"A salute to old-school glamor, with deep red upholstered booths, New York steaks, lobster, and escargot, Omar’s is an Ashland classic that’s been in operation since 1946. The bouillabaisse is worth its own celebration, filled with snapper, shrimp, and calamari." - Susanne Robertson

I had a great experience at Omar's . I was stopping by 2 get some food after work. I entered it with escargot and seafood excellent I could not ask for better. Ryan the bartender was courteous and helpful in selecting my items. I had stopped in a few days earlier for the $10 lunch what a deal. Ryan waited on us at that point to he was gracious and knew his stuff who arrived quickly and we were excellently satisfied.

First time dining here, we enjoyed the atmosphere. Lots of historic photos, which I really enjoyed. Fresh flowers in old glass vases on every table. Seated quickly, server was a sweet girl. We tried the special of New York strip, garlic mashed, grilled asparagus in balsamic glaze, and panko breaded soft shell crab. $45 per plate. I was really happy with the steak, it was cooked and seasoned really well. I liked the asparagus, it was not mushy but firm. The potatoes were plated beautifully as well. Husband had an oyster shooter that he said was great. Husband did not like the crab, there was a slight mush in the middle. I didn’t know how to eat it, 😂 but overall a good experience and somewhere I’d go again. Ashland also has an additional food tax even though it’s Oregon so you will find that at any restaurant you eat at there, and they do charge a card use rate of I think 3%. Only gave 3 stars for the food because of the crab, the rest was good. Thanks!

This IS THE PLACE first eating dinner or lunch or whenever they're open. We had dinner and it was very very good! Oyster shooters, clam chowder, steamed clams, to start accompanied with plenty of fresh hot bread, then our mains were the Halibut, perfectly prepared with a beautiful seasoning just a touch of crust but the meat was flaky and melt in your mouth delicious, the fish and chips are the best I've had since Scotland, and finally and perhaps incongruously a chicken fried steak! It was the best I've had. Period. Sorry Texas. While the mains were enough the sides were also excellent, from my potato wedges that had a nice crunchy seasoned exterior and a lovely soft center to the real whipped potatoes seasoned with a bit of chives and butter these were amazing by themselves. Then when we're all done begging for mercy they mention their creme broule and it won the night. Hard crust creamy not too sweet smooth deliciousness. All this amazing food plus 6 adult beverages (they have a full bar) was under $200!!! Blew my mind. This is not cheap food, this is excellent food prepared excellently at a bargain price. If I lived within a 100 miles I'd be here once a week. Finally the people are the friendliest most warm and helpful group I've been around since the 80s. Proactive service! Remember those days. These people haven't ever forgotten. In businesses since 1946!!! Just a real treasure! Treat yourself and visit. Tip your waitstaff the amount you know you should have paid for this great experience!

The friendly folks from Ashland Mountain Adventures recommended this spot. My friends and I came in and we were seated right away. The food was pretty good. I had the surf and turf and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The server was very nice and took good care of us.

My son took me to Omar’s for dinner for Mother’s Day on Saturday night so we could relax and avoid the Mother’s Day crowds. I had mentioned to him months ago that I had been there back in 1980 and it had been wonderful. We had the most amazing meal and experience here! The menu was a great mix and offered something for everyone. We started with the deep fried Brussels sprouts and they were so delicious. When dinner arrived we were very happy with our choice, prime rib for us both. It was even better than I had remembered or imagined. It was perfectly prepared and we will definitely be making another trip in! Service was impeccable and my hand crafted Old Fashioned was just the best!

We stopped in for lunch. It might be time to revitalize the menu. The Omar burger was good salty but handmade - the bun didn’t hold up please consider a better choice. Not sure why you you put a big kabob stick in the middle of the burger? Steak fries well they weren’t great. $60 including tip is an amount that we expected better. We want to support your restaurant.

The first time we went, we had great service from the waitress and good food. We went back two days later and had slow service from a guy working the bar, too. When he brought our meal , I asked him why I was served soup two days before. His comment was that if I wanted soup, he would get it for me. I told him not when I had my meal in front of me.

