"The open stainless kitchen blends seamlessly with the minimal dining room at Omni, making a meal feel like dining at a friend’s house — if your friend had a sick kitchen kit and had mastered binchotan coals. Owners John Yip and Jamie Yeon are at the restaurant for every service, adding to the homey vibe, and the food comes out at a leisurely pace, allowing you to make your way through the low-intervention wine list. Dishes show a Japanese influence, with yakitori chicken parts, whisky highballs, and sake on offer, but where Omni really shines is in its playful renditions of much-loved classics from around the globe: Think boujee prawn toast, cumin lamb skewers on flaky roti, and udon noodles tossed in a “miso e pepe” sauce. — LJ" - Hillary Eaton, Leisha Jones

Great experience overall with a small menu that packs a punch, as well as the drinks! We accidentally came to this place as the next door pizza place was full. We were attracted with the nice decor and great vibes and were not disappointed. Right off the bat the sashimi was fresh and delicious and the tare tare was one of the best I’ve had as it had a quick hit of flavour and as it marinates in your mouth you appreciate all the subtle flavours and textures. The prawn toast was another highlight and it reminds you a lot of a lobster roll as it has similar textures as well as the celery adding to the taste. Service was great and highly recommend checking this place out!

There's some criticism about the amount of food, but I don't agree. It's well-priced considering its quality. I think the menu is aimed at perfect wine pairings, so some dishes were a bit salty on their own, but overall, it's really amazing. I especially loved the mussels and yakitori soft bone. They aren't part of the set menu, so I ordered them individually.

Staff is awesome. Great service. Yakitori Softbone>Wing>Meatball>Thigh>Heart. Prawn toast is super nice. Must ask for dessert. A nice couple next to us also shouted us dessert. Very nice restaurant to spend time with Dory.

Easy five stars. Nice little “hole in the wall” Japanese restaurant with a lot of character! Open kitchen - so it was really entertaining watching the chefs prepare the sashimi and all the other food. Speaking of the food, best sashimi I have ever had, the skewers are all distinctly different and tasty in there own way, and a well balanced menu! Service was amazing, very friendly and polite. Food came out in a quick manner but not rushed by any means. Oh and the “sour flavoured beer” on offer was awesome, great flavour and something that was nice just to slowly sip on and not scull. For those not interested in wine I recommend trying this!

We loved your food when you had Peasant and was really looking forward to trying out Omni. For the innovation and sauce combination your food is amazing. However we found a number of your dishes too salty, with the sauce too overpowering (katsu sando, chicken thigh, and meatballs skewers). The chicken wings had way too much seasoning powder I couldn't taste the chicken itself. What I really liked though was the raw fish with white soy (interesting combination of flavours), the egg yolk for the meatballs, and mushroom dish was divine. We ordered three drinks, the set menu @ $70 each and two extra skewers the total came to $200.

We came here as my partner knows the owners (first time for me dining here) and the food was delish, gorgeous little restaurant, with excellent service. The food was soo tasty, flavoursome, with clean/simple presentation and I definitely walked out very happy!!! Will definitely be back here.

Portions small, so it’s kinda pricey for what it is. But the food is great and they had a good wine menu + vibe.

This is the place to go on Dominion Rd, We had the set menu and let the team and omni show us what they had on offer. You can’t go wrong, everything was good the wine list is good the entrees are good even the salad was so good I had to put a special mention in for it. Stand outs were the eggplant, Katsu Sando and the sashimi. Also th me yakitori is bloody good very high quality cuts of meat used and the method of preparation is on point. Next time I’ll get the clams!
