"Fast casual Korean restaurant Oma Bap, which specializes in customizable bibimbap, opened a location on Capitol Hill near Cal Anderson Park. The new restaurant retains the Central District’s format, which lets customers choose a base of rice, noodles, or salad. From there, they can add vegetables, meat like short ribs or pork belly, and toppings like kimchi, pickled radishes, sesame seeds, a fried egg, and sauce. The restaurant also offers five pre-developed bowl options. The Capitol Hill restaurant serves a few new dishes like sliders, rice cake skewers, Korean pancakes, fried chicken, and Korean beer and wine." - Megan Hill

Google
Solid. Wasn’t too keen on the chicken in the chicken bibimbap. Its tasty, but it’s a ground, spiced, chicken mash rather than strips. The fried chicken is very good. Potstickers average. Kimchee/pork pancake was greasy, but very good at the same time; loved the chewy texture. For the price, I’d definitely return. All in all, quite good, just not anything special enough to bump it up to 5 stars.

Google
This place has really good, fresh food that is prepared quickly. Came during a small dinner rush but our food was ready in less than 10 min. Everything was good. My favorite was the KFC sweet garlic. The space was clean and a nice open space

Lily

Google
The place gets warm with the open kitchen despite the ac and a crack window so might be better to sit outside or do to go. This is a place where you order and pay up front , then bring out the food and you bus your own tables. Table and water are in a corner. My fried said her fried rice was too salty. My fried chicken bowl with no rice was tasty so my review is a reflection of the food I got. The chicken was not soggy despite covered in sauce The rice bowls that both of my friends got were steaming hot. They had to wait for it to cool down before eating.

Google
I do really love bulgogi bowl and combo bowl here😆 Beef and veges are fresh, also the service is sweet. I highly recommend their combo bowl coz that’s really a large size 🫡 And when you finish your lunch or dinner you can enjoy a walk in Cal Anderson Park, it’s super nice to have a lovely restaurant near the park.

A bowl of KFC plus the Jeon Pancake solved our hunger pangs. Quick service + yummy food and free street parking around the corner. Looking forward to our next visit!

Google
I’m sorry to give a low rating but I have to. I ordered Bibimbap and almost everything was wrong. I ordered beef but got chicken. Half of the toppings are wrong. I also ordered rice mix salad but got rice only. The chicken is in small pieces and sweet, and very oily. The seafood pancake is the worst I have ever had. This is not a seafood pancake. Its sticky and way too oily. It’s full of oil. I can’t eat it at all. This is the worst delivery I have ever had.

Google
Oma Bap is a cute and convenient fast casual Korean spot mainly serving Bibimbap, Fried Rice Bowls and a variety of drinks and sides. It's a great spot when you're in a pinch and need something fast, or aren't sure where to go. The location is central, so it's easy to get to from most spots in capitol hill. I usually get the Bibimbap bowls, since you can customize it, chipotle style, and take home the pork belly pancake. This is ideal for casual dinners with friends, or a quick bite before a night out.

Matt B

Google
Loved the KFC (korean fried chicken). The gochujang chicken paired well with the spicy pickles and slaw. For side dishes, the pickled daikon kimchi and spicy pickles were both really good.

Melanie G.

Yelp
Casual Korean eatery in a beautiful space and great customer service! Unfortunately I didn't get the name of our server who was exceptionally kind, but she was great! She saw that our table hadn't been cleaned and gave us a free kimbap plate! She and another server also served us to our seating outside through the window which was cool! Haha I got the jap chae noodles. I would've added a protein but the bowl itself was already ~$14 and to add tofu would be close to an additional $3. I enjoyed the fresh veggies and they have a good amount. This bowl also comes with your choice of white or brown rice. I wish the noodles had more sauce and/or flavor, because they were pretty plain. Definitely more of an Americanized experience. Good option for a lighter dish!

Nora J.

Yelp
I loved that you could build your own bibimbap bowl and that they have such good variety when it comes to the protein, veggies, and type of egg! I really enjoyed the kimchi pineapple I got added onto my bowl. The fried chicken looked really yummy too. The portions are big and service was fast despite being a little busy with orders (had to wait 5-10 minutes). Great place to come with friends or even to go!

