Olivijn….Looked forward to this lunch with my wife. , But from the moment we crossed the treshold and entered the restaurant we felt hostility towards us. An unfriendly reception preceded our lunch.
Olivijn is a one star Michelin restaurant and we had lunch at the discounted price of euro 60 instead of the regular euro 80, because of the “Restaurant week” offer. 3 “amuses” were presented, one poor, one good and one excellent, where the excellent one was the one which had a licorice /fennel flavour. After the amuses the first course with crab, pure but not very flavour full, The second course was the scallop with , hazelnut and truffle. Good taste , but really the tiniest scallop i have ever seen and the dish does not deserve the name of a full course from a four course lunch. Main course, was 3 tin slices of sirloin ( total aprox 25 gr!!! ) 1 onion and 3 mushrooms. Quality was less than fair. The desert was maybe the best from the lunch….no that is not true ,by far it was the bread. The bread was homemade and excellent. To conclude, far too expensive, the tiniest portions imaginable and service at the table at times hostile. It was my companion who saved the meal otherwise i would have felt scammed. in total a disappointing exprience.
