OM Indian Bistro Restaurant

We ordered three items: sugarcane juice, bhatura chole, and the Delhi chaat. Unfortunately, aside from the sugarcane juice, the rest of the experience was disappointing. The bhatura chole was priced at $14.99, but we were served only one bhatura. It lacked any filling and was dripping with oil—clearly not drained properly. There were no pickles, sides, or even napkins provided. It seems like the expectation is that customers help themselves, but this wasn’t communicated. As for the Delhi chaat, we had asked for papdi chaat specifically, but what we received was a random mix of snacks that didn’t resemble traditional chaat at all. Overall, not happy with the choices we made—but at least we left a little wiser

So good! The paneer manchurian could use more sauce but excellent flavor! Samosas were a tad too spicy but very tasty! Naan was amazing!

Tried Andhra kara dosa, masala dosa and Mysore masala dosa . Taste is good. Went there when there was 1+1 dosa offer.

Not a great experience at all……. We ordered Bhel puri…..very salty and there was no puri in it. There was spice clump in bhel puri. We ordered Baby corn Manchurian……. They gave Baby Corn Manchurian in sweet tomato sauce. We ordered Shahi Paneer Pizza which was TASTELESS. Pizza’s base was so thin like a roti. They served in paper plates. Before going there, I called and confirmed about options they offer in No Onion No Garlic. They confirmed that they do offer dishes which I would like to eat. At least they should have told us if it is not possible to make these dishes rather than saying yes and making our experience worst. They have tons of items in Menu but I think they do not have chefs who can prepare it. We went here with high expectations but I would not recommend this place to JAIN and SWAMINARAYAN people if they are planning to go. However, if you go there since we do not have much options, DO NOT ORDER Indo-chinese, Pizza and chaats. They do not have expertise to make these dishes Thank you🙏🏼

This what they serve for Pani Puri order of $7.99 and give you fryums puri, which you get in $ like 200 puris. Even in buffet you get better than this in other indian restaurants.

Food is good. Taste authentic. Is bistro not fine dine in. You order with the cashier and they call for you order ready kind of fast food places. No waitress. They have a lots of options of dessert. You choose and they put it on a box and charge you for weight I would come back.

The food is always excellent and very flavorful! We ordered the malai kofta and asked for zero spice, but it was still quite spicy so not all of our guests were able to eat it. The other dishes were very tasty and at the appropriate spice level. There are so many vegetarian options. We ordered takeout, but they do have a decent amount of in restaurant seating.

Great home style environment with flavorful food. Very causal indoor setting. Paneer tika masala and bhel puri and paratha were great! I'd be back for more!

This place is really good. I've come here quite a few times and brought a decent amount of friends for the Indian food experience and Om bistro delivers this experience pretty well. Evenings can get pretty busy and a bit chaotic, but if you're patient, you'll be served with really good food. This time around we started off with the Bhelpuri and Gobi Manchurian. This has always been a crowd favorite for me and my friends especially when it's their first times trying it. For the main we split palak paneer and garlic naan which was super good. Their garlic naan is literally the best in the Phoenix Valley. The paneer was delicious, and I really liked the texture as it wasn't way too creamy or way too chunky, it was just perfectly done. Also not to forget to mention is the mango lassi, a nice and thick and well balanced sweetness with mango and yogurt tart flavor. The one downside that we had this evening was that they forgot our rice, and we didn't realize until the end of the meal and then did not ask because it was pretty chaotic with tons of people dining in actively getting orders.

Another instance of bad service .... Ordered dahi sev puri for my kids and specifically told them to make it mild. Still it was served super spicy. When I protested, they did not seem to care. Just told me to add some sweet chutney. The kids had a really bad experience. Then, I had ordered paneer butter masala to go, and when I reached home and opened the box, it was some kind of bhaji. They did not even bother to check if the order was correct. Lesson learnt: Quietly accept what they are serving or face their retaliation at your protest. Not sure if there are trained staff working there, or amateurs. Would have given negative stars, if there was option.

Wide selection of Indian snacks and main dishes. The portions are quite large so it is great for families. What stood out was their paper dosas that were quite literally too big for the table. They could easily feed two people. The food was fresh and tasted good, would definitely return. It is definitely more of a casual eatery. Orders are taken at the register and are called out when ready so since we ordered multiple dishes they all came out at separate time.

