"Om Wok, owned by Sonam Yarpel and his brother Tsering Rabgyal, serves especially soupy momos that resemble a xiao long bao. The restaurant has locations on Northern Boulevard and in Jackson Heights. Om Wok reclaimed the 'Best Momo' title at the Momo Crawl festival in 2023."

I absolutely loved their potato cheese spinach momos and would definitely go back there for those. The spicy fries are spicy and worth trying if you like spicy food. The fried. Rice was nice too. We also got the Hakka noodles which were okay. I have had better ones at other locations at Jackson heights. Since we are vegetarians we didn't try their non-vegetarian momos which made them the winners of the momo crawl!

Google
The Momo's here are amazing especially at this price point! They're SO big and the meat and dumpling skin tastes really good and fresh. The hot sauce is actually hot ! 8 pieces is more than enough for two people. I had the fried and steamed momo to compare (I did like steamed more, plus it transports better) and the thenthuk (soup with hand pulled noodles). Both were fresh and had a great homemade taste that I love! The lady up front was also nice, recommending popular dishes since it was my first time here. Also conveniently has parking in the back and large seating area! I'll be back to try the rest of the menu :) *Note there is a fee for credit cards which she warned me about*

Google
I went there for a brunch so ordered an aloo khasta,t momo, chicken steam momo and a regular fried rice. Momo were juicy and the taste was decent. I liked it and definitely recommend🤗

Google
Love Om Wok’s momos! No wonder they won the Momo Crawl for best momos 2 years in a row! I even got them to do catering for my work meetings. Delivery is always on time and everyone loves the food.

Google
unfriendly server didnt even say hello.I have been there many times before when i used to live in NY and i like their beef momo but its seem nit tonhave same taste it used to be in the begnning.and i have ordred many times frozen momo chicken/beef both.yesterday after a while i went to have lunch and i had spent $89:40 ( including tax )& they charge me +93.40 ($4 extra) except tax and i asked why the lady rudly said it is the extra fee which we called convienence fee we have written in the menu and showed me it was at the end of the menu and was hidden.it wasbt written on the receipt too. they charge me that money bcz i paid in credit card not cash.i was like really? i had never checked it before which i should have.I felt wried but i could do nothing and besides that i tipped in cash minimun 18% which was $16+.having that kind of service i should have not tipped but i know its part of their job and i cant be rude to server just bcz owner charge me extra $4 ,which for me it didnt make scense and i wonder if they charge that extra fee for pick up order as well or only for dine in.In that case not gonna dine in anymore its too much money to waste and also would not recomend anyone from my circle anymore which i used to .Good luck for your business !

Google
We have just ordered delivery for paneer and momo to enjoy our lunch among friends But the food was so disgusting that it ruin our day today. Especially the paneer was without salt. There was no taste and it looks so bad. Worse experience ordering it from here .

Google
Wanted thai food in my neighborhood and this showed up being the closest one. They are not an actual thai restaurant but more like Tibetan-Indian-Thai. I ordered a yellow curry with chicken, chicken Manchurian, steamed momos which were filled with beef and potatoes. The place has seating capacity for 50 people. The decor and ambience is mostly Tibetan with a mural on one side showing the Tibetan landscape and few yak dolls. Our order came out in a reasonable amount of time. The chicken Manchurian was slightly diff from what i have had but it was still pretty good. The best was the yellow curry though. The momos felt they were made before and then put in for steaming according to the orders because the covering felt a bit chewy. I thought it would not be enough for two people but it was a reasonable amount. Would recommend it to check out if in the area. Try to order the Tibetan dishes as those look like their specialty.

Google
I’m surprised for the price I just spent on my meal to cost $28 where the portion was extremely small. I would say tops tops $22. Honestly I been going here for years and now what the hell is this!! I should have checked before I left but the bag was stapled. Also the cashier lady was rude

Denise A.

Yelp
We came here to try last year's momo champion during the 2024 12th annual momo crawl. These momos were larger than any of the others we had tried (24 places participated) and had a moist and flavorful meat filling. Definitely a top choice for momos. The restaurant is very small and intimate and I would love to return to try some other dishes.