Dia G.

Yelp
The definition of 3 stars :/ I've tried both the Cap Hill location and the Redmond one expecting more, but both times I finish my meal thinking "that was fine". I got the jap chae with pork belly and the pork belly was kinda tough but I did like that the noodles came with rice. I've heard the fried chicken is better but have not tried it myself. I did to-go and got my food pretty quickly like less than 10 mins.

Neha N.

Yelp
Fast casual, build your own bowl bibimbap. They also have hot tea available. No complaints, you get what you ask for and it's not too badly priced. They have a variety of fun toppings to choose from.

Judi W.

Yelp
My new favorite place to get a rice bowl! FOOD - I've only tried their build-your-own bowls so far since they've been delicious and I like the idea of picking what I want. The bulgogi is normally what I get for the protein and the toppings I really like their kimchi pineapple and mushrooms. Serving size is great and normally I can get 2 meals out of it. For the price, it's very fair for the amount of food you get. The meat is cooked perfectly and the toppings add a lot of flavor to the bowl. SERVICE - Quick and easy! I like the fact that you can also order ahead and pick up when you arrive. The prices aren't too upcharged online as well which is nice. AMBIANCE - Relatively small area so I've only gotten take out for it.

Katherine G.

Yelp
I didn't have the dine in experience, but got the spicy pork bibimbap from here in a different location. The portion was really generous, and they have such a wide assortment of toppings - maybe even more than what I typically see! The pork was so flavorful and juicy, and coated the rice so well. I loved how they also had brown rice, egg omelette, and pickled radish. The gochujang sauce they have to top it off with is also spectacular. I'd definitely come back to try more of their items!

Wendi K.

Yelp
Got doordash takeout. 4.5 Stars. Beef Jap Chae ($13 + $3 for protein) - super flavorful. Korean Fried Chicken ($8) - Extra crispy and awesome dipping sauces. Good portions too and neatly packaged :)

Natalie H.

Yelp
Clean, well-organized and really kind service. I ordered the build your own Bibimbap with tofu and an egg. Large serving, great flavors, healthy. Perfect for the rainy day and a great option when needing vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy free! They also have lemon water and barley tea readily available.

Pauline O.

Yelp
During my quick trip to Seattle for a wedding, I ordered a quick meal. The food was a good portion and I was able to eat the remainder the following day. I ordered the combo bowl with bulgogi beef and it came with dumplings. This dish was so filling and delicious! I will definitely go back when I go back to visit.

Jeremiah M.

Yelp
An interesting take on bibimbap bowls. I came in on a sunny afternoon with my girlfriend, and it's a place she regularly frequents. Service here is very friendly with a lot of youthful staff who are kind to answer any questions you might have. My partner likes the salmon bowl here, but I had ordered the Bulgogi Beef Fried Rice. The bowl isn't as big as I was expecting, but honestly it was the right size for me. Also a very simple looking dish, it was plated nicely. There isn't anything special about this bowl, but perhaps the simplicity of it was what made this dish tasty. The beef was flavourful and minced up to mix well with the rice. There are bits of egg mixed in the bowl alongside with a big sunny-side up egg on top. If you're looking for a quick and tasty bite around the Capitol Hill/Cal Anderson area, I would recommend trying out Oma Bap! (4.5/5)

Amy C.

Yelp
This is my new go-to spot in Capitol Hill for a fulfilling, home-feeling meal. I ordered the Bulgogi Beef Fried Rice, rice cakes, and kimchi & pork belly pancake. I love every dish. The over-easy egg yolk on my bulgolgi beef came out satisfyingly. The inside was decorated nicely, there is a menu displayed at the front surrounded with Polaroids. Thank you for the waiter who help take a picture of me and my friends.

Anastasia C.

Yelp
A great place for a quick affordable bite of Asian food. The service was quick and I appreciated the free tea. I had the bulgogi beef fried rice and it was delicious. Perfectly savory without being overly salty. A great place to sit and eat while waiting around or escape the rain.