This was our first time here. We came around 5 pm and were put in a tiny little room. It was pretty uncomfortable. They hadn't opened the large dining area yet I guess. The waiter was friendly but for there only being us and one other couple in there, we never saw the waiter. We never got our bread we asked for. He never really came to check on us. We had to hunt him down for a refill of our drink. Food was good though. My husband had the Tomahawk. I had snapper. I would say this is not for us. We spent over $200 for two people. It was definitely way over priced for the service and atmosphere. Thay bummed us out because we were really excited to try this place.

Yelp
Incredible staff, great atmosphere, delicious food! We love Omar's and how much they care about their customers. Thank you!

Yelp
I ordered filet mignon and asked for it to be cooked medium rare. I told the waitress that sometimes people hear "medium well" and I wanted to make sure it was cooked correctly for me. The waitress said she would get it right. A little later she slipped a note on the table that said they are changing their menu prices so food may be more expensive than what's stated on the menu. This was AFTER we already ordered. My steak was $3.00 more than stated on the menu. The salad was good, but not the same as in the past--they use to bring a big salad bowl with toppings on the side and you could choose the items to place on your salad. Now it's just a standard side salad. Our main course arrived and my steak looked overcooked. Half of it was okay, but the other half was well done! The waitress disappeared so I couldn't say anything to her about it. Really disappointing--especially when a filet mignon is $45! The hostess cleared our plates and I pointed out how overcooked my steak was. She could care less. My sister said her salmon was good; however, I doubt I'll go back to this restaurant. It was really good for years, but now, not so much.

Yelp
I went back even though my last review, albeit honest, was reflective of a number of poor experiences dining here... I split a burger with a friend and it was decent, like 3/5 Service was good, but the only dining area that didn't smell strongly of fish was the front/bar area and it was packed so we were lucky one group was leaving as we arrived. The music was like a radio playlist you might here at goodwill, and I heard other people at the tables we were sat next to complaining amongst themselves about how it was detracting from the experience--which I also found to be true for my friend and I. Food okay, service good, poor ambiance because of music and odor. This would be a 2.5 star review if it were possible

Yelp
Have lived here 50 yrs, Omars used to be really special. We had special party of 15...some liked their food ok and some were really disappointed, especially how expensive it is. No crab or lobster, new york steak was tough & zuchhinni fingers not worth the wait. Omars used to be a splurge but the experience was worth it.. Was there a yr ago (was expensive for what you got) plus tonight's drinks, needed to be 'sent back' and/or folks just did not finish them. Service was great and she did a great job for that many people!!!! Come on Omars, we really want you to stay in business :)

Mikey H.

Yelp
Another great celebration dinner with my fellow classmates! We all came here last year for dinner and of course had to come back! They took really great care of us! Again, we took up the whole front room and the service was great! This time I ordered one of their house specialties, Toad in the Hole. A hamburger patty on top of a baked potato with country gravy, a little salty but tasted great on that potato!

Susie B.

Yelp
Good food and great service. Pretty bad single pour red wine. Asked for fresher pour but didn't get it.

Cheri H.

Yelp
I've had good meals in the past and frequently take out of town guests but tonight we waited an hour for food and when it arrived it was cold. We informed the wait staff and they immediately offered a comp. Then the manager stopped by and offered free dessert instead. We really didn't want any more sub par food so we declined. Unfortunately Omar's is off our short list. Plenty of great food in the valley to choose from.

Casey C.

Yelp
The hosting staff has always been efficient at Omar's. But, on our last visit they had a host who made it feel like a whole new place to us. He was professional and friendly and more than anything seemed to genuinely enjoy welcoming us in and ensuring the whole visit went well. He was truly a great host the entire time we were there, not just while getting us seated. I don't know how he spells it, but his name was either Dillon or Dylan. Omar's is lucky to have him.

