The steak in my burrito was good. I ordered it suizo, expecting it to be drenched in traditional tomato salsa but to my surprise they used marinara sauce instead and I wasn’t a fan. Generous portions of rice and beans served on the side. The chips and salsa was delicious! We ordered a pitcher of margarita to share and did not feel even a slight buzz after finishing the entire pitcher.

Google
Very welcoming environment, attentive staff, and a really great meal. Had the chicken fajitas (which can be ordered spicy) with chips and salsa. They also have margaritas. Looking forward to dining here again, so I can try more of the menu.

Finally tried O’Manny’s! It was a friend’s birthday and we are early birds so showed up at 3pm. Had the place to ourselves for two hours which was awesome yet also a shame because I now love them snd want them to be successful! Great margaritas, awesome salsa and chips. The guacamole was fresh and served on a deep fried tortilla! Tacos were really good, especially the pastor with pineapple salsa! Very fresh. And they brought the Birthday friend a piece of cake b CB implore with a candle and song! Very good experience and we will be back! My only note- please turn on the air as soon as you open because it took awhile to cool off.

Google
The food was amazing and the margaritas were phenomenal. First pitcher was traditional margaritas and the second was mango. I watched as they blended fresh mango! Omg Yummy! There were four of us, each with different entrees. It was unanimous that we had selected our dining establishment was a great pick! Streetwide paid parking AND free parking behind O Manny.

Google
Service was just ok, never got my change for our bill. Drinks were not strong, but the food was ok. We came for sangria and red snapper, they were out of both.

Having descended from southern Mexico, I’ve always got to try every place’s mole. This is some of the best mole I’ve had in the city. You can taste how much love they put into it, I just want to take a whole container home and put it on everything I eat. Their margaritas are so good too, big and natural tasting of fruit and less of artificial sweetener.

Couples night with son and his wife. Food was great. The servers were better. An awesome atmosphere. This is a hidden gem.

Google
Great margaritas and even better food. If you remember C'Manny's from a few years ago it's the same place, same ambiance, and same great staff.

Yelp
O'manny's has sO'many good qualities. A brightly lit space, homestyle cooking, and attentive staff. I was a bit disappointed that the Margarita is made with a sour mix, and not fresh squeezed limes. Did I still drink a lot? Of course! I do know that the hangovers are a bit worse with the sour mix though. The food is delicious. The Arrachera is a thin sliced cut, the beans are delicious, and the guacamole is fresh. They are a smaller restaurant, so my server was my bartender, a d the server for the other 2 tables. They have happy hours, so check it out to times and deals.

Yelp
My parents, my husband, our daughter dined at O'Manny's Mexican Restaurant tonight, and I had to write about my experience. The wait staff was attentive and helpful, and the food was pretty good! The owner came over and invited my two year old to play area near the front of the restaurant where they had some toys (I hadn't even noticed it when we walked in). When I left the table to check on my daughter and my food arrived, our waitress kindly insisted that I go eat my meal while she she watched over my daughter and hers. It was so nice to eat a warm (and not distracted) meal with my family. I highly recommend visiting and supporting this family business, especially if you have kids! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you, O'Manny's!

Jessica C.

Yelp
We were looking for a sit down Mexican restaurant near the Old Irving Park area and found O'Manny's only a mile away. The decor is okay, not great ambiance but the food is good and margaritas are strong and tasty. We went once on a Friday night and were one of maybe four tables, pretty dead for a Friday night at 8pm. Then we went on Cinco de Mayo and they were severely short staffed and the restaurant was completely full. There was one waitress for the whole restaurant including two tables of 8+ so the service was less than great but I'd give it another chance because the food really is good. If you get your leftovers packed up, check it before you go. I specifically asked for my tortillas (which they charged me for apparently even though it comes with my meal...) and they were not packed with my meal. I didn't realize this until the next day when I heated my leftovers.

Yelp
Happy hour from 3-6. Fantastic margaritas. Fresh af guacamole-- so so good. They bring salsa & chips to the table The fajitas are bomb a**. My kids loved the quesadillas and the enchiladas, and they're picky Texas kids raised on Tex Mex. Their green salsa brings the flavor. Try the queso fundido and the enchiladas.