Dewayne P.

Yelp
I like the seafood pancake with the special soy sauce on the side. The pancake was nice and crispy and has plenty of calamari. It has a nice aroma too. The KFC was great too. Nice crispy exterior with tender moist chicken. The rice tasted fresh. I like how they give you free tea! I ordered my food to go, but as I left I changed my mind and are inside instead because I wanted to sip on the tea. The people there are nice and accommodating. I would come back here again, especially since it's right in my backyard!

Shannen M.

Yelp
The food here is fantastic! You order at the counter, the chefs cook it up, and it's served hot and fresh. I ordered the salmon bowl and my husband ordered the Korean fried chicken (KFC) bowl. The salmon bowl is hands down a 10/10 I love how they pan sear it and not to mention the savory flavor of the soy marinade. I appreciate them not drowning the salmon in a sauce like some places do. The sauce that comes with the bowl was also very good. Wasn't sure if that was salad dressing or not, but I totally dipped my salmon in there. My husbands KFC bowl was also delicious. He really enjoyed the crispiness of the boneless chicken. We also ordered a bunch of sides extra napa kimchi, pickled daikon kimchi (my favorite out of the 3), and the pickled radish and jalapeño. I also like the concept of self service for water or tea. The have a little beverage and dishes station in the corner for you to help yourself. It is a small space and I'd imagine it would get busy but we came at a good time and had a nice table by the open window. We're coming for sure to try other items on the menu.

Prag R.

Yelp
Perfect place for quick and easy bites of yummy Korean food. I have been meaning to try their fried chicken bowl and glad I did at last! It didn't disappoint at all- right flavors and delicious. This is more of a diy bowl- more like Chipotle/Subway for Korean food- like how other yelpers have described. They have Bimbimbap, Pork belly bowls, Kincaid fried rice, Japchae and others. We got the Pork belly and Fried chicken and they both were bomb!

Micah R.

Yelp
This laid back, easy-going, quiet and slow as a library, Oma Bap is a good, minimalist , Korean-inspired, dare I call it a bistro with healthy and clean food options. Think a much healthier Panda Express-- better to grab-and-go with an order to go. I created my own bowl with cauliflower rice, tofu, 4 other veggies of choice, and scrambled eggs was delicious and encourages me to return. See menu on the site: https://www.omabap.com. Price was a bit on the higher-side of modest. Yet, fair as fair can be from their perspective. Dining outside on the sidewalk is inviting and most found it relaxing. I wish I could have tasted at least 3-5 bowls so I could give a more compare and contrast review for you. But this will have to do. I would go back if I were in the area.

Steven Z.

Yelp
Solid fast casual place. Would definitely come back to try other bowls. Braised pork belly bowl 4/5 - good portion of brown rice, shredded lettuce, and pickled veggies. The pork belly is great too! Good amount of fatty/skin. Napa kimchi side 4/5 - the kimchi is actually pretty good here. Its definitely sour, but also savory enough such that the sourness doesn't linger. They also have self serve hot corn (?) tea if you decide to dine in. Just a note to the staff - it'd be helpful if you told customers where the utensils are after you bring out the food for dine-in.

Cassie N.

Yelp
We were craving Korean food and this place was mas-issneun (delicious). We had the custom bimbap bowl and the kimchee pancake with pork belly - definitely get that if you go there. Last, we ordered the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and that was super tasty. Need your Korean food fix, go here.

Dori M.

Yelp
Tasty bibimbap!! The staff is super nice and the bibimbap was great. Free hot tea and super quick service

M H.

Yelp
Ordered this on Uber Eats to have a quick bite at my hotel while in town. I was a little worried on how this would travel but was pleasantly surprised that it came hot and secure. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) bowl with sweet garlic chicken and added an over easy egg and a side of Napa kimchi (not my favorite). The chicken was super tasty but wish there was a little bit more in the bowl. It also came with spicy pickles (amazing!) and a creamy sesame sauce (YUM), which went perfectly.