Emma L.

Yelp
The rice was old and the chicken was soggy. After eating our stomachs felt ubcomfortable.

Dee C.

Yelp
I ordered a bao bun expecting it to have meat inside, but it was just bread. Please indicate in the description that it is only bread. Who actually wants to order just bread? Will not order from this place again.

Tanja T.

Yelp
What we ordered: 1: Shadhaklep, Shrimp Chili Garlic Fried Rice and Chicken Fried Rice 2: Shrimp Chili Garlic Fried Rice 3: Fried Beef Momo (8 pcs) 4: Chicken Fried Rice 5: Steamed Beef Momo (8 pcs) 6: Spicy French Fries Om Wok is highly recommended as one of the main restaurants to visit during the Momo Crawl. We decided to order their steamed and fried beef momos and they did not disappoint! Dumplings are HUGE, come in hungry! We stated off with the spicy french fries which were very crunchy and addicting. The Shadhaklep, which is a fried pie with beef filling was delicious. We also had the shrimp chili garlic fried rice and chicken fried rice and both dishes were super flavorful and filling. Overall...not only did this place have delicious food but it was also extremely affordable! We definitely recommend you giving it a try if you're ever in Jackson Heights, Queens!

Sejla A.

Yelp
I only ordered take out food for pick up from here once. We were craving momos and ended up getting the beef momos. One plate which included about 8 large momos was $10. I'm used to having the smaller momos so when I had Om Wok's momos I was shocked at the size. They're huge and one plate is definitely shareable among two. They do have soup in them which tasted great. Their red sauce definitely gives a kick so be weary how much you put on your momos. The momos we had were good but definitely large and can be messy to eat haha.

Vishnu G.

Yelp
The food is very good and inexpensive. I had a veg thenthuk and potato cheese spinach momo. The momos were cooked to just the right chewiness with a creamy filling. The noodle soup was warm and slightly tart, with chewy noodles and vegetables. The chili oil provided at the table was a nice accompaniment. There is very limited seating so taking out might be for the best when it is busy.

Lillian L.

Yelp
So this review is only for beef momos. And why? This place is winner of the infamous Momo Crawl, for a few years in a row! And after trying them, I can see why. I've tried versions from other restaurants and it's such a difference. Others can be dry, small, tough and chewy. Nothing worse than chewing on a Momo dumpling skin like it was gum. What is a Momo? A version of a dumpling from the Tibetan and Nepali cuisine. At Om Wok, the momos are huge pillowy bundles with juicy beef filling. Nice and flavorful. Watch out when you take a bite, the liquid from the filling may squirt out. I am saying this as juicy beef liquid, drips down my favorite shirt. A very small place with a couple of tables. Not much room to stand around. A very tight squeeze. A television is hung high on the wall, for your viewing pleasure. Super tiny place, so dining areas are also used for storage. Service is quick, friendly and efficient. Looking to try your first Momo? Come here! Start with the best first!

Dixya G.

Yelp
This review is for the Jackson Height location. I took some of my friends who were visiting New York to try tibetian food. We went there on a saturday night and this place is small with both indoor and outdoor seatings. Everytime i went there, the foods were very salty, but this time it was good. I am south asian so i eat spicy food, but it was very spicy for me. We got beef momo and i felt like it got way too big, but juicy. Some aloo dum ( potatoes), pork chilly with tingmo, beef shyabhaley and C. Momo. Service was fast, but we ordered a lot of food, so had to take it to go.

Debra B.

Yelp
Their food is so good. This weekend we ordered chicken w broccoli (a bit spicey, but yummy), chicken fried rice, shrimp with lobster sauce and their delicious beef Momo's! It was a delicious feast. Nice sized portions. We're always happy when we get food from Om Wok!

Nikki C.

Yelp
Pretty yummy comfort food in the heart of Jackson Heights. Went here w a few friends for lunch and it was a memorable experience. We got the momos of course and I wasn't expecting it to taste like a warm hug around my tongue. The fries had a kick to it as well as the rice. The seating itself is very limited however they provide take out as well. I will be coming back to try out what else they have to offer!

Wendy L.

