The Best Boba Tea Shops in San Diego | Eater San Diego

"Drawing huge crowds when it landed at Del Mar Highlands Town Center last summer, boba fans are still lining up at this SoCal mini-chain with a sterling reputation. The Omomo Matcha is a favorite as is the milk flavored with housemade taro paste and the Gyokuro Creamomo, a special green tea from Japan topped with tiramisu or cheese foam." - Candice Woo

Omomo Tea Shoppe Opens in San diego | Eater San Diego

"Since it opened at Del Mar Highlands Town Center near Sidecar Doughnuts, I've seen an ever-present line — the long-awaited Omomo Tea Shoppe appears to be delivering a new breed of boba to San Diego. Recognized by Eater LA as one of four extraordinary boba shops in Southern California, it serves supremely Instagrammable drinks in a chic, minimalist setting. The menu is divided into milk teas, coffees, seasonal specials, and Cremomo drinks (topped with cheese foam or tiramisu), and popular beverages include the Omomo Matcha; the Camo Thai (a swirled Thai iced milk tea poured into a caramel brulee cup for extra creaminess); the Caffe Latte (sweetened black coffee layered with whole milk and topped with tiramisu foam); and fresh fruit offerings like the limited-edition Itchy Peachy with white peaches and the Fruit Tornado Mango, a mango smoothie swirled with cheese foam. Optional add-ons include boba, fruit cream, and matcha brulee cream. Because drinks are made fresh and meant to be consumed immediately, Omomo does not offer delivery, and the San Diego shop is currently open limited hours (noon–4 p.m., closed Wednesdays) with plans to extend hours as operations ramp up, though the company has no timeline for expanded hours or additional San Diego locations." - Helen I. Orange County’s Outstanding Omomo Tea Shoppe Expanding to San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Named by Eater LA as one of the four most extraordinary boba tea specialists in all of Southern California, where its three shops in Irvine and Chino Hills frequently draw hour-long lines, Omomo Tea Shoppe is venturing south to San Diego where it’s joining the high-caliber mix food and drink at Del Mar Highlands Town Center." - Candice Woo

The best boba shop! Fast service, great atmosphere and delicious teas. So much flavors to choose from! I ordered Jasmine milk tea with tiramisu foam, boba, and less ice. Absolutely delicious. I highly recommend and will be coming back. Great prices too😊

Google
The best matcha I’ve ever had is right here! Omomo Matcha is out of this world—no matter how many times I go, I always order it! Their signature drink is truly the best. Back when they were only in Irvine, I’d always bring three cups back to SD to enjoy slowly. Now that they’ve opened a shop right by my place, I can go on weekdays when the line is shorter. Too bad online ordering isn’t available yet, so you usually have to wait in line. Sweetness level at 30%-50% is perfect! Fellow matcha lovers, don’t miss this!

Google
This boba place is one of my fav shops in all SD! I just need an excuse to go here even if it’s in Del Mar! I love all the blended and seasonal drinks here! The matcha is superb!!

Google
We visited on Wednesday afternoon and only waited a few minutes in line. Since it’s the seasonal special, we all went for peach drinks—I got the Itchy Peachy, and my friends had the Peach Oolong. The color was so pretty, a soft pink, and the taste did not disappoint! It was light and refreshing, with just the right amount of peach flavor. I went for 30% sugar, and it was perfect. The drink wasn’t too heavy, which I loved, and you could really taste the real peach chunks. The only downside was the staff—they seemed a bit rushed when I had questions as a first-time customer, but overall, a great experience! Definitely worth a try, especially on a hot day!

Google
Very unhappy with the drink I got, the two mango tornado tasted watery and the quality was terrible. Here’s the comparison with previous drinks. The color difference is very noticeable!

Raana J.