Julia P.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant while we were taking a walk in our neighborhood and decided to go in. It was a comfortable atmosphere, nice color. It was consistently busy but not over crowded. They had good Covid policies in place. The margaritas were HUGE and while not the best we've had, they were still good! I had a mole dish and it was so good I accidentally ate the entire plate instead of bringing some home for lunch the next day as planned! My husband had a burrito and enjoyed his as well. The service was a little slow, but we weren't in a rush and know that has been a challenge many establishments have been facing due to the pandemic. We will stop in again.

Autumn P.

Yelp
Im only giving a star for the waitress working tonight, as she worked the floor and kitchen it seemed. We ordered a chimichanga, which came with a weird pasta sauce on top, and I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas. Fajitas were so bad, I had to send them back, the meat was so overcooked and rubbery I couldn't even eat it.We ordered the nacho appetizer, and was presented with 6 individually made nacho chips?! ..The rice was awful.. We each ordered 2 margs, which were mostly foam, and without knowing, got the "big" margaritas? Which were almost ,18.00 a pop. I literally feel robbed as we paid about 100.00 for one chimichanga, and 4 margaritas. Ridiculous. This place used to be so good when it was "CMannys"...such a shame.

Yelp
Above average decor and decent food fail to make up for exceedingly slow and neglectful service. My wife and I came here after hearing a positive recommendation but came away feeling lackluster about the experience. It certainly won't take over the top spot among our favorite Old Irving Park Mexican restaurants. I would name them but then it might seem like that was why I wrote this and I truly mean this to be constructive criticism. Let's start with the fact that we received our food 50 minutes after being seated despite the fact that it took us less than five minutes to decide what to order. Once we were seated (quickly) every element of the experience took forever. Get water, wait five minutes, get complementary chips and salsa, wait 10, order food, wait 20. Etc. Like I said, it took 50 minutes to get our food. I know because I had to add time to our parking meter when our food arrived. And the wait was not limited to food. I waited quite a while for my drink and when it came my wife's soda was MIA. When my wife inquired about it five minutes later the response was an "of course" as if she was silly to think it wasn't being freshly made as quickly as possible. Then we wait for the check, and on and on. The food was just "ok". If it was amazing then you'd forgive a lot of flaws but it was just so-so. Plus some elements were not a good value. My "14oz medium margarita" wasn't more than 8 oz (served in a red wine glass so you know it wasn't 14oz!) and cost $11.95. Seriously? The chips were cold and could have come out of a bag. The salsa was super hot and when we asked for a mild salsa we received warm tomato sauce. Not pico de gallo or chunky salsa but tomato sauce. Literally. The decor is pleasant. The staff were friendly if inattentive. We might try it again if other reviews show they work the kinks out. But for now there are simply too many good alternatives to bother returning to O Manny!

Millie R.

Yelp
3 stars for the food 5 stars for the margaritas - I would have to say their margaritas are delicious but the food was just Ok. They use USDA Choice so I was not expecting my carne asada to be delicious for the price. Come for the margaritas stay for some food if your hungry.

Nicki D.

Yelp
Ordered a steak taco dinner for pickup and it hit the spot! Nice price too and happy to have another taco spot now that Taco Max a few blocks further away.

Jeremy G.

Yelp
I found this restaurant from Yelp because of the great reviews. Unfortunately we were less than impressed with the food. I give five stars for service because the waitress was excellent and very nice. We ordered nachos and I thought the nachos were ok, but my other half was grossed out by them. The tacos were just ok. The fajitas were very weird. They are served in a tomato based hot sauce that you can order mild or hot. The biggest disappointment was the $20 margaritas that are 3/4 foam and only a little bit of liquid at the bottom. At 8 PM on a Saturday we were the only table in the restaurant. Sadly I will say we will not return.

Jesica B.

