Unfortunately this place did not pass the vibes check. I say unfortunately because I suppose the locals really like it and it was recommended to me by a good friend. My friend and I came in on a Saturday night and it was pretty much dead. They had good music playing though, so we agreed to get a drink. The service and bartender were originally ok until something happened. Apparently, there's a regular customer who hangs out there and openly acts as a dick to everybody, including patrons. I dont even remember how the conversation even started or what was being talked about, but this idiot told me "Shut up, you're a woman, you're not supposed to talk". It took me a few minutes to realize that came out of an actual person's mouth and, honestly in my head I kept on asking myself wtf happened? He then proceeded to say that it was 'comedy' when my friend looked at him straight up and asked wtf. I guess he thought it was a joke, although nobody was laughing.
Anyway, my friend and I left shortly after. I was pretty dead set to never come back to this place. Unfortunately, some friends decided to join us as we were deciding where to go next, and wanted to get a drink there. I originally was gonna wait in the car, but apparently dickwad had left, so I ended up joining them. That's how I found out that this guy apparently hangs out at the bar and customarily harasses people with his 'humor'.
When I asked the lady bartender about it and told her what he did, she simply shrugged it as 'that's how he is'. However, when she said he was nice but has a raw sense of humor, that's when I stopped her and said 'He's not nice!', to which she cut me off and said, 'I'm not here to debate with you'. Woman to woman, that was an even lower blow than what he did. If another sister had told me that a guy told her to shut up because 'she's a woman', I would have been furious and reassured her she'd tell him to fk off next time she sees him. But... this lady bartender did not. Maybe he became a friend to her by means of daily patronage. Maybe...more (let's leave it at that).
Anyway, I thought in 2025 I'd never have to hear anyone ever utter such words as what dickwad spoke to me, but I was wrong. However, what was more egregious was that another woman would not only not be absolutely disgusted by that move, but she even proceeded to defend him, by saying he's 'nice' and cutting the conversation short. If I owned that place, I'd see this guy as a liability. He was actually fairly lucky none of my male friends (real men, not dickwads) were there when he dared what he dared, because he'd have left with a few of his teeth in the back pocket of his jeans.
Oh yeah, btw O' Malley has beer and whiskey as well, just like all the other bars in the strip, and the rest of the world. Maybe the others don't have misogynistic patrons hanging out on the regular, so...I mean, pick based on your drinking preferences.