Yelp
CAUTION ADVISED It is very difficult to write this review of one of the Rogue Valleys oldest and most cherished restaurants. Our group of 4 was previously turned away as the whole restaurant was reserved for a party. This was in no way announced until after entering and being curtly turned away by a staff member. No apology or invitation to visit another time. Assuming it was the stress of a large group, we shrugged it off and went to Beasy's on the creek for a fantastic experience... On the most recent Friday, the four of us decided to go to Omar's again. We had reservations and were seated immediately and given menus. About 5 minutes later we were brought water and our uncomplicated drinks were ordered At 35 minutes after arrival, we got our drinks. At 40 minutes, our order was taken After we had been there an additional 20 minutesv our waitress returned telling us they were out of Hallibut specials. This was about 6:45 PM . The restaurant had many open tables, so it was not customarily busy. Three new orders were taken. The chicken fried steak could be found by any competent search dog. The seafood fettuccine was well presented and generous. Despite the glowing menu description of local batter preparation, the fish and chips were a masterful replica of SYSCO or other pre-packaged frozen preparation. Substituting snapper for the hallibut,my wife later described it as one of the worst meals she had experienced. The snapper was dry and tasteless ,accompanied by vegetables drained of flavor. Being sold out of a special by 6;45 on a not overly busy night indicates a failure if executive chef planning There are some post-pandemic modifications that linger. Their traditional generous table salad bowl is gone. They charge for bread. Menu offers are quite limited. We are 45 year "locals"? We have enjoyed Omar's for family and friends celebrations and casual drop-in dining through those years . As I indicated, this was a difficult review of a favorite haunt to write, but patrons need to be cautioned, and the owners need to have their chains jerked. Caution is advised in seeking a traditionally great dining experience at today's OMARS.

Yelp
We love the Friendly Service, Send our Complements to the chef, One pound of King Crab, Lobster, Filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes, and Sundae with Belgian chocolate. We love sharing Omar's ambiance with family and friends. Thank you!

Jeramy C.

Yelp
The food is really good and the people who work there are really friendly and it as very good alcohol drinks

David S.

Yelp
My wife and I ate there Sunday evening and had a great time. The bartender was, great as was our server, the food was great. But the hostess was amazing, funny, friendly, and helpful, she deserves a raise. We will be back often.

Leah S.

Yelp
What a lovely ambience, like your back in the 40's, so rad....and the food is 'chefs kiss'. For fancy food...we got steak and halibut, price wasn't bad. $100, and both had two cocktails. The waitstaff is amazing:) I had the hiccups, gave me a lime with turmeric. It worked!

Lee L.

Yelp
Once again, Omar's upfront dining area exceeded our expectations! The steaks were cooked to our liking and the service wonderful. The bar area is a bit dirty and sketchy. We'll be back for the steaks!

J C.

Yelp
the bar side is amazing. however terrible staff on the restaurant side. ended up leaving before my order was taken due to the rude waitress. i get you're busy. but i've worked in busy restaurants before and still was polite!

Alex E.

Yelp
Omar's is an incredible little classic joint with friendly service and a great vibe! Our server Scottie really made our experience top notch. We enjoyed a couple of Crux pilsners on the patio with dinner before moving over to the lounge. This place has a ton of history and quality food, cocktails, draft beer & more! We'll be back for sure!

Jeremy Y.

Yelp
This restaurant was very cool when you first walk in, kind of a Goodfellas feel to it. The Hostess was very nice, the waitress was a nightmare! We were from out of town and went to this restaurant on a recommendation. The waitress was out right mean. She took our drink order only to take 2 of the 5 people at our table's order and walked off. She then came back and took our order only to rush us and to sit and huff and puff. Meanwhile some locals came in and she rushed right over to take their order, The waitress brought out not 1 but 3 courses for the other table before our food. We had ordered soup that she did not even bring out. She brought our food out and disappeared. She then came back to refill water glasses as that was what most of our party was forced to drink. She would not fill my wife's glass. The bill came and everything on the bill was 5-7$'s more than on the menu. As I return home I have already contacted a lawyer to address the false menu prices and will be contacting the better business bureau in Oregon about this establishment. Truly the worst experiences I have had at an establishment. You should really reassess the people you hire. And I will be 100% the food was good, they have very quality tasting food. The last straw was 2 couples that came in and sat out on the front patio. I guess their appearance was not what was socially acceptable to this waitress as we over heard her laughing and making fun of the people sitting on the patio with other staff members. Truly, truly a horrible experience. OH and it's $117 for some burgers and 2 drinks, 1 major entree. This place has potential but I will never find out. STAY AWAY if you are not local.

