Elia, a modern Mediterranean restaurant in Wicker Park, is now open | Eater Chicago

"The most recent previous concept to occupy the current Wicker Park space, which the owner says was undone by pandemic pressures and pricing; the proprietor is reluctant to dwell on that failed venture as the site has been gutted and reinvented for the current restaurant." - Ashok Selvam

Lovely place and highly recommended for anyone visiting Fort Lauderdale, FL. I came here for a business meeting and had the chance to try several of their business appetizers, and everything exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. The standout sample plates were the fried artichokes, wings, and falafels — each one delicious and perfectly seasoned. The natural drinks were especially impressive: fresh, refreshing, and very flavorful 😋. The atmosphere was pleasant and professional, making it an excellent place for both business meetings and casual dining. I would definitely return and recommend it without hesitation.

I was excited to try this place for happy hour but ran into a miscommunication that started the evening off poorly. I read online that the outdoor patio was included in happy hour, and the hostess seated us there but our waitress later said it wasn’t. The patio wasn’t even busy, so the situation felt unnecessary and frustrating. Once we moved to another area, we were finally able to order, and the vegetarian options were fresh and delicious. I’d consider coming back if the staff communicated in a more kind and clear manner to ensure a smoother experience.

We had such a wonderful dining experience here! From the moment we sat down, both our server Adriana and the male bartender serving us 8/26 made us feel so welcome. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable—going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Their friendliness and care turned a simple night out into something special. The atmosphere was inviting, the service was outstanding, and we left feeling like valued guests. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and truly exceptional service!

Google
Olive and Sea is undeniably a beautiful restaurant with a stunning setting and atmosphere. The décor, views, and overall vibe make it feel like a special night out from the moment you walk in. Unfortunately, the service really missed the mark during my visit. It was slow, inattentive, and lacked the attention to detail you’d expect from such a nice establishment. While the environment was lovely, the disconnect between the setting and the level of service left me feeling underwhelmed. With some improvements in staff attentiveness and hospitality, this could easily be an incredible dining experience — but for now, it just doesn’t live up to its potential.

I chose dinner at the bar with Brigitte, which was my first great choice. She steered me toward the Hangar Steak and it was the absolute best I've ever had. Seasoned, charred, spiced, perfectly medium rare. And the Fries!!!! So light and creamy inside, equally light and crunchy outside! Wow! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Stephanie D.

Google
What a nice time. If you decide to eat here, I suggest to make reservations for outside. The view is amazing. For an appetizer, I had the charred octopus. I can't rate it because it was my first time trying it. It was a good experience. For entree, I had the salmon with orzo. Perfectly cooked and well seasoned. For dessert I had the chocolate pistachio bread pudding. Absolutely amazing. I love bread pudding and these is definitely top five. Overall a great experience if you like Mediterranean cuisine.

Google
The pros: -Plenty of gluten free options (which is the main reason why we chose this place) -My cocktail (a gin drink) was tasty. My husband's Old Fashioned was alright -The app (falafel) and side (grapes leaves) were good -Our server was good enough The Cons: -Overpriced. While there was price transparency, $39 for a single beef kabobs is bonkers. And call me crazy, because that's what I ordered, which leads me to the next con -Main meals were... meh. My beef kabob was tough, although it was cooked between medium-medium well (I ordered medium). Husband and son appeared to enjoy their hangar steak. Other son did not care for the pork belly, which was pretty bland, and not crispy -The food sits on a counter for the expo to season and run, which seems great in theory because the food is getting one last seasoning and look before being served. However, when several plates of food sit there for minutes before being served, the food tends to get a little luke warm, despite the heating lamps. -20% mandatory gratuity! This policy is listed on the menu, so it was not a surprise, but I am NOT a fan of being told how I should tip. While I most likely would have given our server a 20% tip (as this is mostly my standard), I don't like being auto charged the tip. 3 stars mostly for the gluten free options, which can be sometimes hard to find!

Google
It's a beautiful view from the outdoor seating. The espresso martini was so so, won't order it again. I ordered the hummus trio appetizer, was not impressed. I didn't like it or the baba ganoush. The tzatziki was delicious. I would order it by itself. The chicken was ordinary and the Israeli salad was a garnish not a real salad, mash potatoes were good. I won't eat it again. I am not sure I would eat here again. I have not had anyone check on me since ordering and the person, which wasn't my server, brought my food to me. When the server did make an appearance she was very pleasant.

