Bagels were really good. Dense, with good chew and flavour. Freshly baked and with a good variety. But for me what really set this neighbourhood spot apart was the amazing homemade cream cheeses. Whether a traditional cream cheese flavour or flavours I have never seen anywhere else before, they made for delicious bagel sandwiches. Friendly counter staff

Google
A bussin' spot that would do better if they didn't burn the bagels.... and if they smeared their schmear. Came in from out of town and HAD to get a bagel for breakfast. Classic lox for me, [burnt] garlic for my bro (his 2nd experience getting a burnt garlic bagel) , and plain w/ cheese for my boys. I couldn't afford the cost of a bagel AND egg, so I cooked an egg at home and brought it with me - I was pleased with the results.

Google
I always get their Zaatar bagel, toasted with light cream cheese and devour it EVERY TIME!❤️ Love the place, the people (especially the girl at the register) and the owner!! Although the prices are on the higher end, you are paying for the location and quality at the end of the day, so that’s all that matters.

Google
Avoid delivery at all costs! Ordered a dozen bagels through GrubHub and specified the type and number through the site. OBBS called to let me know they didn't have egg so I told them to replace them with plain -- fine, great, thanks for asking and not just throwing whatever in there, but... When the bagels arrived, the dozen was completely wrong. It was like they had a million everything bagels they had to get rid of and I was the lucky caller. I rang them to see what went wrong and was immediately met with arguing and the person on the phone just attempted to yell over me the entire time. After it got a bit heated, they finally agreed to send me another batch and we went through the numbers, TWICE, together. Second delivery? STILL WRONG. How do you get the writing on the receipt correct and the order incorrect? I guess order from here if you want to play bagel roulette and enjoy getting yelled at.

Google
Wow - very tasty and amazing service (I came from workout and wanted a lot of proteins and they customized my bagel to my macro nutrient needs!). Friendly atmosphere and option to sit outside - and at reasonable prices too!

Today, after my bike ride in Prospect Park, I decided to stop and have a bagel. I took it and ate it while enjoying the little bench out front. When I went back inside, the staff told me I had accidentally taken someone else’s bagel. Well, it was delicious, and the staff was really nice about it. Thanks you!

Google
My go to spot for a bagel; I only get them delivered, but they’re always great. The cinnamon bun is a bit of a miss to me, kinda dry… but the pre packaged black and white cookie is great (sweet, but great)

Google
Really solid bagels. Super fast service. No indoor seating or bathroom. You’ll carry your bagel out with you. There are benches outside which you can sit on. Ordering, here’s a little bit interesting, you’ll start a loop that goes between the refrigerators and shelves, and it’ll take me to the far end of the counter where you’ll order. once you’re done ordering, they’ll give you a piece of paper with your items, kind of like a receipt. You’re done go along the counter to the cashier where you’ll pay. Once you’re done paying you wait after the cashier until your items ready to pull out your number and I’ll give you your stuff.

Yelp
One of the best bagel shops in the area. Large menu. Be ready with what type of bagel you feel like. The service is quick and easy. And the cashier was friendly. Mr. F (Pastrami, fried egg, lettuce, red onion, and cream cheese on an everything bagel.)

Nicole D.

Yelp
Second visit to this hectic bagel shoppe. The line is always long so don't pop in expecting a quick takeaway. The line to order wraps around a tall display shelf. So you are unable to see the menu until moments prior to ordering. Be prepared to decide very quickly! The shoppe offers many cream cheese beautifully displayed in mountainous dishes inside a cooler. Today was the Fort Greene sandwich served on toasted everything bagel and chive cream cheese. The avacado and turkey was plenty. Skimpy on lettuce cheese and tomato. My two friends receieved their individual sandwich in order of the ticket number, while I was skipped by five numbers. Finally the cashier called my ticket to clarify that I wanted the pepperjack cheese listed on the sandwich description. Mind you I didn't modify my order . So again I was resigned to waiting as my friends paced on the sidewalk. The service requires improvement. The sandwiches are on par compared to others in the neighborhood. Price point is high at $19 for a turkey sandwich.

