I'm not from Chicago, just in town for a little business and I was taken to this place. The other place was crowded with a younger, wilder crowd... But the man behind the bar gave a wave as we passed by and I knew it was a good choice. Apparently it's a popular bar amongst emergency/healthcare workers. They have the places decorated with TVs in addition to flags/signs for the different departments; Nothing political, just good vibes and great atmosphere. The pours were good and the options were excellent, the screens were big and aplenty, and the place was clean. An amicable staff just put the cherry on top. You can really feel the sense of community in the bar and I loved it. I'll be back next time I'm in the area. Cheers! *Note: I didn't eat here, but I would.

Google
Such a great place. I'd consider this upscale at reasonable prices. They put slot of thought into the decorations and the menu. The staff is great, Mitch was behind the bar tonight. The food amazing. Came here for our 9 month anniversary and will definitely be back.

My first time at On The Rocks and I loved it. It's got sports on TVs but at a volume that allows conversations. The staff are very welcoming. The "smash burgers" are fabulous. The fries are the best I've had in years! So order the smashburger+fries and you'll be coming back again. I know I will.

The food, drinks, and service were great! Great atmosphere and overall great time here. Will be coming back 😁

We were very excited about going to this fairly new restaurant. We had a group of 6 and we were quite surprised that no one else was there. The lady that served us was very nice but she informed us the kitchen didn't open till 6 which was fine we had to wait for the rest of the party anyway. They had a limited menu and someone in our party wanted one of the signature drinks but the 2 choices she wanted weren't available so that was a little disappointing. The reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because the food was just okay. We ordered a smashburger, pot roast, a chicken salad and a burrito bowl. The burrito bowl came out almost 10 minutes after everyone else had gotten there food. It's just awkward when everyone is eating and someone is waiting for there food. The server did take off half the burrito bowl because it came out so much later than everyone else's, which was nice of her to do. Everyone was a little disappointed.

Serg is the most knowledgeable bourbon connoisseur I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. His patience and understanding of the cocktails was very different from what I have experienced at other bars in the area. He makes an excellent cocktail and is very friendly. Great experience. Jasmine was soo kind and friendly, she was very welcoming being it was my first visit. This place hit a home run with both of these bartenders.

Great cocktails and whiskey selection. Prices are phenomenal. Handmade margarita for $10. Glad to see something went in here and am looking forward to eating here. Can’t wait to get back here.

Food is very good, atmosphere is not too bright, dark, loud. All very comfortable. And they have free trivia on Thursday nights and I got a free beer :D

Yelp
If you're ever in Edison Park and craving something bold, fresh, and full of flavor, you have to check out Americanos. This spot is known for their Mexican-American street food with a modern twist and they definitely deliver. I started with their guacamole, and you can immediately tell it's homemade because it's creamy, zesty, and super fresh. Then I tried the flautas stuffed with chicken Tinga and the seasoning was on point. But the real surprise? A fried chicken torta. I don't see this often, and it was so good --crispy, juicy, and loaded with flavor. I also went for three different kinds of tacos, and honestly, each one held its own. Flavor-packed, well-balanced, and just the right amount of kick. And if you're in the mood for a drink? This month they're featuring a blueberry lemon margarita--it's refreshing, a little tart, and the perfect pairing for all that spice. Americanos is definitely a solid go-to when you want street food done right

Yelp
I've been to this place twice. The first time I went I felt like the food was good, but the place was extremely loud. The ambience really could use some sound absorption because a lot of people like to go and it's like a screaming Match to have a conversation... Add kids and good luck. Otherwise, I really liked the place, I liked the atmosphere and life was good. The second time around was about as disappointing as it could be. First off I wanna start with the compliment. The brussel sprout ensalada was absolutely fantastic. I thought that my girl really ordered right. The Brussel sprouts were warm and went well with the dressing. I loved it and wished that I had ordered it. Now we go to my order where I got three tacos: chicken, fish and pork. The pork was so dry that I literally could take a shred of it and hit the plate and it clinked. Something that something was wrong, one of the owners asked me if everything was OK. I told him I need to send this back and he was very gracious about it to be fair. He came back with the brisket taco on my request and it was so greasy that if I turned it even 15°, grease came pouring on my plate. Besides that, it wasn't even seasoned well. Then there was my fish taco which, I kid you not was a fish stick on a tortilla! No! I have never had a fish taco in my life like that. The whole meal was a bust. Now, to be fair, the waiter warned me that the brisket was a little greasy, and the pork was a little dry... But I had no idea the understatement that he was making. Also, I got one refill during the hour and a half. I was there and my girl loves to drink Diet Coke. I had to empty half of my Diet Coke twice just to keep her filled while the waiter was walking around and as we were walking out the door, I saw him pick up his phone and start to have a conversation with another 35 people still in the restaurant and him being the only waiter. The kindness of the owner and the Warning of the waiter and my previous experience as well as the brussels sprout salad is the reason why they got three stars. But if it was based on my dish alone, and it was my first experience? Absolutely not. That'd be one star. And the best part is... Three tacos, one brussels sprout salad and two Diet Coke's sent me back $54. Unbelievable. I might come back for that salad, but with the other food offerings in the area, you're better off going to Don Juan's up the road.

