Oliver's

We’ve been here several times usually between 1 and 3 pm, after playing some golf. We love the food here. Burgers are very tasty and this time we tried the Fish and Chips and it was excellent. The fries also are great. Homemade, not the skinny batter kind, these are nice and fat slices from real potatoes. Our server told us that the Brussels sprouts side is very good also and so my hubby had to try it. It was over the top delicious. I’m not a fan of Brussel sprouts but this was amazing, light and crispy with some kind of beautiful seasoning sauce on it. He laughed because I ate more of that than my Fish and Chips. They have all kinds of draft beer and your regular wines, bar appears to have plenty of hard liquor also. The atmosphere is very charming inside and we usually like to eat in the bar side room so we can watch golf or football on one of their many TV’s. Love that this is a locally owned restaurant and you can do some light shopping right next door. Check Oliver’s out. Say hello to Cam the manager and order the Fish and Chips and a side of Brussel sprouts it’s the bomb!

Yuck! Greasy bar food. Soggy, brussel sprouts, strangely textured French onion soup, extremely greasy quesadillas, deep fried cheese curds that are the worst we ever had. Seek other food source unless you are desperate. :)

Oliver’s Restaurant is easily one of the best dining experiences in Lynchburg. Let me start off by saying I love 801 which is another restaurant that is owned by this owner. They are getting ready to merge and I was super excited. Let’s just say I don’t know if I will be back. Last week we went and the service was not good. When we walked in the door a young man greeted us and sat us. With no menus or silverware. Then we waited for some time and no one even approached our table. Finally the manager came by and heard me complaining and she asked had we been helped. She got a waitress and we had to ask for drinks n Forward to tonight. My son and I decided to go and we went in there was a note on the host stand that said see bar for seating. Well we just happened to run into one of the waitresses that was standing at the door as we walked in speaking to the cook and she told us to sit anywhere we like. We sat down and we both had time to go to the bathroom at separate times and still no one came to wait on us. Then the manager brings two other ladies to sit there and brought them menus and we were still not acknowledged. We decided to leave and the lady that cooks was standing outside. She offered to wait on us but I told her that wasn’t necessary. Do better!!! The only way you keep a business and are profitable are your customers. Something really needs to be done about paying just as much of attention to your non bar area customers.

I was lured in by the goldens and stayed for the food. Did not disappoint! This place is amazing!! My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. We started with the mozzarella logs — delicious. My husband got a NY sour and I got the pomegranate martini, both very good. We ordered two burgers, I got the brisket burger and my husband got the bacon jam; both were very juicy and made with high quality beef. We finished off the night with the cheesecake! Service did NOT suffer even though they were short staffed. Our water cups were always filled and everyone was very pleasant. The only things that could improve- my burger was supposed to have coleslaw and did not this time (I stole some of my husband’s so I didn’t miss out). No points deducted though (short staffed and two days before Christmas). Also, the restaurant side was a little chilly. Overall, we are sold! Thank you for a great night everyone.

Food here was… YUM!! Fantastic burger and fries 👏 fish and chips were amazing too. Server was so friendly and attentive and who doesn’t love a restaurant with tons of pictures of dogs everywhere. Would definitely recommend for a laid back meal with big portions.

We went here to listen to the live band. I can not give a review about the food as we didn't have any. We did get beers. We were kinda taken aback by the selection of beers. I think maybe a change up would do some good. We did sit outside so I can say anything about the inside. We were with friends so the lady was for accommodating to our group. Would totally go back to try the food.

Came in for lunch today with some coworkers and was not disappointed. I've always had great service at Olivers, but our server Cam was impressivly attentive! Thanks for a great dining experience.

we decided to try this restaurant for a change of pace and I have too say it was delicious the smash burgers were the most tender burger I have ever had and the Wisconsin cheese curds were delicious will be coming here again the staff was wonderful if you can try this restaurant you won't be disappointed.

Service is atrocious. The food is terrible, and since the new management took over it's a mess.