Yelp
This place has previously won the Momo Crawl competition and I can understand why. Their Momos are juicy and huge! I had the beef momos and surprisingly it has soup inside which was so flavorful. You should use the spicy sauce provided on the side, definitely not for the weak on the spice but is so addicting. $10 is such a steal for such big momos. This is a small store with some seating, cute place would come back again Friendly and attentive service, and it seems like it's family run?

Rick M.

Yelp
This is a nice little hidden hole in the wall restaurant just off Roosevelt Blvd. Only enough seating for maybe 12 people and two tables outdoors. Food is delicious and at a great value. There's a reason why they won the Momo Crawl award twice. Will definitely come by again.

Liz C.

Yelp
***Quick Service, Walk In Friendly, Parking Available*** We were looking to find a place to grab a quick bite. The service was quick and I appreciated how the food came out very fast. The noodles were a bit oily to our liking, but the soup with the lunch special was a large portion.

Jane K.

Yelp
The food is great, especially the momos and the thenthuk. But the SERVICE--eh. One of the staff, a young woman, is unreliable. Honestly, I feel bad for her because she seems so young. She abruptly asked us what we wanted to order and didn't realize she hadn't even given us menus. For payment, we left 2 credit cards with the check, assuming she'd know to split it. Instead, she chose to put it all on one card without even asking which card. When I pointed out that we wanted to split it, she groaned and looked frustrated. Why else would we put 2 cards down? The other waiter we've had, a different woman, is so much nicer and more attentive.

Lasana S.

Yelp
Om Wok came highly recommended as one of the main restaurants I should visit during the Momo Crawl. In fact, I was eating momos at Nepali Bhanchha Ghar. A young woman sitting next to me said she had gone to 18 different restaurants during the Momo Crawl and although Nepali Bhanchha Ghar had won the competition 4 years in a row, she said Om Wok was her favorite. I didn't have much room left in my stomach, but I knew I had to try the beef momo at Om Wok. The restaurant is a bit difficult to find. It's not on Roosevelt Avenue as the address states but on 41st street. It's a small restaurant with very little inside seating. However they do have a few tables outdoor as well. The beef within the beef momo was one of the best I ever tasted. It was juicy and delicious. The wrapper was thin and not too chewy. Delicately made. I also ordered a Thai iced tea which was amazing. Definitely one of the best ones I've had in awhile. As my friend and I were enjoying our beef momos and Thai iced teas, there started to be a lot of commotion coming towards the restaurant. We were wondering what's going on? Out of 31 momo restaurants in Jackson Heights, Om Wok won the popular vote as the best one for 2022. It was memorable to be there as the staff was notified and given a Momo championship belt. So make sure you try these award winning momos!

Maria S.

Yelp
Customer service was good, the Tom Yom soup was ok, not really as described I was hoping for more mushrooms I literally had one tiny piece of mushroom in the entire soup.

Dechhen S.

Yelp
Om Wok serves my favorite beef momo. The momos are huge and they are perfectly juicy. I also love getting them frozen to make at home. The store itself is small but has both good outdoor and indoor seating. Their spicy fries are also really good with delicious spices and crispy.

Quanese M.

Yelp
stick to what you know..i dont recommend getting noodles or chinese takeout here. go across the street or you'll be disappointed. i only recommend the MOMOS, LOLLIPOP CHICKEN and other tibetan dishes. nothing else

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Om Wok was voted to have the best Momos in the 2022 Momo Crawl. We arrived here around 8pm on a Friday and the restaurant had one occupied table. We were seated right away and ordered the beef Momos and spicy tripe. It felt like a mom and pop shop as there was only one person working the registers and serving / hosting the restaurant. The beef Momos were much bigger and juicier than I anticipated. They taste amazing with the hot sauce provided. The spicy tripe was also an interesting yet addicting dish. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

Roger H.