Yelp
Awful, waste of time and money Nachos without any toppings Tostada with steak, awful and a big waste of time Nothing I ate was good in any way The only thing that was decent was the one shot of tequila I had. Save your money and time, go elsewhere!!!!

Yelp
Well it was not what I had expected but that's not to say someone else may rate higher. The food was ok - we are picky so we asked for like sour cream and some spicy sauce in the side. Asked twice and never received. The Air conditioning was not on and it was our first day in the 80's so wasn't to uncomfortable just wasn't what we were looking for. They brought out grilled cheese when we asked for a kids cheese quesadilla . I have to say though that the kids grilled cheese looked good! The chicken taco was bland but the steak taco and the pork taco was great. My son had shrimp tacos and the shrimp looked good. The food itself was alright just wasn't comfortable after working outside all day - I will update as I am in the area A lot. Food is ok - give it a try!

Yelp
Stoped in for lunch and it was excellent. Started with guac and chips then had the crispy chicken torta. The chicken thigh was juicy and the breading was really crispy. Excellent flavors. Buddy had the burrito. Also tried the fish taco and the beer batter was perfect. Great flavors all around

Yelp
New Venue Alert! Americanos in Edison Park is a must visit destination. With inviting décor and a festive atmosphere, the Margaritas are wild and made with all natural ingredients. The presentation of the food was beautiful, we had the following: Ceviche and chips. Highly recommend. Arrachera Served with rice and beans, knob onion, and jalapeño. The skirt steak is fantastic! Tostadas We tried steak and pork; both were delicious. Tacos We had the fish (deep fry battered cod) (my favorite) steak (skirt steak) al pastor (marinated pork) Salad (Brussell Sprouts Ensalada) I loved this! It's big enough for 2 people and really delicious! This is a great place to have a drink and watch your favorite sporting event. Have a wonderful meal with the family, or just come in for some chips and salsa.Or ceviche.

Yelp
Just visited Americanos in Edison Park. The margaritas Fresca are a delicious treat with tropical flavors such as mango, pinaple, watermelon, strawberry, and more A good selection of beers 13 bottles 4 cans There is no on tap beer here. Yeah! Tequilas to satisfy any taste: Blanco, anejos, reposados, and premium, we counted 30 in all. A good selection of bourbon, and scotch and wine are also available. Ceviche Mild marinated shrimp with lime, a perfect companion for your Margarita!... Arrachera Served with delicious customary rice and beans, knob onion, and jalapeño. The skirt steak is the star, and it shines. We added shrimp (5.00 extra) but worth it; make sure to try a bite with a bit of each ingredient, i guarantee it won't be your last. Tostadas We tried steak and pork; both were delicious. A taco is just a taco unless you are at americanos; here they are an indulgence & a must try! Tacos We had the fish (deep fry battered cod) (my favorite) steak (skirt steak) al pastor (marinated pork) Salad (Brussell Sprouts Ensalada) It's big enough to share, but I doubt anyone will, not willingly at list. We added chicken and made for a full meal any time of the day. A few lovingly, but prominently displayed family pictures let you know this is a family restaurant, and the service is the same as a host welcoming you into their home. Yelp
Could have been better! I had high hopes for this place, but the food seemed inconsistent and ok. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Our appetizer came out lukewarm and there was some confusion on whether we needed tortillas. Not sure why they thought chips were acceptable since the queso fundito was pretty solid when it was dropped off at our table. My main dish was WAY too spicy which is heck of a thing to say by me. You know it has to be spicy if I'm comparing. My rice was cold. The service was good which pains me for writing this review , but I'm sadly not impressed. This is an unfortunate skip in Edison Park

Yelp
The tacos were tasty. The vibes are good. Friendly staff and tvs showing sports. The food wasn't very hot. Particularly the soup which was lukewarm warm. The drinks were good.

Yelp
It is a nice little casual spot. Meat in al pastor and brisket tacos were rather dry but skirt steak was nice.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night with a couple of my girlfriends. Very crowded but we didn't wait too long for a table. We started off with chips, salsa, and guacamole. The guacamole was good. We also ordered margaritas. They ordered the classic margaritas and I ordered the grilled pineapple margarita Fresca. They were all very weak. My girlfriends finished a whole pitcher without even feeling a buzz. They were tasty but not very much alcohol. For dinner I ordered the taco dinner. My tacos were carne asada, Al pastor, and shrimp. I opted for double rice instead of rice and beans. The carne asada was average. Al pastor had a nice kick to it and shrimp was good. The rice was not good at all, no taste to it. Overall I was disappointed especially for the price. I'd be willing to try again after a few months, maybe just working out some kinks as they open.

Ruby Q.

