"Aside from typical Northern Indian staples like chicken tikka masala and saag paneer, this Haight spot offers up a ton of plant-focused dishes, with 23 vegetarian options alongside the meat-focused ones. Start with the three pakoras - mixed vegetable, eggplant, and spinach - which are always a crowd pleaser, regardless of your dietary habits. From there, pick either the baigan bharta (eggplant roasted in a clay oven with green peas and spices, in an onion and tomato gravy) or the paneer korma with homemade cottage cheese cooked in a creamy sauce, with almonds, nuts, and raisins. And soak up all the last bits on your plate with some naan or paratha. photo credit: Brit Finnegan" - Grace Stetson

My husband took me to Om for the first time to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious and we very much enjoyed our experience! I love Indian food and appreciate that the entrées were not too creamy, which I have experienced at other Indian restaurants. While there on a random Tuesday night, regulars kept coming in for takeout as well as delivery drivers. Glad to find this gem and we will definitely come back!

I love it. It is pure bliss to taste the food they have. It reminds me of home cooking from my mom. Spicy enough to let you know it's there, but not too spicy to want to chug milk. The service was incredible. The owners were so kind enough to give us a free butter chicken that I intensely appreciated. The atmosphere was that of a gloomy, yet cheerful dance. It's nothing special, but it elevates all other aspects of the restaurant.

I love Indian food and go out often, this restaurant is across the street and I want to love it too. But golly, there are other places that do so much better. Firstly, we never received the friendly service others talk about and don’t be in a hurry when you get here, it’s slow. So I decided to do online pick up order instead. Email sent after order placed had an estimated wait of an hour and never updated itself like other restaurants offer. No text ever about the order. Got there 45 minutes later, thinking I’d be early and food dying on the counter. I walked in, server grunted at a bag on counter as mine, so glad I gave a tip for this service! Pakoras not crunchy, how could it be in a box sealed tight in a bag? Very greasy breaded things and no sauce in bag. Couldn’t even bite through some of it. Why charge extra for rice with the entree? This is not a pilaf, just plain Indian white rice! Butter chicken lacked flavor and was more like overcooked thigh meat in Campbells tomato soup, nothing authentic here. Saag paneer is good and why we return, as is the naan. But frankly, we’ll just drive a block for a more enjoyable experience and flavors.

As a Southeast Asian origin and a mixed race family, we often find difficulties to find a restaurant that really serves "spicy/hot" dishes that are really spicy/hot as many places adjust to cater the customers that actually cannot do spicy/hot dishes. But OM has met our expectations of what spicy/hot dishes should be at our level. The food we ordered have been very tasty. Both husband and wife owners have been very hospitable and generous, giving our one extra dish on the house. Many thanks! My family satisfied with our experiences at OM, we definitely will come back. My foodie Indonesian-American children enjoyed all the menu we ordered, so all is good.

Google
Incredible Indian food! In my personal opinion, as far as taste, quality and price, OM puts Rasika to shame. We had the samosa chaat, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and naan to accompany our dishes. Everything was outstanding, highly recommend you pay a visit to OM if you're looking for great Indian cuisine.

Google
I had family over to celebrate my birthday. We have many dietary restrictions in our group so Indian food is a perfect solution and we all love it. I ordered 9 dishes for 12 people and we had a bit left over too. Every one loved the food. The only problem and it’s very minor but stressful. We pre ordered and prepaid a few days ahead and were to pick up the food at 4:30 Saturday. When we got there the door was locked and the sign says that they open at 5:00. I got really nervous trying to figure out what to do but at 4:35 the owner arrived and gave me my order. Everything was perfect except for that. It seems so minor now but that was a really stressful 5 minutes

I cannot recommend this place enough! I have never ever written a review before but I immediately jumped to write this as soon as I walked out the door. Completely stumbled onto this place today but so happy we did. The service was incredible, our waiter was so genuine and sweet! He took amazing care of us and even gave us free vegetable curry, rice pudding and extra rice to have with our leftovers! We tried 10 different dishes all of them were fantastic! The atmosphere was great, the acoustics were really nice so it wasn’t too loud which is perfect for those who are hard of hearing or for large parties. The food was delicious and is a great spot for a date or to even bring the family! 11/10 will definitely be coming back soon!!

