"For an excellent Brazilian steakhouse experience without the downtown crowds, head to Oliveira’s in East Boston for juicy, barbecued meats by the pound and brigadeiros — round, bite-sized chocolate treats — for dessert." - Erika Adams, Terrence Doyle

I went here after work the steak was really dry the fish was cold, the beef stew was cold the sausages were also cold. I still ate the food but when i went to get a take out plate for work which i can heat up i put it on the scale i seen it was under 1 pound. It was .46 then the cashier moved my plate to another another scale. It was 1.46lbs. Im like why did it weigh less over there. The cashier said nothing. So they charge more when you take the food to go then when you eat there. Its basically a scam to get more money. Not going back it was not a good experience and the restaurant was really really cold inside along with the food. I ate with a jacket on. The bathroom was also really dirty. I expected better. Lesson learned.

I’m really disappointed with my experience. I drove 1 hour to Oliveira’s because it’s my favorite restaurant. I ordered well done picanha. When I took a bite, I immediately spit it out. It was spoiled and the smell was awful. The meat even looked weird. My partner ordered a different meat and was perfectly fine, but the well done picanha was ROTTEN. I feel sick to my stomach. I’m never coming back here.

Always a good meal. Great meat and side selection

Diogenes Martinez

Google
Love the buffet. The brisket is to die for but the steak is a little too salty but still good. Great selection of food and desserts.

Google
I love this place! The buffet always hits!!! I love the Brazilian style rotisserie; it's the reason I keep coming back. Check this spot or some of their other locations around Boston; you won't be disappointed 😄

Google
BBQ meat coming out of the grill very cold, leftover meat from yesterday probably . Cold food on a Sunday at noon???? That doesn’t sound too appreciative to their customer on a food industry, I talked to Carlos at the payment desk and He advice me to say at the fist bite.?! , at that point I had lost mine appetite to finish up the meal. Don’t recommend that place .

Francisco Verón Ferreira

Google
Good meat. I liked all the side dishes as well. If you are missing some Brazilian-style steak, this is the place to go! Recommended.

Yelp
We live a few blocks away, but moved to the neighborhood during Covid so it took a while for us to eat here. This is a buffet style steak house, where you pay by the pound. While it's nothing fancy, it is cute, clean, and everyone is very friendly. You grab a plate, weigh it, get drinks(they have a variety of soft drinks and wine), and pay at the end (I'm assuming so you'll be tempted to have seconds or get one of their beautiful desserts!) The sides range from salads to rice and beans, different stews, and plantains. They even had sushi the last time we were there (??) but we didn't try it. I love the steamed asparagus and the beef stewed with red wine and mushrooms-- so delicious! But, let's be real, you come here for the meat. In the back they have the rotisserie wall with every kind of chicken, sausage, beef, lamb, etc you could possibly imagine. You tell the guy what you want, how you want it cooked, and how much you want (if you don't specify you'll get a mountain of each!). Don't forget to bring a dollar or two to tip the meat man, make sure to ask for some salt which makes the flavors sing, and load up on sides of chimichurri and those tiny peppers (which I put in separate containers so it doesn't add to my per pound weight)!! This place has always been a win, especially if you're looking for a high protein diet. It's reasonably priced for what you get, you can take home your left overs, and the deserts are GREAT (flan, tres leches, rice pudding are all amazing!)!!

Yelp
Atendente nem um pouco gentil. Em comparação com os outros Oliveiras: Marmita da casa bem menor e mais cara. Variedade muito menor Qualidade e sabor da comida extremamente inferior

David N.

Yelp
Trying this place a second time We were not nearly as impressed with this place as we were the first time. My wife had the single plate with chicken thighs and chicken wrapped in bacon. All proteins ordered were dried out. I had the picanha na tabula Pequena The Black beans smelled like rotten garbage, I dared not taste it. The Plantains were Burnt and old, The Steak was a pot roast quality not Brazilian Steak , the Fries were soggy, the vinegrete had tomato step pieces in it and the lettuce and tomato combo had the butt end of the heart of the romaine lettuce. The Service on Thursdays seem to give less shits about what they make than on the weekends . We might try this place one more time but it'll be awhile. They are definitely on probation .

