"Merging the owner's fashion design flair and passion for fine fare, One Chun offers a vintage-toned dining experience in a 19C building. Diners still enjoy the family recipes, which have been passed down the generations. Among the specialties is a spicy yet refreshing dish with boiled shrimp and shrimp paste, perfectly balancing the salty and sour notes. Be sure to try "Mu Hong" for its bold flavours and soft, tender pork belly." - Michelin Inspector

Probably the best authentic Thai meal we've had during our first week in Thailand. This restaurant is Michelin recognized since 2019-2025 in a row, and for a very good reason!! The staff was super kind and very professional, and the food was served very quickly although the restaurant was quite full (even though it wasn't peak hour). We came for a late lunch (around 4pm) so we didn't even have to wait for a table, which is great as they don't take reservations in advance at all. If you'd like to come eat here, I'd recommend avoiding peak hours, then you can walk in and be seated very quickly. We were very hungry so we ordered quite a lot of dishes, and every singly one of them was absolute heaven. From the salads section we ordered the pomelo salad, mango salad & papaya salad. All of them were refreshing & very spicy, but my favorite was the mango salad as it wasn't too spicy, yet full of flavor. For mains we ordered the yellow curry with crab meat & noodles which was so delicate & creamy, yet spicy just at the right level. It's on the recommended section for a good reason. We also tried the classic stir fried morning glory, which is always a dish the you can never go wrong with, as well as it balances the rest of the dishes that are usually quite spicy. The highlight of our lunch was by far the fried grill pork with chilli, pepper & garlic - it was the perfect balance of sweet & spicy with shawarma-like pork slices, and it was so good that we kept thinking of ordering another one at the end, although we were so full. From end to end the entire experience was 10/10, so if you're in the Phuket old town area, this is definitely a must-visit restaurant.

Came here for dinner, 3 of us spent about THB 1180 with bottled water. Food was really tasty, proper local Phuket style. Service was super fast, staff friendly, and the place has a nice old Chinese-Peranakan vibe. There’s a waiting area but better come before 6pm — saw a long line forming after that, especially on Sunday. Worth it if you want authentic local food

We arrived to a very busy restaurant but the staff were friendly and very accommodating and we were seated almost immediately. Highly recommend the chicken panang curry, pineapple fried rice and fried black pepper oyster mushrooms. It was authentic, delicious with just the right level of spiciness. Would definitely go back :)

There’s a reason this restaurant has earned a Michelin star — the food is truly exceptional. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with great care and attention to detail. We ordered the crab curry, fried rice, and prawns with chillies n garlic, and every single dish was outstanding. The crab was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, the curry had a rich and complex depth, the fried rice was fragrant and satisfying, and the prawns with garlic were absolutely delicious — tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The staff were polite, humble, and attentive, creating a relaxed yet refined dining experience. They took the time to explain the menu and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal. Make sure to bring cash, as this restaurant only accepts cash payments — a small but important detail to keep in mind. Also, don’t skip dessert! It was just as impressive as the mains — beautifully made and the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. The ambiance is cozy and elegant, making it ideal for both a special occasion or simply treating yourself to a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Deserves all the Michelin stars awarded. Very authentic and great tasting Thai cuisine. Comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. Clean toilet. Crowds will stream in by 6pm even on weekdays and fill up the restaurant. Recommended to go early as there is no reservations. Bring along cash as well as this is the only mode of payment for foreigners.

We had dinner at One Chun in Old Phuket Town and really enjoyed it. The place gets busy, so it’s worth going early to avoid a wait. Despite the crowd, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. The food came out fast and was full of flavour. It’s a great spot for local Thai dishes in a lively setting. Must have: The fish cakes. Fresh, perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Discovered this place through Google, it’s a Michelin recognised restaurant and the food does live up to the reputation. Do note that the waiting time is around 1 hour and you’ll need to be physically present while waiting. The restaurant is housed in a two storey building with an old-school, nostalgic vibe. Prices are on the higher side and portions are not very big but the quality stands out. We ordered the crab meat curry, which had a generous amount of crab, watery curry gravy and was not too spicy. It came with two small portions (mouthfuls) of rice noodles to enjoy with the curry. The stir fried broccoli was fresh and nicely cooked. The fried egg with pork was crispy but a bit oily. The braised pork belly was tender and flavourful. The star of the night was the deep fried fish, crispy, perfectly salted and delicious on its own, with a side of mango salad that added a fresh contrast. A good choice if you’re willing to wait!

One Chun Cafe serves up authentic Thai cuisine that’s both delicious and beautifully presented. Each dish bursts with bold, balanced flavors and shows real attention to detail. However, the dining experience is marred by slow service. Dishes don’t arrive all at once, making the meal feel disjointed — a letdown given the high expectations set by the food quality. Adding to the inconvenience, the restaurant only accepts cash. Fortunately, prices are reasonable, which softens the blow. Verdict: Incredible food and presentation, but be patient — and don’t forget to bring cash.