Yelp
The food is delicious and it's a nice atmosphere. Came here on a quiet Monday evening. Service was good and host (I think he's the owner) was friendly. We started with a portion of Samosa Chat and an order of Daal soup ($4.95). We said "two spoons, please" with the soup, and the server on his own split the portion into separate cups for us. Each portion was a full cup. Delicious. And filling (we'll get to that later). The Samosa Chat ($7.95) was a healthy portion and also very tasty. After knocking that off between us, my partner and I looked at each other and said "I'm getting full." Our entrees came shortly after, one Rogan Josh (lamb - $16.95) and one Paneer Matar (paneer and peas in a tomato creamy sauce - $15.95). We also ordered one order of garlic naan ($3.95). Everything was very good. Hot and tasty. We ordered our entrees "medium" spicy. Neither seemed very spicy, so it's likely that if you want your food spicy here that you can order it "spicy" and not worry about it being too much. As I said, we were filling up from the appetizer/soup, so asked for the rest to take out. The server brought over boxes for the entrees, and, in one box, placed a healthy amount of rice into the box, which was a very nice touch. That way, each leftover had a full accompaniment of rice. Honestly, I didn't get around to the Paneer Matar until two days later and it was . . . Outstanding. Even better than when it was originally served. Even the garlic naan still had full flavor and a good texture after a minute in the microwave. In a lot of cases, leftover naan does not fare well. This was still good. The Basmati rice was a bit overcooked (a number of hard rice clumps), but that's a relatively small point in my mind.

Yelp
It's been a long time since I've written a negative review. I gravitate toward the positive... Yesterday I decided to try OM because it was well reviewed on Yelp. I was actually going to my favorite Thai place (in the same strip mall) and decided I would finally try OM (was in the mood for Indian). The Butter Chicken was the worst I've had. The quality of the chicken was awful and the curry sauce was watery with little taste. I'm accustomed to white, breast meat. I have no idea what part of the chicken this meat was from. I asked the server, and she said they don't use breast meat unless you ask for it. I'm accustomed to thicker, hearty curry bursting with flavor. We've lived in many different states with amazing Indian food. When Indian food is cooked well, it's my favorite food (by far). I actually couldn't eat the Butter Chicken. The nice server took it back and asked if I wanted something else. She handled the situation well (as if this wasn't the first time someone has complained). I also ordered Daal soup - it was edible, but not good/hearty. Thin, watery with little taste. I'm simply shocked by all the positive reviews.

Yelp
Tuesday 12/31/2024 I made a pick up order through DoorDash and got the saag paneer $15.95, tandoori platter (chicken, lamb, shrimp, lamb sheek) $20.95, appetizer platter (chicken pakoras, vegetable pakoras, vegetable samosa) $8.95, butter chicken $15.95, bread basket (garlic, tikka/chicken, keema/lamb) $10.45, and the gulab jamun $4.95. Also I received a side of rice for each platter/entree. The service on pickup was nice and friendly. Now the food experience wasn't awful but it was a relatively underwhelming: - the saag paneer was okay but I've had better AND it's overpriced. - The tandoori platter was solid overall and if I was ranking each protein, I'd say chicken-shrimp-lamb sheek-lamb. But even then $21 for the smaller portions you receive is slightly overpriced. - The appetizer platter was pretty underwhelming. The chicken pakora was mid and both the vegetable pakora and vegetable samosa were just okay. They came with a red/brown sauce and a green sauce but the red/brown sauce was the better of the two. - The butter chicken was a huge disappointment as it's easily the worst butter chicken I've tasted. It didn't have that creamy & savory flavor that I'm used to but instead had a strong tomato flavor. - Garlic naan had the most distinct flavor but it could've been cooked properly as it seemed a bit burnt on some sides. - Keema (lamb) naan was cool but I enjoyed the tikka (chicken) Naan more. Also you can't really taste the added flavor from the proteins as much as I thought you would. - Gulab jamun was alright but I've had better AND 5 dollars for that little serving isn't worth it. - Also the rice was below average. Overall, this was easily the weakest Indian food experience that I've had. The butter chicken really disappointed me as that's my all time favorite Indian dish but oh well. Personally, I don't see myself coming back at all as I think they're plenty better Indian food options in the MOCO Maryland area.