Yelp
What a bizarre place!? It was like stepping back into 1970- everything from how our server was dressed and acted, to the outdated menu and decor. There was something unsettling about the whole place. Food was mediocre, and vastly overpriced for the quality.

Elena F.

Yelp
I absolutely love Ashland & the vibe at Omar's. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. My boyfriend had the burger & brew and I ordered the cobb salad w/a crisp sauvignon blanc. Food & atmosphere exceeded my expectations. Our server was a delightfully charming woman that (wo)manned that entire lounge herself. All in all, we will be back and hope to frequent this establishment often.

Melanie S.

Yelp
The food is great! Love the historical vibe of the restaurant. Our server, Erin, was sweet and accommodating. Will be back!

Oliver G.

Yelp
Really great atmosphere and high quality bar-style food for the most part. A great way to spend an evening with some friends after a long day on classes. Only issues are the sometimes limited seating and the prices being a bit high for certain menu drink items. Overall an excellent experience though.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Very bad. Omars is not anything like what it used to be. They have gone cheap on everything. Salad is no longer included and they charge forb(a meager serving of) bread. And to save an extra penny they have turned the heat down inside. Freezing! Wear a hat and gloves! Omars food was always less than exceptional but it was a positive experience because of the salad tray, plenty of bread and a cozy dining room. The steak was $39, the fish special was $30. They came with nothing. So add salad, bread, shared appetizer, wine and or a cocktail and you have a meal of over $100 per person. A very poor value for Very mediocre meal in a tired old dining room. The server was nice and pre-apologized for what he knew was going to be slow service and average food. . Go anywhere else.

Stephen F.

Yelp
Wonderful Fish & Chips dinner, friendly server, excellent Coupe Denmark for desert. It was a great place to go after this afternoon's Shakespeare play.

Anthony B.

Yelp
Drinks were good and the wait staff were great but next time you try to sell a sirloin as a NY strip don't do it to an old rancher! The atmosphere was extremely loud as well... Won't be going back as the food was way under expectations.

Kate A.

Yelp
We have come here twice now for dinner and both times we were turned away. Tonight at 8:15 they told us it would be an hour wait for food and they closed in 45 minutes. Mind you there was 10 people in the restaurant. We will never be back FYI: the restaurant was really claustrophobic and the food on people's plates did not look appetizing. We ended up at the Wild Goose and it was fantastic.

Adam P.

Yelp
Food was delicious, great customer service, and the interior has a nice old fashion style. The tables have a disclaimer statement about long wait time for food since everything is made by hand and we waited for over an hour for our food to arrive. I would recommend this more for a date night than a family outing.

Christina S.

Yelp
Omar's is like taking a little walk back in time. Feels like a diner (I love diners!), but with fancier food so don't set your expectations too high and enjoy the experience. We ordered the steak dinner and shrimp and grits. Having spent a lot of time in the south, I was a little skeptical on their ability to make a decent shrimp and grits plate. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavors and choice of toppings. The steak was perfectly cooked and came a green bean-type medley and your choice of side. We chose the $5.00 glass of Merlot that was on 'special' and while the wine was average (what can you expect) the pour was worth it. The atmosphere is casual, the red booths were a bit on the sticky side and the pictures and news clippings on the wall remind you that you are enjoying a special piece of history. Service was friendly and we were checked on periodically. There seemed to be several regulars dining in. I like that there is a small outdoor patio option to eat outside.

Darrell F.

Yelp
Wine is warmer than the Food. My wife's steak was like warm. Our mashed potatoes were cold ( no exaggeration). When we let the server know his response was he would let the owner know. No effort to correct the issues. Much of Ashland doesn't seem to care about quality or service anymore. Too bad.

Craig M.

Yelp
I was taken to Omar's for my birthday. We were seated promptly in a corner of the restaurant back room, but waited over an hour for our food to be brought out. There was no checking in to let us know a delay might take place. Any decent restaurant I have been to would come out, apologize for the delay, and offer a hors d'oeuvre, offer a drink, comp desert, or some gesture for us not getting up and walking as we talked of doing. When the food finally came, we were told one of the cooks left on an emergency. We noted that all around us got their food, not that it was very crowded. We were the last to get food and the place was nearly empty inside when we left. The food was OK, though very greasy. I had indigestion all night.