Jenny L.

Yelp
Ordered a few things from the menu to try: Bulgogi combo bowl - bulgogi beef w/ onions, kimchi, potstickers, salad, rice. Portion was generous with a lot of rice. It was tasty and definitely enough for a second meal. Calamari & Scallion Pancake - It was a bit soggy. And they use a different type of flour than other restaurants. This place makes it more mochi texture. Ended up throwing it in the air fryer at home and it was great. Miso soup & Kimchi side - Kimchi is in a sauce to-go container, so I was a little bit disappointed in the portion. Had I known it was so tiny, I would have ordered something else. Overall, pretty decent and would return considering there's not a lot of Korean options in this area.

Ann K.

Yelp
Just a great bibimbap place, with plenty of options for sides and protein. I chose the pickled cucumber, pickled radish, carrots and zucchini. Highly recommend getting the pickled cucumber as it's the perfect blend of sweet and salty! Make sure to mix it all together before eating for the maximum enjoyment in each bite. The restaurant is pretty small overall so definitely more of a takeout kind of place but we chose to eat in and it was pretty easy finding a seat so definitely up to you! I just like eating in these days just to reduce the plastic waste but really nothing better than a bibimbap bowl to take out! They have plenty of other options too if you're not feeling bibimbap, mostly revolving around bowls of rice and some kind of protein for main courses and then some classic Korean dishes as sides/appetizers. I got a side of kimchi too as I didn't get any in my bowl and it was tasty as usual!

Jessica L.

Yelp
I've been dying to try this place for awhile now and I finally had the chance to. Everything here was amazing. I had the kimchi fried rice with pork belly and sunny side egg on top. It was full of flavor and nothing was too overpowering where I couldn't finish my bowl. A side of the bean sprouts with my rice was delicious! They had kimchi pineapples which sound very interesting but were sweet and spicy. Would come back and definitely recommend this place to all my friends! The cashier Katie was very helpful and recommended us perfect dishes!

Kathy X.

Yelp
Huge fan of this place! They give you pretty large portions of food and everything is made flavorfully and fresh. I built my own bowl with bulgogi and was very happy with how everything tasted together. The food comes out super quick too!

Shirin B.

Yelp
Oma Bap is a perfect place for quick Korean, thats takeout friendly. Their bibimbap (rice bowls) can be made with tofu and any toppings (I highly suggest getting the pickled bean sprouts, crispy brussel sprouts, and kimchi) but do note that the kimchi does contain fish paste, and is not vegetarian. They can make their rice cake appetizer vegetarian by removing the fish cakes, and it tastes great! I loved the shape of these rice cakes since they don't feel as heavy and overwhelming as the cylinder ones.

Sherlyn M.

Yelp
Kimchi fried rice is the bomb! Ordered it on DoorDash and the delivery was quick - meaning the food was still pretty warm when I got it! Served in a compostable bowl and compostable fork - it's feel good when the entire order is good for you and the environment! Taste: 10/10. Served with the egg on top in the form you select - sunny side up, scrambled, over easy, over hard, over medium and sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds and scallions. The pork belly is well cooked and the dish has balance of flavors. I could eat this for days. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu

Leonard C.

Yelp
**CASH BACK ON DINING WON'T WORK HERE** this is probably the reason for it being only 4 stars in my opinion. They are classified as a "Caterer" so credit cards that typically give cash back won't recognize this transaction as a restaurant/dining. Just a warning. Otherwise the food and restaurant is solid overall. They have nice open seating outside, as well as open their windows on nice days and you can still eat inside. Right next to Cal Anderson Park too. You can build your own bowl or choose an option off the menu. I recommend building one. The bowls are tasty and a solid serving size. It felt worth the value and did not make me feel too bloated. I also tried the Chocolate Haupia Cake and it was very yummy. There is a lot of whipped cream on top but it's not overtly sweet. You bus yourself when you dine in though. Overall a nice place for a quick bite, but not getting cash back on this purchase would make me not come back again.

Kim B.