Andy M.

Yelp
Outstanding food and generous host. Chicken masala best I've eaten and the garlic naan cooked perfect. We will be back! Party of three.

Yelp
A favorite for my mom and I. We used to live right down the street and would come often. The food is delicious and comes out quickly. The owner is very nice and will take his time to talk through the menu and give suggestions. I highly recommend checking them out, they are a little tucked away in the plaza behind Ihop but very convenient parking and right off Rockville Pike.

Yelp
Food 10/10-the Shrimp Biryani melts in your mouth and is delicious. Service 10/10--Fast, Kind, and Clean Ambiance 10/10 --The most relaxing restaurant music I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. Great restaurant to relax at.

Alejandra R.

Yelp
OM is the best Indian restaurant in the area. The cozy, welcoming ambiance and attentive service, led by owner Luis, make you feel right at home. The Butter Chicken is creamy and perfectly spiced, while the Lamb Biryani is aromatic and flavorful. Generous portions provide great value. Overall, OM Indian Restaurant is perfect for both casual dining and special occasions.

Yelp
delicious and authentic indian food, nice interior, and well mannered waiters and boss. please come

Yelp
This is my family's favorite restaurant! We come here all the time. Definitely recommend the spicy butter chicken and Shrimp biryani. The service is amazing, quiet atmosphere, and the staff are always kind and thoughtful. We are regulars and they often bring us on the house appetizers. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a wonderful experience.

Shawn H.

Yelp
Would not order from here again. The 3 stars for the great customer service! The food was awful. I got shrimp tikka masala and garlic naan. In the tikka masala the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery, and it lacked flavor. The naan was inedible. It tasted awful I could barely get past one bite.

Kelly P.

Yelp
The food was just so bad. I've been here twice so I don't think it's just a one off. The Baigan bharta just tastes off to me? The best thing I can say about any of the dishes I've tried is that they're inoffensive? Sigh.

David J.

Yelp
This review is based on a DoorDash order and so is only based on the food. Disclaimer aside, this was possibly the worst Indian food I've had in Maryland. Frankly, I'm quite upset I wasted money and stomach space on this. I got the butter chicken and lamb vindaloo and both had little to no flavor of any kind. Vindaloo normally comes spicy, but this had neither spice nor any taste. It sat in a thick pool of oil, which made it absolutely inedible. I have absolutely no idea how this restaurant has anything more than 2 stars. I wish I had just gone with my usual Spice Street or Biryani City...

Vanessa H.

Yelp
Amazing indian cuisine in the Montgomery County area. Dining in would be the optimal experience as there are certain dishes that would not taste the same if you do carry out - fresh and hot is always best. Amazing service and there are so many amazing dishes I've taken to-go that have been delicious. I've tried other places in the area and nothing comes close. Give it a try and thank me later.

Meg P.

Yelp
I'm so happy I live close to Om Indian Cuisine because would drive out of my way for their tika masala. And pretty much everything else in the menu. My last order was the typical Butter chicken & it was incredible with their nutty fluffy rice - Yum!! My husband got the rogan josh that had enough spice to be delightful but not enough to light your hair on fire. We also ordered whole wheat roti which is perfect with all the wonderful sauces & curries. The owner is very pleasant is very proud of his delicious cuisine. If you like Indian food please put this on your list.