Google
My friend and I got matcha cortado and strawberry tornado. The lady helping us was very patient even though there was a line behind us. It is nice that you can customize your drink, add or eliminate the ingredients you don’t want. I didn’t get add added sugar or the cheese foam since tiramisu adds enough sweets. They have many varieties of tea on their menu. I would advise to pay attention to see what your drink has so you can customize it to your own taste. The only drawback is there is no seating available. Enjoy your visit. 😋

Home of the Best Matcha Drink I’ve Ever Tasted I’m thrilled to see the famous boba milk tea franchise, Omomo, expanding from Irvine to the San Diego area. Their new Del Mar location, conveniently located near the I-5 freeway, brings the same signature taste and sleek, modern decor that fans know and love. The special menu mirror and distinctive logo design add a fun and unique aesthetic touch to the space. Must-Try Drinks Omomo Matcha: Without a doubt, the star of the show. This is easily the best matcha drink I have ever tasted—perfectly balanced, rich, and satisfying. It’s a drink that keeps you coming back for more. Taro and Mochi Drinks: The new taro and mochi offerings are absolutely fantastic. Packed with chewy mochi, these drinks feel more like a dessert and are perfect for an indulgent afternoon tea. Summer Specials: The Pineapple Milk Tea is a refreshing blend of tropical pineapple flavor and creamy milk tea, while the Itchy Peach is another summer favorite that’s light, fruity, and a must-try. White Peach Oolong with Cheese Foam: A great option for those who love oolong tea. The white peach adds a fruity twist, while the cheese foam elevates the flavor with its creamy, savory note. The Experience Omomo’s consistent quality across locations is impressive, but expect to wait, especially during peak times. Even on a Tuesday at 2 PM, you might encounter a waiting lane. That said, the experience is absolutely worth it—Omomo drinks are an unmatched treat for tea and boba lovers alike. Final Thoughts Omomo continues to deliver its signature high-quality drinks and creative flavors with this new Del Mar location. Whether you’re a matcha enthusiast, a boba lover, or just looking for a refreshing new tea, Omomo has something for everyone. Be patient with the lines—they’re a small price to pay for what might be the best boba drinks in town!

Google
This place is the best I’ve tried in North County. It’s very fresh and well-made. The vibe of the place is cool too although there is no seating. There are many drinks I’ve never heard of that are unique to the shop, so I’d recommend doing your research before going.

Yelp
Good things are worth the wait. Patiently waiting for food boba everytime I visit. The staff are hard working and welcoming. The place is clean and organized. Drinks are made fresh but it takes a while because they add their foil seal before fulfilling orders. I'll be back soon.

Yelp
[ Drinks ] 4 out of the 4 drinks we ordered were really good. I ordered the Uji Green Milk Tea, and tried: Camo Thai, Oreo Brulee Green Milk Tea, and Itchy Peachy. [ Service ] Customer service was great and the drinks came out fairly quick despite the line. Aesthetic of the shop is cute. [ Parking ] There's parking in the plaza, we luckily found a spot in front of the shop. [ Restroom ] No restrooms.

Yelp
We Love Omomo! Went here several times, been in a long line on a sunshine weekend noon, been there when there's no line on a cloudy weekend afternoon. Itchy peachy and strawberry tornado are my favorites, 50% sugar recommended by staff does taste better than quarter sugar. I don't like my drink too sweet, but 50% sugar with these two drinks are just so right. Believe me, these 2 drinks really will bright your day :). It does worth the long wait. Black jade milk tea (no sugar) with one shot of espresso also tastes wonderful! If you prefer milk tea over fruity drink, you will like this one. Matcha lover will fall for Matcha Cortado for sure! not to mention their boba is also super fresh and delicious. Next to the cashier, their menu is on the mirror (how cool it is!) You do need to check it out when you stand in the line. The lighting and interior design will give you 'wow pretty' at the first sight, and adding values to the experiences and drinks. Their ingredient is high quality, if you had it, you will know it. :) highly recommended!

Yelp
White peach oolong with tiramisu cheese foam and boba-5/5 This is a order and go kind of boba spot--no seating area. It's nice for the area to just grab and then walk around, but if you're looking for a place to study I would try somewhere else. Overall the drinks are good and taste more authentic compared to boba chains!

Yelp
I never get to try out the locations in Orange County because of the long lines and lack of mobile order options, but decided to take my chances here in San Diego! The first day we drove by was a Sunday and the line was out the door so we went somewhere else. I tried again on a Monday afternoon and there was zero line!! So I definitely recommend coming on a weekday! The menu is pretty but difficult to read so I recommend looking online to plan ahead what you want to get. I love peach drinks so I had to try their seasonal Peach Cloud which has a white peach oolong tea and cheese foam. It was so refreshing! The color seemed lighter than the photos but the flavor was all there. I also ordered a Strawberry Yakult for my kids since it's non-caffeinated and it was really good! Definitely a great option if you don't want caffeine. Enjoyed the quality of the drinks but I wish it did have more ice so the drinks were colder longer. I didn't make any adjustments so the regular ice level is still pretty light. But it's good if you like to save your drinks for later!