Eliana S.

Yelp
I went this Good Friday to do my lunch, and Aldo eat the fish call BACALHAU, the Fish was super salt, I went to pay and told the girl, she charge and ignored my complaint. THEY SUPPOSED TO KNOW , Some people can not eat to much salt, Or other allergy, any one was so sad. Food is not good

Natanael C.

Yelp
Just order by uber eats and food got home burned and low quality. They protein for sure was a about to turn black and before putting it in the trash they just put it in the next uber eats order. Since living not that far when to restaurant and show the meal and ask for a replacement because it was clearly burn and they even agreed that it was indeed burned. They said they were not gonna exchange nothing because it was in the app. Can somebody explain how they dispatch a low quality meal and don't take responsibility of what they knew was not serve right. Refund was not made and exchange was not made to not "lose a few cents" when they food cost a total of almost $35.

Nicolly M.

Yelp
The server Jeniffer was espetacular!! Great customer service !! Offered me to try the amazing food, she was great over all !!

Michele M.

Yelp
This place had plenty of space between tables for social distancing! The meat was very juicy and flavorful. My favorite was the top sirloin. We tried 4 different desserts and the tres leches was super light and the tiramisu was great. The flan was a little too dense for my liking. Overall, the service, food, and drinks were great.

Naillady W.

Yelp
We have lived in the area for over a decade and always wanted to try this place. Finally did a few weekends ago. Sorry to say it was a disappointment. First of all parking is terrible. There is a tiny parking lot across from it but good luck getting a spot/fitting in a spot. We got take out and when I went into the place to get it it was not ready. So I got to stand around and observe while I waited. They seemed disorganized about my stuff but the way they operate for the buffet thing seemed fine. When we got home there was an entire dish missing. Had to call them and drive all the way back for it. And it's not like they had it put aside ready for me to grab. Had to wait again. The meat was nothing spectacular - dry and chewy. So that was pretty much a bummer after all that trouble. We ended up using the meat as sauce flavoring next day. No need for a repeat order for this family. We pass on this place.

Filipe F.

Yelp
Not all you can eat since you have to pay at scale. Food was blend and some ethnicity to Brazilian food but not all Brazilian flavors there. Not 100% happy with the price, and I can vou he for the meat since did not look fresh. The salad bat was very nice and I tried most of them.

Diego M.

Yelp
Gonorrea de comida, that shit sucks, maluquisimo, los 28 dólares más mal invertidos de mi vida

Tommy V.

Yelp
Terrible pickup process. I ordered through grubhub, showed up on time for my order and they told me they never received it. I have never had any issues with pick up or grubhub until today. I showed him my email confirmation and he told me to just work it out with grubhub. I'm already there and wasted my time. They did not do anything to resolve the fact that I no longer have dinner! I already paid through grubhub. It is my first and last time here.

Jose B.

Yelp
This is my favorite loxation out of this local chain of brazilian chusquerias. The flavors are so homestyle and they made the best dobradinha (tripe stew) I've ever had the best buffet food and salad bar out of the all yhe Oliveiras which to ky opinion have the best churasquerias in Boston.

David R.