Yelp
Came here for boyfriend and I's 5 year anniversary and the service was incredible. Immediately our server was super attentive to us and super sweet. The food was really good and overall we had a wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone that's been considering!

Yelp
This indoor and outdoor restaurant is beautifully located next to a big canal and tons of yacht parking. It's warm and welcoming. The service was very good. Cocktails here were exceptional and we also loved their appetizers like the fresh pita bread n hummus or fried artichoke. The burrata fig salad with hangar steak is fabulous. Their pizzas were big and filling. The chicken skewers were tasty. This is a good Mediterranean fusion restaurant.

Yelp
Went here for a late lunch/ early dinner. However only happy hour was available. We ordered a few items and cocktails. Limited happy hours for me, but the small plates were yummy. The chef was tasked with making a surprise for me and I was pleasantly impressed with his creation. The overall aesthetics were lovely. I enjoyed the open and large wall windows. It was too hot and humid to sit outside, but I would like to return to experience it. The staff were attentive and friendly. I enjoyed my experience here.

Yelp
Olive & Sea @oliveandsea Ft. Lauderdale, FL Beautiful restaurant with amazing views! We all enjoyed our meals. Nice service. The falafel and the flat bread pizza were so good to me! Loved the Hibiscus Martini as well! Have you been here yet? #OliveAndSea #FortLauderdale #MediterraneanCuisine #WaterfrontDining #RooftopDining #Marina#Dinner #LetsDrinkz #EatzWithSweetz #LetsEatz

Yelp
Fort Lauderdale (Hilton Hotel @ the Marina) I can't speak to their food other than the dessert, which was rich & yummy. We came in for a couple of drinks and to sit at the bar to watch it rain. We are staying here at the hotel and decided to check out the area. Our bartender was a sweetheart. We got there at happy hour and had a couple of old-fashioneds. Those were delicious. We tried the chocolate crunch cake and it was perfection!

Yelp
Taking time away from the event for a nice dinner can be difficult. Busy all day from before the sun comes up till after the sun sets. Normally, most would simply head back to the hotel and flop in bed. However, once the event is over, you really don't care how tired you are or how sticky you may be from the humidity. A nice dinner is your reward for making it thru the week still walking and breathing. The treat, Olive & Sea! They are located in the Hilton hotel along the waterfront on the second level and have a private entrance and valet available. We started with the Crispy Pita Salad. Amazing! It has a light dressing that perfectly dresses the greens. The pita chips offer a great crunchy contrast to any bite. Julie enjoyed the faroe island salmon that was served on a bed of orzo. I tried the half roasted chicken. Each was prepared perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The chicken melted off the bone yet each bite was tender and moist. After sunset, the views are spectacular with shimmering lights from across the water shining down. We were disappointed that an automatic 20% service fee is applied to every check. Sadly, the service on a second visit didn't match that fee. A great spot for a nice night out. Keep on Yelp'n!

Yelp
Food: 9/10, everything we had was absolutely delicious. The menu is compact but covers everything from fish, steak, to vegetarian dishes. GET THE CRISPY PITA SALAD (big enough to share too) Ambiance: 8/10, very pretty and appropriately lit. Great for family, date night, even solo night out. Service: 9/10, it's not a big restaurant, so book a reservation. Since it's not big the staff is not grand but there's an efficient team of hostess, your waiter/waitress and food runners.

Mario A.

Yelp
Ambiance is great, friendly atmosphere. Food is ok, tasty, but WAY overpriced. Service, MEH. Waitress was friendly, but terribly forgetful. She forgot our order of olives ($8), only to bring it after we had finished our bread & hummus, then forgot my wife's drink, but brought it out after reminding her 20 mins later. When the bill came, they charged for both "forgotten items (didn't expect them free), but then we were charged 20% gratuity - before taxes - which means we were charged 20% on food, drinks and gratuity. Total $204 for 1 lamb meatball skewer, 1 pizza, 1 bread with hummus and a few olives. Won't be returning. Ever.