Yelp
Loved loved loved loved omomo!!! Never tried this placed but my family said they been trying to coke and it's always packed. So finally it was empty. I can see the hype. It's so clean and fast service. The cashier girl was so sweet. Our drinks were made so fast. I really enjoyed this spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Little bit of a wait (maybe 20 min) but I'd definitely recommend this place. Moreso for specialty drinks versus actual boba. Friend got the Omomo matcha and that one was really good.

Yelp
I finally got to try the Itchy Peachy! It was so so good and worth the year-long anticipation. The cashier I had was so sweet and wonderful. However, when I was waiting in line, there was a worker who went to the door and closed the door behind me with an attitude. There were literally guests waiting in line and she just shut the door instead of instructing of them to go inside to preserve the AC. Will come back for the drink regardless :)
google avatar

Charnie D.

Yelp
The only wait is just to order the drinks but they make their drinks fast! I always get the Matcha Omomo and it always hit the spot. This is my first time at the San Diego location and I'm glad the quality and customer service is the same as the Chino Hill one.
google avatar

Yelp
I really like this boba spot. I'm obsessed with their Itchy Peachy drink, it's a blended peach drink with cheese foam. It's not too sweet and has a slight saltiness from the cheese foam that pulls everything together perfectly. I've also tried their matcha drink and mango cortado, and they were amazing. I've raved about this place so much that I've brought multiple friend groups here, and I swear they all love it. Just pick a drink by checking out everyone's photos on Yelp, it'll help you decide, haha. And if your drink doesn't turn out the way it looks in the photos? Ask them to remake it! I had a friend whose drink didn't look like mine, even though we ordered the same thing.

Yelp
A new Omomo out in SD area! I've been to the other locations before, but I saw that this location had just opened so I thought I'd give it a try on our drive back from SD. We got the Oreo Brûlée Green Milk Tea and Omomo Matcha. Both are great and more of a dessert-y drink so definitely on the sweeter side, so I'd recommend to go down on the sugar level. But both drinks are delicious! This shop is more of a grab and go as there's no seating or tables. It's located in a busy plaza with other food and dessert places, so parking was a little difficult. We waited for about 30 minutes as there was a long-ish line when we got there. But once we ordered, our drinks came out quickly! The menu is printed on a mirror, which made it a little hard to read. Overall, great drinks and glad they are expanding and now have a location more towards SD!

Yelp
We tried this place on our visit to San Diego and were blown away by their drinks' unique taste and quality! The matcha drink was well-balanced and rich in taste. The fruit tornado mango blew us away. It was fresh, tasty, and not too sweet. It was one of the finest boba in San Diego. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
The omomo in irvine was my go to boba shop for awhile, so i had to try the one that opened up in San Diego. I love the mango tornado so I got that, but I was bummed the cheese foam wasn't mixed in with the mango slush very well. It looks like a scoop of cheese foam at the bottom and then they threw the mango slush right on top. The one in irvine mixes the cheese foam and mango slush so you get an even sip every time instead of here where it's a huge sip of cheese foam before getting the mango slush. The place is really small, nowhere to sit, but the workers are nice and the inside is super aesthetic and cute. i love their lighting setup.
google avatar

Noriel O.