OM did a wonderful job with our wedding. Due to our religious dietary restrictions, we had specific requests to make vegetarian food without Onion and Garlic. They were able to meet these requirements and deliver a great product for our guests. Kam and Deepa were great to work with from the start and showed great flexibility when we were selecting our menu. Throughout the planning phase, we changed the menu multiple times, and they were responsive to these changes and gave great suggestions of what they were able to provide us. During the weekend, they were on time and were set up well before the event started. They were both very organized, and we did not have to worry about them at all during our special weekend. After each event, many guests would come to us and tell us how much they loved the food, which is the best compliment one can get at a South Asian wedding. We highly recommend working with them, as they are the preferred caterer for many of the resorts in the Phoenix and Tucson area.

Ordered and paid for shrimp Tikka masala, got home to find chicken . Disappointing to pay extra for shrimp and not get that. Would cost more in time and gas to go back, so not going to .

We love this place! Our office orders from here almost every week. We enjoy the lunch special on Friday and their dosa is not only really yummy but huge (enough for two meals). This place is definitely more authentic than other places so be prepared for a lot of spice and dishes you have never heard of. It is also Veg/Vegan.

I hate giving a bad review but this place is not anywhere I would go again. I was the only one in the restaurant at lunch time and being a vegan asked what the V and S meant on the menu. The cashier wasnt able to answer ( or unwilling) and not wanting to leave I ordered some bread and a side. I really wanted a meal here but I couldnt get answers on them. This was my first trip here but after looking at the other reviews and seeing how bad service is I wont go back. There are a bunch of other Indian restaurants in the area. Check those out instead.

Worst food and worst customer services! There is a beard guy who take the orders he is super rude ! owner take no action against this guy!

I'm not vegan but I really enjoyed my meal here. Tried the "Tuesday-Thursday" Lunchbox. It came with a lentil curry and a tofu tikka masala, with rice, naan and a papadum. It was great. Filling. I couldn't finish it. Will definitely be back. I still haven't tried the lassi... maybe someday

They messed up the authenticity of Indian food by giving bland,sweet and spice-less food ,The beard guy taking orders is the most rude and arrogant person, not sure why owner didn't fire him till now,please try other Indian veg restaurants with better taste and customer-service.

Me and my wife went in for the first time today for dinner and it was delicious! We didn't know what to get or what we wanted so the lady behind the counter was extremely polite and made suggestions even told us and wrote us a note on how to eat everything together she was amazing so kind we will definitely be back and thank you !

Flavors were good. Service was complete sh*t. They need some competent people behind the counter, not people who are lazy indifferent at best. I ordered my food to go and was told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. I found a seat and watched as several to-go packages were placed out on the back counter between 10 and 20 minutes later. At the 20 minute mark, I went back up to the counter and ordered some sweets to-go, from the same guy who took my order. He never bothered to look behind him to see my food there. But at that time, I had no idea that it was actually mine. I figured it was Uber Eats, or some such thing. At that sime time, I also pointed out the water all over the floor from one of the coolers that was clearly having issues. I took the sweets and sat down again, waiting. He never bothered to clean up the water. As a matter of fact, he just disappeared and I never saw him again. At about the 35 minute mark, some guy came from out back and asked what I was doing there. I told him I was waiting for my order. That is when he checked the bags sitting behind him on the counter and asked what my order number was, which was "Table 17". He grabbed it and handed it to me. So I brought home my now soggy food. As I mentioned above, the flavors were good, but eating a plate of mush really sucks. Seriously guys, find some competent help.

We've been to this place a few times. One lady in particular is extremely rude. We got an uncooked dish, when asked politely she starting shouting loudly and said we can either eat or throw it. It was very embarrassing the way she created a scene. Shouting at customers is not cool. If you get a bad dish, just discard it and move on because if you ask them, you'll get yelled at.

Incredible Mysore Masala Dosai Mango Lassi not too sweet which is rare to find. Delicious!

Amazing food. Authentic indian cuisine. We ordered kothu paratha, pawbhaji dosa both were really good! Highly recommended!

The food was very good! OM is our go to restaurant from Sedona, Grand Canyon, etc on the way home. Every time we go the food is delicious, flavorful and comes out piping hot!! The quantity of their food is pretty decent as well. They also offer options without onions and garlic. This time we had family visiting from India and everyone thought the food was tasty!

When you enter the restaurant they pay attention to the customers to take the order but after that their service is late and the food was cold. The most famous and mouth watering snack panipuri was tasting bad. Don't visit the place.

We as a family are frequent visitors to OM. Love their ghee roast dosas, Pani puri and other chaat items. Tasty food.