Yelp
Decided to have a little Brazilian food tonight. Went on yelp and located this little place on Chelsea Dt in East Boston. They actually had a small parking area across the street which made going there easy. As I entered I was greeted by 2 very nice Brazilian girls working at the counter. I was instructed to choose what I like and bring it to them to weigh in as they charge by the pound. This option is ok for takeout but I went for the whole Shabang . The all you can eat buffet for $19.99. I started with a corn pie and a meat pie, they are tiny and definitely homemade and tasted nice. For my first dish I opted for white rice topped with pinto beans in a nice sauce and some tomato and beet from the buffet and for my first meat choices I had a chicken wing which I found to be a bit salty but cooked perfect, along with a nice beef rib seasoned nicely and one spicy pork sausage that will knock your socks off. I paired this with a corona with a lime, they brought me a mug the beer and a side dish with lime. Nice touch from a little neighborhood joint. On to plate number 2 - A very sweet piece of plantain which melted in my mouth, Romain topped with a mixed chopped tomato type salad was decent, sautéed collard greens seasoned and cook to perfection along with another tony meat pie had to get a second! For the next round of meat I unfortunately Tried the lamb it seem to be off color and didn't taste good at all couldn't eat it I think he gave me liver by mistake????? The top sirloin on the other hand was cooked fabulously I requested rare and it was delicious. Seeing that it was an all you can eat buffet, I thought I would challenge my stomach to a 3rd serving, I went for a couple winglets, a little bit more top sirloin another spicy pork sausage only because it was the best! And finally some roasted pineapple that was beyond good. I really enjoyed the food. For a little neighborhood Brazilian BBQ Joint I would have to give it a very strong 4 stars. They would have gotten a 5 but one of the waitresses/ counter girls kept kissing her boyfriend in the seated eating area. Very bad visual while trying to relax and enjoy my BBQ. I guess if she was kissing me they may have gotten the extra star ha ha ha.

Yelp
I looooove this place! I went to visit a friend in Boston and she had told me we had to come to Oliveiras. I wasn't too thrilled since I'm not the biggest fan of meats but this place changed me. Every cut of meat I got was so delicious and perfectly cooked. The sides were really good too and tasted pretty fresh. The price was great for the amount of food i actually got and ate. The only reason I give it 4/5 stars is because I am a pão de queijo fanatic and the one they had was alright. It didn't taste warm or fresh out of the oven which is the way I like it. Besides that loved this place! Will definitely come back when I'm in town :)

Weber G.

Yelp
Comparable to upscale Brazilian steakhouses such as Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil holistically. Oliveira's offers cheaper food (29 for all you can eat or around 9 per pound of food compared to around 50 at an upscale place). The meat itself is comparable. Olveira's seemed like it offers more variety as well. They have hot dishes such as beef stew with yuca and fish. Also included are a salad bar (included) and dessert section which is a la carte. The brigadeiros, cold chocolate and evaporated milk balls, are good, but over sweet. I also appreciated how you go to the churrasco area instead of them bringing it to you. Many times at Fogo or Texas de Brazil I had to aggressively wave down the meat people. One thing that is different is location. The area was cramped and the furniture looked old and slightly dirty. Also, some of the hot dishes were cold by the time I ate them.

Lara L.

Yelp
Very expensive for the quality. The meat in the buffet didn't taste good and the meat on the bbq was ok (a bit dry). It's too expensive for the quality in my opinion. The juice was super sweet. For the quality it should be less expensive.

V R.

Yelp
Food was not worth the price. My boyfriend and I did the all you can eat food. We each got 1 plate of food and a separate place of meat and left there paying $80!!! It wasn't an upscale restaurant at all. Again, food was okay but prices were ridiculous!

Jenny S.

Yelp
BEST, MOST AUTHENTIC, and CHEAPEST AYCE BRAZILIAN BBQ EVER! (yes better than Fogo de Chao & Plataforma Churrascaria Rodizio) only $16.99 for all you can eat meat & buffet, one drink, AND a dessert definitely a GEM IN THE ROUGH they offer AYCE or pay-by-the-pound! INSANE VARIETY of both buffet items, roasting meats & desserts!! NOTE: for AYCE you can choose if you want them to come to your table w/ the meats OR you can go up to the meat counter yourself (which i prefer) SOME items in the buffet: fruits, rice, seafood rice YUM, fish stew, fish sauce, 3 types of beans (bean sauce like refried beans was my fav!), beef stews, chicken, salads galore, sushi, fries, fried yuca, steamed veggies, spaghetti, etc etc my favorite bbq meats: the picanha, chicken hearts (best i've ever had), beef ribs & TENDER lamb! WARNING: the man in charge of the meat is very generous so if you only want a small piece LET IT BE KNOWN for DESSERT, after they allowed us to sample, we settled on the flan which was very thick & bolo de coco (like german chocolate cake meets tres leches) SO MOIST... & if you're too full for dessert you can take it to-GO my cashew juice was interesting, but i probably wouldn't get it again STAFF WAS SO NICE AND ACCOMMODATING even though this was a buffet!

