The 24 Best Restaurants In Lyon - Lyon - The Infatuation

"Tabata and Ludovic Mey, two of Lyon's best-known chefs, found instantaneous success when they opened Ombellule in fall 2024. It's classic in look: Art Deco furnishings and paintings, with wood so well buffed you can see your face in it. Fame hasn’t gone to their head, and the €58, four-course lunch menu is an excellent value, with plenty of surprise "extra" dishes. The nutty sunflower seed risotto stays year-round, and the toppings change according to season, but can include ingredients like morels and ground ivy leaves. The fresh and tangy scallops starter is a winner, topped with artistic petals made from kombu and turnip. Brasserie Roseaux next door belongs to the same chefs, with a cheaper bistro menu." - anna richards

A beautiful journey, truly artisanal from start to finish, every dish a work of art, the parsnip desert, wow, the razor clams, exciting, the mushroom dish, heavenly, the char, an adventure, the pigeon, a joy, and the onion icredible, highy recommended

Beautiful ambience and design in this little restaurant with thoughtful and creative dishes. Even when taking the 3 course lunch menu, everything was presented with care and attention, as those who had taken the full tasting menu. We especially enjoyed the use of flowers, herbs, and algae as compliments to well-executed dishes.

I must admit that I didn't really connect with the food, I believe it's a case for lack of "chemistry with the chef", and also my failure to fully read and understand the menu. However, I still appreciate that it was very spectacular food indeed. Needless to say that the service personnel were extremely professional and kind as well, as befitting a restaurant of this level.

Ombellule is elegance of the highest level. A beautiful setting and perfect service. The 10 course meal was refined yet inventive and surprising with each plate. Tabata and Ludovic Mey continue to astound and spoil us with their creativity. My absolute favorites are Vagues des Prunes ( tartare de bar ), Ronde des Saisons ( sunflower seed risotto ), Rivages, Racines & Ombellule ( Lotte rotie ) and À la Brune Rosée ( duckling ).

Delightful restaurant - creative food and a move in a new direction without being jarring. Vegetable forward but in a good way. Minor quibbles - decor lovely but a bit confused, room slightly warm, service still to find an approach consistent with food. But really none of this gets in the way at all. Overall, the feel of young hip team growing into what they will become with an experienced capital provider behind them. I will go back.

Everything was amazing - food was outstanding, the atmosphere is perfect, and the friendly and accommodating team who works there is top notch. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

We were in Lyon for a long weekend and had lunch at Ombellule. It was one of the best restaurants I have ever been to, I would visit Lyon again just to eat there.

Really excellent tasting menu and stand out dining experience including kitchen tour during amuse-bouche. We had such a lovely time.