Yelp
This has quickly become my go-to bagel spot in the neighborhood! The za'atar bagel with scallion lox cream cheese is super addicting. Quick service and lots of different bagel and spread options!

Kinjal P.

Yelp
Got the vegan sausage egg and cheese and husband got the turkey panini with peppers. Both were awesome!! The staff was really nice, they get busy on weekends especially so the wait was kind of long. They have nice outdoor seating as well.

Angela B.

Yelp
Zaatar Bagel w/Olive Cream Cheese is amazing. The flavor of the bagel paired nicely with the cream cheese. This was recommended by the gentleman who took our order and he didn't steer us wrong. I'd totally go back to see what other unique flavors they have and when in doubt, ask for a recommendation and be adventurous. You can tell this has been around awhile, the shop is quaint and you can see the age and history here.

Michelle C.

Yelp
I came around noon but apparently that was too late as they were all sold out of the za'atar bagels. Fortunately, there was za'atar cream cheese, and I absolutely fell in love with it. Initially I was leaning towards the black truffle cream cheese, but I asked the staff member taking my order which they would recommend and they immediately responded with za'atar. My sesame bagel with za'atar cream cheese came out $6 and it was worth ever penny. The sesame seeds had a nice toasted flavor and the bagel had an excellent deep brown color. The texture was not too denser and the inside was nice and springy. But that cream cheese, wow! It's nutty, it's rich, and the tang you usually get from the sumac is tempered by the cream cheese. In fact, it makes the cream cheese taste even cheesier and savorier, thanks to the marjoram and oregano. I will definitely be back to try their za'atar bagel and black truffle cream cheese too. But the za'atar cream cheese is definitely worth a trip over to Olde Brookyn Bagel Shoppe.

Yelp
Cute storefront with lots of items for purchase... like a bodega plus bagels. No seating at the store, but lots of tables nearby when open streets is ongoing. The bagels lacked a bit of something and were quite white. When toasted they we're burned. I'll save my bagel fix for the next stop.

Beese C.

Yelp
Just spent $16 on two ABC sandwiches with no egg. I guess I should have taken the menu literally, but I think it's pretty reasonable to have expected an egg on the sandwich. Listed under "breakfast sandwiches" is the ABC, "Avocado, bacon, cheese". Every single other bagel sandwich has egg. $8 for a bagel sandwich without egg is ridiculous. I'll spend my money somewhere else.

Sarah P.

Yelp
I've only ordered for delivery but these are the best bagels I've had in this area- still not my favorite but these are decent. I appreciate that they offer a few different flavors of cream cheese- including some very unique options like black truffle cc and bacon maple cc among various others. They also offer nice bagel sandwich options. Delivery has been fine, sometimes it can be slow on a busy morning. I'll continue to order delivery. 4/5

Marina B.

Yelp
A neighborhood fave. Reliably gold bagels and lots of yummy and fun choices of cream cheese etc.

Allen L.

Yelp
A little surprised by the rating here on Yelp because I thought the bagel here was decently good! It's a bodega and bagel shop in one storefront. GET THE BLACK TRUFFLE CREAM CHEESE. First time that I had this type of cream cheese, and sure they're probably riding on the truffle trend, but I loved it.

Peter B.

Yelp
Great bagel, prompt and friendly service, and a really cute old-school decor vibe. Plus fresh squeezed OJ made the take out experience perfect. My everything with egg whites, turkey sausage, cheese and tomato was huge and delicious.

Jenna B.

Yelp
Soft chewy bagel, flavorful spread, perfectly crispy bacon and quick friendly service. What's not to like? My order: ~$9 Everything bagel Siracha scallion garlic cc (special of the week and great!) Bacon, extra crispy

Michael Y.