Robert S.

Yelp
2 stars because the building is cozy and welcoming. I ordered the surf and turf and got 3 small pieces of shrimp on a skewer. The shrimp had great flavor but only 3? The fillet was grisly and under cooked (ordered medium and received rare) maybe 3oz of fillet. Sad when the most flavorful part of the dish is the spinach. Had to order an appetizer after dinner. My wife ordered fillet medium well butterflied and received medium rare whole. Boring flavor. We ordered the chocolate cake and thought Costco chocolate cake is superior. With a $40 bottle of wine we spent $156. We came in with high expectations and left feeling very underwhelmed and still hungry. The service started well but left much to be desired. Omar's is overhyped as is much in the southern oregon dining experience.

J W.

Yelp
Clam chowder was good. Fisherman's stew their version of cioppino was full of potatoes and olives. Worst of all, the fish wasn't fresh, it had the fishiness taste. Chicken dish, the sauce and vegetables were delicious. But the chicken was so small and tasted just ok. Totally not worth the price. Waiter gave all his attention to my boyfriend up to the very end. My plate to put shells never came. Just before getting our bill, he asked my boyfriend if he wanted more water while my glass was also half empty. He handed him the bill. Even the very end, he handed my boyfriend the receipt and MY credit card.

Tim D.

Yelp
Having eaten here several times over the last two decades, we expected the same great food and service we had experienced in times past. Unfortunately, this visit didn't go so well. The server didn't know the specials and had trouble taking simple orders from our party of four. Due to a mistake blamed on the kitchen staff, one of our party didn't receive her meal until the other three of us had finished our meal. Server blamed it on the lack of employees and jokingly said we could buy the place as it was for sale. Server was also sarcastic with our party when we were ordering. Very strange evening and we won't go again unless something changes with ownership or management.

Jon S.

Yelp
Cool looking retro vibe building from the outside but not as cool inside. Yeah we know operating on low staff just like everyone else. Order the calamari for an appetizer and you get a large portion, problem is that it was not seasoned. Tasted like fried nothing. Choose the Chicken Fried Steak for a main. I was blown away at how good it was. Well seasoned tender meat and tasty cream gravy with a generous portion. Side of mixed veggies we crispy and delicious. Baked potato was good but could have been even better with some shredded cheddar and bacon added. I would definitely return and order it again just not the calamari.

Lynne W.

Yelp
First time ever going there and we will be back. Food was amazing!! The only thing I would say is they are so busy and doing everything they can, it will take a long time to get things from them just be patient, have a cocktail and an appetizer while you wait. So worth the wait.

Kathy B.

Yelp
I have dined at Omar's twice, and I was not impressed with the food either time. They are promoted as a steak and seafood restaurant, but I think if you are not a steak eater, you are in for a disappointment. I am mostly Vegan, but will have seafood a couple times a year, so I had decided on the halibut. They were out of halibut. The alternative was red snapper, but the red snapper filet was cooked in butter, which eliminated that option. I chose the red snapper "burger", and asked for it to be on toasted sourdough bread instead of the traditional bun, which is made with dairy, The bread was so lightly toasted, it turned soggy after a few bites. I took the soggiest pieces off and ate the fish open faced. The snapper was dry and very salty. So, except for the nice side salad, my meal was below par. On the positive side, the atmosphere was fine, and the hostess and waitress were very pleasant, and they accommodated my request to bring in my own birthday cake, and delivered it to the table with lighted candles. Very nice. However, I am sorry to report that I won't be going there again.

Thomas F.

Yelp
Food was great. Rustic place. Staff was decent. Pricey and off the beaten path from most places but was close to our hotel. Terrible parking availability. If there's no other option and your close by then try this place.

Steven H.

