. We even requested particular types of pizza prior to the event and they accommodated us the day of. They manage to be both professional and down to earth. Janet is a sweetheart who has years of diverse culinary experience. I can't say enough great things about them. If you hire the Old World Pizza Truck for your event, you will not be disappointed and your friends and family will be impressed.

Fun and low labor way to throw a party. The pizza is fresh and delicious and can cater for any special diet. Staff is friendly and informative. Try the BBQ chicken and blueberry or. Mashed potato pie.

Old world pizza truck came for my daughters 3rd birthday and rocked it!! From the moment they arrived, I knew they were going to do it right. Jim and Jaimie were so friendly and introduced themselves right away. They were very professional and made me feel comfortable that they were going to take care of myself and the guests at the party. The pizza was awesome! And the variety was excellent. We had two servers that were so nice and helpful and explained all the pizzas to the guests. The pizza tables never looked empty and were always filled with pizza. Kids loved to go up and try different slices of each. The ice cream at the end was awesome and it was a great way to top it off. Old world really did an amazing job for my party. I would definitely get them again.
