This was the worst service I’ve ever had. I always tip, usually 25-30% when I go out to eat but this was the first time I didn’t tip at all. I spent $75 on an average meal. Endless dipping sauce, 3 entrees that came with an endless soup or salad. Except nothing was endless. Our waitress disappeared for 30+ minutes multiple times. We didn’t get refills on drinks, and had to ask other members of the wait staff for refills and boxes. We asked our initial waitress multiple times for things like more bread, more soup, more of the dipping sauce and she would say “of course” in an evidently insincere tone, and never return with our items. I eventually grabbed a manager for some help, and he blew me off completely, had someone else bring me a drink refill, and didn’t bring our boxes. I could see our waitress gossiping with coworkers in the beverage area doorway. It wasn’t even that busy! There were at least 10 members of the wait staff on duty, and it’s a Tuesday. I’ve never had an experience quite this bad at an Olive Garden before, and I usually visit the one in whitemarsh. The food was fine, the salad I got had old, discolored lettuce, and the water tasted like their filter needs to be replaced. There were children screaming, and multiple times staff members walked away to sing happy birthday without asking us if we needed anything. After we finished eating, I waited for about 10 minutes before I paid the bill and waited another 5-10 minutes for someone to ask if we needed boxes before I had to wave down a staff member. If this was a weekend, or they had been exceptionally busy, or our party was large, I would have understood. We probably should’ve walked out when we first got there and heard surrounding tables asking their waitress where their food and beverage refills were. This is really disappointing, and I’m not sure I’ll be back to visit another Olive Garden any time soon because of this experience.