Yelp
TLDR - Great date night spot! Super chill relaxing ambience, amazing views and food was excellent - plus plus free valet - Restaurant is on the 2nd floor via elevator - Heads up - 20% gratuity is already included on all checks I had this place bookmarked in my Date Night Collection for at least a year! My boss coincidentally came here last weekend and told me about it - I was like ohhh! I've been wanting to go there! I made a reservation via their website (open table link) for a 5pm seating and put outdoors in my request. Upon arrival in the parking lot, we went sure where to park so I asked the hotel valet and they pointed out that the restaurant valet was just east of their entrance so we did a quick turnaround and sure enough there it was. Imagine my surprise when they told me it was free! We handed over the keys and made our way to the doors - and then to the elevator to the 2nd floor which opens up right to the restaurant lobby - We were seated promptly at a great table with a beautiful view! Our server was very nice - For the life of me, I can't remember her name but I believe it was something like Elena? She took our drink order and a few minutes later our appetizer order - We continued to enjoy our meal, ordering add'l drinks and our entrees. Apps Charred Octopus - he enjoyed but said it was a bit dry Halloumi - delish dips and cracker bread - very good Entrees Faroed Salmon with orzo - he liked this a lot Fried Artichokes - so good - This is an app but I had it as my meal with a side of the Za'atar fries Za'atar Fried - these were so good! Dessert bread pudding with pistachio ice cream - pretty good:) We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Our server want as bland as vanilla . She never brought me my salt only pepper . The food needed seasoning! The ceviche was not as expected, shrimp were whole unlike Mexican ceviche. The pizza was large but not delicious, it lacked flavor . The ambience was stale . The chair they first sat me in was like a banquet chair so horrible we moved tables ? The whole place is just uninviting w the fake plants and the raw ceiling . Hilton can do so much better ? The tables are cheesy needed table cloths . The silverware looked dull and cheap. I hated our experience.

Yelp
The scenic water view is the best thing about this Mediterranean restaurant located in the Hilton Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. The vibrant rooftop on the second floor offers captivating intracoastal views. We shared the Olive & Sea Salad $19 and the Fig and Goat Cheese Pizza $22. It was fine but looking for a more gourmet pizza with more figs. Service was great. Free valet.
google avatar

Yelp
The best Mediterranean food I had in south Florida. Got to sample many different dishes. The portion on size is small. We had a private room at this restaurant. They accommodated 10 people. Service was wonderful. Menu options were great. The location is beautiful. They have outdoor and indoor seatings.
google avatar

Yelp
Olive & Sea was pretty much what you expect of from a hotel restaurant. The food was decent- the octopus was actually surprisingly good. The baba ghanoush was great but I've had better hummus and labneh. The lamb was just ok. Presentation is beautiful. Service was great, wine pours generous, gratuity included, and complementary valet parking. The ambiance was lovely. Overall I would happily come back.

Yelp
This Fort Lauderdale Hilton Hotel hosts a high-end intracoastal restaurant/bar called Olive & Sea with gigantic yachts as a backdrop. We consumed vodka cocktails and happy hour Blue Moon beers on draft for $6.00. The happy hour food options sounded delicious, each for $7 - $14 which included Moroccan Carrots, Spicy Chicken Schnitzel, Watermelon & Feta Mezze and Smoked Eggplant. The open viewable kitchen had a pizza oven and vibrant foods on display. This location was one of the many water taxi stops on our Ft Lauderdale/Hollywood adventure. The clean bathroom continued the ultra modern beachy theme with green tree wall paper.

Yelp
I recently visited this bar during a work trip and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with the bartender named Serena. From the start, Serena attitude was off-putting--she was dismissive and seemed uninterested in engaging with customers. On top of that, there was no mention that gratuity was already added to our bill, which left me feeling misled when I went to leave an additional tip. Overall, the lack of customer service and attention to detail made for a very unpleasant visit. HOWEVER I AM giving special credit to Maria she was our server outside on the balcony!!! Who saved the night! She immediately welcomed our group! She was warm and friendly!