Yelp
I've tried Omomo when I visited Irvine awhile back and they have really good drinks. I'm glad there's on in San Diego but it's still a bit far from me. On our way up to LA and decided to check it out. There was a short line out the door when we passed by but when we got there the line had grew. We waited about 30 mins to order and like 15 mins for our drinks. Be prepared to wait a lot. We ordered the Oreo Brûlée green milk tea & the Matcha Cortado with tiramisu foam. They were both so good. My matcha cortado tasted very fresh & creamy. The tiramisu foam was a great addition to it. The Oreo one was more of my husband's flavor and he loved it. The place is small but I do love the decor especially the hanging light fixture. It can get tight in the there and it can be confusing as who is waiting for drinks and ordering. Maybe adding more of the retractable belts to form a more distinct line would help. Just a suggestion since it seems like there's always a line. I would suggest going on a weekday if you can.
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday 20 minutes after opening and was able to order right away. Service is quick and the staff are very friendly. I had pretty expectations coming here for the first time and overall, I thought the Omomo matcha was pretty good. It is definitely a little pricey and definitely wouldn't wait in a huge line for this. I saw some people like the fruit drinks more, so I'll give those a try next time!
google avatar

Yelp
If you're on the hunt for a top-notch boba shop in San Diego, OMOMO is the place to go. My husband and I stopped by OMOMO after a delightful day in Del Mar since I was in the mood for something sweet and refreshing. OMOMO had been on my must-try list for a while, so it was the perfect choice. The shop itself is cute and modern, with a friendly staff that made us feel welcome. We ordered the OMOMO Matcha, a signature blended matcha frappe paired with a caramel brûlée cup and added cheese foam, along with the Taro Paste fresh milk with added cheese foam too. Both drinks were delicious, though we felt the Taro Paste could have had a stronger taro flavor. Overall, it took about 15-20 minutes to get our drinks on a busy afternoon. We're looking forward to visiting OMOMO again to try more of their menu
google avatar

Yelp
Busy busy place. I don't typically wait in lines but was visiting with a friend. Not your typical boba shop, the selections are endless. I had the strawberry tea , iced, with fresh muddled strawberries at the bottom. I forgot to shake it and only had 30% sweetness. I needed to add more sweetness to my drink. Cool shop, would like to be back , with more knowledge of their offerings.
google avatar

Miranda T.

Yelp
Omomo has finally made its way to Del Mar! This was a great spot to stop at on our way home! As usual, OMOMO did have a line, so just expect to wait. Once you order, the drinks came out quickly. We waited a total of about 30 minutes on a Sunday evening. The ambiance is busy as it is in the corner of the plaza, but there is plenty of parking due to being in a plaza. Overall, great to have another location for Omomo!
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
We were headed back from eating lunch at the Melt and saw the line here, so of course, as any boba lover, I had to get in that line, it must be good!! Yes so I waited in the line for about 20 minutes. I saw 15 drinks maximum... damn, people really like this place? I judge new boba places by their original milk tea and the freshness of the boba. I got the Black Jade Milk tea with cheese foam and added honey boba. My husband got the white peach oolong with cheese foam and boba, both 50% sugar. My milk tea boba had great flavors and the cheese foam was delicious BUT the boba was stale and hard as f*ck. WTF?! I waited in line for mediocre boba? Honestly yes the tea was good but wasn't mind blowing. But can't even make a good boba??? My husband white peach was good but had minimal ice, so it was warm. We asked for full ice too. I don't know, ITS ALL HYPE!! I've been to SOOO many boba places and this was not at all great. But I'm willing to try again, maybe I'll get their fresh fruit smoothies, looks like everyone is getting it and skip the actual boba topping.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
I always get the strawberry green tea with lychee jelly at boba shops. It was pretty good, but it didn't stand out for me. The line wasn't too long when we went and the drinks came out pretty quick. I'm glad I tried it.
google avatar

Yelp
Omomo in the Del Mar Highlands Shopping center brings the popular tea shoppe which first got its start in Chino Hills. This tea shoppe came highly recommended from my good friend who would drive to LA area just for this tea. After she told me this, I just had to see why she would drive 2 hours north just for tea. And I trust her reviews as she consumes an ungodly amount of boba and milk tea. When I arrived on a saturday afternoon the line wasn't too bad but one can tell that this place is popular. Their menu can be found on a glass mirror or scannable by phone. I like how they Omomo denotes their popular drinks for those who are new to their menu. On my first visit I went with the UJI Green Milk Tea, no boba and full strength sugar and ice. It was full of flavor, creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. On my second visit I ordered the Strawberry Tornado with no cheese foam at full strength. This has to be my favorite as they use fresh strawberries cut up finely to fit through the straw. Love this added touch of using fresh fruit and the sweetner they use is liquid cane sugar. Highly recommend this tea forward shop as the quality is superb. With the popularity rising you might encounter a line but they are efficient with a busy staff crafting drinks. Parking can be easily found in this large strip mall.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has completely ruined Starbucks for me. I don't know what I'm gonna do for matcha when I get back home to Chicago. There were 2 people in front of us when we first got there but by the time we ordered the line extended out of the door. The inside was very modern, clean and up to par. Not at all messy. I enjoyed the Omomo Matcha with 30% sweetness and it was SO DELICIOUS! I will be getting another one before I leave town.
google avatar

Mona A.

