One Down Dog | Yoga + Fitness Studio

I love this studio! I have been a member for almost a year and been meaning to write this review. The variety of classes is the best of any studio I’ve been to. From intense flow to chill classes (try the Somatic yoga!!) there is truly something for whatever I need each day. The teachers are amazing. Beautiful studio with couches to hang out and drink the complimentary tea after class. It’s such a nice place to go!

I absolutely love One Down Dog! Their yoga classes are energizing and grounding, and Dylan’s sound baths are pure magic - such a great reset for the mind and body. On top of that, the front desk staff is the best: always warm, welcoming, and on top of everything. Every visit feels like a treat. Highly recommend!

Love love love them. I was a beginner two years ago - first time doing yoga. This place is awesome, clean, and there is simply and importantly a sense of community you don't get out there. Everybody is super friendly and again, it is all about a lovely healthy environment. My favorite teachers are Molly, Caitlin, Courtney and Adam. Haven't tried other teachers that often but love them all. Do yourself a favor and stop by! You will not want to leave

Not coming back. I got the class pass for 79 dollars for 21 days. I kept having issues with the app with canceling classes one day and still get charged the $20 when I canceled it the day before and I went to look on the app and it showed I was still on there and then charged me $20 . Minus the app and payment situations. The classes are just fine .

This is my favorite yoga studio in LA. Each location is beautiful and clean and makes you feel so welcome; they even have tea and a communal library at the East Hollywood location! Everyone is incredibly nice and cool, and the variety of classes that they offer is unbeatable. I've tried basically all of them--FIT, Flow, Slow Flow, Yin, Yoga Nidra. They have an amazing intro offer, too--I've been doing it and it's made me absolutely fall in love with yoga. Thank you to all the teachers, especially Natalie, Monica, Sarah, and Elisa!

I've been attending classes at this studio for a few months now and I have to say it's one of my favorites. A large, naturally lit studio, no mirrors, good selection of classes every day and great teachers. Everything feels very modern and clean. I love Natalie and Nate's classes. Parking available above Ross. There is a sketchy stairwell from the parking lot to the sidewalk that I recommend avoiding, and instead take the Ross stairwell.

I look forward to taking classes here when I'm in town. The space is lovely, and the flow classes offer a nice variety of poses and options. I always leave feeling nicely rinsed and refreshed. The instructors are super cool as well, and give great verbal instructions, and hands-on adjustments if you want them.

They'll pressure you to book direct through email/text and in person instead of ClassPass to the point where it's annoying and they have an attitude about it. If you don't want ClassPass guests, get off the platform! I booked through ClassPass and they changed me to "pending" after booking and when I canceled because they wouldn't let me in I got charged a late fee for a reservation they set to "pending" for ClassPass users. While there, the desk attendant said, "well you can pay $35 for the class now and get in now or wait for a later class if you wanna do ClassPass." I already paid via ClassPass a-hole. This is the same day I was going to buy a 30 day pass directly through them and they talked themselves out of money by being greedy a-holes. And some of the instructors are micro-aggressive snobs. I live across the street but willingly drive to another studio now where I bought/booked a multi month unlimited pass DIRECT so that I don't have to deal with the crap they do here at ODD Hollywood. And guess what....the other studio doesn't give me crap about booking as a ClassPass member when I feel like it.

I came to One Down Dog with high hopes, but unfortunately had two very troubling experiences with one of the teachers, Dylan, that left me questioning the studio's values. In my first class, I extended some transitions in my vinyasa (such as moving from eka pada to chin stand, or from knee-to-elbow into eka pada). With over 16 years of practice, I know how to listen to my body and safely deepen my practice. Dylan singled me out and told me not to do this. When I thanked him at the end of class, he rolled his eyes and looked away, not responding to my thanks. I brushed it off, assuming he might have been having a bad day. On my second visit, I overheard him scolding a student for over five minutes, telling them they were "a distraction," that they "needed to follow the sequence," and that "if they wanted to do their own thing, they should practice at home." As both a long-time practitioner and a teacher myself, I was disturbed to see a student treated this way. Yoga is meant to be a safe space for self-study, compassion, and inner connection- not a place where students feel shamed or bullied. What made this worse was that when I approached the studio directly to share my concerns, I felt brushed aside. There was no genuine care or accountability in how my feedback was received. That left me with the impression that creating a safe and respectful environment for students is not a priority here. Because of this, I cannot recommend One Down Dog. No student should feel unsafe, dismissed, or judged on their mat.