Yelp
We finally tried this place the food was okay wouldn't say great. Except for the rice there is some spice they use that I do not like and can't quite figure out possibly cardamom ‍ it wasn't good at all. It was 4:30 on a Saturday they really need someone making drinks the server was one guy doing everything so needless to say we were waiting a long time for everything we weren't in a rush so that really wouldn't have bothered us too much IF there was air conditioning on !!! It was sooo hot in there ! By the time we were done eating we couldn't wait to get out. With that said the drinks !! They were delicious !! But there are no drink prices on the menu for a reason !! Had a Pina Colada $16 Strawberry margarita $18 !! Wow have the bill was for 2 drinks we can get 2 margarita pitchers at Garcia's for that ‍ So the best part of this review ... there salsa is fantastic ! I would go back just to buy that ! And our appetizer Roja con queso was good as well So unfortunately we won't be back.

Lucy M.

Yelp
Margaritas are $18 (price conveniently not listed, everything else is reasonably priced so I certainly didn't expect them to be so expensive). My bad for not asking but I really didn't expect it to be so bad. The service took way longer than it needed to and we were the only ppl there. Like we were there over an hour. We only got entrees and drinks. Just go somewhere else.

Cruz C.

Yelp
Worst Mexican food ever. How is this possible in Chicago? The staff also kept their kid in a playpen right by the entrance.

Susie S.

Yelp
The food was good, the dishonesty was stunning. They advertise their margaritas outside the restaurant. We arrived and ordered margaritas. The server brought us a surprisingly large margaritas. It was very good and we guessed their margaritas were the draw which brought people into the place. When the bill arrived we were charged several times the price of the margaritas advertised outside. The server told us she had served us the large size. We said we hadn't requested a supersize, she had just brought it to us. She said we had drank it so we had to pay for it. Then she told us they did not accept credit cards. I knew that was BS because the only reason we knew about the place was because of an ad on an email from out credit card. I asked to speak with the manager. She said the manager was out of town and she was the assistant manager. When I confronted her with this information she admitted they did accept credit cards. I'll let you connect the dots. FYI This visit was pre-COVID.

Yelp
I ate at O'manny's tonight and down graded them from four stars to two. The Margaritas and chips were great. The food was mediocre at best. I had the enchiladas in mole. The mole sauce was great. No filling in the enchiladas. Just a couple pieces of chicken and and only a couple of pieces of steak. Not worth what I paid for them. A very disappointing experience.

Liz Z.

Yelp
This rating is based on the food (5 stars), the margaritas (3.5 stars) and atmosphere 3.5 stars). Food: So. Damn. Good. I got the chicken enchiladas verdes and they were easily the best enchiladas I've had in the city. The chicken was fresh and I loved the flavor of the verde sauce. The rice and beans were good, too. My dude got the combination fajitas and they were also great. Both entrees were fairly priced for the portions. Margs: People in the neighborhood had been talking about their legendary margaritas, so I had high expectations. I was hoping for a marg made with some version of fresh lime juice, simple, and tequila. I think these margs used sour mix or margarita mix, which is why they lose points. Too sweet for me so I couldn't drink more than one. But hey they were strong, which I respect and appreciate. Atmosphere: The first thing we noticed when we walked in were some extremely bright fluorescent bulbs in several of the light fixtures. They were kind of blinding and distracted from the rest of the place, which is nicely decorated and clean. Overall I wish all the lights were dimmer, especially over the booths, but replacing those bright white bulbs would be a good start. Overall it's a good addition to the area, and with just a couple small changes (really small..like 4 lightbulbs) it could be GREAT. I'll be back either way. Those enchiladas are calling.

Daniel H.

Yelp
This neighborhood's an odd one: there's lots of taco joints, but very few sit-down Mexican restaurants with full bars, etc. O'Manny's (fun name, BTW) gets it right, with all of the hits: boozy margs, good guac and large menu. Highly recommend.

Kristen C.

