Ombellule - Review - 6th Arr. - Lyon - The Infatuation
"Tabata and Ludovic Mey, two of Lyon's best-known chefs, found instantaneous success when they opened Ombellule in fall 2024. It's classic in look: Art Deco furnishings and paintings, with wood so well buffed you can see your face in it. Fame hasn’t gone to their head, and the €58, four-course lunch menu is an excellent value, with plenty of surprise "extra" dishes. The nutty sunflower seed risotto stays year-round, and the toppings change according to season, but can include ingredients like morels and ground ivy leaves. The fresh and tangy scallops starter is a winner, topped with artistic petals made from kombu and turnip. Brasserie Roseaux next door belongs to the same chefs, with a cheaper bistro menu." - Anna Richards
