One Culver

A relatively new, gorgeous office building home to eateries, an upscale gym, and the well known WeWork co-working space

Huge open workspace on first floor. Grab matcha, chicken nearby, snag a table, pop open a laptop. Quiet and echo-y, so avoid taking calls. Also might be staff loitering. Tables scattered around the floor. Wood steps for sitting and working. Not many people here when I came. There is a vending machine that sells, um, salads? And stuff. Very odd. Looks pricey. Free to enter and stay, no card required. Just walk inside. There is free WiFi.

Great venue for a fashion show, which I attended Lumiere - however, the acoustic isn't great. There is too much echo when one speaks in the microphone.

On Wednesday, September 17th, an unsecured, improperly set up umbrella on the patio at One Culver fell on my father, injuring him. After alerting the restaurant, we were told that the building maintains the patios. I talked to security, who said they would fill out an incident report. The security officer gave me his phone number, and texted me. He let me know he would send me the incident report number for further tracking. Furthermore, speaking to restaurant owners in the building, it appears that his sort of incident where improperly maintained and stored patio equipment has failed, resulting in injuries to customers. In passing, the security officer mentioned that they knew a windstorm was coming through the area -- if that is the case, why has maintenance stored the umbrellas in the building? Barring injury to customers, the way this umbrella flew it is entirely reasonable it could have flown into the road and hit a car. I have not been provided an incident number for this incident, nor has anyone reached out to contact me to confirm if my father was alright after his trip to the doctors from the incident. All said, it paints a picture of a lax view of on safety and maintenance.

The building is beautiful! A great place to work remote while being around people. The community team is great! Love the happy hours and other amenities as well as so many places for lunch in walking distance!

People come here for breakfast, co-working space and even medical care. A shout out to Dr. Tania at One Medical. She provides good care and is easy to talk to.

Great space to get some work done. The area is clean, spacious with multiple spaces to choose from (high stools, low lounge chairs, the stairs). The abundance of greenery throughout the area adds a refreshing and calming touch, making it an even more enjoyable place to focus and unwind. Conveniently, there's a local coffee shop and restroom around the corner. One down side is there are no public Wi-Fi to join, but I had no problem using my hotspot.

This space is legit. They have a cafeteria and coffee shop and inside is a huge workspace with outlets. You can just go in I think. Well I did. I know what I'm doing. But it's a huge office space that has a main floor too. I'm gonna use this spot to bring clients to and just say we can meet downstairs cuz my office is too stuffy. Mhm.

Was lucky enough to get a last-minute invite here at One Culver to LA Fashion Week-this particular event being produced by the young production guru Laurent Meler and his company Lumiere). Meler did a stunning job of taking advantage of this unique space and as a result the event itself was magnificent and flawless. (Pictured is the young guru Mr. Meler himself). His company: Lumiere, puts on fashion shows here in the states as well as in Hong Kong and Dubai. That said, this review is meant to shine a light on the facility itself-One Culver. For those in the know who have called Culver City home for the last 20-25 plus years, most could tell you one thing...and that was that no one cared to visit or even remotely ponder what in the heck was going on at this location. This building had a serious identity crisis before someone finally realized you could put on great events (fashion or otherwise) within its vast interior. Shaped somewhat like a step pyramid from the outside and built mere feet from Sony Studios, it never really had its own identity. That is to say, it was known as the building with a really cool exterior, but a zero in terms of what it was actually being used for. Those days finally appear to be over. If the inside is used for events such as the recent Fashion Week, it would justify the buildings existence now more than ever. Numerous offices, production companies, half decent restaurants- you name it have all called this place home at one point or another. Building management hit a home run by greenlighting this recent production. As a result, this facility is now on the map in the Heart of Screenland, Culver City. Props to the mayor and the city (who were sponsors of the event) to help shed a light on this incredible building and its potential. The future is bright for One Culver-provided it continues to utilize its interior for exactly what it was meant for: entertainment!

First rate public access work space. Free WiFi, secure and safe with security presence. Clean and relatively quiet. Underground parking spaces. Expensive.

I recently spent some time in the One Culver co-working space, and found it to be a very productive and positive environment to get some work done! Would recommend grabbing your laptop and knocking out some emails or studying here! Pros: - Quiet: The space is very quiet, folks speak in hushed tones-- you can definitely focus a concentrate here, it is not a place for louder conversations. - Beautiful space: The space is so bright-- the ceiling is almost fully glass paneling, letting in light and making for a very tranquil and almost outdoor-like environment. There are various tables a booths and seating arrangements to accommodate groups of different sizes and they are well spaced to ensure privacy and comfort. - Lots of outlets: Critical for any working environment-- there are definitely plenty of outlets, which I great to see as well! - Security present: There is an onsite security guard, who helps keep the peace and who I friendly but ensures that everyone is quiet and leaving when things shut down. - Food nearby: So many good food spots nearby-- a Homestate, a gget bakery, and a Kismet Rotisserie-- all within a 3 minute walk, so that you can have coffee or a lunch while you work. Food is allowed in the space. Cons: - Lack of public or private wifi to log into onsite. Perhaps this was here and I missed it, but either way, not a super clear network that you can easily join, which surprised me. I used my hotspot, which worked well and was no big issue!

I used to meet with clients regularly in the atrium but now it's too loud. Cleaning staff blast music and Homestate employees play videos from their phone speakers.