Yelp
My wife and I came for our 2-year anniversary, and we were both excited to try this restaurant. Upon entering, the front of the house was very nice and hospitable. We asked if we could be seated outside since the views were amazing. She told us it would be a little wait since there were customers still sitting at the table. We waited for about 30 minutes to be seated. I do want to clarify this was no one's fault; it was just customers that did not want to leave. The front of the house told us we could be seated inside until the other customers left. We had no problem with that, and she was so great in also comping our appetizers for our wait. Once we sat down, our indoor waitress was very rude and snarky. She took our drinks and left without taking our order for appetizers and didn't even welcome us. It was quite rude. Five minutes later, the front of the house was able to get our table outside. This was totally worth the wait. She is the real MVP and deserves a raise. Our new waitress (outside) was so sweet and delivered a service that was off the charts. She gave us some champagne to celebrate our anniversary and was always attentive to us for everything. We started with the charred octopus, garlic labneh, green olive tapenade, crispy potatoes, which was soo good. The green olive tapenade made that dish. 9/10 My wife had the pan-roasted red snapper, squash puree, arak fennel broth, which she loved in every way possible. The snapper felt fresh and tender; it was cooked to perfection. I had the half-roasted chicken, Israeli salad, za'atar fries, and I dare say this was a top 5 dish I have ever had. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Very well seasoned and so tender and juicy. The Israeli salad was so fresh and yummy. But the cherry on top was the fries. I'm not kidding--these fries paired with the sauce was out-of-this-world good. I initially thought this would taste like regular potato wedges; however, the seasoning was so good, I highly recommend this. Lastly, the dessert was perfect! We shared the pistachio cheesecake, date syrup. 100/10--no words; you need to try this immediately. If you want great views, nice service, and great Mediterranean food, this is the place to go. I will say it is on the pricey side; however, it's well worth it.

Yelp
I was very surprised and happy with my meals compared to all the reviews previously posted. I had the Octopus for an appetizer, I did find it a bit over priced for two pieces. But still very tender and tasty. I then shared the Bronzino with the Cauliflower side, both were excellent and I would highly recommend. The venue is really pretty. Nicely decorated inside with a great view of the water. I would have preferred to sit outside, noted for next time. As for the service.... My server was ok. This review did not get 5 stars because my first impression at the door was the hostess who was not welcoming and seemed unhappy to be there. Do better at the entrance, it's literally your first impression to the guest.
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
As soon as we got off the water taxi we walked into the Hilton Hotel and into an elevator to the next floor. The doors opened to a fancy busy restaurant with a spectacular view of the Ft Laud intracoastal. Mega yachts lined the calm waters. We took a seat at the bar with a direct view of the water. I ordered my normal Aperol Spritz and my friend got a vodka on the rocks. The bartender was friendly but very busy and the bar back gave us some feedback on the restaurant. All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked delish and were plated beautifully. Love the name Olive & Sea - it says it all. Lovely place but pricey, but perfect for a special event.

Yelp
We couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate my father's birthday! This is one of our favorite restaurants in the Fort Lauderdale area, and once again, it did not disappoint. From the stunning view to the delicious food and outstanding service from Alina, everything made for a perfect evening. Alina went above and beyond to ensure our dinner was exceptional, and we were fortunate to have her as our waitress. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
Come on!!!! You guys literally have a beautiful terrace overlooking the river with a nice breeze and lovely furniture.... Why did you have to ruin the experience by overwhelming every single dish with so much crap?!!! There were literally so many ingredients thrown on top of the harissa cauliflower that you couldn't even taste the cauliflower anymore. And who decided to make it sweet.??? that's unheard of. Then you get to the deliciously prepared sliced steak or lamb skewers, and they are sitting in oil. The worst thing was the soupy spinach, which was listed on the menu as sautéed spinach, I could not have even passed itself off as cream spinach because it was swimming in so much liquid. Have a look at my photos for yourself. Other than the harissa, the side accompaniments were also over flavored. I've never had a hummus that tasted like it had something else blended into it like maybe a feta cheese??.... My mouth was so confused and my stomach was aching from the oils. I'm a person who loves heavy creamy, savory even oily food. As a matter of fact, it's all the kind of stuff that I prefer. However, this restaurant just does it all wrong. It's so sad because the people are nice, but the food just gives off a wannabe vibe. On a positive note I will say that the lamb skewer was absolutely delicious and well prepared. It's the only thing that did not have 1 million things sprinkled on top or swimming around it.
google avatar

Chelsa D.

Yelp
Food was so great! The restaurant is very beautiful with a great view! The customer service on the other hand. Had it been a lot busier it would have been understandable however it wasn't and the bar staff was horrible! Although the guy sitting right next to me received great service, it seems as if I didn't even exist sitting there. I just wanted food and a drink as everyone else. But it took forever to even get asked did I want or need anything. But once I did finally get to order, my food was great and my wine as well. It just made me not want to order anything else and leave unfortunately.

