I was in Downtown for a conference and booked the Omni as a nearby hotel to unwind at the end of the day, but this was not the case. Unfortunately, my room had no sound proofing. Even on the 18th floor, I could hear noise from the street and people walking up and down the hallway until midnight. There was even a time when my whole room shook from (maybe) an airplane. I also had a hard time with my blackout curtains, which would not close all the way. So not only did the noise keep me up but it was also hard to sleep in. The WiFi also kept going in and out, making it hard for me to do work.
Furthermore, the outdoor amenities were not usable because of the weather (rain) and the indoor spaces were crowded with people with no place to sit. Not their fault per say, but I would expect a luxury hotel to offer free lobby coffee or something like that for the hefty resort fee.
Also at the lobby, there are two sets of heavy doors, which did not have an automatic opener or doorman. This made it very difficult to carry around my luggage and conference materials.
I also stayed at a hotel in Midtown a few days earlier for sightseeing, which was $100 less per night, but unlike the Omni, it offered a Nashville restaurant guide for places in walking distance, complimentary slippers, complimentary coffee or wine upon arrival, and much better bathroom toiletries. Whereas, Omni's Select Guest program is clunky and hard to understand with things as basic as the WiFi. For the amount per night I spent, I expected much more.