Yelp
Came here after hearing that this place won the 2022, momo crawl and ordered a wide variety of things here. Ordered the chilli momos, chilli chicken (kai chi) along with the steamed beef momos. While the chilli momo and kai chi were decent they werent all that memorable, the stand out star of the show here is definitely the steamed beef momos! Had my fair share of momos but ive never had momos that were as juicey, umami filled and as rich as the ones ive had here. It reminded me of a weird hybrid of a momo with soup dumplings almost with how much juice was in it. This along with all the condiments to go along with the momos, i could see why they were the 2022 winners

Pankaj M.

Yelp
Finally got a chance to dine in past week. Ordered beef momo's and beef chowmein. Momo's were some of the best I've had. Akin to massive soup dumplings! a lot more flavorful and meatier. Beef chowmein as very flavorful, with smokiness from wok hue. Cozy little place where I'll go back again and again. Service was friendly, attentive and quick. Lastly- Kudos to the chef!

S L.

Yelp
I absolutely loved their Momos (Steamed Dumplings) and Chilli Pork. A must try...! The hot sauce on the side adds fire to the fury :))

Nuna C.

Yelp
Yes. Just yes. Yasssss. Fast and kind service. Clean and small space. The Tibetan items we ordered brought me life. I love this spot. Spinach and potato momos all day. The c-momo were god damn good. Shredded potatoes were surprisingly tasty. Btw these items had KICK to them so be prepared, both burn-off-your-face spicy and tasty/flavorful. Super casual environment, but comfy too.

Zahra A.

Yelp
the best momos hands down, try the c momos and the beef momos! the service is also really good, it is a small place though

Aastha U.

Yelp
Dropped in to try their momo since they won the momo crawl. I think beef is probably the way to go here -- I ordered chicken momos and while they were tasty and juicy with the unique bite of celery, they didn't blow me away. Small space with a couple tables.

Alresch J.

Yelp
This has been my go to spot since I moved to the area for work in Oct. The customer service and consistency can't be beat. This is my initial foray into Nepalese/Tibetan food and after a few visits I was asked whether I would like to try some of the home style items and I would have been an idiot NOT to give em a shot. My favs have been the spicy beef with the mixed veg. It's been my go to so much so that when I was in the hostess put's in my order while I get a seat and go wash up. Please so support this fantastic small business.

Tashi D.

Yelp
Ordered 3 dishes chicken chowmein, beef fried rice and beef shabhaleb. The service was good. Food came fast was hot and delicious. My favorite Tibetan restaurant. Various dishes to try and in large portions. Highly recommend this place am definitely coming again.

Maram A.

Yelp
Just ordered general tsao chicken and it was disgusting. It was squishy and slimy and fatty. The 'meat' didn't taste like chicken at all. It wet bt straight in the garbage and in on my wart to another restaurant to get the same order. The only good thing was there green broccoli but it went in the trash with the slimy squishy 'meat.' Mera's Tip: stick to the momos

Sanjani N.

Yelp
Service is good, and our server was very kind. Beef momo was delicious! ! Also had some veggie noodles, spicy fries, and Szechuan chicken. Noodles are a little dry but went well with chili oil. Szechuan chicken could be better. Definitely coming back for momo!

Denise V.

Yelp
Delicious food. Amazing prize. They delivery it quickly. Great portion size! Beef with Broccoli, Egg Rolls, everything is delicious

Demi P.

Yelp
A great hole in the wall to get momos. We got the beef momos and a chicken dish with buns to dip in. We also got like a fried version of the momos- something similar to empanadas. You got to dip the momos in the spicy sauce. The food can be spicy but it was tasty.

Ingrid S.