Yelp
I'm not sure why the reviews are so low for the bagel, it isn't that bad at all, and their signature Zataar bagel has some nice spices and flavors to it. They have many cream cheese flavors, and everything is generally good. They don't have seating, which can be an issue, but the place doubles as a Deli as there are options for other hot food options as well, coffee, and there are snacks you can buy as well.

Tom G.

Yelp
A nice bagel shop! Expect NYC prices, because you'll get them! We popped in for a coffee and bagel late AM. There are a lot of options with both bagel and toppings. The service was great! There's no indoor seating, but 2 long benches right outside, where we sat comfortably and enjoyed both the coffee (very good, by the way) and bagels.

Justin T.

Yelp
Stopped by to get an everything bagel with hot honey pecan cc on a Tuesday afternoon around 430p on my way to prospect park. I probably should have asked for it to be toasted being that it's later in the day and the bagel wasn't as fresh as if I'd gotten it in the morning; but still very enjoyable. Service was quick, staff are friendly. Absolutely love the store logo-d parchment paper they use to wrap the bagel (it's in the little things!) Very generous cream cheese schmear. Would come back.

Justin C.

Yelp
I'm sorry to say I didn't really like the bagel experience here. The place wasn't too busy when I went (I got lucky), ordered a sesame with lox spread, the bagel didn't really have any flavor to it (i know you're going, bagels and flavor, huh, but like, it's bread, we've all had great bread and bad bread, this wasn't good bread) and the cream cheese actually disgusting. I ate half my bagel thinking it was me, had a friend take a bite, and tossed the rest of the bagel out, as I didn't want to chance it with the cream cheese.

Kevin N.

Yelp
The best lox with egg bagel I've had in a very long time! I mean...a lox bagle is a lox bagle, right? Not at this spot...it was so delicious and clearly very memorable! I love that they also have truffle cream cheese, to top it off! The combination of flavor is lethal!!

Ben W.

Yelp
I meant to make a review on Sunday the bagels are amazing it was my first time going I wasn't sure what to order the girl at the register suggested the all the way sandwich with scallion cream cheese we bought 3 it was so good I think her name was Veronica I swear she has the best customer service in New York City I definitely recommend

Ben W.

Yelp
Still delicious as remembered. Coffee was great, sandwiches were delicious, bagels were chewy. The bacon cheddar cream cheese was a great savory choice as well.

Max I.

Yelp
I love this place. Great bagels, super friendly staff, favorite local bagel shop! Gets busy on weekends but generally they are quick too. A+!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was quick. Wished I got the zaatar bagel for my breakfast bagel but it's okay; everything was just as delicious. Went on the subway after picking up order and it stayed warm for a good 20 min in the wrapper/bag!

Rachel G.

Yelp
Found a hair in my bagel - still recovering from the nasty feeling. Yuck. Beware. Should have read the reviews before trying.

Andrea A.

Yelp
I was in town visiting family and I think real NY bagels are at the top of my list of favorite foods ever! My cousin took me to this place and I saw the line coming out of the door! I was skeptical at first but the wait wasn't too bad. It was well worth it! Delicious, fresh pillowy bagels with really interesting and tasty options for fillings. Yum! I'll be back.

Meg L.

Yelp
Awesome place especially for the price. It's cash only but for less than $4 you can get great NY bagels and lox spread. The bagels are so soft and perfect with plenty of cream cheese spread. Loved this place so much! Ample outdoor seating when we went (3 patio tables and 2 next to the store). It's in good walking distance about 10min from the botanical garden so it was a great midday snack.

Nathalie H.

