Yelp
This is the best Irish Pub around! My fiancé is a self-appointed Irish Pub connoisseur and this pub ranks at the top of his list. Why you might ask? Well let's dive into the details:
1. It's atmosphere. I have no idea whether it is authentic...maybe one day I will travel to Ireland and amend this review to tell you more...but in the meantime, I still like it. The ambiance is cool, the details in the bars and booths are amazing and the stained-glass windows are pretty.
2. They have cool events. They have a huge St. Paddy's Day party, as any respecting Irish Pub should, along with cornhole leagues, etc.
3. They are clean. I am utterly shocked at how this number is a miss for many an Irish Pub that I have been to.
Now onto the menu. Here are some shoutouts for items I have tried and loved:
- The Vegetarian Boxty for Brunch. I hate to tease you with this one because it is no longer on the menu but I am somewhat selfishly putting this up now in the hopes that the owners will read this and put it back on the menu . It is traditional Irish potato pancakes with three-cheese egg casserole (eggs, cheese, chives) topped with roasted mushrooms, sautéed spinach, tomatoes, red peppers drizzled with a lemon dill beurre blanc sauce. It is packed with so much flavor and one of the best brunch items in all of the area. It is so good, I haven't tried anything else on the brunch menu. I would like to try The Sealegs Boxty with smoked salmon and the corned beef hash with real chunks of corned beef unlike the ones that look like they came out of a can.
On the dinner menu:
- Guinness Stout Onion Soup. Need I say more?
- Chili. This was surprisingly good for an Irish Pub.
- Ale and Cheddar Dip. So evil and so good with a soft pretzel for dipping.
- Kilkenny Reuben. They are known for this Reuben and it shows. It is packed with corned beef that tastes like they really put a lot of love and attention to it. They didn't buy a pound from the Publix deli.
Here are things on the menu that I want to try but haven't yet. I will report back when I do:
- Scotch Eggs
- Short Rib Quesadilla
- Salmon Cakes
....see how many intriguing options they have?....
- Ale-braised Sort Rib Sandwich
- Limerick Monte Christo
- Shepherd's Pie
- Irish Stew
- Corned Beef and Cabbage
- Traditional Irish Breakfast
And, of course, you have to get a Snakebite at any true Irish Pub
Happy eating!