Yelp
This restaurant is all over the place. I came out to Jackson Heights to check out my friends' new place and we went for lunner (dunch?) here. You get your choice of Thai, Chinese, Indian, or Tibetan food along with a mural on the wall that I at first questioned if it was a landscape of Mexico and then later thought about it and realized there are some form of temples that look like pyramids and mountains probably in like Nepal or Tibet. But I'm still weirdly getting this adobe Mexican village vibe. The place is pretty empty which makes it great for bringing in kids. The drinks - nothing too remarkable. You have cheap watered down beer and cheap flavorless table wine for $5. I think if they concentrated their focus on a cuisine the food could be better. I tried their spicy crinkle cut fries which are one of the random things that tasted the best. Their momos are also pretty decent - but only the beef. The potato are pretty horrible. It's like they tried to americanize something that should never be americanized. I think they were going for a thanksgiving take on a dumpling so it had celery and carrots finely diced into the mashed potato mixture and it tasted just gross. Stick to butter and chives, salt/pepper and you're good. My friend went the indian route and ordered chicken tikka masala. It wasn't spicy which was good for her but it didn't taste like indian food. It tasted like a thicker tomato soup. I ordered the shrimp pad thai. Shrimp were fine but the noodles tasted kind of weirdly sweet and I noticed the color was more orange than normal. I'm curious if they dumped sweet chili oil on top of it or even worse a duck or sweet and sour sauce and called it a day. But it's pretty hard to mess up pad thai I feel and this just didn't taste that good. I think because there are so many cuisines, its just suffering a little. Don't change the beef momo recipe though. Those are pretty great. Two thumbs up.

Christina t.

Yelp
The food is fresh and tasty always. My parents lives in the area and found this restaurant and love the freshly made delicious Beef Momo! Of cause, I started going to get Momo when I visit them. (both Chicken and beef are delicious). I also tried a few chicken dishes such as Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Marsala, great taste! Their prices are very reasonable too. I highly recommend this cozy restaurant.

Nelson D.

Yelp
Previously I have it a couple of stars. They were so slow that it affected my review. Now it's up to 4 stars, if they can speed it up they get a 5. I love the Tibetan dishes the most. Laping is spicy delicious. Lollipop wings awesome. I just love momos, pretty good. I like it all. Sin my favorite is the beef Chilli. Is available in chicken and pork also. Spicy good. My favorite. If you like Indian. Butter chicken hits the spot. Wonton soup nice broth. As a matter of fact I'll bump it up to 5. Highly recommend. Family owned basic good fare from good people

Nicole N.

Yelp
Om Wok is not a regular Chinese take out restaurant. It is a fusion of a variety of Asian cultures: Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Nepali. My office decided to order Chinese take out and I tried their hot and sour soup and beef with broccoli. The beef with broccoli came with a mountain full of beef but the sauce could have been thicker. The proportion was large but the entree as a whole was dry. The hot and sour soup was too watery and the pieces of vegetables were tiny. I could taste the Nepalese flavors and spices but it was too strong to be in the soup.

M D.

Yelp
Closest momos to La Guardia airport, and they were a delight after a late evening arrival - enormous, studded with cilantro and green onions and broth like a soup dumpling. We left happy with full bellies.

John M.

Yelp
i been eating here more then 100x food is amazing . they have the best momo in nyc i believe they won the momo crawl. and very good lunch special.

Cynthia R.

Yelp
Do not order from here. I ordered food waited a half hour, tried to call the restaurant for over a half hour, no answer, finally someone from the restaurant called me to tell me they cancelled my order because they are busy. What a poor way to run a business. I will never order from here ever again. Terrible

Lucia D.

Yelp
Ordered delivery to the Hampton Inn LaGuardia airport. The person taking the order was polite and efficient. The food came in under 20 minutes and was warm and looked appealing-- no complaints. The taste of the food was average. I ordered pad Thai and the papaya salad. The pad Thai was noodles with thin coating of sauce, a small portion of crushed peanuts, and maybe there could have been more chicken, but there just enough pieces that I didn't complain. There was no bean sprouts or cilantro, but at 8.95, what do you want? The papaya salad was crisp strips of papaya with a piquant sauce. Not bad but I'm used to having a papaya salad that has some other ingredients --lettuce or cucumber slices, something to break up The flavor profile every once in a while.

Tashi S.

Yelp
This restaurant is nearby my house. I always see this place while walking but I don't go in bc I see this restaurant empty most often. But, today I decided to visit this place with my friend. We were very hungry and this place came to my mind. I didn't anticipate some dish to be spectacularly great. Food killed it! I loved it very much. The food that we ordered was laphing, chicken momo mixed with soup, pork chilli and chowmein . Everything was great The part where I was little disappointed is the service. Their service is mediocre , not so attentive towards the customer.

Jissel D.