Yelp
The place seems pretty new or at least maybe the workers were new. Staff just seemed a bit unaware but we all have first employments so I wasn't so stringent on that. However I think the owner or the manager there seemed to give them instructions. The food was less than what I expected it to be. It's like a fast food Korean place but catered to non Koreans. That's the best way for me to say this. Even the kim che selection of radish and jalapeño was like Japanese more than anything Korean. The place was organized and neat. For the most part the amount of food to the price was decent, it just wasn't what I consider Korean. I did however get the fresh vegetables that my body was looking for. It's a good college eatery but I just wouldn't say it's the authentic Korean flare. It's decent, don't get me wrong and for most taste buds that cannot handle Korean heat, then this is excellent. A quick and fresh plate that will fill you up! Definitely.

Timothy H.

Yelp
Pretty good korean restaurant! We got the combo bowl where you choose your protein, base rice, miso soup or house salad, and 3 added pot stickers. I got the bulgogi which was good, but the fried chicken was great! Place is cool to eat at and has good service

Christine E.

Yelp
The food was good! You can create your own bibimbap with the meat, toppings, and sauce of your choice. The service was also fast. The place is pet-friendly too!

Melanie C.

Yelp
Oma Bap is an awesome, fast casual option with fresh ingredients. Think: Chipotle, where you get to mix-and-match your favorite Korean ingredients and sauces, to customize your own bowl. My recommendation is the Korean Fried Chicken or the Bulgogi BiBimBap, both are stellar!

Dean M.

Yelp
Great food whether you decide to eat in, take home, or walk across to the park. You feel like you've eaten a more healthy option than some other restaurants on the hill.

Pre T.

Yelp
The Pork belly is to die for. It's also just a nice place to sit down and have a meal. Take a walk in the park. Love it. Try it.

J A.

Yelp
Ordered japchae noodles and bulgogi fried rice with daikon and napa kimchi and 15% tip 40$. Chill vibes and ambience. Open air windows across from Cal Anderson. Lowkey cafe style lunch joint. Food came out pretty quick. They have a barley tea that is gratis, I really liked it, very refreshing. All customers were vocal about how much they liked the food here. I am removing a star because I ordered a sunny side up egg with bulgogi fried rice and it was over-medium, low yolk-age. This was not worth complaining over, I just ate the food and I still enjoyed it, I would return/ recomment to this business.

Julia L.

Yelp
I've ordered bibimbaps here multiple times. The bowls are HUGE. They feed me for about 1.5 meals. If you get the egg sunny-side up, be prepared for a super runny yolk, but I enjoy it. The sauces are all SUPER tasty - my favorite has to be sweet garlic soy. It's a good choice if you're looking for a fast casual bite.

Danielle T.

Yelp
Ordered takeout bulgogi fried rice. Compostable containers held up well on the way home. Good portions and tasty. Egg was still sunnyside up and not overcooked.

Ellie C.

Yelp
Got a bowl for takeout and it was delicious! Ordered online and chose the protein and sides I wanted and picked up in store. Was delicious and great if you're in a rush! Would def order again

Zach A.

Yelp
I've been ordering from Oma Bap throughout the whole pandemic but finally found a chance to stop by in the store. This place is really good. I always get the same thing which is the bbq fried rice bowl. It comes with an egg and a good amount of meat. It's tasty and filling and always hits the spot. I had the same experience in store as I did via delivery. It just tastes fresh and well made. Inside is pretty nice ambiance wise, and the cashier/servers were friendly and helpful. Good vibes. 4 stars because it's a little pricey to be a go to, especially for a simple rice bowl.

Huong L.

Yelp
I heard of this place before and wanted to check it out. Its kinda like a chipotle style where you can somewhat customize your food We got the the Philly cheesesteak and the Happy hour bibimbap bowl with tofu and no rice. The cheesesteak was very yummy in flavor and surprisingly light. The Bread was somewhat mushy but also a little chewy but it was ok. The price is on the higher side for the sandwich though compare to the bibimbap bowl. At happy hour pricing, it was only $9 for a pretty hefty bowl of veggies, tofu and an egg. If there was rice in it, it would definitely be a heavy meal. The flavor was good and it was yummy. Definitely will be back again when I'm in the area as it was healthy yet satisfying.