Yelp
This place is packed! Be prepared for a 30-minute wait unless you order in advance for pickup. But after trying their boba, it's easy to see why it's so popular. We had the Oreo crème brûlée with matcha and another with house milk tea--both were absolutely delicious. The interior is super cute, with photo-worthy casual vibes that make the wait worthwhile. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and craving boba.
google avatar

Brianna L.

Yelp
there are new seasonal drinks and they're all peach flavored!! itchy peach (5/5) - this is such a good summer drink. it's super fresh and has real blended peach. the peach slush goes perfectly with the cheese foam that's all around the cup. would highly recommend peach cloud (3/5) - it's okay, but nothing special. it's a peach tea with a bit of cheese foam, but needs more cheese foam.
google avatar

Sabi M.

Yelp
I hate saying this 'cause it'll only increase the line, which has been soooo long since my visit that I haven't been able to return. Been back at least 6 times now on various days and times, to no avail, the line is super long. I'd order ahead and pick up but it's not a service they offer, currently. I'm hoping it'll change. As for the drinks, picked up 6 at one time and every one of them was as ordered -proper various sugar levels as chosen. I don't usually like boba tapioca balls since they're the wrong consistency (too hard without chew) after being spoiled visiting Taiwan But THESE WERE PERFECT!!!! It rivals the best boba shops in Taiwan (therefore the extremely long lines).

Yelp
UNLOCKING NEW BOBA LEVEL (4.8 stars) - DRINK: yum - PRICE: pricier than I'd like or want - SERVICE: quick (don't take pictures of them!) - AMBIANCE: modern feels. Grab and go kind of spot. Honestly, I never ever heard of OMOMO before until I searched 'boba' yet everyone else in SoCal knows of its reputation. Don't come here expecting the typical boba because it's NOT that kind of place. Their menu consists of different series ex: Creamomo, Fruit Tea, Specials, and Seasonal/Momochi series) :: ORDER :: There are different "series" of drinks. Series were easy to follow except thr Creamomo section of the menu lists the type/name of teas. That's great and all but no description of flavor so if you are unfamiliar with that tea, better google while waiting in line. As much as I wanted to try a Creamomo series... I would have been blindly ordering so I played it super safe and went for a Seasonal drink from the Momochi series. TARO TARO WITH MOCHI + TIRAMISU FOAM - Its from the Seasonal menu/Momochi Series. In addition I added the TIraMisu foam because I never had that before. The drink was layered (Mochi cream at the bottom, taro taro in the middle, tiramisu foam on top) and flavor came in chronically logical order from bottom to top. The Mochi Cream was interesting, the texture was similar to melted marshmallows; soft and gooey. The Taro Taro was more of a blended shake consistency and was very light in taro flavor. The TiraMisu foam was foaming and reminded me of a melted down tiramisa flavored dessert/whip cream consistency. It was as if I was drinking a tiramisu through my boba straw. This drink was super filling, I had to unbutton my pants to finish it (oh come on... you know you do that too when you are unexpectedly start muffin-topping). This was more of a shake than anything else. HIGHLY RECOMMEND JABA APPROVED. Coming back to try many other drinks. Until the next review...

Yelp
This has quickly become my favorite milk tea spot in San Diego. When they first opened, I was bewildered by how many people were lining up outside. After trying it myself, I understand the hype. The quality of the tea and ingredients are unmatched. My top two favorite drinks are the Omomo Matcha and the Black Jade Milk Tea. The matcha flavor comes through nicely but isn't overwhelming. Paired with the matcha brulee cream, it's the perfect blended treat for matcha lovers. The Black Jade Milk Tea had the perfect balance of milk and tea. The drinks as well as the inside of the store are very aesthetically pleasing. You can tell they take their craft seriously here. The line is almost always long, but the staff is friendly and efficient. It's definitely worth the wait. I hope they open a second San Diego location that is more central, like Mission Valley or even Kearny Mesa.