Tim B.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon around 1230. I was really excited to see a true Brazilian steak house in East Boston. Unfortunately it was absolutely the worst Brazilian rodizio I have ever had! I tried the picanha, the chicken, and some other cut of meat. All meats were way over cooked, too salty, tough, and full of gristle. I really had to muscle through eating some of it because it was that bad. I left half uneaten on my plate. Even the pao de queijo (cheese bread) seemed old and dried out. The only reason I did not rate the restaurant one star is because the other portions of the buffet were actually good, especially the Feijoada. If you do go steer clear from the meat and stay with the other portions of the buffet.

Dan G.

Yelp
$19.99 for all you can eat meat laden buffet! There is a little bit of parking around the restaurant so no worries, or its pretty close to the Airport T station. The food was yummy. I have never been here before and found the choices to be overwhelming. Here's the thing, you have to have a game plan. Are you there for meat? Are you there for a little of everything? Are you VERY hungry? Or Just a little hungry? If very hungry and you want lots of meat - All you can eat If a little hungry - by the pound might be better Their buffet had things like ca variety of fresh cold salads (potato, celery, chicken salad) and fruit. The hot section had things like rice, beef stew, chicken stroganoff (yum), plaintains fish, tripe, and so many other things I can't remember. Then, you arrive at the meat station. Go easy at first. It is very overwhelming. They have Beef Sirloin, Lamb, Pork, Chicken and Sausages (Kielbasa, Pork, Spicy, this that and the other). Ask them for just a little bit of each thing so you can try them all. My first time up, they gave me a heaping pile of deliciously seasoned beef sirloin, then the next time I asked for a little sausage, chicken and lamb. All sliced to order. Seriously, its a place for meat lovers, not so much the vegetarian.

Geraldo M.

Yelp
Realy fresh food! The rodizio (all you can eat) is amazing ! A lot of variety of meat! Super friendly staff and they ask if you want to change your plate for a clean one! I love this place!

Nick S.

Yelp
Very authentic Brazilian Steakhouse cuisine. I had the BBQ rice, pork and beans, steak tips, and Lasagna. It was all very tasty. However, there is no menu for the meat counter and you really have to shoot from the hip when looking for what you want. Also is was VERY expensive. One decently sized but not aggressive plate was $33. Not sure if it is worth that high of a price.

Leon S.

Yelp
What a fantastic find! Very nice atmosphere, perfect for a date night or a nice dinner with family or friends. The service is top notch: friendly, attentive, knowledgeable. And the food is great. All of the meats were seasoned perfectly and prepared as requested (medium, medium well, etc.) I plan to make visiting here a regular occurrence.

Gabriel R.

Yelp
Every time I've eaten here, since COVID at least, the food has been cold. The quality isn't that good but I suppose you get what you pay for. The plantains were undercooked along with the fries. The salpicão had no flavor and was somehow soggy. Personally would not recommend unless you have 20 bucks and don't feel like cooking.

Jun Y.

Yelp
Have been ordering from here several times now and never disappointed - great food (sirloin, pork butt, brisket, sausage, wings - all great) with generous portions as family meal, special plate or single, with prompt on-time delivery and attention to Covid precautions by drivers. Thanks!

Tatiana R.

