Olive Tree Overland Park Kansas Winter Conditions The store is clean and well lit with a cozy vibe. We have used the products for several years. I took a few pictures for this review and the owner? came unglued. If the owner was friendly and understood people are going to take pictures and do reviews this would be a 5 star review , but her attitude knocks 3 stars off the review. By me ..., I thank you for your comments , however you didn’t simply asked - you were very disturbed. Your voice and actions of attempting to block pictures/ videos weren’t simple questions. By me Added after owner comments- I’m sure your a nice person - just remember customers are always watching Photography on private property that is generally open to the public is usually permitted unless explicitly prohibited by posted signs.

Lovely store and great staff! Wonderful place to find unique gifts! They recently added personalized gifts such as cutting boards, spatulas, pocket knives, recipe boxes, and more that you can have custom engraved in-store!

Olive Tree is my go-to for gifts! All the holiday gifts I got there were a big hit. Everyone in the store is always so attentive and takes the time help find the perfect gift. I make my own vinaigrette for salads and love the suggested combinations of oils and vinegars - pairings I wouldn't have thought of but are very tasty. Love this place!

I'm a huge Olive Tree fan! I love the red wine vinegar so much I always have a backup bottle...just in case. Great selection, fun classes and super friendly customer service. Added Bonus - I always have a few of the mini oil/vinegar combo packs tucked away for hostess gifts. They are always a hit!

Not only oils & vinegar - so many unique kitchen items, ingredients and gifting ideas. Staff was wonderful to help me and point out wonderful things I might have missed otherwise.

Olive Tree is a fabulous shop to go in and buy a housewarming gift or a little something for your kitchen. They have such a variety of things to choose from always and the olive oils are wonderful. You have to visit this place when you are in Kansas City! Joy Davis

I love coming to Olive Tree. My entire family is addicted to their oils and vinegars. By far this is the best in the city for gourmet finds and beautiful gifts for your foodie friends. The best part about going to Olive Tree is their knowledgeable and helpful staff. The owner is great too!! On my last visit, there was a cooking demonstration. WOW! They have a whole kitchen. I learned so much from the 10 minutes I watched. Now I’m going to start taking some of their amazing looking cooking classes. Thanks Olive Tree for providing an excellent local shopping experience.

The Olive Tree is my "go to"! Being new to cooking, the staff has always been helpful and knowledgeable so that I make informed purchases for the best results. I can truly taste the quality of their product. Not only do I enjoy their store for cooking ingredients and tools, it is perfect for hostess gifts and cooking classes. There is a ton of variety and I love that there is a focus on local items as well. I can never seem to make it out without buying something new to try! Cannot say enough good things.

Wonderful, wide variety of vinegars (special focus on balsamics) and olive oils, and all sorts of gourmet foods, condiments, herbs & spices, spreads, dipping blends, kitchen accessories, and gift boxes. They also host various cooking classes, and if you go to their calendar or the "pick-up food" section on their site, the owner sells tasty, home-cooked meals every Tuesday + baked breads on Friday (lately, it's been dinner rolls, challah bread, and cinnamon roles) that you can pre-order and pick-up in-store. Great local find.

My first thought upon entering was "where are the bread cubes, how am I supposed to taste oils & vinegars without bread cubes?" And then I learned. Oh boy did I learn! I saw a woman pour a little bit of vinegar into a little paper cup and sip it straight, so in true monkey-see-monkey-do fashion I did the same. My first taste was the White Peach Balsamic. Forget everything you know about balsamic vinegar, stuff this good is on a different plane of existence altogether. Wow! So syrupy and brightly flavored I now understood the glaring lack of bread cubes. Who needs them? The White Peach was like jam. I was instantly thinking of pouring it over ice cream, or ... ? It turned my world upside down. My budget permitted a purchase of just one bottle this trip, but you can rest assured I will be coming back to add to my collection. If you're curious, I chose the Lime Jalepeno Balsamic as my first bottle. All I add is a little oil, salt & pepper and I have a salad dressing that knocks my socks off!

I just love the Olive Tree's assorted gift boxes this time of year. I can't cook worth a lick, but I love giving their flavored oils & vinegars as gifts to those that can in hopes I'll get invited over one day. Being able to sample the product is great. It's like test driving a car before you take it home. I want to spend my money wisely, so being able to sample the oils prevents me from giving a lemon to the ones I love.

I love Olive Tree. Perfect spot for picking a Hostess gift. The quality of the infused oils and balsamic vinegars are unparalleled. I can always find something new and interesting and delicious!

My friend and I took a macaron class taught by JC Gregg and we were very disappointed. The class was $55 per person and you didn't make a single thing. You were given a packet with the recipes and got to try some of his macarons but it was JUST A DEMO. Each person got to pipe a few macarons but you were not involved in the process of making them. We sat at tables watching the tv screen in front of us of what he was doing. It felt like all he wanted to do was brag about himself and how he was on tv (for two episodes). He would just talk and add stuff to the mixing bowls but not tell us what he was going. He showed the classic method and "his" method but his didn't seem to work. Very disappointed and absolutely NOT WORTH THE MONEY.