Yelp
On a recommendation from a local constable I found myself eagerly anticipating a meal at Olive & Sea. Nestled into the Hilton on the second floor, I found my way to the bar. This is both a classily and casual restaurant. I could imagine frequenting this place for an intimate date or with a group of friends after a long trip to Ft. Lauderdale. I was treated like a prince by Juan and offered several recommendations; however, the roasted half chicken topped the list. If you're having a dilemma, order the chicken. It was moist, flavorful, and the perfect size to satisfy the empty place in your tummy. It was an added touch to have Bambi and Gregory check on me (that's a class act). Overall, truly enjoyed my experience at Olive & Sea.

Yelp
I finally knocked a new restaurant off my to do list and had a very enjoyable meal at Olive & Sea in Fort Lauderdale. For starters, the place is absolutely gorgeous with a great vibe and beautiful ambiance. It would certainly make for a great date night spot. The service was exceptional. Our server was very attentive, informative, and very friendly. We started with the red pepper hummus, which had a nice kick to it and was served with the most deliciously fresh, warm, soft, pita bread I think I've ever had in my life. We also tried the traditional Greek Salad, which was simple but fresh and very good. For entrees we got the swordfish skewer (sorry, not pictured) and the Branzino, served with a side of cous cous. Both were fabulous, although if I had one minor complaint, I would say that the portions were fairly small. But that's where dessert came in to top off of the meal, which consisted of a chocolate bobka cake topped with pistachio ice cream. Ironically, I'm not a fan of bobka or pistachio, yet this was still delicious and we wound up only eating half of it. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I look forward to a second visit in the near future.

Yelp
This place was absolutely wonderful! We came on a double date here and both the food and the views were fantastic. Highly recommend for a nice date night, birthday celebration or just an enjoyable night out. We will certainly be back again!

Yelp
Went to a craft cocktail event sponsored by Botanist Gin. It wasn't even set up At the appointed 6pm time to start, the staff was clueless and not very inviting. Welcoming? NO We left. Sorry to have wasted time before our appointed time to meet colleagues at another venue. Totally disappointed in how this was handled.

Yelp
Five stars for ambiance, and view. The rooftop view is beautiful at night and a must for dining on the balcony. We did not eat here, we came to see the menu for the future. The hostess was welcoming and provided the history on the restaurant. The restrooms were clean and maintained. There is valet parking or self parking. There is a full bar as well. Will definitely be back. The food looked amazing. K-

Yelp
OLive & Sea is the full package, location, views, service, quality, and ambience, without the overhyped vibe of other trendy spots. Great for birthdays, team dinners, date nights, or happy hour. You can dress up or down and still feel comfortable. Ask for Maria, she's the sweetest server and makes you feel right at home. And their spreads? I've never tasted hummus, baba ghanoush, or tzatziki this good anywhere else! Entrées are fresh and delicious, and the pistachio gelato is the perfect ending. Prices are very reasonable for the experience. My only wish? That they'd bring back the branzino!!

Yelp
Initially the evening got off to a bad start, the host did not appear friendly and I had to initiate the conversation upon entering the restaurant. Our reservation through opentable also did not appear in their system. Luckily they weren't that busy and finding a table we liked was not a problem. Our waitress was very friendly and made us feel right at home. Unfortunately they did not have the ingredients for the Red Sea drink that my wife wanted, however she was very happy with the other options. If you are looking for a crispy white wine the Assyrtiko is amazing. The food was delicious and presentation was flawless! I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I would easily have given a 5 star if not for the host, reservation issue and unavailable ingredients for the drink my wife initially wanted. Music on the inside appeared to not overpower conversations, we sat outside which we found very comfortable.

Yelp
Olive & Sea is a must-visit in Fort Lauderdale if you'd enjoy a rooftop setting with stunning views of the Intracoastal... a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. The Mediterranean-inspired menu is exceptional--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Service was top-notch, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who made the experience even better. For delicious food and incredible ambiance, Olive & Sea is the place to go.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, great service and good Mediterranean cuisine. The charred octopus was excellent as an appetizer and the Mediterranean Old Fashioned was top notch. Nice view of the intracoastal too. It gets busy on weekends, so reservations are recommended. There is no self parking option, but valet is complementary.
google avatar

Melissa R.