Yelp
I had credit online from Restaurant.com ($10 off of $20/+) and decided to redeem it at OM because I was craving Butter Chicken. When I called at 5:05 pm (restaurant re-opens at 5:00 pm for dinner) the phone rang busy at each attempt. I decided to wait and call about 10 minutes later (needed to confirm whether the restaurant would accept the coupon). Luckily they did accept the coupon and I placed my order on the phone for pick-up (they didn't offer curbside). Before handing over my card, I shared the verification code of my $10 off coupon when I went to pick up the order. I asked whether the coupon would be applied and was told that the discount was. When I later checked my bank statement, I saw that I was charged full cost of my order, without the $10 off. I called the restaurant and had to call back several times before I could speak to the owner (who worked different hours and was not always at the restaurant) to explain the situation. The owner was the only person, it seems, to be able to offer any solution for the mistake. This was very frustrating in the moment, but I am grateful for the resolution: The owner was kind and explained that although he could not refund me $10, he would offer me another meal of butter chicken (which cost over $10). I took him up on this offer a few weeks later and was able to do so without any issue. The food here is fresh and delicious. I like how the spice level of the dishes can be customized. Plenty of free parking spots available, right outside the restaurant. The customer service here was always great when I spoke to someone.

Yelp
The food at Om is amazingly good - better than any Indian restaurant I've tried. I'm vegan and my husband is not - so many options! We regularly dine in AND order takeout. We have dinner there most often and occasionally treat ourselves to a special lunch. Every dish is made to order - I like very mild seasonings and my husband likes spicy food. The atmosphere is so lovely, pretty, and clean (tablecloths and cloth napkins!!)

Rosalind P.

Yelp
Great food freshly made recommend the Rogan Josh don't forget the mango chutney Service is good Very clean and neat A little Indian Jewel in Rockville

Odeya A.

Yelp
Had dinner at OM and the food was exceptionally good, tasty, and had the right balance of flavors. I highly recommend.

Micah C.

Yelp
Giving this place a 3.5. The service is great if you're dining in. Very polite and quick servers. The food is okay. I ordered the lamb korma (mild) and garlic naan. The lamb korma was slightly bland but the meat was really tender. I wonder if it would've been more flavorful if I ordered medium spice. The garlic naan was soft but the garlic tasted kind of burnt. I also tried my friend's order of spinach bhajia. The flavor was good but it wasn't crispy and didn't taste fresh.

Amanda C.

Yelp
OM Fine Indian Cuisine offers a sophisticated dining experience with its exquisite approach to traditional Indian fare. The restaurant's elegant ambiance, featuring tasteful décor and a warm atmosphere, sets the stage for a memorable meal. The menu boasts a variety of flavorful dishes, including the rich and creamy butter chicken, fragrant biryani, and the perfectly spiced lamb curry. Each dish is prepared with high-quality ingredients and presented with care. The service is attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. With its delicious food and refined setting, OM Fine Indian Cuisine is an excellent choice for both casual dinners and special occasions.

Amy S.

Yelp
I was touched by so many posts on FB about this places and the lovely owners of the restaurant. I wanted to see what the hype was all about. Is it as good as everyone's testimonial? For my first order, I wanted to try everything. I called for a carry-out order which consists of appetizer platter, wings, vegetable makhana, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, and garlic naan. You can customize your own spice level. I got every either medium or hot. They definitely delivered on the heat. Everything was on point. Looking forward to our next order.

Patricia M.

Yelp
The food is very good. We had eaten at the Indian restaurant in this space before this management. It is literally the only restaurant in this shopping center which has an outdoor dining patio, except for IHOP. There are excellent restaurants in this shopping center, including El Mariachi. Yet, Om refuses to open the patio because they say it overlooks a parking lot "which no one wants." In the good months of the year, almost everyone wants to eat outside. Put up flowering hanging baskets & their customer base would double. I don't get their refusal, year after year to open the space. We eat at other Rockville restaurants when the weather is right for outdoor dining.

Gary R.

Yelp
My go to Indian restaurant when I'm in town. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. I love the tandoori salmon.

Sabrina P.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. I've been going here for years and they never fail to provide top quality Indian cuisine. The service at OM is great, and I have never been disappointed by a single dish that I've had. I always enjoy trying new things but my my favorites include the Lamb Biryani, Alu Gobi, Garlic Naan, Samosas, and Papri Chaat.

Natasha S.