Updating my previous review. I really enjoy the food here but I cannot ignore the fact of how absolutely horrible their customer service is. Having been here a couple of times and liking their dosas, my recent experience here turned out to be a nightmare. Was there over the weekend, they had just opened. Waited for them to take our orders, ordered dosa, veg uttapam, and chai. Waited for half an hour, no food. Two other customers walked in after we got their food before us. Exactly waited for 40 mins to get the food on the table. In the mean time, while we waited, the server who took our order didn't care to attend us. He kept taking orders over the phone and passing delivery orders to customers who were there for pick up. As being the first customer to walk in their opening hours, and being the last one to be served food, I cannot express enough how frustrated I felt after the food came. The customer service sucks. I would give zero if I could. Never going back even though the dosas and chai are decent!

Very modern designed, spacious, clean, friendly staff, nice ambiance, great food, so many options to choose from. Will visit again for different dishes.

I'm unfamiliar with a lot of Indian food but I had been wanting to try this place for years. I just recently moved back to this area and finally went - they did not disappoint! We had some trouble knowing what many dishes were since there weren't photos, or ingredients listed but what we ordered was SO good! Can't wait to go back! :)

I've been looking for a good vegan-friendly Indian restaurant in the north valley, and OM fits the bill! It's 100% vegetarian, with vegan items clearly marked (except the desserts - those aren't labeled as vegan). The menu is vast - with both Norther and Southern Indian items. We ordered the veg samosa, veg jalfrazee and pav bhaji dosa. The samosa were average - nothing special. The did seem freshly made though. Both the tamarind and mint chutneys were excellent. The veg jalfrazee was our least favorite item. It had a bit of a sweet and sour taste to it, and was very spicy. It was cooked well, but just not to our liking. And note: curries don't come with rice (it's $2.50 extra). The pav bhaji dosa was the best we've had in town. The filling was flavorful and not too spicy. The tomato and coconut chutneys were also outstanding. It was large enough for me to take some home for a second meal. I will definitely go back and explore the dosa menu further! The negatives: It's counter serve, even though the price is as high, or higher, than some table-serve restaurants. The order counter area is often crowded because it takes awhile to review the whole menu and make decisions. It makes the restaurant feel chaotic - especially if you are trying to get past the counter to get your 5th refill of the tiny cups of water. Plus they call you for your items one-at-a-time, so there's a lot of up and down. It's best to sit near where they distribute the food (and bring your own water container).

Came in here alone on a Sunday afternoon @2pm, after a long flight. They close for the afternoon at 2:30pm and open later in the day. Was told that kitchen is closed, no apologies, almost a take it or leave it kind of option. Hope the food is good, but sad to see such service.

The main problem with this restaurant are the associates who assist customers. I have seen multiple instances of customer fighting with the servers. And also personally experienced that they don't welcome any coupon/voucher whole heartedly. Their face will be frowned if you show any voucher, although management offers voucher on 'DiningAdvantage' to attract customers. Regarding the food - They are reasonably cheap and offer variety of indian snacks and vegetarian food. Not so great and authentic but not bad as well. I have mixed reviews for them since few things are good but not all.

The service was good when we went for Thursday dinner although on a previous visit years ago the service wasn't great. The place was clean and the food was great. It's hard to find good dosa in this part of town, but their dosai masala was delicious! Also tried a vegetable curry that was very good. And their mango lassi was above average. We'll be back for their Tuesday 2-for-1 dosa special.

We came here last night and it was absolutely delicious. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the service, which I found to be just fine. They took our order and then we got our food, no problems. My husband and I both had the Paneer Tikka Masala which was SO GOOD. I got it spicy and it wasn't too hot. It was creamy and delicious, and the tofu(?) was very good. The vegetables in it were awesome and dipping garlic naan in it was great. We also got the mango lassi, which I would give a 4/5, but my husband would give it a 5/5. It was slightly too sweet for my taste but was still good.

you're uncultured if you don't like this place super authentic (except for the quesadillas lol)

Today went to Om Indian Bistro 08/16/2023 12:30 PM Lunch with a couple of friends. Waited in line for 5 minutes, and the previous customer who already placed the order still talking about personal stories with the billing person . They were discussing for more than 5 minutes about some other personal stories and our line of customer increased 5 to 6 members waiting. I asked him can you make it fast and tone from the biller is very bad and said if u want food wait in the line else go to different restaurant . He refused to take up my order. The next person in the line who asked the same question to the biller and he said the same thing go to other restaurant if you dont wait in the line. I am one of the regular customer for this restaurant for more than 5 years and the biller who knows me lot well But I did not expected this bad customer service / bad behaviour. I know he is not the owner of the restaurant and he works there . I am still wondering about this rude Behavior from Om Indian Restaurant and not sure why this kind of rudeness to customer. Every one want to have some good time in the restaurant . Please server the good food instead of serving bad customer experience / bad behavior.