Yelp
Om Wok offered okay prices for not so tasty food. The lunch specials look good on paper and in quantity but the food was bland. I ordered the yellow thai curry, penang thai chicken and the noodle lunch special. All came with soup. None were too spicy, which is great for me because I do not like spicy food, but all dishes hinted of regular tasty thai flavors. The crab rangoon was the worse out of everything I ordered because it was burnt...as can be seen from the photo. Another horrible item was the beef gyathuk. This was basically water with salt, noodles and small strips of beef. The only way to eat this is if you add some beef stock and or beef bouillon and garlic in order add some flavor. I also ordered the butter chicken which had a odd red color and was extra watered down. It did not taste like butter chicken. The only item I would purchase again was the shadhaklep. This came with about 8 mini fried pies with beef filling and they were delicious!! Other than that everything else was bland.

Nikki M.

Yelp
I'm giving it three stars because the service is good , I wanted to give two stars for the Shrimp Pad Thai , the shrimp were the baby shrimp you got 4 there was no vegetables it had no taste. I have ordered before and it was pretty good but won't be ordering again . I will walk a few more blocks and order from Black Thai . prices are higher and you get less food.

Jia T.

Yelp
Bad Service ...Just got my food now after 40mins of bad attitude .... I've been to this place many times and the staff is always friendly and welcoming . Today is the first time I was disappointed. My order was very simple . I ordered 2 chilli paneer appetizer , 1 soup and an order of noodles ..I had to wait for 40 mins for the food . The person who attended us seemed to be very rude and didn't even apologize for the delay. When I asked for paper goods , she said she didn't have and when I asked for a extra soup container so my kids can have in the car since we had to wait so long for the food she refused to give and her attitude was really bad like she was giving me food for free. I haven't tried to food as yet ..It better be good after the long wait and bad attitude. Will update about the good after I try it.

Eddie M.

Yelp
By far the best momos I have ever eaten. High quality beef, wonderful broth. Their soups are amazing, and the service is great. Also, extremely affordable. They won the Jackson Heights momo crawl this year (2022).

Mariah M.

Yelp
I ordered a general Tso's chicken that was labeled as a spicy dish but came as a very bland not hot or spicy and honestly just taste like bbq sauce thrown on some chicken. The broccoli was very bland. They forgot sauce for my spring rolls so that was also a bland item. When I returned for sauce/ to exchange my order they gave no options on how to make my experience better. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the service and taste of the food here. I will never order that item again and most likely will never return to this establishment. The spring rolls weren't good either.

Wren A.

Yelp
I dont know why my mom insists on eating at this restaurant but today is the last time we are ordering anything from here. We ordered a bunch of food today one of them being 2 orders of sha bhale but instead they gave us fried momo which was flattened to look like shabhale but any tibetan who has eaten shabhale would know their lazy asses were too lazy to actually make what we ordered. Ridiculous

Edward M.

Yelp
Ordered food they said 30 minutes 1hr later , called several times finally answered they said they were busy so they cancelled the order and didn't tell me.Will never call or order from them again. Worst place ever, plus the food is hit or miss stay away

Tammy M.

Yelp
Omg!!!!! My chicken pad Thai is soooooo fresh and delicious . I'm visiting from Virginia and this is the best Thai I've ever had. I tasted my Friends order of chicken masala and that Also had fresh clean flavor. The meat was nice and juices and the veggies were crisp. The delivery was also right when they promised. My food was not Spicy at all. If you want spicy food you best say so. They did include hot sauce, soy sauce, and duck sauce for me to make it to my taste . I didn't need it though

Tony P.

Yelp
We have ordered from here a few times before. The food was usually very good. NOT TODAY! Called for a delivery. Food was almost 2 hours late! I called the restaurant a few times, they kept saying "the food is on it's way, the driver got lost" and I got about 5 "I'm sorry" food finally gets here 2 hours later. I told the delivery guy the restaurant said he got "lost" he said they lied. Then I got more "I'm sorry sir" As far as the food...not good at all! Beef noodle soup had no flavor, chicken fried rice had no flavor, chicken tiki masala had no flavor! We had to put everything in the microwave because it was cold. Last time I will order from this place.