Yelp
My wife and I absolutely love Om! It's out GO TO spot for Indian. Our first visit was on a date back in 2017 and we've been regulars since. While we love dining in, we were so happy to be able to enjoy take out and delivery from them as often as we could during the pandemic. They made ordering easy breezy and were available through third party delivery apps. Our top favorites are... Baigan Bhartha Chicken Tikka Masala Daal Tarka Lamb Palak Tandoori Chicken Plain Naan & Garlic Naan Prices are pretty reasonable for the portions and quality. Service is always good! Parking is easy.

Alexis R.

Yelp
The best customer service ever The food is great And the ambience of the place is chill

M C.

Yelp
Have been going to Om for years now. It is nice to have a local Indian restaurant where the food is nice. But first it was one thing that bugged me, now two so reviewing in the hope changes can be made, or at the very least others who have the same issues can avoid going here. Most importantly, I dine in to skip the wastage in take out (a.k.a Plastics), but the last visit was greated by plastic water bottles instead of a glass of water as in many other places. There is also the minor issue of the servers being too attentive, being within ear shot most of the meal.

Matthew Y.

Yelp
A great experience. Louis provided extra butter chicken and desserts free of charge! Food was just right. Worth the drive from Annapolis for authentic Indian food.

Cynthia L.

Yelp
I'm not a pick Indian-flavor connoisseur, so I may not be able to tell you The.Best.Indian spot in the DMV, but I can say OM did a pretty good job in my book. Monday through Friday Lunch Special (2 Sides for $8.99, 3 Sides for $9.99, and 4 Sides for $10.99; with lamb being an extra surcharge). I ordered 3: Butter Chicken - Not overly drenched in oil and sauce. I could still taste the grill of the meat that they had done before placing the sauce on. Spinach & Potatoes - Chunks of soft potato and spinach Chickpeas - Lightly flavored with the curry sauce and firm chickpeas. The naan came out fresh and hot. There was a generous helping of rice served and the service was attentive. I definitely had to ask for a to-go box as even two sides would have left me stuffed to the brim. Minus one for the dirty cutlery at my table; I have terribly blurry eyesight without my glass, but even I saw the green stains on my fork. I thought I might just switch it out with one at my table, but that too was dirty. I thought I was crazy and just started picking and cleaning the fork, but so much green gunk came off I had to just call it quits and politely ask the waitress for a new fork. Despite this, I would definitely come back, thank you!

L L.

Yelp
Tucked away in a small set of store fronts near CVS, this place has some of the best Indian food in the state. We ordered the garlic Naan and the owner was nice and also gave us the house favorite Naan. I forgot the name, but it has fresh tomatoes in it. Delicious. Fresh. Comes out hot, smells great and tastes even better. The lamb korma was delicious and the lamb was so tender and not fatty. The chicken Tikka masala was also delicious and tasted so fresh. I am definitely going back.

Karen Y.

Yelp
What a delightful little gem! It's tucked away in a corner so you wouldn't expect to see Indian cuisine. They drew me in with their lunch special where you can get 2 dishes for $8.99 or 3 for $9.99 or 4 for $11.99. All of them come with rice and naan. This is a great option if you don't want to commit to a large dish but want to try different items. It is limited to a single page, about 11 offerings. The lamb dishes are $2 more. My boyfriend and I started off with the Papri Chaat which was delicious and well portioned for two people. These are the things we ordered, with 1 being our absolutely favorite: 1. Eggplant Curry 2. Palak Alu 3. Chicken Tikka 4. Chana Masala 5. Mixed Vegetables Curry 6. Paneer Matar None of these dishes were spicy, they were savory and were great with the soft rice and crispy naan. The place is quite fancy looking inside and service was great. Overall a fantastic place to visit!

Ruth S.

Yelp
We love the food at Om, but the customer service is so terrible that I'm finally ready to give up on this restaurant. We ordered $70 dinner directly from their website tonight and half the order was incorrect - clearly a restaurant error, not a delivery error. I called and rather try to fix the situation, their basic response was 'so what?' I had Menuify work with them directly and they STILL didn't want to fix the order or give us a refund. Finally they said if we returned the wrong food then we could see. (Ewww.....were they going to serve it to someone else??) no....that's not the point of takeout. Luckily, menuify totally agreed with me and after 30 minutes of negotiation, Om agreed to send the correct order. The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths.....

Natasha Y.