Yelp
Boba shops are a dime a dozen in Southern California, so it is quite the feat when you find a boba shop that is different from the rest. That being said, I cannot describe how much I love the drinks at Omomo. The drinks are so flavorful, and there are always so many great flavors to choose from. During my most recent visit, we got the Camo Thai and Oreo Brulee Green Tea with boba. Both drinks exceeded my expectations. The Oreo Brulee Green Tea was a bit more creamy and had sprinkles of oreo throughout the drink. The Camo Thai tea had more of a watery consistency, but it did not at all taste watered down! It just felt lighter in comparison to the Oreo Brulee. It also tasted a bit like Thai tea with a hint of coffee. Needless to say, it was great. Of the two drinks, the Oreo Brulee was definitely sweeter, but Omomo does an excellent job at ensuring the drinks are tasty without being too over the top with the flavoring or sweetness. Although the drinks are a bit on the pricier side, I do believe that you get your money's worth at Omomo. It is well worth it to spend a few extra dollars here than buy mediocre or sub-par boba elsewhere. Sometimes there is a small line, but it tends to move quickly! It is nothing compared to the lines in Irvine. Beware though, there is no seating available.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the Omomo Matcha with boba and it was really good, a little bit on the sweet side, but it was still a great drink for the hot San Diego Weather. Service was fast and the environment of the place was really aesthetically pleasing.

Yelp
Can't go wrong! One of my favorite boba shops of all time. The best selection and a good variety on the menu. Service is nice and they make drinks very efficiently! On a Saturday night, we waited maybe 10 minutes in line and our drinks were ready in 5 minutes. I was really impressed! My drink recommendations: + Omomo Matcha + Black Jade Milk Tea + Itchy Peachy + Watermelon Green Tea + Gyukoro Milk Tea
google avatar

Mei T.

Yelp
This has been our go-to boba place ever since we discovered it a few months ago. My boyfriend and I have been trying to be good, otherwise we would be here every week, or even every day! Out of all the boba shops we've frequented, this is by far our absolute favorite! There's no comparison to OMOMO! We've tried the following: Omomo matcha Taro paste fresh milk Crème brûlée green milk tea Camo thai Matcha cortada The omomo matcha and taro paste fresh milk are our top 2 favorites and we find ourselves always coming back to get this combo! They make the taro paste with real taro, not the artificial powder like other places. Likewise, their matcha is real matcha, not matcha flavored powder like a lot of the other boba shops. You can taste the difference! Their honey bobas are really soft too and really addicting! Every single time we've been here, the lines have always been super long. It's totally worth the wait though! This boba shop is take out only. There are no tables or counters. The menu is on a large circular glass, so it's a bit hard to read.
google avatar

Trina P.

Yelp
My jaw dropped when I pulled up to OMOMO and saw the line. However, the reviews are right, stating the line moves very fast. They have an extensive menu! I personally enjoyed the camo thai and matcha with boba. I would pass on the strawberry tornado. The restaurant is small and has no seating. You take it to go and enjoy around the plaza or in your car.

Yelp
CARD ONLY-- by the way. It's way too loud in here, my voice gets drowned out and so does the worker at the front. I have zero clue what she said and asked her to repeat what she said 4 times. But she couldn't hear me either. I almost just said forget it and left. I ordered the strawberry green tea with lychee jelly. 100 sweet and regular ice. It didn't taste sweetened, it was actually quite sour and really strong on the green tea flavor. Maybe it's not strawberry season? The strawberry wasn't very tasty. It was a bit difficult to get the lychee jelly up the straw. This drink was not for me. (Didn't look anything like the photo on the website). The system is nicely organized so the inside doesn't get too crowded. Price is good as well.

Yelp
We used to drive 2hrs roundtrip from San Diego to Irvine to get our favorite Omomo drinks. Then we waited for more than 2 years for the Highlands store to open. Quality is consistent with the original Irvine and Chino Hills stores. Our favorites are Mango Tornado, Matcha and Itchy Peachy. We customize to 80% sugar and Black & White boba. Their drinks taste extremely flavorful and creamy, bobas are tasty with brown sugar and perfect chew. Tip: they open at 12pm now, try to get there before 3pm to avoid the long lines. Weekends are busy.

