I have been wanting to go here for a while for a date with my wife. It was amazing! From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Donovan sat us and explained every detail of the menu and the he handed us to Andrea who was phenomenal. Can't wait to return. Great spot!

Absolutely loved this place! My boyfriend and I travel looking for great artisan cocktails. We’ve found great places in Miami, Sarasota and Charleston. Now excited to find delicious and beautifully crafted cocktails near home. thanks to Donovan and crew at Ombré for a great experience!

Ombra is such a gem in Boonton—perfect for a girls’ night or a cozy date night. The small bites are delicious and ideal for sharing, and the $15 wine flight on Wednesdays is a must. Desserts with a cappuccino are the perfect way to end the night, and if wine isn’t your thing, the cocktails are just as fun (I can’t say no to a limoncello mule!🍋). Kat has been our waitress every visit lately and she is absolutely wonderful—so kind and welcoming. I recommend Ombra to anyone looking for a truly cozy Italian experience.

This is a great cocktail bar that serves delicious drinks and charcuterie. If you’re looking to eat dinner here I would recommend otherwise. Prices are a bit high for the serving sizes you get, but price does reflect in the quality of food received! I have come here before for an aperitivo before going elsewhere for dinner. Seating in both the upper and lower level, but I prefer the lower.

Meats on the board were great. Cheese were cut so thin; the Parmesan slice we got looked like the ends cause it was so hard and couldn’t be cut easily. They gave us two small pieces of bread for the grande board. Whe asked for a refill of said bread, server said okay but never went back with any bread. Server gave us a different drink but corrected that about 20mins later. Burrata didn’t come with any type of bread around it which was the first. Flatbread was served ~45mins after the other food came out. Gorgonzola was very strong and empowered all other flavors in it. Overall experience was a so-so in my opinion. Spent $150 that night for two and still gave a 40% tip although I’m not sure I’ll be back.

Amazing hidden gem. Not a bad cocktail on the menu, fantastic wines, and impeccable service (Matthew and Veronica were so friendly). So many great food options - will be back to explore more of the menu. Can’t recommend enough.

A quick visit after a trip to Manhattan and this place did not disappoint! Great food (the kiwi/strawberry salad was amazing) and impeccable service. Quality wine flight and amazing cocktails. What a gem!

Impressive small plates, charcuterie, and cocktail. Great views of the valley. Perfect spot to hang out with friends at happy hour. Price was not too high, but it’s easy to go overboard. Special note: the ONLY place in the NYC area where I have been served real Sicilian anchovies (they are NOT like American ones).

Very fun restaurant to dine at. They have an upstairs and a downstairs dining area downstairs is darker vibes, not in a bad way. Upstairs different vibe then down and it's brighter. The service was great, Stephanie was out waitress downstairs and she was great. Very informative with the menu and also friendly. The food was always very fun and enjoyable lots of flavor. Great cheeses, meats, and everything else. Will be back soon.

The mixologists know what they're doing here. Incredible drinks, beautiful venue, and delicious tapas style dishes. We've been frequent visitors to Ombra and that won't be changing.

Don't sleep on Ombra! This experience was as decadent and classy as any I'd hope for, and it's a reason I'll be spending an increasing amount of free time in Boonton. My house cocktail, the Mulberry & Grand, was a smooth, strong, yet refined blend of rye, amaro, and grapefruit bitters, which I kept returning to throughout my meal. The red gem salad is outstanding: acidic, textured, salty, and smoky, it was compulsively edible, and I wasn't even in the mood for salad. Our meat & cheese plate was textbook charcuterie: super thinly sliced proteins for maximum flavor extraction per calorie; long flavor profiles, and delectable. I love the look inside, and the unrushed pacing of our dishes encouraged a meal progression while we enjoyed our time. On a Thursday evening at 7p, all the seats at the bar were already filled, and there were three parties in the upstairs room, with room for another four parties. I'll certainly be back to explore more of the drinks!

Nice to find a place opened past 11 PM. We stopped by for dessert and a glass of wine. Cozy modern bar with upstairs and downstairs seating areas. Great service and yummy peanut butter dessert.

I truly enjoyed my experience Ombra . I absolutely love the concept of the restaurant. Everything from the small plates to the meats and cheeses was delicious. The drinks were perfection, perfectly crafted and balanced. And the rainbow cookie cake dessert was just Magnificent! This place is perfect for happy hour, a date night, or any occasion. I can't wait to come back

This place has such a cool, cozy vibe! With both an upstairs and downstairs bar, dim lighting, and an amazing playlist that I could not stop singing along to lol We stopped in for drinks, and as a dedicated espresso martini lover, I had to try one here--and wow, it did not disappoint. Smooth, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious. Honestly, I'd come back just for the espresso martinis alone!

