One Chun Cafe & Restaurant

I had an amazing experience at One Chan in Phuket! The food felt authentic, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The atmosphere is cozy with a nice local vibe, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Every dish we tried was delicious, especially the curries and the crispy side bites — full of rich and balanced taste. It’s a great spot if you want something genuine and memorable, beyond the typical tourist food. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Walking aroubd old street already is beautiful, however getting to dine here made our day so much better. Looking at google reviews, we went to this place foe lunch. This place gets really busy during lunch hours. We went around 3 PM and had ro wait around 15 minutes for a table. However, the food was anazing especially most recommended braised pork. The ambience was really cosy along with the food. We didnt much enjot the cashew chicken but overall a must visit place. And yes it also has michellin star rating for the past 5 to 6 years. A good place to dine with good pricing as well. We spent around 900 bhat for two people without alcohol. We had braiswd pork, cashew chicken, fried mushrooms and steam rice.

The atmosphere here is great; many locals come here to eat. The decor is retro Thai style, and the service is warm and attentive. The dishes are quite refined; we ordered several recommended dishes. The yellow curry crab with rice noodles was surprisingly spicy—perfect for those who can't tolerate spice! The other dishes were just average, but overall, it's a pretty good restaurant in Phuket Town.

I had a wonderful time here. They only accept cash, so be sure to go to an atm prior to arriving. It's a very busy place. Noise levels can at times be quite loud, as there are many patrons. Staff are wonderful and very efficient. Once you enter you will be given a number and directed to stay in the waiting area until your number is called. It's an eclectic atmosphere with vintage decor (European & Asian). The food is AMAZING!! I got their signature Phuket style steamed pork belly. Each bite is jammed pack with flavour. I also ordered the panang curry chicken. Be forewarned it is spicy, yet also very rich and flavourful. The butterfly pea lemonade is delightful. I would definitely come back!

Probably the best authentic Thai meal we've had during our first week in Thailand. This restaurant is Michelin recognized since 2019-2025 in a row, and for a very good reason!! The staff was super kind and very professional, and the food was served very quickly although the restaurant was quite full (even though it wasn't peak hour). We came for a late lunch (around 4pm) so we didn't even have to wait for a table, which is great as they don't take reservations in advance at all. If you'd like to come eat here, I'd recommend avoiding peak hours, then you can walk in and be seated very quickly. We were very hungry so we ordered quite a lot of dishes, and every singly one of them was absolute heaven. From the salads section we ordered the pomelo salad, mango salad & papaya salad. All of them were refreshing & very spicy, but my favorite was the mango salad as it wasn't too spicy, yet full of flavor. For mains we ordered the yellow curry with crab meat & noodles which was so delicate & creamy, yet spicy just at the right level. It's on the recommended section for a good reason. We also tried the classic stir fried morning glory, which is always a dish the you can never go wrong with, as well as it balances the rest of the dishes that are usually quite spicy. The highlight of our lunch was by far the fried grill pork with chilli, pepper & garlic - it was the perfect balance of sweet & spicy with shawarma-like pork slices, and it was so good that we kept thinking of ordering another one at the end, although we were so full. From end to end the entire experience was 10/10, so if you're in the Phuket old town area, this is definitely a must-visit restaurant.

This restaurant definitely lived up to the expectations! We loved the food- it was super super delicious. Be prepared to wait here- 20minutes to 45 minutes is the usual wait time here. We went here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner and both times we had to wait for about 30-40 mins. We loved the pad Thai, the fried fish, mango smoothie, green coconut curry chicken and mango with sticky rice. The restaurant is well maintained, looks quite old and has a rustic feel to it. The restaurant accepts only cash so be prepared for that.

I’ve been to Phuket Old Town three times over the past few years, and this is one restaurant I always come back to. It’s extremely famous for its crab dishes, especially the yellow crab curry, and for good reason — the food is absolutely amazing and truly lives up to the hype. That said, be prepared to wait. Even when we visited during the daytime around 3:00 PM, we still had to wait about 40 minutes in the waiting area before getting a table. The whole process of arriving, waiting, and being seated can feel a bit chaotic, but once the food arrives, it’s completely worth it. One important thing to note: this is a cash-only place, so plan ahead. If you’re a crab lover, this spot is a must-visit in Phuket Old Town — just bring patience (and cash). 🦀✨

One Chun Cafe: A Michelin Bib Gourmand That Demands a Second Visit While Mindy and I typically seek out new experiences for every meal, every once in a while there's a place we go to twice. For us on this trip, this was that restaurant. We always pay attention when the Michelin Guide reviews a city, and One Chun was recognized with Bib Gourmand—aligning with our preference for outstanding food and value. The First Impression: The Iced Tea was strong and made with real, good Thai tea—as opposed to the supermarket Lipton we encountered elsewhere. The milk tea was a clear indicator of the quality to come. Oh yeah, in the states we call their milk tea “Thai Iced Tea” which usually is understood in the US to make with condensed milk. In Thailand you have to order “Milk Tea” as asking for just Thai Iced tea will come sans milk. The Dishes That Kept Us Coming Back: -Morning Glory: We shared and while Mindy prefers her veggies softer I thought it was perfect—nice and crisp. -Tamarind Shrimp: Mindy loved the tamarind shrimp; the sauce was flavorful and hit the ideal balance of sweet without being cloying, and the shrimp were perfectly tender. -Fried Pork with Chili and Garlic: Delicious, with the right amount of spice- flavor without excessive heat. -Chicken Panang Curry: I love a good curry and was impressed again by the perfect amount of chili. -Fried Fish with Lemongrass and Tamarind: Mindy’s choice was another "yum" moment. One Chun manages to deliver consistent, flavorful Thai cuisine, justifying its Bib Gourmand status and earning a repeat visit on our itinerary next time we return to Phuket.