Yelp
Staff very nice and great service! Sadly after days thinking about what to say I just can't give the food or drink 4 stars. The large margarita was bad...and definitely not worth $14. It was served warm from the mix being poured out of a jug and was insanely sweet/tart like a cheap sweet and sour mix...which it was since we saw it poured. We shared the nachos...they were excellent...I loved every chip was prepared so you had the perfect assortment of toppings on each bite. A large had like 9 chips and without meat was $8. They were good but kind of a rip at around $1 a scoop for cheap toppings like beans, sour cream, a pinch of cheese and pico with a drop of guac. You want some mind blowing nachos go across the street to Taco Max to get some bang for your buck! Parter ordered the mole enchiladas...ok but really small. I ordered the combo including an enchilada, taco and beef tostada. Enchilada was bland and tiny taco fell apart while I tried to pick it up because meat was extremely wet and the tostada was tasty. Meat was incredibly wet but seasoned well. Ride and beans served with were a winner with fantastic flavor. We came from reading the reviews but $55 later left disappointed with food and margaritas and probably won't return.

Dorian H.

Yelp
It's actually very underrated. The staff is very nice and the food is excellent. The music isn't too loud. I prefer coming over most restaurants with a higher star rating.

Charisse S.

Yelp
tacos were horrible had them taken to go they were steak tacos with everything on them. I ordered them for a family of four and my whole family found hair all over the steak tacos and in the rice what is disaster for dinner and only that watching my family throwing up after that was on appetizing and call the company to let them know what happened and how disgusting for the head Cook to say that's the manager do you have any pictures of those people throwing up disgusting my ratings went from Great to terrible with this whole new staffing in the way they handle things.

Mike F.

Yelp
Great food can't go wrong. YUM!!!!!! order anything parking may be a little rough little bit on at 6 o'clock in Irving Park

Sean H.

Yelp
My son loves the steak tacos, I love the chicken burritos and nachos. Great food, fun atmosphere inside. I definitely suggest this place.

Brittany S.

Yelp
I was happy to hear they were offering indoor dining. We came in about an hour before close and they were happy to seat us. Service and food was great, will definitely be going back!

Jenny D.

Yelp
This place is our favorite Mexican in all of Chicago! Great food, great margaritas, a comfortable ambience and good prices. They closed down for a couple of years (used to be called "C. Manny's") and we tried at least a dozen other restaurants in an attempt to replace them. There was always something a little off... Sometimes the food was good, but the ambience was too fast-foodish or the place was BYOB. Sometimes the food at the other ones wasn't up to par, like the verde sauce would be bitter or you'd find sweet corn in the chiles rellenos (sorry...not a fan). We were forlorn, lost without our Manny's! Our friends, too. We've converted several into fans over the years. Now that they're back, you must try them! You almost never have to wait for a table and there are lots of comfy booths, which I find way more relaxing than open tables with activity buzzing all around you. Our favorite dishes are the enchiladas verdes (cheese version), the chiles rellenos, and the rajas con queso, which is a poblano pepper appetizer that has a great, savory taste. Entrees come with hot tortillas on a warmer. Get corn, not wheat, for the win! And their house margaritas are *perfect*, if a bit pricey.

Shannon W.

Yelp
This place is NOT the same ever since the original owners sold the business. The food quality has gone down tremendously, definitely not the same. The food doesn't taste fresh, more like its reheated or days old. Don't get me started on their skirt steak. It tastes likes it's been in the freezer for months. You can tell that these new owners are not using the same ol' recipes. The rice now tastes horrible and is so hard as you can see in my photo. The service use to be so on point, now it takes forever to be served your meal, that doesn't even come out hot anymore. I won't be going back, especially after my server Maria Elena wrote on my bill "cash tip appreciated" that left a bad taste in my mouth.

Andrew G.

Yelp
Just heard of this place as apparently the owner is back from Florida and here to stay, as she reopens the famous O'Mannys. Rumor has it that she makes the strongest margaritas in town and if you visit you'll quickly agree. Home-y atmosphere, friendly service and again a must for the delicious strong margaritas and classic spanish music. Will be back soon.

Nayara L.