Yelp
Omomo never misses!! So happy they opened one in San Diego :) Highly recommend to anyone who's interested in quality drinks or just the hype. My go-to drinks: Uji Green Milk Tea ($5.25) and the Strawberry Tornado if I'm feeling a more fruity drink for the day. Full sweet for both. You can expect a short line on most days, and a longer one on weekends. If you sign up with your phone number, you can get a free drink after purchasing 10.

Yelp
All though lines are long, it moved very quickly. Service was very pleasant and drinks were really good! It's basically order, pick up and leave. No seating but inside was well lite and nice. Kudos to management on being well staffed with nice team members.

Yelp
I have gone where with friends for a few times now and it is definitely a go to spot. The line is usually long so there is a bit of a wait. I really enjoy their blended matcha drinks. The location is small and there is no seating.

Yelp
Rating: 9/10 Very good boba and some of the best I've ever had from here. OMOMO has locations in Irvine and Chino Hills too, both of which I have been to. Irvine location has the best drinks and boba in my opinion but of course, any of the locations have delicious drinks. I've been multiple times here already since their opening, and it's been good every time. Boba is always not too hard and a good chewiness. When it is slightly soft, it tastes like absolute heaven. Favorite drinks here on repeat for me are the Uji Matcha Milk Tea with Boba. Bf loves the Matcha Milk with boba as well. I recently tried their seasonal item, the Sticky Mouth. It's basically a drinkable mochi on the bottom with a dark Jade Black tea. I thought it was pretty good but I wouldn't order again. Service is always quick and fantastic, but lines can pile up during the weekends and peak hours. Later in the night, it's not too busy. Very cute decor and vibes, no where to sit inside, so get your boba and enjoy it outdoors :) Highly recommend, one of my bf's and i's favorite boba place (and we drink and frequency new boba places very very often)!

Yelp
I finally got a chance to try Omomo the other day! The first time I tried to try them, they were closed since it was Wednesday! I came in on MLK Day around 1pm to which there was a line to order. It took us about 30 minutes of standing in line in order to place our order. Luckily, it wasn't a hot day outside but I was surprised that there still was a line for this boba shop since they opened about 6 months back. I ordered the Oreo Brulee Green Milk Tea and my best friend ordered the Camo Thai (no more Itchy Peach ) both with Black & White Boba. Our drinks came out within like 10 minutes of waiting. We both enjoyed the taste of our drinks although I didn't really care for the agar boba. I'll probably skip it as that was my first time trying it. My best friend loved the agar boba over the regular one and said he would get that next time instead of the combo. Although there's no swatting in the actual shop, it's located in a high-end plaza with plenty of places to sit and enjoy your boba. We sat over by a fire pit in front of one of the neighboring restaurants. I'm excited to try other drinks on the Omomo menu!

Yelp
Consistently Delicious Boba with Top-Notch Service! I've tried many boba shops in San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles, and this place is arguably the best in San Diego! Every drink I've had here is consistently delicious. The boba is always perfectly chewy and never overcooked, which is a huge plus. I highly recommend their milk teas over their fruity drink options--they're absolutely divine! I also love how they seal their cups with aluminum foil. It makes it so easy to peel off and enjoy the rest of the drink. There was one instance when they ran out of sweetened boba and served unsweetened boba instead. However, their customer service was impeccable--they handled the situation courteously and made sure we left satisfied. The only downside is that they don't take online orders. They say it's to keep their drinks fresh, but I suspect it's also to generate some hype with the long lines outside. Minus one star for that inconvenience, but overall, it's a must-visit for any boba lover!

Yelp
OMOMO is probably the best boba shop currently in San Diego, as exhibited by the forever long lines out the door. Service was slow (the last time we went, the cashier was training) and there is no space for sit down. However, the boba speaks for itself and the drinks are fantastic. I enjoyed my omomo matcha at 30% sugar which was still sweet and very creamy, and my husband (who doesn't usually like boba) enjoyed his Ceylon milk tea with 0% sugar. Solid spot, though expect to wait at least 30 min for your drink, so not a quick in and out pick up.