Yelp
My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for a long time, so no clue why I have never left a review, but the time has finally come! The owner, Mr. Lou is an amazing man and I am so proud of him and all that he has done with this restaurant, especially with COVID throwing him for such a loop. He is extremely kind and welcoming; as soon as you step into his restaurant, you will feel his hospitality. He'll stop by and chat and make you feel right at home and ensure you're taken care of properly. Now for the food. I absolutely stan the butter chicken here. It is delicious and one of the best I've ever had. Great flavor profile and consistency! My parents refuse to get anything other than the tandoori platter. If you order it mild, it comes out on a sizzling platter which they absolutely love (quite hilarious to see how disappointed they were the one time they changed the spice and it came out in a bowl due to the smokiness it would have caused). The chicken biriyani is delicious and I'm glad Mr. Lou brought this out for me one day to try it. I also absolutely love the samosa chaat here! You won't regret getting the mango lassi, when I say no other place compares, I truly mean that. I can't rave about this place enough. If you're ever in the area, be sure to stop by and check it out!

Julie K.

Yelp
A gem on Rockville Pike. Great for fine dining and informal socials. My family and I came here for a special occasion and sat in for a meal. We came around lunchtime during a weekday. It's a bit of a smaller restaurant so I'm not too sure if on a crowded day, social distancing would work that well: There was only one other table of customers. The lady who served us was very nice and courteous. She checked on us occasionally and was just very kind! She gave us more rice when we asked and it wasn't extra! Other stores and restaurants will charge a ridiculous amount for rice when they give minute amounts. Will definitely be back:) Now for my individual dish reviews: Butter Chicken The butter chicken was tasty but I think I definitely preferred the Saag Paneer over this! It had a bit more of a strong tomato flavor, reminding me a bit more of a tikka masala and was a bit sweet. I'm more of a fan of hardcore savory or salty person. But my family loved it. Saag Paneer - Always my go to favorite. Never could go wrong with Saag Paneer. It was rich and creamy taste. Paneer was a bit chunky and not that soft but still wonderful. The spinach tastes amazing! To compare it to something else, it's like creamed spinach, but a lot better imo! Biryani Ive never tried a biryani that tasted like this! It does not taste like the rest of biryanis I've had before. It was very light and not too oily or heavy. Somewhat distinct flavors with strong grilled onion taste and aroma, not bad it was delicious. Bread Platter In our bread platter we got garlic naan, keema naan, paneer naan. The paneer naan was delicious. Definitely my new favorite. Has very small chunks of paneer in it, somewhat reminds me of cottage cheese texture. The keema naan was very light though, a bit skimped on the filling but tasty nonetheless. I also enjoyed the garlic naan but like the biryani it has a strong onion flavor. Not that much butter flavor. I think more of a slather of butter would really elevate the bread! But I still thought it was delicious. Appetizer Platter This was definitely delicious. Such an abundance of fried fritters that were so tasty. The samosas (my forever favorite food ever) were very crisp and tasted amazing with the chutneys. There were different veggie pakoras inside as well. So delicious!!!

Thomas M.

Yelp
The saddest example of chicken vindaloo I have ever seen in my life. It's not even the right color for starters. In addition I asked for spicy which is the highest heat level and this had no spice at all. The curry is super watery as well. I have no idea what this dish is supposed to be but to call it vindaloo is a crime.

Alex N.

Yelp
Delicious Indian dishes; impressive menu selection with many options from chicken to lamb to seafood to vegetarian in form of curries, tandoori or biryani, etc. Food: Samosa - 5/5 Samosa chaat - 4/5 - good overall taste but I'd rather not have it already smushed up for me Butter chicken (chicken makhani) - 5/5 - I expected the coloration to look slightly different than the tikka masala but it essentially had the same color, only distinguishable by cilantro bits over top Chicken tikka masala - 5/5 Lamb do piazza - 4.5/5 - quite tasty but probably not the best lamb curry that I've tasted Garlic naan - 5/5 Mango lassi - 4/5 - Not as freshly aromatic as I've had elsewhere Ambience: Moderate sized; seating available inside and outside; features some traditional Indian decor Service: Friendly, fast, attentive

Kallis M.