Yelp
I was in the mood for Mexican so I stopped by this place for late dinner. My favorite part about the restaurant is the atmosphere. It's really chill, with dim lighting and a full bar being the focal point/center of the restaurant. It wasn't full at all and the service is great. They say they're known for their margaritas so I had to try it. I loved the presentation for the medium size (which is pretty big by the way, as per my photo) because it comes in a cactus glass. They weren't the best ones I've ever had, you couldn't really taste the tequila and it just tasted like sweet juice (really good sweet juice though). Their chips and guacamole are really good. They offer free chips and salsa and the salsa was pretty spicy but delicious. For my entree I got the tacos which came with 3 tacos, rice and refried beans. Their rice and refried beans are AMAZING. Some of the best I've had. Their tacos were definitely a 3.5/5 as a whole. Their steak was a 5/5, but their chicken and ground beef were 3/5, not bad but nothing particularly great about them. Their card machine was down so I had to leave the restaurant to withdraw cash which was unfortunate. Overall I'm giving them a 4 for good service, atmosphere, amazing rice/beans, guac/salsa, and steak tacos. But they could definitely improve their other tacos and continue to perfect their drinks.

Diana D.

Yelp
Great Margaritas!!! Great food!! Great atmosphere! Happy to see your back! And look forward to the summer with you guys

Frizz G.

Yelp
Love Manuela's beautiful restaurant Great atmosphere, clean and roomy, excellent & lively service from everyone.... it's a family affair! 30+ years here, there should be more reviews because the food is so delicious. Fajitas (steak & shrimp) were amazing, guacamole was spot on, ceviche was my favorite hands down... crisp, fresh assortment of mussels, octopus, fish seasoned perfectly. House margarita's (multiple) were scrump diddily dumpsious... going back for 2nds and 3rds and 4ths....

Jack G.

Yelp
We use to love going here.. Unfortunately they can't figure out the drink pricing anymore. Margarita prices not listed on the menu. We will not return.

Doreen M.

Yelp
Disappointed. We always get their carne asada dinner. Quality was not what is was previously. Meat was dry, one had a lot of salt. Refried beans were very bland and watery. Even the rice was a bit tough. Don't know if they changed cooks, but, will think twice before getting it again. And it wasn't even busy.

Vrajika P.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! We came on a busy night and there was only one server working. Maria did an amazing job keeping up with everything, she refilled our chips and salsa and took our orders in a timely manner. The food was very good, highly recommend the chimichanguitas for appetizers. Definitely coming back soon!

Tony I.

Yelp
Food and drinks are great. Margaritas very potent and delicious. Fajita dinner is huge very flavorful and delicious. Give it a try you can't go wrong restaurant is spotless and staff wears mask and gloves. A hidden gem local restaurant!

Sarah P.

Yelp
Delicious food and very nice staff! I've been beee 3x and can speak for the food, but not the drinks.

Di Z.

Yelp
Called to place an order, message said they will call back. Was on a day they apparently were open. We waited, they never called back. Probably closed due to the Covid D going on. Better luck next time. They should update their msg if they are NOT there. Just sayin'.

Patrick P.

Yelp
They've worked out the kinks of the first week. This is really comfort food. If you want yuppie fare then go somewhere else. Soups are amazing, burritos and tacos are always reliable. Also the snapper never disappoints. Salsa does have kick but that's what it is supposed to do. I would call it medium spicy. Family owned and good people, this will be a regular spot for me.

steve h.

Yelp
Just tried this place out tonight. Inside the place is clean and brand new. It was Monday night so there were plenty of places to sit. Comfortable booth, friendly service. I had the three burritos which were delicious, and a big portion for the money (enough for the two of us really). My wife had the ranchera steak in a tomato-based sauce with bell peppers which was very tasty. Glad to have them in the neighborhood and we will be back.

Patrick P.

Yelp
The burrito is AMAZING. Rice and beans are superb. A family establishment in this neighborhood is always welcome. We are lucky to have this restaurant here!

Kelly K.

Yelp
This is an excellent place to eat authentic Mexican food. The flavors are amazing, the service is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and the place is clean. I would suggest they make a deal with the restaurant next door (a morning/breakfast place) and share their parking lot as they are a nighttime establishment. That would make the place more than perfect. Eat up!