Yelp
I tried the seasonal coco pine drink today and it's waaayy too sweet. My bf tried it first with 80% and it was almost unbearable so I tried it with 30% and it was still very sweet. The flavor itself is very good as I really like tropical and fruity drinks. The pineapple flavor is very strong, sweet, and ripe, and there's pineapple chunks at the bottom that isn't blended into the drink. If I got this again, I would try 0% sugar but not sure how that would effect the consistency of the drink. The whipped cream however is coconut flavor, and once fully mixed into the drink, was a lot less sweet and much better to drink! If you're getting this and like me who is a fan of asian desserts that aren't too sweet, I honestly would recommend just getting 0% or 30% sugar.

Yelp
So excited for Omomo to be in SD! No more needing to make the drive to OC. I showed up ten minutes before opening and there was already a line. I waited 30 minutes. Ceylon Milk Tea - solid Ceylon milk tea. It's creamy and bold while still tasting the tea. Strawberry Fruit Tornado - tasted more like a strawberry smoothie. It was still good but probably will skip next time.

Yelp
Now that Omomo is open in SD, my wallet is in danger! I recently dropped by this new location, having only ever had the one in Irvine. The shop is small but clean with a clean aesthetic. Service is polite and prompt. The line seemed pretty long but it was a bit of an illusion, due to the small store capacity. I ordered the matcha cortado and it came out looking gorgeous with a lovely ombré. The drink consists of gyokuro green tea and matcha. It was a pleasantly creamy and not too sweet. I think the gyokuro flavor was overshadowed a bit, but I could still tell that this was not a regular matcha milk tea. I liked my drink and I'm definitely planning to come back and try more of their menu! I think their teas are pretty strong for being a chain, and their four seasons is calling my name...

Yelp
Woo, the line y'all. That is the biggest downside. I almost left, but I specifically came to try this spot, so I endured. FYI, there is no call ahead or online ordering either. There are no tables indoors or outdoors, so it's definitely a to-go style shop. I ordered the white peach oolong fresh tea with brown sugar boba (light ice, 50% sweet). I was pleasantly surprised that it cost $5.15 including boba. A lot of San Diego shops are charging 6-8 bucks including a topping now. The drink was refreshing and the boba was soft and had the right amount of chewiness. I enjoyed my drink, but due to line I'm not sure how often I'll come here.

Yelp
Love their Irvine location, so decided to check out their newer one that's located in the Highlands. Did not disappoint! I personally enjoy their "tornado" drinks but this time I got their white peach oolong and my friend got the mango tornado both with boba. The peach was SO good! Usually peach isn't always the best choice, because at most places peach tastes super artificial. Whereas at OMOMO, it actually tastes like *tea*. The boba was also extremely fresh when we got our drinks. We came on a slower night so we got our drinks very quick, can't attest to the long lines that go out the door though. I also love the overall ambiance of the place itself, menu is displayed on a pretty mirror against the wall and it's just a simple clean appearance.

Yelp
This isn't my first experience at OMOMO, but it was my first here in San Diego! I went with my go-to which was their Ceylon Milk Tea, adjusting sugar to 50% and adding boba this time around. Even at 50%, I think that the drink was too sweet for me, though. For a Sunday afternoon, lines were out the door, though nowhere as outrageous as those in Irvine. The interior is quite small and features a menu on a mirror as you walk towards the cashier. The opposite side has simple shelves and an OMOMO sign as you wait to pick up your order. Overall, I think that the experience itself can be quite chaotic for an introvert if you want photos. There will almost always be someone in front of the mirror, and if you want a picture with their sign, there will likely be people waiting to pick up their drinks, too.

Yelp
Oh my bajeebies, I love this tea shop! I'm not going to pull apart every aspect of this tea shop, I just know that the 2 times I've had my Matcha drink it was delish!!! I don't even remember what it's called specifically. But what drew me to it in the first place is the beautiful design the contents make. Just holding this little piece of art is so fun. I brings yet another aspect of the whole experience. I wish I had more guts to try another flavor - I know I will someday - but it's hard to deviate at this point. Yes there's usually a line, but it's so worth it. I'll add to my review when I try another drink ... but I'm hooked now!
