Something different for us on a visit to Tampa, Korean food. I've only had Korean a few times and was a bit apprehensive visiting One Family, but it does have some pretty glowing reviews. It wasn't very busy and not very large, and it was nice inside. Our server was right over to take drink orders. We started looking through the menu.
I finally came up with Hot Stone Bibimbap (R2), a rice bowl with veggies, a fried egg, and I chose beef as my protein. When it arrived, I discovered it was a hot stone bowl, quite hot and kept the food inside hot for much of the meal. I learned after doing a little post-meal research that this attractive colorful bowl has been a popular Korean meal for centuries.
Lucky for me they provided wooden chopsticks, I would have really struggled eating out of a bowl with the metal ones. They also have forks for those of us who are need them.
How was the food? I'm not the best person to evaluate. That said, it wasn't too impressed. I don't adapt that well to different cuisines and I didn't know I should stir everything up when I started. There wasn't as many vegetables as I would have liked. My wife got their grilled ribs (Galbi) and I had a couple, the meat was tough. I also sampled marinated beef (Bulgogi) and that was excellent.
I thought our overall bill for three people was high, my dish was the least expensive.