Kate M.

Yelp
I had heard things about the place reopening, so we gave it a shot. We arrived to a dimly lit comfy looking restaurant about a quarter full. The first negative was that our waitress did not speak one word of English, so it was difficult to both ask questions and to order. We ordered drinks, app, and entrees within 10 minutes of arriving. We had a pitcher of margaritas that were fine. Our appetizer arrived around 45 minutes after ordering which was fundido. OK, but super greasy. After we had been there for an hour and fifteen minutes and still not received our entrees, we requested the food to go. It's hard to rate the food because we ended up eating it the next day. Maybe if we had known we needed 2 hours to dine there my experience would've been different, but we didn't expect that for a casual restaurant. Visit on May 4, 2019. Receipt total 64.90

Kevin B.

Yelp
Great place! Super friendly staff, very strong and HUGE margaritas, great food. I am glad they moved into the neighborhood!

Sean R.

Yelp
About 10 years ago or so, the wife and I were big fans of C. Manny's. After a while they took a big downhill turn and we stopped going. When we saw they had reopened with a slightly different name, we figured some time off might have given them a chance to reset and get back on their game. So, we gave them another chance only to find out they picked up at the bottom of the hill where they left off. I ordered a burrito, usually a very simple, straightforward matter at a traditional Mexican restaurant. It turns out they only serve their single burrito at lunch time, even though it said nothing of the sort on the menu. So instead of telling me this and suggesting I order something else, they brought out their "dinner platter" of TWO burritos and charged us more without even bothering to ask or even inform me of this substitution. And to top it off, the one I managed to choke down was chewy, bland, and flavorless. Meanwhile, my wife ordered their fajitas which she described as borderline edible and nothing like they used to be. To be fair, maybe that was just a matter of personal taste because I tried her fajitas and thought they were fine. Oh yeah, and their margaritas still taste like rocket fuel. And so I sat there gnawing on my chewy burrito and washing it down with rocket fuel, staring out the window at Taco Max across the street, wishing we had gone there instead.

Irma M.

Yelp
Disappointed :(. I ordered a frozen, strawberry margarita on my first visit and it was delicious. My second visit was not so good. My frozen margarita had very little tequila and not enough strawberries. I ordered the three taco steak dinner and it was terrible. The tortillas were bitter and the meat had no flavor. The rice was not authentic Mexican rice...More like out of a box . The salsa rojo was way too hot and when I asked the waitress for salsa verde, she said they didn't have any. She said she would get me some tomato sauce to add to it. I seriously thought she was kidding, but she wasn't. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. I'll travel to Garcia's or Tecalitlan for better Mexican food. This place won't last

Heron R.

Yelp
Just all around great. Love the attention to detail with their nachos, every chip is a perfect bite!

Maddie F.

Yelp
My husband brought me to this restaurant for a belated Valentine's Day dinner and it was just fabulous. The customer service was amazing. The friendly family atmosphere is one that you will never forget. The lighting was perfect, the music was at the right volume - where you are able to have a conversation instead of screaming your lungs out like in some restaurants. If you want great food, great customer service and zombies that will knock you off your feet- you must try! You guys rock Manuela, Jackie, Marianela and staff. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

Robert M.

Yelp
Excellent food great atmosphere. . Mostly I go here for take out. Always on the run and enjoy the cuisine. Its a taste that keeps me coming back as a regular customer

Crystal R.

Yelp
I'm so exited that Manny is back from Florida!!! I've missed her killer Margaritas and Sangria! Her mini burritos are also delicious as well! Well packed in meat! No extra bullshit!

Stacie B.

Yelp
Great food. Friendly atmosphere. Fantastic service. I had their Mole Enchiladas which were to die for. The Margaritas we had were big and strong and all the wait staff were friendly. And before we knew it our food was ready. Overall a great experience. We will be back soon.

Jorge P.

Yelp
When something or some place closes, it should stay closed. Tried them again when they reopened and like a lot of people said it's the same thing, not impress, lots of better options to eat better food in the neighborhood