Yelp
Olive and Sea is located in the Hilton and has a view of the luxury yachts and drawbridge if you're lucky enough to sit outside. There is also free valet parking. We had asked to sit outdoors on their upper balcony and didn't mind waiting for an outdoor table to open up despite our 7:45 reservation. We decided to have cocktails at the bar while we were waiting (which were delicious although filled to the brim with ice) and then sat outside to admire the view. When a table opened up which still hadn't been cleaned, one of the hostesses kindly went outside to clean it herself. The menu is interesting, and we loved the Mediterranean vibe. The problem unfortunately happened after we ordered. Two other parties were seated well after us but the oblivious food runner brought our appetizer (3 spreads and pita bread) to one of those tables within 10 minutes of them sitting down. Our server later acknowledged that was what had happened but never offered a solution or to make amends. We didn't receive our appetizer until nearly an hour later. Meanwhile, no one from the restaurant came to check on us. We saw a manager stop at a nearby table, but he didn't even look in our direction. As we started to enjoy our appetizer, our entrees were delivered just minutes later while we were still eating our first course with no realization, apology, or anything out of the ordinary. When we spoke to the manager/sous chef at the end of the night who said his name was Jair, all he said was come back and see me so I can take care of you next time. We live thousands of miles away and told him so, and he had no response. What a joke!

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in the hotel!!!! The atmosphere is so asthetic I was blown away how gorgeous it was walking in. Worth going for the happy hour & the food was simply the best. The bartender there I wish I remembered his name, he made some of the best drinks.

Yelp
Had been wanting to stop here for a while and so happy I finally got to!! Parking was easy and not far of a walk. It's on the second floor of the hotel with a balcony overlooking the intercoastal. Ambiance was beautiful! Very welcoming and comfortable. We were greeted immediately by the friendly hostess and sat at a table. Unfortunately, they weren't seating anyone on the balcony at the time because of potential weather. We ordered an espresso martini to start which was really yummy! We decided to split the spreads and mezze because it all sounded so good we couldn't even pick our top 3. Everything was fresh and delicious!! It was definitely too much food for 2 people but I'm glad i got to try it all! Even though they weren't seating people outside for dinner service you could still grab a glass of wine at the bar and sit outside so we did that after dinner. I would love to come back again to try more of their dishes.
google avatar

Katie G.

Yelp
The location and decor are nice, but this place did not meet my standards. It took about 15 minutes to get our cocktails and the restaurant wasn't even packed. The portions are small. They did not refill water glasses in a timely manner. For how many good restaurants there are in this area, I won't be returning. Not impressed.

Yelp
Okay, so this is a hotel restaurant. Who ever expects a hotel restaurant to be extremely high end unless in certain areas like Vegas? Well, this restaurant deserves 10 stars! I really am not sure how many times I have eaten here now, but I highly recommend getting reservations beforehand because it is so booked with locals! The first time I ate here was probably 2 years ago and I got the sampler, flat price, multiple course selection, which is the best way to go the first time you dine here. Be prepared, it's a ton of different breads, hummus, spreads, skewers, sides, olives, cheeses... I can't even remember all that I had, but it's the best way to try all of their flavors from the Mediterranean! Now I am trying specific items on the menu. I really wanted a salad, bc they all looked so delicious, but I knew there was no way I would be able to eat everything. I decided to go with a flatbread with Kibbeh beef which is famous from Lebanon. Just amazing flavors, fresh ingredients, the bread is delicious (and I am not a huge fan of bread). Now, the best of all- you have to order the BRANZINO! It's the best I have ever had and the couscous that accompanies it is a perfect combination! The skin is crisp and the fish is done perfectly! Both of these dishes I will DEFINITELY order again. The only thing I will do differently is I will add a salad in as well next time I'm here on business! If you're local, go now! If you're coming here on business and staying at this Hilton you are at the perfect location for a restaurant! Congratulations Chef on delivering an amazing meal!

Dinner with a view of the water with my sister and daughter, Olive and Sea did not disappoint. We opted to sit outside and it was perfect. Our meals were delish. Only complaint was that the fish and shrimps were a little overcooked but tasty nonetheless. Service was great as our waitress was very attentive. They do offer complimentary valet which was nice. Would we return? Certainly.

Yelp
Came in tonight with 2 others and really enjoyed everything. Very clean and elegant place on the water. Our server Maria was attentive and gave guidance through the menu. Walked us along the way. My two friends had been there before, I had not so Maria was helpful for me. Ordering a few appetizer's, entrees and sides to share is definitely the move. The manager Demetrius also checked in on us during and after the meal and was very nice. Greek salad, Tzatziki spread with pita and beef kibbah pizza is what we started with. We also ordered the lamb and chicken skewer, and added a side of the harissa cauliflower and jasmine rice. Lamb skewer was definitely my favorite, but everything was great. We're happy to come back soon! Thank you!

