Olivier Leflaive

"A plush house in the centre of the village, a glass-paned wine cellar, a bar with an Art Deco look, a chic and inviting dining room: welcome to Olivier Leflaive's place! The famous Côte de Beaune winegrower has created two eateries. Le Bistro d'Olivier offers a seasonal menu inspired by local produce, and the restaurant Klima has more fine dining ambitions. Great wine list, needless to say, thanks to the estate's 80 appellations." - Michelin Inspector

We have been staying here for more years than I care to count. As always there are smiles, the hotel has recently been enlarged and redesigned, and the result is excellent. The service is, as always, good, the rooms are comfortable. As I have said before the quality of the bedding could go up a notch, and at this price point an evening turn down…..

Hotel easy to find as it's right on the main square of this small village. They don't have their own parking but leaving the car on the square seemed fine. We got a room with a view over the square which was pleasant and well equipped. Dinner in their restaurant is expensive but we expected that, the wine list too. But it was very good. Likewise the breakfast the following morning.

My wife and I stayed four nights in this superb small family-owned and operated. If you plan to visit Burgundy you will not go wrong by staying here.||There are a variety of rooms to choose from. Ours - and I believe all of them - had been beautifully renovated during Covid when this hotel and so many others had to close their doors. As a result, the bed, the living area, the bathroom and the storage were all just first rate.||Adding to the appeal of Olivier Leflaive are its public areas: a welcoming foyer, a gorgeous bar and a wonderful restaurant. And then there is the staff - friendly, attentive and always ready to help.||Over many years my wife and I have been fortunate to visit France many times and have stayed in many hotels. However, of all of them, Olivier Leflaive is quite simply a standout and in the future we will definitely return.

We only ate at the restaurant. The staff and service, especially Johann was such a joy and made the experience memorable. I’d recommend if you are in the area. Cuisine was modern French.

We both loved our stay. It was a real treat in the middle of our French road trip. We did a wine tasting, picnic bike ride and ate in the restaurant for two nights. The staff were amazing especially the Italian sommelier who made two British wine idiots feel listened too and at home. The only downside was the great man himself greeting both tables either side of us but not a word in our direction. Must save up for some better clothes and cologne. The food was sublime and the matched wines we were recommended sent us on a little journey each course. The room was perfect and every staff member did their utmost to make us happy. Save up your spondolics and spend a day or two here rubbing up with the jet set. It’s pricey but oh so worth it.

An attractive and charming hotel in lovely Puligny over looking a peaceful garden.|Our twin room was spacious, comfortable, had good qualty beds and bed linen and a modern bathroom which functioned well. The price of the room I thought was fair for this location and represents reasonably good value.|Staff were efficient, friendly and informative about the region.|Breakfast offered a fairly limited choice, but the produce was good and tasty and at Euro 18 reasonable compared to other hotels locally.|The hotel is owned by a local wine growing dynasty ( I think they have over 80 wines) and as you would expect their own products dominate the wine card, perhaps a little too much? As their wines veer towards the top end of the market there is limited choice for people who are trying to watch their budgets and buying by the glass is an expensive option. If you are staying more than a night I would suggest buying a bottle for your aperitif and asking them to keep what's left over in the bottle for the next days aperitif, it will cost far less than buying by the glass.|The hotel has a fine dining restaurant, which unfortunately proved to be a big disappointment.|We chose the cheaper of the 2 no choice set menus at 75 euro. Generally the plates were too wet and sloppy with too many foams and purees. Not my taste at all, but I would have accepted it until the main meat course of duck arrived. The flesh proved impossible to cut, let alone chew and was frankly inedible. Both the wine waiter and the front of house manager agreed the dish was not up to standard and took it away. There was a vague suggestion of being offered an alternative, but as this was the only meat dish available it was a somewhat empty gesture. |Even though the house agreed the dish was bad, we were still charged for it and had to pay for it.|To make things worse when the bill came my guests aperitif glass of champagne appeared on the bill bottle as a whole bottle, ( which we did get rectified) . The wine flight for the meal is given on advice of the sommelier, it is not costed in advance or pricing offered and the time. The final bill for this was, unsurprisingly, an arm and a leg.|This meal was not this establishments finest hour, nor was the erroneous bill presented for it acceptable. |||||

Nestled in a lovely little street within Puligny-Montrachet is the still family run Olivier Leflaive. I had heard about their wines, and was plesantly surprised to find the charming hotel and fantastic restraurant, Klima. We stayed in December, and while many of the attractions that the hotel can book for you were too cold to do, I love that they offer these wonderful packages including a bike tour and picnic and tour of the cellers. We did get to enjoy a 4-wine pairing with our dinner, which we very much enjoyed. If you are doing a tour of the region, this is an excellent stop to ad to your list!