Yelp
I just hate myself when I write negative reviews for small new independent restaurants. That said, we were disappointed on several fronts. I thought maybe it was new opening kinks, but they have been up for 3 months or so. First off, I think it was the bartender's first night (I know everyone has a "first day at work", but he had to ask how to make the drinks). The drinks themselves tasted weak and the rim of the glass was oversalted with what looked like rock salt. They charge $3.50 for chips and salsa. Not a great first impression. The menu, as you might have guessed is mostly tacos, so...we each had taco dinners. The fish taco was good. The steak taco meat was COLD - like it sat around on a shelf and not fresh prepared. The Al Pastor taco was even worse - COLD and DRY. Brisket taco was good. Chicken taco was OK. The shrimp taco was not good. It may have triggered severe stomach distress a few hours after dinner, so that seals the deal. No need to return. Adios Americanos. They do have a free parking lot, so save the $5 metered street parking. There are so many good taco options in the neighborhood- namely Los Azares, Marias, TBK and Moms Old Fashioned. And if you are a cheapo, Taco Bell fits the bill.

Yelp
Food was very fresh. Soup tasted homemade, Cadillac margarita was on point and taco dinner was fresh and tasty. Will be back.

Yelp
My family and I went here on opening night. It was 615pm on a Tuesday and we were seated right away. It's a narrow, but long restaurant. High tops in the front with bar seats and low tops in the back. We sat in one of the low tops and menus were provided. There was a kids menu as well, which was nice. We started with drinks: I had the original margarita and my husband had one with Mezcal. I like that you can choose to have salt, Tajin, or sugar on the rim. We opted for the Tajin . The drinks earned their $12 price tag. It's Taco Tuesday so we had to get tacos. We both ordered the 3 taco dinner for 17. I had the first three tacos on their list: steak, brisket, and chicken. Don't expect plain lettuce and tomatoes in your tacos here! Think cilantro & pickled something making the tacos delicioso! It's their first night so I'll let the minor service hiccups pass this time. Just keep the drinks and food on point and we good! Welcome to the neighborhood, Americanos!

Yelp
The tacos were great (chicken, steak, brisket) and so was the Brussels sprout salad. Service was kind and the space is fresh and modern. Love the lighting.

Yelp
margaritas were good. service and food. nope hair in my food, replaced food. Mgr never acknowledged. Family of 4 auto 18% gratuity. When we got bill, nothing taken off for hair. I didn't ask for it but thought they would have offered. Also on credit card gratuity came up again like they were trying to pull a double gratuity. Never going back. Was looking forward to a good Mexican American Restaurant in our awesome Edison Park. Tom Mc

Yelp
I specifically asked for no cilantro on my appetizer and entree and both came with cilantro. When the queso fundido came out the manager gave it to the wrong table and then 5 minutes later he tried to then give it to us . When he did come back with a fresh appetizer he said to my friend no charge. When we got the check he did charge us for it and chips and salsa which we never received. We asked them to take it off . He took off the chips but refused to take the queso fundido off. The queso was cold and solid . Ick . My flauntas had cilantro thrown all over it in which I had to pick off . The service was pretty terrible. The bartender that originally took our order left early and the bartender after was very negligent.

Yelp
The pork belly was fantastic. The salsa is great. And the margaritas? Sheesh!!! A great local establishment.

Carrie W.

Yelp
Great service! Good margaritas and the Brussels sprout salad was out of this world. My daughter had the tostados and loved them and my husband said the al pastor tacos were his favorite.

Barb S.

Yelp
Tacos were really great! Margaritas were also quite good. We had guacamole and ceviche to start. Service was friendly and helpful. We'll definitely go again!

Mary M.

Yelp
The food was tasty and the service was surprisingly fast. The margaritas were a little on the expensive side, especially since there was so much ice (but everything seems to be expensive these days, so maybe that's normal). We really liked the food and will most likely return.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Casual spot, parking lot and really good tacos. Haven't tried the margaritas, but will be back. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Mary J.

Yelp
Food was ok... However they could not make the guacamole "made to order"... and they do not use chicken breast they use chicken thighs. Some people don't like dark meat they like white meat. The margarita was weak (hardly had any liquor in it... If any) and the service was subpar (The server seemed young, inexperienced and not attentive)

Sophie C.

Yelp
Service was incredible and the food was delicious! The pork belly taco was the best taco I've had in a while. Highly recommend the classic margarita as well! Cannot recommend enough!

Mike M.

Yelp
We stopped by Americanos about 8:00 on a quiet Sunday evening. Beach had two Tacos and split an order of Guacamole. All were very good. Service was good and ambiance was nice. We'll be back.

Deb W.

Yelp
Without realizing Americanos just opened the day before I picked up food to go last week, I stumbled upon this location while searching for some local good eats. I'm happy to report the food was excellent! To start, we had the Brussel spout salad, which was a perfect combo of seared & seasoned Brussel sprouts, avocado, fresh romaine, and pickled onions. My fiancé and I both had taco dinners with assortments of tacos - shrimp, brisket, chicken and elotes. All were scrumptious with super fresh ingredients and my fav for any authentic taco - onions and cilantro. The dinners came with beans and rice - super clean, non-oily and equally fresh and delicious! The owner is inspiring with his vision and I'm happy to see a more authentic (with an infusion twist) Mexican food establishment on the northwest side. Can't wait to go back to try the fresh squeezed juice margaritas!