I have done yoga here and there in the past. When I decided to pick up the practice again of course I picked the closest to me. That made me try it. But, what has made me STAY is the atmosphere, compassion, warmth and great teachers. I have learned more about myself through the help of One Down Dog. I highly recommend.

Was so happy with my experience here! I wasn't familiar with the area and arrived 20 min before class anticipating parking.. so of course I had no idea where to park and ended up being late by the time I got there. They were so kind and understanding, this is very rare in LA, most fitness places will nickel and dime you for anything. Really appreciate this kind of business and the class was wonderful.

me and ODD go together real bad!! one of my new year resolutions was to start taking yoga more seriously and consistently and ive been going at least once a week for 8 months now!! My favorite classes are flow with dylan, yin with nate, candlelit/slow flow yoga with emma and flow with asia!! everyone is super friendly and really makes yoga something to look forward to every week (:

I have been attending classes at One Down Dog for around 7 years, I love it because they place a strong emphasis on community and self love. There are a couple locations around town but the Hollywood location is by far my favorite! The studio space is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely sitting area and little shop and most importantly there's a ton of parking (on the roof of the Marshalls)! The front desk staff is super kind and helpful, shout out to Megan, it's such a joy to see her every week. I regularly take classes with Katherine, Megan, Mikayla, and Emalee. They all are wonderful, patient teachers who come up with fun, creative flows! Seriously I can't recommend this studio enough!!!

I use to go to the studio located in Eagle Rock so I was eager to check out this spot. Parking can be challenging especially since the lot is shared with other businesses. Plenty of free street parking though. Studio is located upstairs. It looks just as nice as the studio in Eagle Rock. Very clean especially since you have to leave your shoes outside. There's a little shop where you can purchase some workout gear. Kind of expensive though, but the quality appears to be good. There's a restroom on the same level and right next to the studio. You need a key to access it and the bathroom was clean. I took the core class. Slow pace. Sometimes I wasn't sure if I was doing it right and it would have been nice if the instructor walked around more often to check on the students form especially since the class wasn't very big. There are more challenging. sweaty classes though if that's your thing. Would I go back? Maybe, but not sure I would do the core class again. They take Classpass.

Can't say enough good stuff about this place. The instructors are top notch and genuinely so nice, the locations are all gorgeous and feel airy and peaceful, and the amount of different kinds of classes make it a one stop shop. I especially love how much effort they put into making it feel like a real community--always cool challenges or events, and the Hollywood location has a space to hang out and drink tea and read books. I just think it's so special and I've been going every day and it's kind of changed my life!!! I'm even now the kind of girl who wakes up at 6am to go take a class. Thank you to Sarah, Natalie, Monica, and Elisa especially!!!

I've been to so many yoga studios in LA through ClassPass. And this one is my favorite, hands down. So much so that I don't mind driving 20 mins to go here when there are studios much closer to me. I love the vibe of ODD. It's very peaceful, and classes are usually small. The instructors always take the time to get to know students and check in with us. My favorite classes are 'Sweat' and 'Fit'. Highly recommend!

The MOST amazing yoga studio! Filled with the kindest teachers and receptionists. Such an inclusive space and I love all their classes equally from flow + to slow flow and unwind! They have everything!!

Generally I don't write a review after just taking one class, but I'd feel guilty not giving a well deserved 5 Stars to ODD and specifically Essence's 75 minute Flow class. Studio is spacious and seems new, staff is so sweet and inviting. I was intimated by the idea of taking a 75 minute yoga class but it flew by - felt like 30. There's a lot of love at this studio and I'm looking forward to coming back. Parking is easy - I grabbed a meter on Sunset but there's a lot in the strip you can park in and some neighboring streets with avail spots as well. One downside is that the bathroom is in the yoga space which I see quite often. Barefoot bathroom + yoga mat scenario is not my favorite but that's being nit picky because class was great.

