Oly - Review - La Condesa - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"Oly feels like a beachside escape in the middle of the city—it’s an airy space to hang with friends over bright Mediterranean dishes. The sunlit spot—half dining room overlooking a lush backyard, half sidewalk seating—sets the tone with Capri-like breezy music and big open windows. The nduja-spiced scallops and ultra-fresh Greek salad with pickleweed are perfect to share, then move on to the pappardelle with anchovies and harissa that’s buttery, decadent, and somehow still light. A fitting finale is the arroz con leche with earl grey toffee soft serve, followed by a trip next door to the just-as-hip bar, Trampa." - Guillaume Guevara

Mediterranean forward restaurant with both indoor and terrace seating. The vibe is cozy. What I liked: - All the starters were delicious! My favorites were the cabbage, olives, and Greek salad. - The chicken skewer was decent. The meat was tender and the sauce flavorful (though borderline salty for me). - Solid mezcalitas. What could have been better - The short rib fell short for me. It was so salty that I didn’t finish the dish. - Everything was just a tad too salty in my opinion (e.g. the chicken, the green beans). Overall a cute spot for dates. The server was great in helping us identify the gluten-free items on the menu.

Amazing find! Beautiful outdoor seating and the best food I have had in Mexico City after living here for ten years! A must try. I ended up ordering over ten things, all of them outstanding. The scallops, capellini, pavlova, and the house cocktail samphire sour were my favorites. Thanks!

Loved this spot! Solo dined and enjoyed every dish that was recommended. Beautiful setup too and the staff were really friendly. Great vibe, will be back :)

The staff is lovely and welcoming, but the overall experience felt improvised. Several menu and wine options were unavailable, and the wines on offer were poorly stored. Despite the restaurant being less than half full, dishes took a while to arrive. The table next to us seemed to know the manager and were given priority, including their dishes arriving ahead of others who had ordered earlier. The manager even came over to check on them without acknowledging any other tables nearby and she could benefit from additional feedback besides people she knows or influencers. The soup was exceptional and the highlight of the meal. The pastas were fine, not particularly memorable. With a few improvements this place could live up to its potential.

What a stellar experience at this beautiful neighbourhood restaurant. Wonderfully crafted plates. Whisky sours and olives progressed onto elegant lemon pasta, ajo blanco, radicchio and romesco cabbage. Don’t even get me started on the desserts. We loved it all. Cannot wait to come back and try more.

Absolutely loved Oly from start to finish. The bread with olive oil, kofta and inventive teremesu were all delicious, and the service was great as well. Appetizer, two mains, a dessert and two cocktails for under $1000 which is hard to come by at this tier of restaurant. Would return!

Portions are way too small. I get fine dining, but I’ve never been served a scallop as small as I had here. After an appetizer and meal, it was about 750 MXN pesos per person excluding drink, which I don’t mind spending if it’s worth it. I’d rather spend that for a larger portion and better place. The ambiance is very nice and the staff are friendly.