Oliver's has so much to offer. I was there on opening day with Schweety and a friend and had a wonderful time getting to know a new place. My next visit was to treat a friend for lunch on the patio. Good food and service. Next, 8 people (four couples) enjoyed a night out shortly after the new chef came on board. She came out to chat with us at the table. These friends had not been here before and were all very pleased with the experience. I know they have live music and other events. Great neighborhood place!

OMG, they should have paid us for our time. We had reservations, they were not ready for our group. The service was so so so S L O W then the food that sat for 10-15 minutes before they brought the table settings. the food was cold, poorly served. People that asked for salid dressings, sat staring at the food for 10 minutes plus. Service, Below Poor F- Food quality C- Food temperature D- Overall experience, do not waste your time or money. There is NO Excuse for this poor excuse of food service!

Usually wouldn't do this but i got a smash burger to go and the burger patty was wayyy overcooked and hard. Was really looking forward to trying them but im pretty disappointed. Otherwise the Mac and cheese was phenomenal!!!

Our first experience (and a very late lunch) at Oliver's was a foodies' dream on every level. Oliver's take on grilled cheese and pulled chicken sandwiches was exquisite. Our selected side dishes, the amazing sidewinder fries and curried cauliflower were such unexpected and unusual treats. Last, but not least, Cam, our wonderful server was so much fun and very menu informative--we cannot wait to return to experience another Oliver's experience and the treasures that we also wanted to try.

It was a nice day to sit outside and we really enjoyed the food and service. My kids loved his cheeseburger and then he thought my fish and chips are the best fried fish he tried! It was really good. Def recommend!

Service was super friendly and attentive! The jalapeño poppers were out of this world, so good! Loved the fish and chips, would totally order again and again. The Brussel sprouts, definitely worth the small upgrade! My drink was delicious, I think it was called off the leash. Thank you for a great dinner, we were visiting our son and daughter in law!

My sister in law knows the owner. We were in town to move her from VA to TN and dropped in to check it out and for her to say goodbye. Food was delicious! We started with the cheese curds. Get them!!! I'm from Chicago and visit Wisconsin all the time and have had my share of cheese curds. These are on par with those. Both smashburgers were delicious (bacon jam & brisket). Ask for a side of ranch for your fries. You won't be sorry. Sidewinder fries were delicious and seasoned perfectly and the Chile Margarita was perfect. The decor and ambience was classy and cozy. I wish I lived closer. I'd visit Lynchburg and Oliver's a lot!!

Amazing! The service is something I've never experienced before, they are so kind and welcoming! The food fast delicious and the atmosphere was so fun, especially on the patio! 5/5

Oliver's is a great spot to sit under an umbrella and enjoy its good food and drink. Domestic or craft beers, specialty drinks, whatever, at the bar with wide screens. My wife & I usually get the Catfish Creole: she fried, mine grilled. Over rice with a Creole sauce. Yet it's the servers who get us to come come back, over and over. Enjoy!

The worst restaurant we have ever been to. Waited 2 hours for some of our meal tobe served. Didn't get all of our meal and what I did get had a hair in it. The others food was dry chicken hard dry rolls and salad dressing with skim on top. My rating would be minus 10.

Wonderful folks. Great location. Terrific space. Confounding inconsistency. This place drives me crazy. I want to love it, but every visit for me is marred by a glitch in the food, drinks or service. Two nights ago, I ordered an Old Fashioned from the bar. It was perfectly executed, proper proportions, full glass, correct muddling of the fruit. Last night it was a glass half full, one ice cube, no fruit. $12.00 for that. Last night my partner ordered a Manhattan. I don't know what was in it, but a Manhattan it was not. Several weeks ago I had nearly inedible chicken fingers, dry as sand and profoundly overcooked. My partner got them last night, and they were brilliant. Two nights ago, we experienced a minor goof in the order in which the food came out. No biggie. Last night it took 25 minutes to be acknowledged by the server. The wait for food wasn't too bad. The wait for anything from the bar was stupid. The burgers are always excellent, I must say. This place is on the verge of being really good. Please keep working on it.