Wow talk about a new love / obsession. I've always wanted to be better at yoga, while feeling out allllllll my feelings of rage and anger on the mat when I'm not good at it (damn you years of dance flexibility giving me over confidence). Went off the mat for years, seething at yoga studios across the country for being "too fast," "can't link breath to movement," "I'm hyperventilating," etc. Enter One Down Dog. Right across the street from my house, and I was truly shocked to see how many classes they offered every day - and the variety!! No vinyasa only or 120 degree only type stuff here, truly classes for everyone: Chill and Align for beginners (or erstwhile beginners like me), Flow to push you if you're new or challenge you if you're not, lots of versions of yin / hatha, and some sweaty Pilates and core classes I'm too scared to try just yet. More than the variety, though, is HOW much the staff wants you to love yoga and succeed here: when I emailed ODD about my hopes dreams and yoga fears, and mentioned one flow teacher just wasn't my type because that class was a bit more advanced, Grace HOOKED IT UP with teachers to try, classes I hadn't thought of, and encouragement to keep up with some of the more challenging Flow classes along the way. She was 1000% accurate in her suggestions for me, despite the bonkers email. Favorite instructors so far are Yoni and Molly, who really get into how your body should be positioned even during faster flows - which is where I usually get frustrated. Make sure to try out a lot of instructors, and perhaps their diff classes. And definitely tell your instructors what you need help with! Most classes aren't a traditional flow, which can be freeing, but also a little frustrating because it can take longer to feel solid about knowing your basics.

One of my FAVORITE yoga studios in LA. Where do I start? The teachers are world class, the community is so supportive, and there is a class for however you are feeling. All classes are taught to all levels and the teachers can kick your butt in sweat, teach you some new stuff in a funky flow class, or help ease the stress away in a restorative or back class. I love how thoughtful the programming is (and the amazing playlists!!!). There are always amazing workshops going on in addition to the variety in class schedule. If you are looking for a yoga community, definitely check them out! The downside? Parking can be atrocious (welcome to LA lol), but it is manageable with the street metered parking and neighborhood parking within walking distance. Yoga in LA can be really expensive, but they have some good packages to help make it more manageable.

Long overdue review! I can't express how grateful I am to ODD yoga. First off, I'm in a very unique situation where I travel 90% of the time for work and barely have time for anything, let alone yoga. The team has been incredibly understanding and supportive over the years, they've worked with me and been beyond considerate with my membership. Other places in LA have been god awful, so I'm truly grateful that there are businesses that actually want to create a community and be kind. Adam is by far my favorite instructor there. He's excellent at providing an engaging yoga practice while offering words of wisdom to truly "reset" your mind,body, and soul. Kim, also great for prenatal yoga. I've attended her classes for both my pregnancies and loved how honest and nurturing the class was, especially through your own spiritually journey of pregnancy. ODD, the biggest THANK YOU EVER!

Don't know where I'd be without this studio. I hate that feeling of walking into a new yoga studio and feeling like you don't belong. Everyone seems to know each other, getting lost looking for the bathroom, not sure where to set up your mat or what props to get, etc etc. With One Down Dog I never felt that way. As soon as I walked in and mentioned it was my first time there, the girl behind the desk immediately welcomed me in a way that felt so sincere. She took the time to show me around, introduce me to the teacher, and to make sure I had everything I needed for class. It was such a refreshing experience. And it wasn't a one time thing. As I showed up for more and more classes I noticed that each person I met had this same inviting, open energy. ODD is now my home and I come here as often as I can. I travel a lot for work and will sometimes be gone for weeks at a time but I always return to the same energy that makes me feel like I was just there yesterday.