Yelp
Food is way to expensive!! Same food and tastier all over East Boston!! $30.00 on a small plate to go and to top it all off they weigh the food and add another heavier plate underneath. I don't know why???

Matthew B.

Yelp
So I may have posted on the wrong spot, but they appear to be the same. Four of my buddies brought me out for a birthday man-fest and Olivera's has the right tone. The odd grunts of Brazilian soap operas blare on the big screen television. You sit down at a clean-enough table. You get down to business. We all ordered the all-you-can-eat dinner. Just think endless rounds of plates. I went to check out the salad bar, snagged some freshly grilled plantains, but quickly realized I was in the wrong place. The skewers are where the magic happens. The waitress treated us well, but the "cook" (or should he be called the skewer-monger?) really made the night. He enjoyed our curiosity in his culinary offerings and catered to our enthusiasm. He must have walked over to our table with a new meat style ever 2-5 minutes... By the end of the first half an hour we realized we better slow down or we'd be comatosed in no time. With all things said and done, we had 14 different styles of cooked meats followed by a freaking delicious slice of chocolate cake over a couple hours of banter and BBQ euphoria. If you're on a diet or sensitive to salt, you're weak. Also, go somewhere else or you will regret your life. If you're hungry, with great friends and you've got an inkling for a dozen+ skewered meats, get on it.

Michael D.

Yelp
4.5 stars.. Probably one of the BEST brazilian BBQ joints I've been to.. It surpasses fogo de chao AND plataforma rodizio in taste and authenticity! Each dish tastes authentic and LEGIT just like brazilian food should taste! Incredible price ($16.99 for ayce meat, side dishes, one drink, and one dessert)! Notable dishes: Seafood rice, bean sauce, flank steak, picanha, FLAN. I've never had flan this thick and flavorful before.. AND it's included in the buffet price! AND the waitress who served us was SUCH a sweetheart! You can tell the workers put their hearts into this restaurant! OH a few tips: -when you ask for some more meat, THEY SLICE YOU A BUTT TON, so if you only want a small portion, TELL THEM, otherwise you'll get wayy more than you actually want! -pretty much all the dishes have some type of meat in them (even the bean sauce has chunks of pork in it), so if you don't like meat, STAY AWAY! -You can take the dessert to go if the buffet gave you the itis a little early!

Richard K.

Yelp
Good food at a good price. You have a few options at Oliveira's: (1) Buffet Option (approx. $16 Sun-Th, $18 Fri-Sat), (2) Pay by Weight (approx $7/lb for buffet, $8.75/lb for meat only), and (3) To-Go, same prices as Pay by Weight but you just fill up a to-go container at the buffet and they weigh it at the register and you're good to go. The food is very good, not worthy of 5-stars, but the value is hard to beat. They have quite a few options at the buffet, including Brazilian dishes, and at the meat counter they have a good number of choices and anything you want they will cut right there for you. I live right around the corner, so it's tempting to run over for a to-go dinner anytime I don't feel like cooking! Definitely give this place a try, it's worthwhile.

Brittney L.

Yelp
Great, laid back atmosphere, fresh traditional Brazilian dishes. The meat portions are generous and delicious! Try the chicken hearts- absolutely worth getting! All you can eat bbq was around $19 and 7.99 by the pound if you didn't want all you can eat. Sangria was awesome. As a tip, it's seat yourself. So head in and find a table and start getting your meals. The waitress will be over and if u decide to pay per pound I believe you get it weighed -at the counter before you sit back down. Come hungry!

Lin H.

Yelp
I love this place, it is authentic Brazilian barbecue, the steak is perfect, their price is super fair, you can spend 10 dollars for really good meal, and it is buffet style, you can get a little bit of everything. The barbecue station make the meat fresh. Don't forgot to try the dessert!

Ashley D.