We did the wine tasting and then lunch. Both experiences were fantastic. We particularly appreciated the implication of the owner in showing us his cellars.

Yelp
An amazing restaurant and hotel! We stayed in the hotel, given that Puligny-Montrachet was a perfect location for a night to be spend during our biking trip on the wine road of Burgundy. On the suggestion of the staff, we reserved a table at their restaurant and were all but disappointed. First off, the cooking here is amazing. The card is not large, like in most good french restaurants. It's basically the Chef's menu + a couple of options. My partner went with the menu and absolutely liked her courgettes crème with soft cheese as well as the fish, whereas I thoroughly enjoyed my meat cocotte (excellent doneness, excellent sauce, excellent potato grattin) and paté en croute with whites for the latter and reds for the former. For the dessert I ordered their chocolate mousse - excellent, although a bit bitter, that paired extraordinarily well with a red advised by their caviste. Finally, to finish the meal I ordered a Premier Cru Puligny-Montrachet white. It was absolutely amazing - I enjoyed it for a solid half an hour while my partner was enjoying her Champagne Rosé. Their wine collection deserves a special mention. We were tasting the wines by the glass and were advised on the pairings by the staff wine expert. We were pleasantly surprised by how well of pairings the wine expert was recommending, as well as the general quality of the wines. In fact we liked some of them so much, we ordered several bottles after checking out from the hotel. The service is excellent, but the place is all but cheap (count 80 - 250 for a dinner for two, depending on what you order and the wines by the glass that you will order) and requires a certain dress code. But it's totally worth it. The hotel itself gets bonus point for excellent consumables, calm location and high accessibility of all the common spaces and rooms. Overall, excellent experience. On the expensive side, but worth it, especially if you like wines.

Yelp
Berore you come here first you must decide IF you like Chardonnay or not. We do not but decided to expand our experience only to confirm our distaste. But if you like Chardonnay then cone here. 6 different terrior's with complete different aromas and intensity yet at the same time same color and general initial bouquet. The food accompanying was 5-Star!

Yelp
Stayed here twice this month... wonderful people, accommodations, food and wine in a small village outside Beaune.....in Puligny-Montrachet . The wines are great, the rooms are inviting, the staff is wonderful in the hotel and restaurant! The restaurant menu is small but well done, or go for tasting menu, you won't be disappointed!! Rent bikes and ride through the vineyards you won't be sorry......

Yelp
Memories of a trip from the past. We got two rooms and oh I wish I took the time to take more pictures but the images in my mind are everlasting. Wonderful service and even more wonderful bathroom. We received two rooms one for family and one for single in the party. The family room was of the suite and the little ones enjoyed the sun of the private patio area. My favorite part was the food. On the first night we drove from Zurich after work and arrived quite late. We were not hungry but he said he had food and wine pairings waiting so we felt rude to say no. As soon as we took a whiff of the cheese walking through the doors we were suddenly as if we have never seen food before and ate everything in front of us. Much brag that Switzerland has the best cheese, but what good is cheese without the right wine?

Yelp
You MUST participate in the vineyard tour, which is led by one of the winemakers and concludes in the winery with one of the Leflaive brothers. Folks, this is an outstanding effort by Olivier Leflaive! We also highly recommend spending a few nights, nay a week at La Maison d'Olivier Leflaive, which is located in the centre of the vineyards of Puligny-Montrachet in a picturesque 17th century building. Thirteen very nice and spacious rooms with modern facilities........read more with tasting notes

Yelp
May 2015 A perfect relaxing enjoyable getaway. Stayed in the lovely "Mod" themed room, and did the wine tour and tasting which I highly recommend. The first half of the tour was given by Anna who was very friendly and informative... And the second half by Olivier Leflaive! Learned so much and was so funny. The entire staff is wonderful. Great to stroll around the village and take in the surroundings. It was the highlight of our trip.

Yelp
We did the vineyard and winery tours as well as the pairing lunch. It was one of the highlights of our trip! We learned so much on the tours, which made the rest of our visit to the area even more enjoyable because we felt like we knew more about the wines we were tasting and what goes into them. The lunch was amazing with spot on pairings. Highly recommend.