I began attending classes at ODD is January of 2016. I never knew how much I needed yoga until then. It's become such a part of my life I would be lost without it. I have enjoyed making our home our yoga studio, some days multiple times a day. Though I miss the studios I have appreciated the amount and variety of classes offered via streaming, some of which I may not have tried in-studio. Thank you for being there for us during this unprecedented time!

Great cute studio. The parking lot always has parking. There is a vegan restaurant downstairs. The front desk staff is super helpful; they even emailed classpass for me one time there was an issue. All the instructors are personable and friendly. Super nice ambience. I come here often for the yin classes. I wish they had more times and offerings, otherwise, super awesome studio that I love!

Love one down dog! They have a studio in echo park and silver lake which is perfect for me, because one is right by where I live other is right next to where I work. So I like going to yoga at lunch during the week and I LOVE the Mondays/Wednesdays lunch class. The teachers/classes are wonderful, I leave them feeling so refreshed. And I really appreciate how thoughtful and creative the teachers are! However I really don't like the Tuesday/Thursday lunch class :/. The class is really redundant and I always leave them feeling meh. It's a real bummer because I wish I could go to yoga 5 days a week during lunch, but I really just can't go to the tues/thurs anymore.

This is an amazing yoga studio - truly unique and always a great time. They have a wonderful philosophy that all of the teachers agree with and embrace a diverse group of students. It's a great vibe and I love their music. I was recommended to check out ODD when I moved to LA from NYC. I'd never done yoga before always thinking it wasn't for me as I'm not so into hippy dippy stuff and not very flexible. I am big into fitness and run long distance regularly, which fits well with this studio. Coming here once a week has helped my mind, body, soul, and running tension. Their best class is Sweat, a combo of aerobics and yoga. I've taken it with Audrey (who also does an Acro yoga class) and Cindy who are both AMAZING. Come here but beware you'll want to stay. Pricing - great Attitude - great Workout level - all up to advanced

Love ODD. funny how I have been with them for almost 2 years but never felt the need to check in or wrote a review! I would say I find ODD my family outside of home and practicing yoga here gives me a sense of belonging and all the instructors are absolutely adorable and enthusiastic about sharing their experiences and their practice! Don't be too worried about it even if it's your first time, ODD offers a wide variety of yoga with different levels and no one, I mean NO ONE, should be discriminated just cos you have zero yoga experience. ODD is the perfect spot to feel included and not outcasted :)

One Down Dog seems more concerned with monetizing yoga rather than creating a quiet, sacred space. However, the front desk team are welcoming and helpful. Studio spaces are crowded. One was blasting techno. The Green studio is particularly small with low ceilings. As there are no locker rooms, I utilized the cubbyhole. I was 15 min. early and checked my phone to see if a friend was coming. The instructor, Essence, indirectly told me and another person to go outside if we needed to use our phones, "it's just weird" and rolled her eyes. Poor communication and not a great tone to start. Her teaching style is so off putting, rich with attitude and ironically egoic. She cursed throughout class, kept mixing up right and left, antagonized us for being "too serious" and really worked for laughs. Had a very LA/comedian vibe. Not my personal preference. Will not return.

I've been a student of One Down Dog for 4 years. I deeply appreciate the community. There's a wide variety of classes and all the instructors bring their own flavor to their classes. Across the board, I can expect kindness, modifications to fit where I'm at in my practice and a moment to center myself. The staff is exceptionally friendly. I'm glad to have this space to exercise my body and release my mind.

ODD is such an incredible community with fantastic classes, instructors, workshops, fun challenges, and honestly they sell the cutest stuff too. I've been going for over two years now, and it's the first studio I've found in LA where the people who go there and work there are welcoming, lovely, and accommodating. As someone who has always hated working out, I'm so glad I've finally found something that works my body and mind! ODD has honestly shifted my perspective in a big way and has made me a better, more balanced person. So grateful this place exists! So happy that I can go to Silver Lake which is closer to where I live or Echo Park which is near work. Going to Eagle Rock for the first time this weekend and can't wait. :) There are classes for everyone too, and instructors often give options for poses to make them easier or more challenging, always mixing it up and making people feel good about what they're bringing to the mat on a given day. There's really something for everyone, and the way they define the classes makes so much sense vs. separating people based on skill level like at other studios. SWEAT, FLOW, SCULPT, CORE are all an incredible workout. And I love FLOWDOWN and CHILL which will also let you work up a sweat but at a slightly chiller place. Nice to go to RESTORE every now and then for ultra relaxation. Love all the instructors too -- tend to go to Katherine, Adam, Cindy, Essence, and Bobbi the most!!! :) They all have their own unique styles and playlists!