Yelp
Not my first visit to this bagel shop but I really enjoyed the BLT sandwich which is pictured here in this review. You get to choose what kind of bread is used to make the sandwich and I chose whole wheat. I found the sandwich to be a nice balance of lettuce, tomato and just enough bacon bits and some mayo without there being too much of either. Quality over quantity! I have to knock off one star for this review because my first visit there was not to my liking. At the time, I tried their cream cheese bagel which one of my coworkers absolutely raved about. The bagel itself tasted fine and wasn't stale or mushy, but I did not like the copious amounts of cream cheese that were literally slathered on the two halves of the cut bagel to the point I wondered if the person who prepared the order had used half of a whole pint of cream cheese on it. Some people may enjoy eating that much cream cheese on their bagels. I am not one of them. I ended up wiping off whole layers of the cream cheese with several tissues until there was a thin but reasonable layer left on the bread.

M B.

Yelp
They have a decent bagel, I'll give them that but on every other metric they consistently disappoint: price (egregiously high), customer service (rude), wait (long). I'll be taking my business to Bagel Pub even though it's a little out of the way for me. Today was my last straw - I paid $14 for ONE breakfast sandwich (BEC + avocado). It was fine but I can't justify the price anymore, all things considered.

Lindsey O.

Yelp
I really liked the za'atar bagel here. I had it with scallion cream cheese and they deliver on DoorDash. However, I just don't go here much because it's cash only and I'm not going to go out of my way to find an ATM without a fee or use their $2 fee ATM for a bagel here with so many other spots around. I'm pretty sure studies show that businesses lose more money in business by not accepting cash than what they save in credit card fees - time to join the 21st century!

Amira A.

Yelp
Every single time I come in here I'm ignored. I know I'm short but my hair ain't. The food is way too average for me to be consistently ignored, fighting for my life to be seen. The previous time I was here my hero was Sahara dry. I can't even recall what I had the first time. That's how bland it was. I said when I had that dry sandwich I'd never be back again and here I am... back again.

Sawako Y.

Yelp
Good, solid NY bagel. I tried Plain and Cinnamon Raisin, both of which were large, soft, chewy and tasty. ($1.65+ each)

Anjali B.

Yelp
I got a plain bagel toasted with a little bit of cream cheese, lox, and cucumber from here. It was so so good, perfect amount of everything but did get a little messy. It was Saturday morning so the wait was around 10ish minutes but to be expected(we also did order 4 bagels-i would assume if you were just ordering 1 it would have been less). The only reason I did bump them down to 3 stars is because it is most definitely on the pricier side. You can find a bagel just as good for way less. Mine alone was $11, at my bagel place(on Atlantic) this same order would be around $5.75 and it tastes the same. Definitely yummy if you don't want to walk far/ it is near you, but you can save your money.

Marissa S.

Yelp
They have a wide selection of bagels and an even wider selection of cream cheeses, many of which I would not dare try, but the classics are there and they do the trick. The zaatar bagel, which they say they are known for, is interesting, though it eats as if the zaatar was an after thought, so it is very much like you took your own zaatar spice out of your pantry and sprinkled it on your plain bagel. Overall, in my opinion, this is your average bagel shop.

Leemor Y.

Yelp
We originally wanted to get their zaatar bagel but they were out, so we went for the everything bagel with their cucumber dill cream cheese (4.5/5) a flavor I would never normally try. I was super pleasantly surprised with how refreshing and yummy it was. No frills, simple, delicious.

Rachael M.

Yelp
Very solid Sunday bagel. Good selection of vegan/plant-based cream cheese and excellent bagels. I look forward to trying the zaatar bagel

Elena M.

Yelp
Ooh man this should be rated much higher. I go here weekly for fresh everything bagels. If you're buying just bagels (not sandwiches) they are much cheaper than bagel pub and just as good, and staff moves quick. The muffins and scone I've tried weren't very good, but that's not why I come here :-)

Rayna H.

Yelp
It was my first time in the city in over a year. I was expecting a disgruntled employee like a lot of them are. It was such a pleasure to have such great customer service! The bagel and coffee I ordered were yummy but it made it better being served with a smile and care. Whoever was working on the day shift on 7/8/23 deserves a raise!

Susanna Y.

