If there were a hidden gem in Worcester that I'd almost rather keep to myself, it would have to be OLO Pizza.
It's one of those places that most people outside of Worcester have probably never heard of, but those who do know, know it's a spot that should make other restaurants around town a little nervous.
First off, very few places truly know how to make great fries. OLO and RailTrail are the two top contenders for that title. Their fries are hand-cut, perfectly crispy, never greasy, and seasoned just right.
Their pizza is top-notch as well, from the classic cheese to the cupped pepperoni, you really can't go wrong. But if you want something that might just turn you into a regular like us, check out their special menu.
If you're craving chicken parm, one that's so good you might consider defending your plate with a fork, OLO's version is unbeatable. Fresh, high-quality ingredients, house-made pasta, and an in-house vodka sauce that's rich and flavorful, it's simply hard to compete with.
They've also mastered what many call "regular" bar food, like their house burger, which is easily one of the best I've had in years, fresh, juicy, and perfectly balanced. And their recent steak special? Let's just say it melted in my mouth and was almost too good to share.
I don't hype up restaurants after one visit. We've gone MULTIPLE times, consistently, and OLO delivers every single time, both in food quality and atmosphere.
Whether you're bringing the family to enjoy a great meal (don't miss the bocce court in the back) or planning a relaxed date night with excellent food, drinks, and company, OLO has it all.
A hidden gem that truly deserves to be shared.