This studio has an amazing vibe. The sound system is great, the wood floor and layout of the studio are perfect. I really like they have a lot of plants around. Friendly front desk and will return for sure.

Artsy studio on the second floor of a busy shopping plaza-- well lit and clean. Easy parking downstairs. Friendly staff. Awesome promo deals for new students ($35 for first mo. Use the Yelp check-in coupon) My favorite class-- Sweat. Yes that's a sweaty work out. It's more of core exercises combined cleverly with basic yoga movements. I haven't explored other classes such as flow or Buti here. Recommended if you live in the area.

I love ODD so much, especially now that they're doing virtual classes and I can just pop in for a quick session any day of the week. I've really been into the yin class with Audrey - she's so knowledgeable about the body and this class always works out all the stress I've been storing up. I also love "chill" with Caitlin or Sarit, they're both lovely and each class they teach feels unique. I got really into the "butt" class for awhile and might pick it up again! Lots of variety and great teachers and good vibes at this spot. I've been to a lot of different yoga studios in my life and this is my favorite by far.

Awesome yoga studio! I innitially started to go to One Down Dog because of yoga teacher training. I took Jessica's sweat class and wow did she make me sweat! The class was a very fun but kick your ass type of environment. Everyone is really friendly, kind, and helpful. If you are thinking about doing your teacher training, i would recommend ODD!!

I have to be truthful and state that although I don't do yoga, the customer service from this place was worth a higher rated review. An apparel line called Beyond Yoga makes great exercise clothing for all types of workouts, and One Down Dog was one of the places the company recommended to me to find a large selection of their clothing. Nicole was the associate I spoke to over the phone, and she could not have been more helpful or friendly. Even though they didn't have exactly what I was searching for, I was very happy with the help that I had received. If I ever do find myself in a yoga class, I would probably come here based on what I have experienced so far. Judging from their reviews, I would be making the right choice.

Ah, One Down - I love you! I have been coming to this studio a little over six months since I moved to Silver Lake and I love it. I've been a member of two other studios previously and One Down is by far the best. I have limited exercise time, so when I do show up, I want to work and burn some serious calories. One Down does not disappoint. Many of their classes are high energy, cardio-based workouts. Vibe: Empowering, fun, non-judgmental. Best Class: Sweat at 11:00am on Saturday. Jessica, the owner, teaches it and it is awesome! Such great energy, and indeed you will sweat out half your body weight. This isn't lightweight sh*t. Bring ice water and a wet towel and be ready to work. Oh, and vibe wise, think "Total Eclipse of the Heart" during hip openers. In Jess's words: "Dance Party right now. Permission Granted." Best Teachers: Jessica (Sweat), Ducky (Flow) and Alexis (Sculpt). Staff: Great. All friendly (not to mention beautiful... but this is yoga, so duh). Tech Extra: One Down has their own iphone and anroid app so you can easily view the weekly class offerings. They even have a blog with some class playlists posted! Parking: Valet Parking for $1 with validation. I usually just find street parking behind the studio or right on Sunset, which isn't too bad if you're willing to walk a couple minutes. Prices: I originally bought the Groupon - 20 classes for $82... STEAL. I had to use this within three months, so it was a great motivator. Towards the end of my three months, they offered me 20 classes plus two extra for $240, which comes out to $10.90 per class. Totally worth it. Take advantage of their promotions and this studio is one of the more affordable ones out there. Other Highlights: 1. Late classes. I get off work pretty late and so I need a studio that schedules classes later in the evening. This studio has classes starting as late as 8:45pm for us career girls! Thank you! 2. Patrick is the studio's mascot. He's Jessica's dog and he frequently joins us at the front of the class. Adorable. 3. They have a shop with super cute yoga clothes and often have a good sale section Drawbacks: 1. Classes get crowded since One Down only has one class spaces. It's big, but for popular classes (like Saturday morning Sweat), the room does fill up and I've seen latecomers be turned away. Get there 5-10 minutes early and you're fine. 2. It gets pretty hot in the room, unless the open the big window/doors that line one large wall. My advice is bring ice water and towel.

