We were served inedible steaks, and punished for it.
The initial manager tried to assert that the color I saw was normal for a rare steak (I ordered medium rare but this isn’t the crux of this issue), to which I objected as I have eaten steak before in my life.
She then tried to coerce me into buying another entree because she didn’t want to comp my meal despite my having eaten NONE of the food. I did not want a new dish because after taking 1 bite of my steak, then inspecting the color upon noticing the texture was disgusting, I lost my appetite because I was worried I had eaten rancid meat.
Despite my explaining this, the manager still was adamant about me buying a new plate of food, and in fact, walked away and forced the sever to give us a menu without even TELLING US she wasn’t going to comp the meal. Absolute cowardice!! It wasn’t until my server, Roz, went and advocated on our behalf that another manager, Von, came over.
Von, was very kind, understanding and professional, so much so, that it shocks me that the first manager I spoke with is his superior.
Whomever this manager was, speaking to me like some kind of penny pinching liar around 330pm on 02/09/25 needs to be reprimanded and reminded the importance of food safety. Especially when she wants to be pushy about not refunding me and demanding that I order a new meal.
That behavior is unacceptable, unprofessional, brash, immature, and speaks to a lack of character. She didn’t even cook it why is she taking it so personally? Get her off the floor if she can’t handle complaints. Roz has been working at Olive Garden on the floor for only 4 days as a server, and had more decorum, composure, and resolve over a situation she couldn’t control compared to what is supposedly her manager.
If not for the patience and helpful assistance of Roz and Von, I would not have paid a single cent of that check, I would have left and I would have been in the right for doing so.