Yelp
Good and quality food but somehow I do not like their garlic naan (too crispy) and white rice (old). Over all good but yes you can try.

Dj S.

Yelp
The butter chicken was juicy and savory. Hidden gem in the DMV for authentic delicious Indian food. Can't wait to try their other dishes!!

Jeannine E.

Yelp
Really good I would suggest you add this to your favorite spots. I had the chicken Tikka Masala which was absolutely amazing.

Ed W.

Yelp
OM Indian cuisine is good and unpretentious. This very casual restaurant serves really good food with a homemade taste. Everything is perfectly seasoned and fork tender. We tried quite a few things like Papardam and chutneys, lentil soup (delicious), chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, spicy lamb korma (also very good) and a tandoori mix. All accompanied with white rice and perfectly delicious nan. My favorite was the Lamb korma. Big flavors and the spice level to give you a good kick while using your bread with the sauce to cool it down a little. Delicious. The chicken tikka masala sauce is so good you can probably have it just by itself. Overall, it is a great little place with superb service and an inexpensive menu. Definitely give this restaurant a try. It is very good.

Yelp
Have ordered take out here a few times but last night was the first time since covid times. They have a simple plan for ordering over phone, pull up and let them know your name then bring the order to your car. You can give card info over the phone ahead of time also to eliminate that in person. That's enough ordering info, what we are here about it the food, and it's GREAT!!! Every time we order our whole family loves it! My fave is their Vegetable Makhani! They have the full menu available, we like to get a couple dishes so we can imagine we are at our own Indian buffet at home! ;) One last hot tip during these crazy times, ordering directly from restaurants and picking up not only eliminates all those crazy fees delivery services charge us as customers but they also charge the restaurants a percentage of each order. So avoid all that, support local and order direct!

Yelp
New favorite to-go Indian restaurant! Ordered Goan fish curry and garlic naan, was not disappointed! Flavors on point and the fish curry was absolute delicious! Owner was super friendly too! Hopefully see more people dining in the restaurant, it was nice decorations and environment.

Yelp
I'm done with Om. Their food is good but I'm tired of finding someone's disgusting hair in it. Their kitchen staff seems opposed to using hair nets. This wasn't a one-time thing. It has happened often over the many years I've been getting takeout from them. There are too many other good Indian restaurants in the D.C. area to put up with this. So long, Om.

Yelp
Walking into a nearly empty restaurant is often a bad OMen. And just a few minutes after sitting down I couldn't stop thinking ... ommmm, what in the world is going on? I've been to Om several times and it is usually fine, roughly a 3-star experience. It's hard to beat a lunch special with 2-3 items, rice, and naan for under $10. But today was a 1-star trip that may sour me from ever returning. Everything I was served was cold. All of it. The only thing that was remotely warm was the keema (lamb) naan, which probably isn't ordered too often, so they had to make it while I was there. That was actually worth the extra $1 (pro tip: upgrade the plain naan to any other kind of naan for $1 at lunch). The palak alu tasted especially bad at that temperature, and it was basically just three small pieces of potato on top of spinach. I don't like being overly critical of service staff, especially when they are nice as they were today, but this experience was pretty weird. Most of the time I was there the only person "working" was a young woman who may or may not actually work there. I couldn't tell if she was just helping out or if she was an actual employee. She spent the entire time chatting with someone on her cell phone and eating her lunch in plain sight. There were only two other guests in the restaurant. Moments after I walked in they sent back something (I didn't see what it was) that was not cooked through. The waiter was very nice about it, admitted that it was undercooked, and rushed to get a replacement. I'm glad it was handled the right way, but it made me even more concerned about what was going on in that kitchen. I live with an Indian family full of fantastic cooks. I think the next time I'm craving Indian food I'll just stay hOMe.

Yelp
This place is stupendous. I don't get out enough anymore to try new places but this one is a gem. I was introduced to it by a dear friend of mine and I couldn't get the Rogan Josh out of my head so I had to come back with my husband and we got to try more new things. The owner and server we had were wonderfully hospitable, and our time here was like a delightful escape.