I cant start a day without doing my excercise at this place. Best instructors, nice location, friendly people. This place rock!

Brittany's flow classes are creative and challenging and I often find myself getting to the next level there. Ellina's classes are hard and you best do your homework. Brianna's classes are dance-y and perfectly fluid. Bobbi's classes are accessible but she has the BEST music and is also creative with her sequencing. I might cancel my Classpass membership and go full on family-mode here, the classes and instructors are so good. We'll see.

Wow. What an unbelievably wonderful community. I moved to LA with few friends and anxiety at an all time high. I started out with their super fun SWEAT class which is exactly as the name suggests. Sweaty!!!! Depending on the teacher, I found you can either get a power flow, or a mini dance party in chair pose. Never was I the yogi that could sit still in a yoga class, but One Down Dog and their CHILL class really took me to that restful and focused mind I was searching for. After almost five years here I have seen the studio welcome in various teachers and class types, and it's really helpful to read the class descriptions and teacher profiles on their website. They even have this super easy to navigate app with all the updates on classes and happenings around the studio. Basically, I'm obsessed. I don't go as often as I should anymore, but when I do make it back in, I get a warm and lovely welcome. Try it. Ya might like it.

I love this place, its become a central part of my daily life. I love Paula's class on Weds and Saturdays, she's a beaming ray of sunshine and her classes always reduce my anxiety and leave me feeling ready for the rest of the day. I'm also a huge fan of Bobbi's FLOWDOWN class on sunday afternoons - its the perfect way to end/start your week. The unlimited monthly membership is very reasonable (even for a poor graduate student) and you can go to either studio - and a new one in Echo Park is opening up soon - meaning you have lots of choice to fit your schedule. I was a beginner to yoga before I started at ODD last january and couldn't recommend it more highly.

I went to the "chill" class. $25 for a one-hour class with mediocre instruction. The music was too loud, I often couldn't hear the instructor and for a "chill" class it was nerve-jangling, not relaxing. The music continued during savasana and the final meditation. The blankets provided smelled of extremely strongly scented detergent. Would be a more welcoming space for more people if those chemicals were not in the mix.

this is not real yoga. if you want to just move your body around, this may work for you. i've been doing yoga for a looong time, and yoga for me is supposed to be a moving meditation. a proper yoga class should be at least 75 minutes long and not play club music. this studio plays loud thumping club music and doesn't care about its neighbors which include a psychotherapy office. very un-yoga-like. the owner says the loud music is part of their business model and refused to keep the music low until they figure out the sound insulation situation. there are plenty of studios that have better classes and instructors, like still yoga (e.j. merlin), roam, and yogaworks. if you want the club thing, y7 (rae scharfman) is way better.

If you're looking for an online yoga class during these times, One Down Dog will welcome you with (virtual) open arms. There are many free options out there, but One Down Dog is the one for you if you're looking for an inclusive studio filled with real people. The amazing teachers often tailor the class to a theme, and offer so much more than a physical workout. This studio offers a beautiful assortment of classes, including 30 minute meditation classes that are perfect for a grounding reset. I had been attending weekly classes at their Silverlake and Eagle Rock studios for the past few years, but this year with the transition to online classes, I've found myself seeking out even more time on my mat, especially with the convenience of it being in my own living room. As you can see from all of the other 5 star reviews, One Down Dog is a gem.