Yelp
We enjoyed our dinner at Olive & Sea! To start, the restaurant is gorgeous. Beautiful views of the intercoastal and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is a little tricky, but there is valet parking and I believe it is complementary. We started out our meal with the Red Sea (not pictured), Mediterranean Old Fashioned (not pictured), and Hummus and Pita. The portions were a little small, but it was still a tasty starter. The pita was truly delicious and came out warm. I only wish we had more if it! Both cocktails were refreshing and tasty. We both had a skewer for our main course. We chose the Shawarma Spiced Beef and the Za'atar Garlic Chicken. The chicken was extremely tender and had good flavor. The beef was decent, but was a little overdone. My husband did acknowledge that he should have perhaps ordered it to be medium rare and that would have helped. We were a little disappointed with the dipping sauces. While the spiced tomato sauce, tehina, and coriander-chili relish were flavorful, they didn't quite hit the mark for us. We ordered two sides, the harissa roasted cauliflower and the za'atar fries. Both were good, but could have been a little warmer when they came out. The garlic mayo that came with the fries was absolutely delicious. For dessert we ordered the dark chocolate babka bread pudding and pistachio gelato. This was very tasty and not too sweet which was great. Overall we had a nice night!

Yelp
This place was so pretty inside! Lovely atmosphere and decor. The service was amazing. Our server was so sweet and attentive. The food was great but the portions were small. It was also a little pricey for the portion sizes. Our favorites were the Crudo, the mezze platter (had to order 2), and the Branzino which is filleted with no bones. The drinks were also super tasty. I'd recommend this if you're looking for a Mediterranean option in the area!

Yelp
We are Fort Lauderdale residents and were excited to try someplace new to us. The view is great, unfortunately, that is the only great thing Olive and Sea has to offer. We arrived early for our 8:00 PM reservation, so we decided to have a drink at the bar. The bartender was congenial, and the service was prompt. We had a glass of house wine ($15) and an Aperol Spritz ($22); the tab included a 20% gratuity! $47 for 2 drinks! We were seated at an outdoor table at 8:00 PM. At 8:25, my dinner companion went to the hostess stand to request a waitress. A waitress, who told us she was not our server, arrived at our table at 8:30 to take our order. We ordered from the Dine Out Lauderdale menu. We requested the salmon entree, and were told they were out of salmon and would be replacing it with sea bass. So, we ordered one burger and one sea bass. Two salads arrived promptly. We had ordered one salad and one falafel. They later brought an order of falafel with a generous amount of cayenne pepper sprinkled on top, masking any flavor and making them inedible. Fifteen minutes later, our tepid white wine arrived in glasses, dripping with condensation. When our entrees arrived, it was salmon, not sea bass. The burger and fries were good, and so was the salmon. The new potatoes were undercooked. The dessert choices were pistachio gelato and baklava. We ordered one of each. The gelato was vanilla with chopped pistachios on top, not pistachio gelato. The waitress brought us soup spoons to eat our dessert. She delivered one fork, no knife - the crust was too hard to cut with a fork, the waitress was nowhere to be found, so we ended up scraping the crust to taste it. Under NO circumstances would I ever recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
You are paying for the ambience and location. Food is okay. Service not worth the automatic gratuity added. We ordered the $50 pp app, skewers and dessert. There were 5 people in our group. Food received was NOT servings for 5 people. First and last visit

Yelp
Great environment and food! Adriana was the best server and made our experience top tier from our first interaction. She constantly checked on us and made sure we had plenty to drink and made great recommendations for both our food and drinks! 10/10 would recommend and ask for her!

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel for the night, so what better than to try out their new restaurant. It was Friday, there's a boat show, and some office event! Definitely wasn't prepared for it and didn't RSVP, so we waited. It was about an hour wait, but we were in a hurry. People watching is fun. When we were seated, we immediately knew what to order (since we did have an hour to look at the menu). The waitress was attentive and gave us the specials. Everything sounded it and we order a lot of food for the two of us. We had the grilled octopus (which is a must have!) and the Olive & Sea salad (not that great). The salad was a bit underwhelmed. It was more like a small cabbage cut in quarters, sprinkled some dates and walnuts with their house dressing and called it a day. Other the contrary, the grilled octopus was delicious! It was tender and flavorful, grilled to perfection! The whole branzino sounded very appetizing pairing it with couscous, so I ordered it while my friend ordered the snapper. The dishes were enormous!! I chowed down the whole entire plate with an exception some couscous left. My stomach couldn't handle it anymore. The snapper disappeared off my friend's plate as well. She had bigger storage than me, lol. We were going to top it off with some dessert, but I had to make sure I was able to digest everything that I've eaten! One of the main hostess came by to check on us and apologized for the wait. Small talk here and there, but it was nice for her to make sure everything was ok. Would definitely come back whenever in Ft. Lauderdale.