Guess we should have been smart enuf to look at the recent poor ratings before coming here. Worst customer service. One of the worst dining experiences ever for us in Phoenix - ordered at 5.16 PM . They couldn't even give the masala papad that doesn't even take 2 mins to make. When I went to check on the order at 5.48 PM which is nearly 30 minutes after we had ordered, They said they will start making the items. I can understand if there were a lot of orders before us. There were only 4 diners excluding the three of us at that time. No proper communication, no respect for people's time , no info on how long the order would take, very poor customer service. It's frustrating - especially when you have kids waiting for that long without prior communication- had they told us it was going to be a long wait more than 30 minutes we would have probably not ordered in the first place

Love love love this restaurant. High quality vegetarian South Indian food; idli, dosa, other tiffins, curry, milk sweets, chat. On week days you can get a lunch box that is filled with foods you don't normally see on a restaurant menu that I find quite tasty but cannot pronounce. The food is pretty consistent and fresh. We've eaten here a couple times a month since they opened.

This is the 2nd time I tried to order food  at OM Indian Bistro however I was unsuccessful.  Both times I came to the restaurant and was never asked if I wanted to order food.  I went to restaurant around 12:30pm on 1/17 and it was not busy.  I had to struggle to get the restaurant workers attention.  When I tried to order Indian Gourmet Veggie Pizza I had to ask him multiple times to place the order.  When I told him I want pizza without cheese he told me "We cant, it wont be good."  I can't have cheese because of dairy restrictions normally its never issue at any other place.  Why is it so difficult to order food at your establishment? I ended up leaving Lost Customer.

Food was delicious and flavorful! We ate in - food was FAST but only options are disposable plates and utensils which made it a bit hard to eat. Family had ordered some items to-go previously and they were not as enjoyable. Glad we ate in and will definitely will be back. Get the three mini dosas instead of one regular - much more manageable and the option for variety is a great plus.

Food and ambiance is good but when the person who welcomes you is rude and unethical then it ruins everything thing. Front desk man who takes the order is very rude with custome. This happens in front of me last this week. There were three men in line in front of me waiting to order. Front desk was done taking order for the one customer in front of them but continue taking personal stuff with her. One of the man asked front desk to please take their order but the cashier was so rude ask the guy to get out of the line ( in loud and rude voice) and said if you can't wait then go find another Indian restaurant. I try to explain the cashiwe this is not right way to talk to customers but he said I don't care. They can leave. He stop taking orders and start doing other stuff to show he will take customers with his choice. I am sure he is not owner. I really want owner to know the first person who customers see in his restaurant is not welcoming.

I really enjoyed my experience at OM. A friend came from out of town and wanted Indian food. Someone recommend OM. The space is large a pretty. Everything looks clean and well organized. We got all food but there looked to be a huge variety of desserts available. They close int he middle of the day for a few hours. There are two specials. One is some curries, the other is a big flat pancake thing with some dips and a sweet little treat. I got that and it was fabulous. My friend also ordered us four dishes and some rice. It was all really good. Most had a really nice level of spice (I like a teeny bit). It was the kind of spice that feels good as it warms you but you don't regret later. We got a butter and a garlic nann (bread). I'd go back just for those... so tasty. All the food was fresh and hot. I also had a yummy mango lassi.

Worst Customer service just like any other Indian restaurant. Food is the only reason, called 7 times in 25 minutes span to place an order as soon as they opened, restaurant was empty at 1125 AM was told they are super busy to pick up the phone to place an order. The disappointment in the hosts face! Terrible Terrible customer service. , I guess no phone orders .

Indian family here giving a review. I highly encourage you to go anywhere else but this restaurant. I consider myself a reasonable person and this review does not come lightly. The food is not even that good but we would drive here because of a few special dishes. Never again. Food is inconsistent, not always hot. The people who work here, I've never been more consistently offended and every time there are one or more issues.

Stop selling and taking order and providing stale food , this is 2nd time we ordered Dosa and had the food poisoning. I am planning to repot to AZ Food division and have taken the food photos.

I tried their vada pav ,batata vada ,puri masala which is puri bhaji and dhokla ..and cakes in dessert.taste wise good . As I ordered to go ,I did not experience dine in atmosphere but value for money .they have good range of Fresh indian desserts ..i had ordered angoori rabdi but did not get in parcel and tht is the only reason I cut a star but they honored it and I gave them proof of my receipts ...otherwise it's 5 star food experience for me.i will surely try their range of dosas and laddoo the next time .also I heard pav bhaji is good here.
