Savor traditional flavors in this charming Colonial-style spot, loved for its signature dishes like pork belly and crab curry, though be ready for a wait.

One Chun

"Merging her fashion design background with a love of food, owner Khun Prang has created a big hearted dining experience with a distinct vintage feel. The 19th century building sets the scene, as do antiquities from bygone days scattered about, while the food is authentically Phuket, comprising family recipes passed down over 3 generations. Shrimp paste dip served with vegetables delightfully starts the meal." - Michelin Inspector

We tried this from the recommendation from Michelin Bib Gourmand. We were there around 3pm and there was a queue. But wasn't too long of a wait and we got our table. We ordered mostly from their Signature and Recommended dishes, and honestly we over ordered but it was well worth it. I especially like the Steamed Pork Belly and Crab Meat with Yellow Curry, it paired so well with steamed rice. Overall a very good meal and we definitely will be back.

I don't understand all the high ratings this restaurant has received and was expecting more when I saw a number of "Michelin" recognition stickers in the window. The food was okay, but it won't stand out in my mind compared to other restaurants I tried during my Thailand vacation. The service was also just okay, with young wait staff that looked like they would rather be somewhere else. On the bright side, the prices are reasonable.

No wonder this restaurant has consistently been awarded the Bib Gourmand. Every dish is unique and delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. Their signature braised pork belly is exceptionally fragrant, tender, and pairs perfectly with rice. Highly recommended!

Food - nothing special. Ordered their signature dishes and pad-thai. In noodles we even got hair. Green curry is so spicy that you won't be able to taste anything after that. Drinks - ordered lemon smoothie and orange juice, on the market they are way better and so much cheaper. Service - 0 hospitality. Everyone is in a rush, they even rush you with the order. Atmosphere - very chaotic and crowded. We have been on the second floor and there were also companies of young people who were very loud, which worsened the experience. In general - very overestimated place, would not recommend. Old town has lot of better places.

Given its Michelin star, I had high expectations for a unique and exceptional dining experience at this restaurant. However, the reality fell short. First, the food was quite ordinary. There was nothing particularly outstanding or memorable about the flavors. For a Michelin-starred restaurant, I expected something special, but unfortunately, the dishes were just average. Second, the service did not meet the expected standard. The staff seemed indifferent and lacked warmth or professionalism. Despite the restaurant not being overly crowded, the wait time for the food was excessively long, which significantly diminished the experience. Lastly, the pricing felt unjustified. I understand that Michelin-starred restaurants often come with a high price tag, but given the mediocre food and lackluster service, it simply didn’t feel worth it. Overall, this was not a memorable experience, and I don’t see myself returning.

Avoid this place! It doesn’t deserve to be on the Michelin guide. First , they made you wait and after we were waiting for a good half an hour, they come and say that whoever doesn’t have a sit in the next 20 min, won’t be able to eat( I think they should tell you this before they write your name and make you wait). Second the prices of the full are far inflated for what you get. We ordered the pork belly and we barely ate(it was all fat, tiny portion for what you pay). We also ordered the signature dish (yellow curry with crab meat( full of shells and didn’t tasted good at all). It was such a disappointment for my date night with my husband. Don’t be carry away for the Michelin guide (I don’t even know how they got it. Once of the most expensive and awful dinner I’ve had in Thailand. Also, the table next to us got served their dessert (mango sticky rice) before (30 min before) they had their food. That again, is not a service you would expect from a Michelin guide restaurant.

The power of social media! This gem popped up on my Instagram feed, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Located just on the fringe of Phuket Old Town, it’s easy to reach, and the building itself is beautifully fitted out. As we visited on a weekend, we were unable to book in advance, but with plenty of seating and a quick turnover, the wait for a table was relatively short. Unfortunately, I was still recovering from food poisoning, so I wasn’t able to give the menu the ‘proper go’ it so richly deserved. We ordered the chef’s recommended crab curry with glass noodles, the beef satay, and fried rice cakes with peanut sauce. The crab arrived, and I managed a quick dip with a rice cake before realising my delicate constitution wasn’t quite ready for that level of spice. Almost as enjoyable, though, was watching my wife polish off the lot—tears in her eyes at times from the heat, yet utterly unable to stop. Between mouthfuls, she managed a few ‘I just can’t stop eating it—it’s just so good!’ High praise indeed! The beef satay was excellent and certainly didn’t disappoint, but I couldn’t help glancing enviously at the neighbouring tables, overflowing with incredible-looking and wonderfully fragrant dishes. Do believe the hype—this place is outstanding and absolutely worth a visit. The added bonus? The bill! Excellent value for money.

A must visit if you are in Phuket! It was the best food I ever ate in Thailand! Best Tom Yum, Crab Curry, Pad Thai and braised pork belly in one place ❤️ Yes the queue is long and the price is higher than other places but I guarantee that it is totally worth it! Just manage your timing so you come earlier or plan what you gonna do while waiting to make it fun. We were lucky that the staff allow us to come in as soon as we arrive since there is empty table. Thank you for such service! I will definitely come back to this "magical" place 🥰😘👍👍👍👍