Chef April does an amazing job in the kitchen! The service was friendly and speedy! Definitely recommend! We enjoyed the live music and hospitality

Ate at Oliver's last night for the first time. This building has been so many restaurants in the past. There is patio space but today it was inside for us. Service was great but atmosphere not so much. Not as much attention there except all the dog pictures adorning the walls. Food was good and good selection of beer. It was poker night there so that drew away from atmosphere. Fries with burgers was way too salty. I think probably a heavy hand there. We will go back ! But not playing poker

We ordered Oliver's through Door Dash last night. My wife and I ordered nachos, a kraut dog, and two desserts. The desserts were missing and the kraut dog was missing three ingredients. Going through Door Dash's customer service will get you some money back, but it won't make you whole by sending your items. I sent an email to the restaurant directly, expecting not to hear anything, but I was rooting for this restaurant, so I wanted them to hear my disappointment. Here is why they are getting five stars. The owner called me back within minutes, confirmed my issues with the order, explained what happened from his perspective, contacted Door Dash, refunded the entire order, accepted responsibility, and apologized. I put a lot of faith in people with integrity. In my email, I said we would not be back, but after his expert handling of our business, we will give them another opportunity. We'll either go there or order in soon. I want to thank the owner personally. I appreciated his reaching out and properly correcting the situation. The nachos were delicious.

Giving 4 stars because the food was great! The service not so much. We waited 15 minutes with no one coming to our table. I had to go to the hostess and ask if anyone was assigned to the area we were seated in. She finally came, got out drink orders (water and one glass of wine). Then we waited another 10 for our orders to be taken. The food came out in a semi timely manner however my side salad came out with my meal. 1.5 hours for 2 people is a bit much. I will probably visit a few other places on my list before returning.

The first time my husband and I went to Oliver's we were very impressed with the food and the service. Clay was our waiter and was very attentive and helpful. I posted on Facebook how impressed we were. I took a group of five other ladies there last week. when we got there, there were only two other people in the restaurant. Our group ordered and three of us ordered chicken tenders, which I had suggested. Every order came out except for the third order of chicken tenders. I volunteered to wait on mine and the wait was about 10 to 15 minutes. I also ordered cilantro citrus rice, which, of course was cold by the time I started to eat it. It was also undercooked and flavorless. When my chicken tenders came, they put ranch dressing and I asked for honey mustard. The waitress told me she would get it in a few minutes. She proceeded to fill water and tea, etc. one of my friends said no you need to get it now. The waitress headed back toward the kitchen and I told her that I would come and get it. She must not have heard me because I overheard her telling what I presume was the manager and the Cook that the lady said to get it now. The manager saw me standing there and said it was his fault that my food was slow being served. I let him know that we were there because I had suggested that we meet there for lunch. I went back to my table and a little later the manager came back out and asked everyone how the food was and he apologized again, for the fact that I had to wait on my food. I honestly thought it would've been a good gesture for him to offer to comp me in some way for the fact that the waitress was rude and my food was late. When I got the bill, I still gave the waitress a 20% gratuity. On Sunday, my husband and my grandson went there for brunch. My husband ordered an omelette with spinach and mushrooms. He said he thought they left a piece of eggshell in his omelette, but he soon realized it was dirt from the mushrooms. The manager took it back and said he would have another omelette made. When he came out, he told my husband that in fact the mushrooms were dirty that the kitchen staff had not washed them properly. I'm very disappointed that these things happened because we were so excited to have a casual dining place with an extensive menu selection close to our home. However, I'm not sure will be back.

Food and staff were absolutely amazing. Our waitress was attentive and make sure our waters were full. Maddie was wonderful and sweet. We felt welcomed and cared for. We both got the smash burgers and they were fantastic. Our first time here and will definitely be back again.

We had a late lunch at Oliver's today with another couple and loved it! The burgers were fantastic, and made perfectly to order! Service was excellent! The smoked old fashioned and moonshine margarita were fantastic!! We can't wait to go back! Especially looking forward to nicer weather when we can take our dogs and dine on the patio!

The red pepper and garlic dressing on the cobb salad did not disappoint. Bleu smash burger w/fries. Had the BBQ sauce on the side. It's delicious and has a little heat in the back end. Service was good.