Yelp
We went on a weeknight during happy hour. They only honor the happy hour at the bar or the large communal side table. We found chairs at the bar. We ordered multiple items off the happy hour menu. The only food item that wowed me was the fig pizza. Everything else we tasted was meh. The bar is poorly designed and doesn't allow it to be open to the outside which has an amazing view. The bar counter is too deep for bar tenders to serve guests outside. Valet was complimentary.

Yelp
We made same day reservations online for a party of 4 plus a baby for Saturday at 5pm. We tried calling to see if we can arrive at 4pm but no one answered. We arrived at 4pm and they had happy hour indoor and outside. The outdoor area was beautiful overlooking the river and even had TVs with the college games on. It was very windy so we chose to sit at the bar until 5pm when the restaurant opens for dining. At the bar, we had great service, ordered HH wine which was great and the appetizer trio for $10. Everything was tasty! At 5pm. We got seated at our table not far from the bar and we ordered all the food to share. We ordered 2 charred octopus, which was great because the boys had their own and the girls had their own. It was worth getting too! It was cooked perfectly and was tender to chew. We also ordered the chicken & steak kabob that brings 3 dipping sauces, and they were seasoned well and cooked just right. Both were moist and full of flavor. The 4 of us shared the Branzino for 2 that came on a bed couscous and small roasted carrots. It was grilled to perfection and had a great blend of spices. Lastly, added 2 sides, the cauliflower and spinach. Both were unexpected in how they were cooked but both were amazing! Overall, phenomenal food, decent price, nice to share, lovely ambiance and amazing service.

Yelp
What a pleasant meal at Olive and Sea. I wanted a restaurant with a view for a date night and came across Olive & Sea on Yelp. Key observations, restaurant is located inside the hotel, there is self and valet parking and the views of the water are great. I would say in hindsight it's a better brunch place because during the day the views I would bet are much better. The bar is limited, there isn't a large selection of scotch's, bourbons or tequila which is what we like but they have some premium brands that get the job done. The service was amazing, very attentive, kind and hospitable. The restaurant itself is very nice. Its atmosphere works for a casual setting during the day and night and if you want to wear slacks and a long sleeve, it fits the mood/mold as well. We ordered several items off the menu, the octopus was amazing. Fantastic texture and flavor which is important with octopus you don't want it to taste like a rubber band. I'll admit the wahoo crudo wasn't my flavor. I've had wahoo plenty of times, and the texture and flavor for my wife and I were off. Little too acidity and rough. The ras spiced lamb, sensational, cooked perfectly, great flavor, juicy and tender. My wife ordered the Gulf Snapper, wow! Flaky, flavorful, you can tell it was fresh it didn't have that thawed and frozen after taste fish have. The jeweled rice paired perfectly, all around banger dish! I ordered by lamb with the jeweled rice, great flavor, perfect combination of grain, nut, and spice. I love it when rice is soft but with a small crunch, that's where the pistachios and pine nuts come in. Fantastic experience, I'd love to come back for brunch.

Yelp
Not only does this place have a great atmosphere and amazing DJs playing all our favorite 80's while we watch beautiful boats sail by. Unlike Maimi, there was not one fly in sight buzzing around my food! The intercostal views are so beautiful, chill and I felt like I was on vacation sitting on the patio. The food is so fresh and cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the staff are so so nice. I've been coming here every day while staying at the Hilton and it's been such an incredible experience every day. My waiter, Maria is so attentive and sweet. I actually left my YSL purse there and she tried to find me but I had already left. And so I believe she left it for the security and I got everything back to include the $50 bill that was inside. Not only did Maria go out of her way to try to find me after I had already left, she reached out to me on Yelp even though I did not have a review up yet lol. How amazing is that and where else can you find this type of service? Thank you so much for the amazing service and food Maria! You're a rare one