Austin F.

Yelp
My go to in cap hill for something quick and more affordable. I get the KFC bowl with honey garlic chicken and I think it's close to perfect. Its light enough but still filling, great balances of flavors, the whole nine yards. It's better fresh but takeout is also great. Definitely give this place a try

Yelp
Had a great experience here! Friendly and helpful staff, atmosphere here feels nice as well. They have a self service table for water, napkins, utensils, and take out boxes. Very convenient. I ordered the bibimbap which you could custom size to your personal preference, id rate it a 10/10!! Was good, portion is surprisingly big, and everything looked fresh. Tteokbokki: Normally tteokbokki is more spicy, but this one was a little sweet however it was still good since it balances out with the spicy food ordered. 9/10, I do think the rice cakes could bit more chewier. Kimchi Fried Rice: 10/10 !!! And thank you to the friendly staff who helped my friend and I pick what to order!

Bridgette G.

Yelp
Really great food. Got the bim bap bowl with chicken, roasted broccoli, Brussels sprouts, spicy pickles, cabbage and pickled radishes and jalapeños with a sunny side up egg. Could not have been happier with my meal! It was fresh, fantastic and full of flavors. Their little canned coffee was tasty too. Four stars instead of five because some of the staff were kind of rude. Maybe it was a off day, some were very nice and helpful.

Arabelle H.

Yelp
Salmon Bowl - I don't normally get this but it was surprisingly really tasty. Great seasoning on the fish, and quite a big chunk, brown rice and veggies. It was relatively healthy and pretty filling. I would give it a 4.5/5. Seafood Pancake - Do not order this, it doesn't taste like a normal seafood pancake at all. The texture is off, it is more like a chewy gelatinous item, and super greasy. It barely had seafood, mostly just green onion and batter. Super disappointed in this one.

David H.

Yelp
I'm really surprised by how much I liked Oma Bap! It's a fast casual Korean restaurant that focuses on their bibimbap bowls but also offers traditional entrees and appetizers like korean pancakes, japchae, and ssam plates. I'm a huge fan of how much flavor each dish here has. Because it's a cheaper casual restaurant, the quality in the food wasn't quite there, but the flavor more than makes up for it. Like you may not be having premium 5 star restaurant quality ingredients, but good food is good food! Their bibimbap bowls are customizable and there's a good amount of options to choose from, but honestly I enjoyed the entrée and appetizers more - specifically the ssam plate and pancake. Being a fast casual restaurant, you order at the counter and get your food pretty quick. We didn't have to wait too long for food. Prices were pretty fair and the restaurant was spotless. Overall, a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a casual dinner!

Mikala K.

Yelp
Great value for the freshness of the bi bim bap fixings. I had the spicy pork but will try something else like the beef. I requested bean sprouts, Kim chee, fresh cucumbers and now, would also get the daikon radish for 12.50. My hubby liked the spicy belly pork bi bim bap. The canned Hite beer was $3.5. The 6 gyoza was $7.50. Great value and the very best staff as my girl was bright, happy, efficient , assertive and such a hard worker.

Katie L.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place!! Every time I'm in Seattle I have to come visit and it's always so good! I have a dairy allergy so it's nice having somewhere healthy and safe for me to eat.

Trisha V.

Yelp
This was my first stop in Seattle and it did not disappoint!! Such a great selection and the portions were pretty big. The staff was super nice & they had complementary hot barley tea! Every dish we got was really delicious but my favorite was the Korean rice cakes. Highly recommend this place to grab & go or for a quick dine in.

Steven A.

Yelp
UNDERCOOKED FOOD My fried chicken was raw on the inside, they didn't even cook it. They wouldn't give me a substitution, and had terrible customer service.

Sofia R.

Yelp
This place was so good, loved the kimchi fried rice, portions could be a little bigger but will definitely be coming back,