Yelp
Are you crazy!? #1 bagel in Brooklyn? Who on the Times staff allowed this? Clearly not a native Brooklynite!? These are the ubiquitous shitty soft roll bagels. Feh. A bagel is supposed to be crunchy on the outside and soft but dense on the inside. This kind of bagel is a mark of the downfall of Brooklyn! I gave it two stars because the cream cheese was fine. I am deeply disturbed at the NYTIMES!!

Amish P.

Yelp
horrible experience i had july 1st ,placed a order on Saturday for a Monday am dr's meeting on july 1st..order went thru money got deducted on sat, expected everything to be fine on monday am...got a text Sunday saying we cannot fill your order for monday...now what do i do? if i ran my business like that i wouldn't be in business....horrible...

Deirdre K.

Yelp
Food is great, but it's unreal how often they mess up your order. You want a sandwich on a whole wheat bagel and they put it on whole wheat bread. You get regular cream cheese and you somehow walk away with vegan cream cheese. Ask to not toast it, they toast it. It's been consistently like this for years, in person and ordering delivery, that I can confidently say it's never a one off. I feel like anytime I come here or order postmates, its a gamble at what I'm going to get. I really wish they'd do better. I feel like I can't bother anymore.

Bella W.

Yelp
Have slowly been trying all of the local Brooklyn bagel shops, and was hesitant to try Ye Olde because of the low(er) yelp reviews.  Got a takeout order on a Sunday, and was pleasantly surprised by my bagel! I got a whole wheat everything bagel with lox cream cheese. The bagel was seasoned on both sides, (albeit a bit light on the top) and there was a good ratio of cream cheese-to-bagel. The lox spread had a generous amount of fish in it, which is not always the case.  This is definitely a breadier bagel -- it's one of the most doughy bagels I've ever had. This is not ideal if the bagel is anything but fresh, but going during a busy time on a weekend meant that I got a pretty fresh sandwich.  All in all, not the #1 bagel I've had in the area, but definitely not too shabby! Looking forward to coming back to try the zaatar bagel.

Nancy M.

Yelp
The bagels are amazing! Chewy on the inside, and it had a slight crisp on the outside. That's how I like mine, anyway. My BF is from Manhattan, and he grew up eating some of the best bagels New York has to offer, and he said they were absolutely 2 thumbs up! We will definitely be back to try their other flavors!

Semhar M.

Yelp
The salt bagel was a bit too salty but I panicked when ordering and chose the first one I saw so that was on me. First NY bagel. They also put a HEFTY amount of scallion cream cheese on my husband's everything bagel. We'd try other flavors next time.

Desiree F.

Yelp
3 minutes agoNEW They may have good bagels but their service is crap. We placed an order for a dozen bagels and they shorted us 3 bagels. Unfortunately, we didn't catch this bc opening the bag and checking before you leave the shop is virtually impossible with no tables or space to do so, when the shop is packed. We got home and realized their error. Tried calling and you can't get thru. At all. It's cash only and they dont give you a reciept. We will not return.

George M.

Yelp
Really good bagels and nice selection of spreads and toppings. The service was very quick and they are doing a good job during this tough time.

Mohammad F.

Yelp
The bagels are amazing. I have only tried plain bagels with cream cheese and iced coffee. My wife had the latter and everything was great. We will definetly be going here more often. It's been the best we've tried and we have tried many bagel places.

Eli S.

Yelp
Good bagels, mediocre coffee. If you come here on a weekend, expect a long line. The bagels are quite good. The coffee is mediocre.

Ani I.

Yelp
Staff was super sweet, bagel was delicious and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Highly recommend this shoppe

Mark S.

Yelp
Usually it is awesome but I went in there to order a chopped salad, and they said they don't do salads. But the menu on their website shows salad? Felt like my time was wasted. Gah. And now I need to find a salad somewhere. And it is hot out! Thanks a lot, Olde Brooklyn Bagel! I hardly knew ye.

Cylia B.

Yelp
This place feels like home. Long lines, still love it here always consistent- but the coffee sucks