Really cool idea, fun drinks and appetizer options. Not a huge menu to pick from but definitely delicious from what we got. A fun girls date. The staff were helpful with the wine selection and menu and very friendly!

Finally made it to Ombra. A really different and cool dining experience. First to arrive, I grabbed a seat at their oak bar, where I could check out their impressive array of quality wine and liquors while Jake, a talented mixologist, carefully prepared my Woodford Bourbon Manhattan. Featuring seasonal cocktails with an Italian flare, and wines that focus on the northern regions of Italy, this looked right up my alley. The menu consists of a variety of small plates; meat and cheese boards (tagliare), and cicchetti (small bites) served on crostini. Our server helped suggest a nice wine to pair with our choices. Note: This is not the place to come if you're looking for your usual big plate of pasta dinner or chicken parmigiana. Excellent way to enjoy some time with friends in a very cool and relaxing environment. Although I had reserved a table in the downstairs dining room, which has a very speakeasy type of vibe, we were enjoying ourselves so much in the upstairs lounge area that we elected to grab a table and hang out there. A great place to visit and another great addition to downtown Boonton. Give it a try when you're in the area. Street parking. 09/12/2024

Ombra has always been a great experience for us. The food is delicious and the drinks are excellent. The atmosphere is inviting and comforting. Service is top notch. Happy hour specials and music are a great attraction. Definitely would recommend

Found this great bar by checking out Main Street. The drinks were fantastic and the cicchetti I had was fantastic (Brie, apple butter and walnuts), Cole and Donovan made me feel so welcome. Will definitely be going back and bringing a friend. Don't miss out on this place.

This is such a cute wine bar. They have good happy hour options. They have small bites which are great to much on with some wine but don't come here expecting to fill up for dinner. Highly recommend coming here for happy hour before a dinner or for a nightcap.

Once again, a great experience at Ombra. We prefer the lounge downstairs. Drinks were crafted perfectly, staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The selection of meats, cheeses and sides was perfect. Love it.

A hidden gem in downtown Boonton! Ombra is a great spot for tapas and drinks. The inside has a gorgeous bar area and plenty of seating. They have charcuterie boards and cicchetti (Venetian for small bites). The servers were very kind and helpful with explaining the restaurant concept and menu items. The options are usually seasonal but warm fontina and pepper jelly cicchetti was my favorite. The flavor of the pepper jelly was strong but the fontina balanced it well. The cicchetti made a great pairing with the Ombra spritz. I also ordered the burrata which came with this delicious blueberry compote on top. Overall a lovely and unique dining experience I would recommend to anyone in the area!

First time at Ombra will definitely NOT be our last! We had a great experience starting at the bar with Andrea (I think...) making a few different "signature cocktails" that were executed perfectly. The music really fit their overall vibe too. Paul took over as we moved to our table. He set us up with a few items from each section of the menu and everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back and check out the downstairs area...

I this place! Excellent wines, small plates and charcuterie boards. Great place to just chill with friends. The ambiance is really cool. Excellent specials. I always take my out of town visitors to Ombra.

Amazing. Nice spot. We needed this in our area! Very Friendly, helpful and fun staff. Good service and good ambience will definitely be back! Small bites a bit pricey though. And it's hard to justify paying for two 3" diameter Melba toast with spread and paying that much. But presentation is nice and enjoyed the experience overall.

Had a really nice experience here last night. Our server/host went through every single menu item (because we had questions on everything oops) with patience and also took special care regarding allergies. I really appreciate that he didnt seemed bothered and took it seriously which resulted in us being able to enjoy everything we ordered (and even ordered more!) He had a super friendly and kind attitude. Food and wine were great, atmosphere was lovely. Thank you Cole and staff! Will be back :)

Out of control good. There are no words in the English language for how much I love this place. The portions are small, tapas. Each one exquisite and excellent. The drinks are well-made and beyond belief. Yummy. The staff is exceptional. They are conversational and they have fantastic recommendations. Don't skip dessert. It dessert wines are exactly what the doctor ordered to relax you and shift you seamlessly into evening mode. The chocolate butterscotch bomb is not to be missed. I am not a caramel fan but it is not exceptionally sweet. The ambience is delightful. Not overdone. Just simple. Also the music isn't so loud that you can't have a nice conversation. I was there on my anniversary and I was able to converse with my wife and the exceptional bar staff there. We had a phenomenal time. Honestly, there was no part of this that I would change. What a spot. Perfect for a date night or a catch up with friends. I haven't had a drink here I don't love! The bartenders are amazingggg and the small bites are so flavorful and good. Please don't sleep on this spot- it is too good!