Yelp
excellent brazilian bbq. i had a restaurant.com dining credit thing and couldn't be happier with my choice going with oliveira's. the service was amazing and our waitress was extremely accommodating and helpful. she made sure we got the best deal that we could and with her suggestion we also ended up ordering a few pitchers of sangria which complemented everything just perfectly :) all-you-can-eat dinner for a great price and the food is awesome. everything is extremely tasty and all the sides and choices of meat evoked feelings of pure happiness. they have a huge salad/side bar and a separate bbq area more towards the back. i got chicken, pork sausage, top sirloin, and grilled pineapple and loved my life. the dinner also came with our choice of dessert and the 2 revolving glass cases they have full of cakes was pretty amazing. overall i couldn't think of a better way to spend a friday night with my roommates, sitting around drinking and eating a bunch of meat.

Robert S.

Yelp
The selection of meats is very good...they have lots of types and they are juicy and tender.....Brazilian and Portuguese food tends to be on the salty side and I thought the meats were very salty for my taste....Good but salty. The buffet bar had great items: fried sweet plantains, beef stew, fried fish fillets, feijoada, white rice, seafood rice, beans, collard greens, roasted chicken, roasted pork, etc...the salad section was also well stocked. Overall a nice selection of food items..just too salty for my taste...

Amanda S.

Yelp
OMG this place is very good, fresh cut of meat and a lot of variety of meat. the buffet is amazing ! Good service and authentic Brazilian food! The desserts are very good i will be back for sure!

Rob I.

Yelp
Breaded steak was good. Rest of the food was bland. Had the bacon appetizer, shriveled unseasoned fat Btw, that I actually almost added salt to. Took forever to get it to me via Uber eats and it was cold. Waste of money.

Heather W.

Yelp
My friend and I decided this restaurant is "fine." Not great, not terrible. The food tastes pretty good, although it is pretty salty, as a few people have mentioned. The price was very reasonable; we bought by the pound and each of us spent about ten dollars. The desserts are the highlight. We got cheesecake but all of them looked great.

Yushan W.

Yelp
We came here during DineOutBoston, and it was amazing for the price! It's $28 for all-you-can-eat steak, full food bar, salad bar, and sushi; plus it comes with a choice of dessert during DineOut. The atmosphere is lively and fun. The top sirloin was my favorite. The flan was more custard-y than I would've liked, but maybe I was just too full from the meat at that point. But definitely save room for the Tres Leches, it's worth it.

Hiroshi M.

Yelp
excellent sirloin, lamb and pork BBQs - truly a local favorite - and great for takeouts as well - very prompt delivery

Soliman B.

Yelp
You gotta love the Buffet setup of this Brazilian Steak House! Prices are a bit high but other than that it's SUPER! The food is fresh and the deserts are VERY tasty especially the Flan!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Such a bang for the buck! My boyfriend and I stopped in here after finding out that our beloved Jalisco's restaurant was on vacation! We HAD to try this place because we've heard so many good things from locals, and it is comparable to Oasis in Medford, which is another Brazilan buffet that we've been to and love! Although service was a bit slow and the waitress didn't understand what I was saying at times, selection was just right, food was tasty. There were some food items where Oasis won, and some where Oliveiras won. If only they could combineeee!

Sandi M.

Yelp
This doesn't have a lot of atmosphere unless you count the full screen tv showing Nuevo Mundo, but the tender flank steak by the pound sliced off a Shish kebab totally is worth it. There are some fun things to try on the buffet table including flavor bomb arroz on pollo. Next time hope to find room for one of many cakes or fresh fruit for dessert. Glass of Malbec and a bottle of pineapple Jalisco was perfect. We paid $7 for one plate, $5 for another. If you get really hungry you can do all you can eat for $25. Our seafood and vegetarian eater just ordered a drink, was not happy with choices, so one star off. There was only one tray of fried fish and fried yucca, fries, and white rice. The online menu we saw that listed seafood pasta was not available.

caesar s.

Yelp
not bad just really expensive i got rice and beans with 1 small piece of chicken it was almost 17 dollars that i could not understand

Maria B.