Don't go! Servers carry too full drinks and spill everywhere. Too much salt in fries and chicken. Waitress brought check while we were still eating. Items on line not available. Cheap rolls.

We went in for brunch the other day had the italian scrambled eggs, was absolutely delicious, our waiter James was outstanding! Drinks were great ambience of our dining experience an A+

We recently had Sunday brunch T Oliver's. The service was fantastic. There was a hiccup with our order and the correction was handled quickly and politely. The food was phenomenal! Fresh and flavorful. Everything you want in an off the chain restaurant.

A wonderful restaurant with a patio out front for patrons to dine under umbrellas accompanied by their dog. I had the smash burger with mac and cheese. For dessert: bourbon pecan pie. The lunch was delicious!

We visited on a Saturday while in town and when we got there it was not very busy at all, but we still waited over a hour for food. We just ordered a burger and some fish. Our appetizer of nachos was cold when we got it. The pictures of all the dogs were cute, but the service was not great at all. The waitress seemed very nice and I'm not sure if it was the kitchen staff or what. We would not visit again if we were in the area.

Great food! The burgers and mac and cheese are amazing! The Caesar salad is really good, and I'm not usually a salad fan. Love the atmosphere and always good crowd.

Took an hour and 20 min to get our food which I ordered a soup and salad!! Ridiculous!!

The food is excellent! I got the Hangover Smashburger, add sautéed mushroom & no hot sauce, with sidewinder fries. The order was correct and everything was cooked very well. Definitely coming back!

Got the Breakfast Sampler. It was served in a sea of grease! The hash browns were loaded down with salt and were also very over cooked. The bacon was also oozing with grease. Worst breakfast ever. I was sick the next day after eating there, as well. Doesn't even deserve 1 star.

No hostess or anyone else to seat us. Apparently short staffed because they were only offering food from the appetizer menu, which was short on healthy options and heavy on fries, curds, and nachos. We won't be back.

Was visiting this area and Oliver's was recommended. Nice location, but food was subpar. My friend got a burger and he said it was dry and not good. I had what was supposed to have been a cajun chicken sandwich and it was so dry I thought I was eating rawhide leather! Waitress was nice, but can't go back until their food prep is better. Maybe if you are going for drinks or just to sip water and enjoy the outside patio...

This new place is so awesome!!! My mom and I have been multiple times trying to taste everything on the menu, we love the smashburgers, the wings, the steak and shrimp meals! The staff is so friendly and the owner comes to check on us personally.....100% our new favorite place!

I have visited Oliver's a couple times and besides the food being inconsistent and them being out of certain items on the menu constantly ! last night, I went into Olivers with my service dog to play poker. My dog has had her service papers for a couple years and is very well trained. She went under the table to lay down. I thought it would be nice to order her a piece of grilled chicken for when we go on break I'm very well aware not to feed my dog inside the restaurant, but not only that the waitress told me please don't feed the dog inside the restaurant I said yes, no problem I put the chicken on the shelf behind me while I continue to play cards the next thing I know the owner came up to me and started yelling at me that I wasn't allowed to have my dog in his facility, I explain to him that she was a service dog she had on her service. Vest and I had her service papers to prove it if he needed To see them he said I needed to have her marked I again explained she has on her service vest. He looked under the table at her and then accused me of feeding her the chicken in his restaurant. He told me that I should know better and continue to yell at me, not only that, he grabbed the chicken off of the back of the shelf and took it away. I explain to one of his managers that they were more than welcome to roll back the camera to see that I had never given my dog, one bite of that chicken I was embarrassed in front of the people I played poker with I was treated very poorly yelled screamed at and made to look stupid. Then I was approached by one of the managers. He told me that the owner was still in the kitchen, yelling and screaming and cussing over my dog, and the chicken I had to get the Server to remake the chicken for my dog. I like to support locally owned businesses, but this guy owes me an apology. My dog goes into all the restaurants here in Lynchburg, and never have. I been approached by the owner yelled at screamed at, or accused of things or called a liar, such as I was at Ollivers!!!

Great food!! Ambiance too!! It's an adorable little place. Good prices. Burgers are deliciousness personified...