Came here for our four anniversary and it was so beautiful. The food and service were both delightful. Definitely recommending to everyone we know and dragging our friends. Love a spot with mocktails

Cozy elegance with wonderful craft cocktails and a curated selection of Italian wines. Perfect friendly service including strong knowledge about the wine offerings. The small plates were exceptional, particularly the humus with veggies and crostini. Reasonably priced. We would have stayed for twice as long if it wasn't snowing heavily. I'd expect to find a place like this in Montclair or Hoboken. It clearly fills an unmet need in Northern Morris County.

My wife and I stopped in here for the first time on 1/11/25 after a night out and wanting dessert. Very cool spot with a little basement bar also. Attentive staff. Had a peanut butter chocolate cake, cappuccino and wine. Good selections of desserts and a full bar. We will be back.

We've been in to Ombra twice and had a great experience both times. We enjoyed their craft cocktails and wine selection, as well as their small plates. The servers were very helpful in the selection process, but also did not impeded on our conversations. The space was warm and inviting, and we found it perfect for a night out with friends.

Great staff and ambiance! The only reason it's not getting a 5 star is due to the puny cicchetti. They taste really good but are on the smallest bread you can imagine. Not like the real deal in Venice, you need bigger bread! The truffle burrata is amazing though as are some serious good cocktails! I'll keep going, maybe the bread will change:)

Super nice place. The decor is unlike any other spot in Boonton. Very upscale. The service was great. Jake the bartender was mixing some really delicious cocktails. The wine was very good as well. The menu needs more plant based options. There was a salad and one melba toast that didn't have meat and dairy on it. A few more options would be nice. If they want people to stay and drink they need to offer bread or something like that because the small plates are very small. We will definitely go back for the drinks and atmosphere. I'm only giving it 4 stars because of the lack of food options for vegans.

Waited a long time to get service at the bar even though there were only 5 people in the entire place. One of the bartenders was focused on prepping and the other chatting. The portions are really small. I get that they are tapas but REALLY small for the price. Great atmosphere and wonderful wine selection. If they can figure out food that fits their theme and is reasonably priced this could easily become my go to place.

I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately I didn't. We sat downstairs. Five stars for atmosphere (minus the annoyingly, loud boom boom/rap music playing downstairs) which I did not find relaxing for dining whatsoever. I checked the menu online and decided there were several options that sounded good, but when I got there none of those options were on the menu. I ordered the panzanella. It was so bad I had to send it back. Then ordered crostini. I was shocked when the waiter put them on the table--literally 2 tiny bites. Seriously? At least 6 would still have been "small" and cost the restaurant literally 50 cents more and I am the type of person who gets fully easily and never finishes anything. It was delicious however, but two tiny bites is a joke. I left hungry with an empty wallet.

The food ,service and ambiance were top shelf. We enjoyed the various cichetti ( small,delicious bites) and the Italian meats with accompanied cheeses was outstanding

Loved Ombra! Went for pre-dinner drinks and snacks. Great service, nice atmosphere. The food was fresh and was a nice CB angle form the usual Italian. Can't wait to go back!

Love coming here! EXCEPT! WHY ARE THEY SOOOO STINGY WITH BREAD? We made reservations for 6, had cocktails and got 2 HUGE cheese boards! When the food came out they gave us ONE PIECE OF BREAD! Immediately we all stopped talking and I called the waiter back. I asked for 5 more of the small buns because there were 6 OF US! INSANE! If anything we should get a basket full of bread. WHAT IS THE ISSUE? It should go without saying that how can 6 people share one tiny bun of bread? after spending 400 dollars plus we left hungry! I am not understanding why the waiters looked at us appalled when we asked for bread. Blows my mind!

Amazing service, tapas style food and drinks! Such a different vibe for Boonton, definitely takes you out of the small town and into a Hoboken/Morristown feel. Loved everything so far can't wait to see what's in the future. Wish this establishment the best, can't wait to be back!
