13 Best Hotels in Florence, Italy

"Quirky and bohemian, this small, intimate B&B is housed in a historic palazzo in Oltrarno, just across the river from the historic center. It has 14 rooms with vintage treasures and quirky touches, and includes a buffet breakfast. Owned and designed by calligrapher Betty Soldi and her husband Matteo Perduca. Standout amenities include quirky design, clawfoot tubs in some rooms, and a buffet breakfast." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The Freshest Hotels in Florence

"The name Oltrarno Splendid is simply a matter-of-fact description of the circumstances: here we have a stylish and eclectic 14-room bed and breakfast in Oltrarno, the quieter but no less cultured neighborhood on the other side of the Arno river from Florence’s city center, conceived by no less illustrious a team than Francesco Maestrelli, Matteo & Marco Perduca, and Betty Soldi, the minds behind Florentine favorites Soprarno Suites and Ad Astra." - Mark Fedeli

What a lovely hotel and truly splendid staff. We had such a wonderful 4 night family stay here. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, warm, and welcoming. The rooms are HUGE and the AC is super high functioning. No weird sewer smells covered by incense and full cable TV (which we didn’t watch much of but was nice to have). Perfect assortment at breakfast and pastries available all day long. There is an elevator which was a relief. Also fantastic neighborhood - away from the center but close enough to walk everywhere. We would def stay again!!!

Absolutely loved this gorgeous place! Find your massive secret door off the main street, into a gated courtyard and take a lift up to the gods! We stayed in the top room for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, with full views over the rooftops of Florence. Breakfast was lovely, attentive and everything you could need. Snacks and drinks available all day if needed after scouting around Florence. Alberto was fabulous and recommended great restaurants and suggestions. We will be returning as soon as.............XX

This hotel is just amazing, the room was perfect, so spacious, full of character and with wonderful amenities. The service was second to none. Breakfast was also amazing. The location was perfect, in the best part of Florence.

Beautiful boutique hotel, great service, and nice breakfast! My husband and I stayed here for 4 days and would recommend it to anyone. It is also in the “fun” Santo Spirito neighborhood of Florence with lots of bars and restaurants that are a bit less touristy.

I loved everything about this place. The location is perfect. Everything is close by, but it’s a little less packed with tourists on this side of the river. The staff are so friendly and helpful: suggesting and contacting various restaurants, providing tips on when to go where. I stayed in the largest room (the one at the top of the hotel). It was lovely. And loved the in-house breakfast. Stay here!

We loved our stay at Oltrarno Splendid in Florence! It’s in a great location in the Oltrarno neighborhood—across the river in a less touristy area, yet only a quick 10–15 minute walk to the Uffizi and other sites. The hotel is in a beautiful old palazzo from the 1500s but has a fresh, fun design that feels both stylish and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with fresh pastries, yogurt and granola, and hard-boiled eggs. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable mattress, and we absolutely loved the giant claw-foot tub in the middle of the room—a perfect place to relax after exploring Florence. The in-room Nespresso machine was great for an espresso at our leisure, and cappuccinos are available at breakfast. They also offer wine, prosecco, juices, and soft drinks for purchase, which was a nice touch. We can’t wait to come back on our next visit to Florence!

Fantastic boutique B&B, it has loads of charm and smells amazing! The staff are very friendly and helpful, they provided suggestions for restaurants but weren’t pushy and left to us to choose. Our deluxe room was lovely, loads of space and a freestanding bath as well as large shower. Breakfast was great, continental with lots of options and coffee made to order. Location is greatly situated in Oltrarno - 8 mins from Ponte Vecchio, far enough away to feel more local but conveniently located for everything. Great wine bar at the end of the road and ice cream shop so keep your eyes peeled for those.