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant for years. I go to thd East Boston one. It was good food , but my last visita have been bad experience. The food is old (soggy potatoes that feel more than a day old, the meat is either raw or too cooked, the yellow plantains also old) . The place is mostly empty, looks like people have been avoiding the place and they still want to make a profit by reheating food. I asked to speak with the manager to give feed back. No manager present. They took my phone number and 3 days later nobody has called me. Better eat leftovers at home rather than going to that place.

Food C.

Yelp
Best yummmmy!!! Cheap , fresh , nice staff , sent my boss with 16 ppl there and they had so much fun & enjoyed the service & good food

Got R.

Yelp
My nephew accidentally ordered food from this restaurant using a credit card he wasn't supposed to use and when we called the restaurant to minutes later to cancel the order and refund the money on the credit card they refuse to. Never received the food yet they still charge $40 for food. Definitely will not recommend this to anybody and as far as customer service this restaurant is terrible. Will never eat here again and will never recommend it to anybody. Terrible service now riding with credit card company to get money back for food we never received.

Lannie L.

Yelp
Settling here after an hour wait at Rino's was well worth it! Though upon arrival, we were confused about whether we should seat ourselves and/or serve ourselves, as the format of the restaurant is cafeteria-style and there was no host. We were given instructions eventually and the waitress was beyond sweet so it was fine. 16.99 for dinner buffet - drink+dessert included. Not bad considering it was 6.75(?)/lb if you were to eat by plate. Salad bar selections were great - get: bbq rice, all fried foods, fried egg!!! The meats were delicious though I do have to complain that it was way too salty (esp. the pork). I do love that you go up and order what you want as opposed to having men walking around w/ only select meats like at different brazilian bbq joints. Dessert offerings were plenty and the sweet waitress let us take it to go since we were obviously exploding from the buffet itself. Yay!

Josie S.

Yelp
I love this place! I was taken here by a Brazilian coworker for the first time who thinks its the best he's had since he left Brazil. Staff is friendly and the BBQ is amazing! I get the top sirloin, lamb (hands down the best thing you can eat here), flank steak, and chicken hearts. From the buffet, get the feijoada, fried plantains, and the collard greens, maybe a little rice. Seriously, don't mess around, that lineup of delicious food is perfect. You can pay by the pound (wimp), or get all you can eat for $17.95. Totally worth being a pig for the day. For a much later dessert, try some of the imported candies at the counter.

Yelp
Unless you really can eat, and I thought I could, it's worth it to pay by the pound. My plate piled with meat was $10 bucks. And it would have been fine to stop there, but I decided to get the all you can eat option and whoa, I'm still full. (A week later.) Kinda odd ball place in typical East Boston style, but the food is great and the prices can't be beat. Tip: Very close to the Airport stop on the T.

Yelp
It's possible that the best kind of restaurant of them all is the little, unassuming one that doesn't feel like it's small as it is, offers service that belies its unremarkable appearance, and has food that makes you forget it's inexpensive. Oliveira's looks for all the world like a slightly-upgraded takeout place, with a counter in front selling assorted goodies. There are a handful of tables each in two halves of the place, and a buffet on one side. There's a TV playing Brazilian soap operas and soccer. You can either go all-you-can-eat, or by weight. The buffet is something of a trap, in that the more of it you eat, the less meat you can handle, but it's really excellent stuff; a good tortellini salad, some alfredo pasta and broccoli, and sticky, sweet white rice. The waiter was very friendly and eager to put up with our shenanigans, even with my friend being indecisive about wine-he was quick to offer a taste, and was as concerned that she like it as a server in a fancy restaurant might be. The guy bringing around the meat was enthusiastic, too. And persistent. It's all really good, too. The meat ranges from lamb to many kinds of beef, to liver, to chicken, to sausage, some of it lean, some of it awesomely fatty, almost all of it cooked perfectly. Perfectly bad for you, but still. Next time i will come with an emptier stomach.