Yelp
Excellent! Friendly attentive staff. The oyster shooters were very good. Large and full of flavor - a sign of freshness and quality sourcing. Filet Mignon was superb - as good as any fine restaurant. Grilled snapper and flat steak also excellent. The decor is classic, and seating is rich and comfortable. None of that "trendy" metal chair crap. Thanks for a great dinner Omar's!

Sharon L.

Yelp
The halibut on a mashed potato bed and Salmon with the Arugula salad was excellent. The waitress was very attentive

Raquel F.

Yelp
First time in. The food and background music was perfect. Cozy spot for a rainy Sunday evening. We love this place and definitely will be back.

Holly M.

Yelp
So so wonderful! Food is delicious! Atmosphere is so classy and comfy! Everyone was so helpful and kind! I am new to the area and my boyfriend ordered food from California for delivery through UberEats but something happen and the order canceled after an hr with Uber eats. We called the restaurant and they made it happen for pick up!!! Lana helped us!! She was lovely! When I walked in to pick up the order I was greeted by all the staff right away. Nothing was to big to make happen! My dinner was absolutely perfect! We ordered filet. PERFECTLY COOKED!!!!!! Beautiful!! Potato so tasty! Ordered garlic fries!!! Mushrooms for the filet and veggies YUM! Fresh tasty!!!!! Beautiful salad! Good quality!!! The ranch awesome!!!! Just so happy oh and the chocolate with chocolate sauce and ice cream!!!! Bread and butter!!! Totally spoiled! Will definitely be back! Felt so welcome! Thank you Omar's!

Roxann P.

Yelp
It's a don't bother, unless your into a burger and beer in the bar. It should be called Omar's burger and beer barn!! They don't care about customer service. It's not the Omar's it use to be.

Roxann P.

Yelp
I have to say that we have been soooo disappointed in the last few interactions we have had in Omars, but none as much as Monday 4-18-2023. My husband and I started going here about 40 years ago and were fiercy loyal during Covid but yesterday we drove about and hour south to this resteraunt and found they no longer have the salad bowl (thats all I wanted for lunch) and the answer was, "oh we haven't had them since Covid", ok get past that, (even though why would they not just make one for me if thats what I wanted?) ok well we really came over to get salad dressing (both the blue cheese and the Italian) which we have eaten for over 40 years. The waitress was very nice and said oh sure. She then took our order and came back about 10 minutes later and said "we can't spare the salad dressing per the PREP COOK". Flabbergasted I asked what that meant? "well the prep cook said she has to make it today but not right now"????????? I made sure she knew I wasn't trying to get it for free (have paid a lot for each in the past but I enjoy it so wasn't worried about cost). This had no impact on the decision to make more salad dressing. BTW there was one couple in the bar and two single men having beers and then my husband and myself so no around at about 1:00 pm. I let the waitress know I would love to speak to the manager. She was not around so I left my phone number. She called me today and instead of listening to a VERY GOOD CUSTOMER, she proceeded to tell me she is the owner but does the job of 5. Somehow, I was disconnected several times when I tried to tell her my story, finally got a hold of her again and "I am the only one here and i have to open the restaurant and be the bartender so can I call you later"?? We are saddened and know this restaurant will not make it when customer service is not first and foremost. I won't bother Jennifer again with my story as I can tell it won't matter what I say, it falls on deaf ears. When does a prep cook decide she can't make more salad dressing? even if they said we can but can you come back we would have??!! Service here is GONE. We then went to lunch in Medford Oregon and $50.00 later left asking why do we keep trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear?? Because we are loyal but have to move on. I guess nothing stays the say!! Super disappointed. BTW they need to rename this place, OMARS Burger and beer barn. That may work for them. Nothing wrong with the bar!!

Kent S.

Yelp
just made a reservation at Omar's. We used to love going there and they had a nice salad try. After the dude who took down my reservations for tonight acted like he was just another rude Ashland restaurant owner and had a attitude problem telling me that "we used to have it but threw away to much food and covid and so and so and sounded like I was wasting his precious time. After hanging up I spoke to my wife about his behavior and she, "just call him back and cancel the reservation". That's just what I did. Get some better manners Omar's when your unfriendly people answer the phone and speak to a customer. I don't appreciate this treatment from you or anyone else. Over and out. Never going back there again.