I've been coming to yoga here for about six months now and I really enjoy the wide mix of classes, and the kindness of the instructors and staff. They make a special effort to learn your name, and do a great job of creating the feeling of community within the classes and within the studio. The studio is on the second floor of the building, and I park on the street when necessary. This means you end up looking out into the sky, trees and plants, which is really relaxing. I first heard about ODD when I got a flyer at the Silverlake Farmers Market for their new student special-- 30 days for $50! It stayed on my fridge for a few months before I decided to take the plunge. To say that ODD has changed my life is an understatement. I no longer practice solely at home, but have been known to take 2-3 classes a day at the studio! The mix of classes-- from restorative to hardcore cardio-- is really incredible, and the instructors and staff alike are kind. Classes are usually full, but not uncomfortably packed like at a lot of studios. As others have noted, the studio is on the second floor of the building. Street parking can be a bit of a bear, especially during rush hour, but the hustle is worth it. Also worth noting that floors aren't cleaned between classes, at least not that I've ever seen. Kinda gross, especially after some of the sweatier classes.

I get such a high from all the yoga classes I take! And especially since this pandemic has kept us at home, I have interaction with many yogis through the excellent offerings of One Down Dog online. Online classes encourages others who don't live in LA, even people from various countries join. The trained instructors all bring their individual personalities and music to class. I love this neighborhood yoga studio! Even after almost 20 classes I've taken here, I always feel a genuine, warm welcome to the studio. No matter whether you are a beginner or advanced, everyone is treated the same. I love that it feels like a community and that they offer classes outside of typical yoga (like the sweat class, which is more of a workout class on your mat). Each instructor I've taken a class from is very knowledgeable and kind, but at the same time pushes you to keep going when the class gets challenging. I don't have experience with parking since I walk to the studio from home, but it seems like there might be valet you have to pay for at certain times (evening?). I would suggest arriving on the early side to try to get parking on the neighboring streets.

There are some definite aspects that I enjoy about the studio (other than it being in walking distance from my house). I really appreciate that One Down Dog cultivates community! I really love some of the teachers there. I wish more of their teachers went beyond just the physical aspects of yoga and touched more on the spiritual aspects. My favorite teachers are: Essence (she finds that perfect balance of spirituality and physicality, and incorporates some booty shaking) Ducky (she has amazing energy and even incorporated more traditional facets of yoga like breathing exercises and mudras) Yoni (best music playlists, super knowledgeable) Summer (super authentic, down to earth, and positive vibes) Katherine was highly motivating and gave a great work out with the sweat class (which feels more like a traditional workout class than Yoga in my opinion) I also tried Buti yoga for the first time with Karen at the other location. She overflows with positivity and goddess energy! Usually I don't like modern yoga genres but she expanded my perception with the Buti class and I love it! I wish they would bring the class to Silver Lake as well! Sorry I have to say didn't care for Adam's energy. I actually tried his class a few times just to make sure I wasn't misreading him or in case he was just having a bad day but unfortunately felt the same negative vibes. Another positive is that they offer one hour classes! It's great for days when I have a lot of work but would still love to practice! I am signed up for unlimited yoga and look forward to exploring more of the teachers and connecting with the One Down Dog community!

I've only been to the Silver Lake location. The classes themselves are hit or miss. However - my biggest issue with one down dog is that they OVERPACK classes all the time as if it's a donation yoga class and allow (super) late comers in (I've seen them let in people 10 min late and then they try to fit them in by making us move matts.. If I'm paying $20 a class, that's just absurd.

This was the second yoga studio I tried when I moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago- and I never left! This studio rocks. The energy and vibe of each location is welcoming, warm, and filled with love. They have classes for every level and every "yoga mood" you will find yourself in :). Plus it's super convenient that there are 3 locations with the same classes and staff. I rotate between the Silverlake and Echo Park locations weekly- I even drop in the Eagle Rock sometimes!- with just the price of one membership! that's a DEAL, and with La traffic, being able to pick the studio closest to me at the time is an absolute blessing! Personally, I recommend trying the different teachers for each class. Classes like "chill" "sweat" and "flow" are always a little different from each other because every teacher has their own style. Definitely worth figuring out what you prefer :) I love being a part of the ODD family!