I wouldn't have known this store existed if it wasn't for Groupon. I had always gone to The Tasteful Olive in downtown OP for oils and vinegar before. This store is smaller than TTO, but I think the service is better here. I always feel like the people who work in the other store are following me around. They have a nice selection of accompaniments for your oil purchase and sell other local KC food products as well. I bought a bottle of lemon olive oil and a delicious cherry balsamic for Christmas gifts, then picked up a couple of locally made hot sauces as well. I really liked the people who work there. They were attentive, but not overbearing and seemed like the type of small business owners who are generally glad to interact with the public and inform their customers about what the store offers. I'll be coming back to this store in the future instead of downtown OP. Smaller store, but friendlier service.

Can't help but love their selection and service! Take your time when you visit--ask questions and try crazy combinations. We can't help but use their products in most any meal at home.

Wonderful products, gorgeous store. I use Olive Tree's vinegars and oils on an almost daily basis. There are so many different flavors that, using the same ingredients, I can completely change the dynamic of the dish or meal by using different oils and vinegars with it. ... In fact, I'm confident in saying that Olive Tree has significantly improved my ability to cook. Thank you!

Wow, just read the reviews and I agree with most. Except from the lady that gave 1 star.. REALLY???? This place is wonderful. Through my baking career, I have never found a product that is so wonderful and the staff there is so eager to help me. I live 30 miles away and will drive here 1 time a month ( or more) to try and buy their most recent offerings. Thanks so much for being a great mom and pop location and treating your customers right!

If you could give no stars, I would. Visited this place for the first time and the lady behind the counter was so RUDE! I then find out the lady is the owner! Do yourself a favor and go to The Tasteful Olive in downtown OP if you want top notch service and a better selection to choose from.

Very cozy atmosphere at this locally owned boutique shop. I've shopped at Olive Tree several times (sometimes for gifts, but usually for my own mad culinary science) and am consistently impressed with the great service and cooking advice. Do yourself a favor and pick up a few bottles of the "Primal Cry" Thai hot sauce and garlic-infused olive oil. Yum.

Had a wonderful time! Loved the class presented by Jasper Mirable and look forward to more classes in the future. The store is amazing with tons of delightful items! The variety of oils and vinegars is fantastic! We will definitely be returning soon!!!

Great little store. Fantastic oils & vinegars, of course, but also wonderful little surprises. Loved the local art, the wonderful salts and the Himalayan Salt Plate is my new favorite kitchen gadget! The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable, but not pushy. This place is a delightful little surprise!

Cute store with very helpful ladies. I do not cook at all, nor would anyone I feed want me to cook, but I love this store. I bought my step-mom a gift and will definitely go back. If you don't want to get just one large bottle of olive oil or vinegar they have a sampler which is also a great gift. Even if you have no idea about cooking or the use of oils you will leave enlightened as the Olive Tree has recipes and measuring advice that I could even understand. I highly recommend this store.

Clean and sparkling. The selections are many and one could spend hours discovering new and different taste sensations. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The special tasting events are well thought out and fun. We have been back many times and will continue to do so. Kansas City needs the Olive Tree and this store rates at the top for small businesses that will be here for the long haul!

I think I found my new place. Love the store, the friendly staff, lots of new ideas, gifts, and committed to 2 classes with more on the horizon. I like the idea that the meals are meals that are prepared in the class and the chance to hang out with other like minded people. If you haven't discovered the world of vinegar, you are missing out! Jump in and enjoy this fabulous way of cooking and healthy lifestyle.

I love this place! I was given my first bottle as a gift and couldn't imagine that there could be a huge difference in cooking with this olive oil. We love it and there is a huge difference! I have tried other places and the quality is definitely better at the Olive Tree. We no longer live in the area, but I still go by there every time I go back to KC. The owner is great and will help you try many combinations. Try them out because you always find new things you will like to use while you cook.

I love this store! I have about 30 bottles of olive oils and balsamic vinegars in total. I use them all in my cooking with very positive reviews from friends and family. The owner and her staff have always been very accommodating and great with gift suggestions. I have given products from this store as hostess, birthday and Christmas gifts. I have always had very positive comments by the individuals who received these products as gifts. This store offers great cooking classes given by local chefs. It also supports new businesses with pop-up events.

So fun - I am almost inspired to cook! But will enjoy the delicious balsamic vinegar s salad dressing! There are so many delicious varieties of balsamic vinegars, olive oils and sea salts - I will go back again!

I absolutely adore this store. MIndy & her staff have completely expanded my knowledge of balsamic vinegars ....I knew about balsamic/white balsamic/different ages.......but who knew you could get espresso balsamic? blackberry balsamic? honey-ginger-white balsamic?? (that last one was part of my glaze for this year's Easter ham, by the way!) They patiently allowed me to sample until I could decide & their monthly specials are great. I'm also a fan of the finishing salts, especially the merlot salt--once again, who knew? The shop itself has a relaxed elegance about it, which seems to fit the vibe of the staff as well. And, they offer cooking classes, tastings, all sorts of fun ways to highlight their products & expand your knowledge...check this gem out---you will not be disappointed!

I love shopping at Olive Tree. Between the unique local products, knowledgeable and helpful staff, incredible oils and vinegars you just can't go wrong here. When I find myself in a "cooking rut", I run over to Olive Tree to get my creative juices flowing. Not to mention that their products are affordably priced, so it's a great place to pick up last minute "host" gifts. I can't wait to go for my weekly visit.