Dara C.

Yelp
Granted, the fish and chips are excellent at Omar's. I can't praise the chef enough for that dish. Having said that, I was so disappointed in my overall experience. I arrived at 4, when there was hardly anyone in the place except for a few bar patrons. And yet, I waited, waited, waited for my salad, which eventually arrived WITH the main meal. It was hard to juggle all of the plates as the salad should have arrived before the main meal. Nonetheless, at least food eventually showed up. I asked for a wine list and found they were "all out" of chardonnay. How does that happen? I've never run into that one before. Okay, so I went with another choice. Let that go...But then after the meal, I ordered the pumpkin cheesecake that was supposedly on the menu for fall, only to find out, "I'm sorry, but it's not been cooked yet." Huh?! By this time, the main restaurant had opened but no chardonnay and no pumpkin cheesecake--all out of one and the other not cooked yet. Right. Then the check came and there was a mysterious $2.00 "fee" on it. What the---? I inquired and was told it was a credit card fee. Are you serious? A $2 credit card fee on a $60 bill for just one person?! I found that so tasteless (I'd never seen anything like it at any of the better restaurants in Ashland) that, while I plunked that down, I had to come on to Yelp to post this overall review. If not for the delicious fish and chips (albeit at $20!!), I'd never set foot in this ill-managed restaurant again. Very disappointed.

Yelp
The food was just meh. Calamari was just a mass of greasy batter. No legs in the calamari which makes me think pork bung (look it up if you don't already know). The fish in the fish & chips was grey, not white, which is odd. The steak fries were just over cooked slices of baked potato. A really disappointing meal.

Yelp
We were so excited to try this place. But it is really one to pass on. After an hour with no soup or salad, we gave up and left. Awful service. And the staff just blames it all on an overworked and temperamental chef. They don't care. Just resting on their past glory. Skip it and move on.

Yelp
So delicious!!! My husband and I had never been here before and came for our anniversary on a recommendation from a friend. Omar's did not disappoint! The staff was so friendly and accommodating and really made us feel welcome and appreciated. I was so happy we could actually sit down for dinner and not have to take out because of Covid. I absolutely love the fact that they are a local landmark!! Fun facts, they have been in business since 1946 and are the longest running continuously operating restaurant from Portland Oregon to Redding California! Their restaurant is like stepping back in time in the best way!! It has a very warm, inviting atmosphere and their vintage feel is reminiscent of a restaurant scene from an old gangster movie! I love it! The food was A MAZ ING! the steak was far bigger than I had expected so be warned. It could easily feed two people or be several meals. We were beyond gluttonous but at Omar's, it's easy to be! We will definitely come back. I highly recommend visiting this Southern Oregon landmark and enjoying a fabulous meal!!!

Yelp
We were treated very well last night for my birthday party of 8. Great food(escargot, Brussels sprout appetizers ) great service for our loud party. Had a great time. Fresh fish and chips , very reasonable. Thank you for letting us bring our birthday cake.

Yelp
We were in the bar portion of this local hangout, very small and crowded with locals after work. The bar menu is on the board overhead, featuring simple burgers and fried food, about 20 items. We sampled several, but found them okay but the price somewhat high at $7.50 plus 50 cents extra for cheese. We asked for tater tots rather than fries, but got fries anyway... our friend ordered an appetizer of Butternut Ravioli and she loved them. Apparently the ravioli comes from the restaurant side menu and is not normally a part of the bar food. You can order from the restaurant menu and be served in the bar, but beware prices are high. All in all an okay experience. We were there to meet with friends and were sitting at the largest table, so many times the waitress appeared to basically hurry us up .. it's difficult to have friendly catch up conversation when being rushed . We would have stayed for another round or two, but didn't feel the hospitality. There are many places to drink and eat in Ashland, so be sure to explore some of our favorites such as the Growler Guys, Caldera Tap Room, the Caldera Brewery, and The Black Sheep. Louie's is amazing too, with an all day Recession Burger for 6 bucks. It's awesome !

Yelp
Very, very slow with getting dinner; over an hour, and the restaurant was half full. Plan for a long wait!!! Okay
