One Pico Restaurant

Wonderful meals in Dublin! We enjoyed the first time so much we dined with them twice more during our visit. Each course is fantastic and they recommended some great wines for my wife and son. Cheers!

Just an wonderful experience. The menu was limited but the food, service and ambiance were simply amazing. Definitely the best meal experience in Dublin during my trip.

Just wow. This restaurant is outstanding. The food was delicious, very well presented, with so many flavours. The menu was varied, and catered to all tastes in my opinion. We had very nice cocktails here also. The service is on another tier, incredible. Very well trained staff, courteous, knowledgeable, and they paid attention to detail. We will certainly return in the near future.

Like the service and the atmosphere. Food was good too but I had higher expectations. Desserts need a lot of improvement, given the standards of food in there the desserts were average and no style.

One pico I never fails to disappoint. Every time I go there the service atmosphere and the food alone is an all-time incredible experience. The food is beautiful and well crafted to your palette. Highly recommend the passion fruit soufflé. If you’re visiting Dublin this is definitely the place to go to. Staff are hospitable and kind. One of my favourite places to go for a well deserved celebration. A lovely selection of wines too!!

The food is delicious and the pre-theatre menu is well priced with an adequate range of choices. The younger staff are nice but not perfectly trained, they tried set down our starters before we had moved our bread plates (perhaps it bad for moving our bread plates from the side to directly in front of us 🤷🏻‍♀️), they did not bring the bill when asked. However the older more experienced staff were great, attentive, friendly and helpful. As you would expect with high cuisine portions are a little small but exquisitely tasty.

Attended a fantastic evening in the Polo room here recently. A small, well crafted menu that suited both vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The food was amazing, the service was fabulous and some discreet personal touches were much enjoyed (celebrating anniversaries and that sort of thing). I've not eaten here for many years but it was stunning. It's truly elegant and a lovely venue to hire for a special occasion.

Good - The Parmesan pastry starter and the chocolate truffles at the end of the meal were good Bad - Service was abysmal for a restaurant that touts Michelin accreditation across every website and social media platform. We were seated at 7:05 and were not waited on until 7:30, drinks did not arrive until 7:40, first course came out well past 8:00pm. The table next to us had to specifically request that waiters actually describe the plates they were serving, to which they responded by bringing out the menu so they could read the description of the dish?? My wife tried to order a dirty martini but alas no olives in the whole restaurant which seems kind of crazy when you have a full bar. Food was aesthetically pleasing while lacking in almost every other department, particularly the smoked tuna starter and the turbot. Some might even go so far as to call it borderline unseasoned.

This restaurant has been serving French inspired food since the late 90's and a Dublin institution. The menu is classic French with Irish touch. Shame there is so little for vegetarians and both dishes on the menu were pasta dishes. Having been to many restaurants in France you notice the huge change in menus and choices for vegetarians. You have to order all the courses up front. The wine list and cocktail list is also quite extensive albeit a bit pricey. It is quite a cosy space with nice seats and ironed white table cloths. Staff are very welcoming and efficient but not very engaging. Missing the Irish friendly touch in the service. Food is quite nice here, nothing spectacular. Food lacked a bit of seasoning but the flavors were good. I absolutely loved my soufflé for dessert and the steak was cooked to perfection. The black truffle with the entree and main was not very intense or flavorful. Overall a nice meal and I would come back here again.

This great restaurant is tucked away on a one way street in a great part of Dublin. The ambiance is fantastic. Lowly lit, romantic in design, and classy in service. My host tonight treated me with 5 service ensuring that I had an experience to remember. The wine list is impressive & is well chosen. Many of the options pair well with the "pre-theatre" dinner menu. For dinner I had the cured sea trout with Goatsbridge caviar... phenomenal. Both aesthetically pleasing and pleasing for the pallet. For my main I elected to have the beef cheeks. Goodness, I have never had a piece of meat so soft and delicious! The dessert, well that was quite nice. Not my favorite tho.... For those of you who love chocolate it is a great choice as it is 64% dark chocolate with a great garnish on top.

Wonderful moment in this place. Scallops and lobster were amazing. All is well cooked and generous' service is over the top. Great place for a romantic dinner

Returned for another delightful meal. Seafood is a standout, both presentation and preparation. €39 prix fixe for 3-course dinner offered Monday - Thursday before 7 pm. Something for everyone. I can't say enough about the wonderful meal my husband and I had. The service was impeccable, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was spectacular! I had the scallop in crab bisque, and my husband had the lobster ravioli in bouillabaisse. They were both perfection. The homemade breads were also delish, but the main attraction was the beef with hen in the wood mushrooms. Cooked to perfection, so tender and flavorful, we practically licked our plates! Finished up with a pistachio financier and house made chocolates. Such a lovely dining experience from start to finish!

That place is amazing!!! Perfection - in food, design, service. I had cured salmon for starter, wow- the salmon amazing but also the avocado and lime mouse, just perfect balance. For main I had venison fillet with squash puree, slow cooked pear and onion - Can I please get it again?!!!!!! Desert to die for - hot chocolate fondant with gingerbread ice cream, the fondant was so soft - I only had it in that quality in La Maison (restaurant in D2) before. I didn't needed to eat all of it, but hey how can I not?!!! We were a group of 10 and everything went smooth, no service delay, no mistakes, nothing.. I love this place and yes - I defo recommend it and will be back, soon!

The starter looked like something Vermeer would have wanted to capture in oils, lustrous beet red again a matt slate background, creamy goat's cheese and that oh so delicately arranged salad that if food were apparel would be the 'nonchalant' silk scarf that nails the look. In short, food you want to stare at. Wistfully, lamenting that soon your greed will cause its inevitable destruction. Food that gives rise to oohs and aahs, and the odd 'I'm jealous!' comment. I was jealous of everyone because it all looked so good, even if I can never get over that thing about ducks, gullets and feeding methods that others seem only too well equipped to deal with, if the numbers going for foie gras were anything to go by. In my non-defence, though, can a meat-eater really be a kinder shade of cruel? Weirdly (worryingly?), the vegetables looked so beautiful you wouldn't be surprised to find out they were sentient, too. Thank the heavens for work lunches on special occasions, in this case, the celebration of the life and work of a truly wonderful author, to bring you to places you don't really belong. Like One Pico. You read about this place, where politicians throng (presumably just to make extra sure they stay right out of touch with the populus) and media types hob-nob. Or maybe that was the good old days. Business is not looking slack here though, as this lunchtime trade showed. You know the kind of place where the waiters know everything? They have this vaguely elusive air of authority that not only makes them remember every small detail of your order, but makes you feel that they might also be privy to such information as your bank balance, favourite record, or recent lingering internal self-doubts. It's the way they look at you - quietly all-knowing, all-seeing. That's your One Pico variety of waiter. You don't want parmesan in your risotto? He understands. You crave a deeper, more lasting sense of self-affirmation? He understands. It's too easy to cave at 'delicious' for food descriptions (I promise I won't use 'amazing'). But it just was goddamn delicious, every last morsel of starter, main and heart-breakingly small dessert that actually completely fills you up whilst stopping just short of causing you to identify with whales. They're not snobby about tap water, either. It's far from cheap, but it deserves to be - it does it all beautifully and it doesn't make a fuss. I want to go back. Now. Somebody rich take me. Please. I'll tell you loads of interesting gossip. Even if it's made up it'll be entertaining. And we can play a game of 'what do you know about the depths of my soul?' with one of the waiters. I'm sure they'd be up for it - after they've finished hypnotising you and downloading all the personal information from your brain before snapping their fingers with the words, 'Be seated now. You will remember none of this.'

Ranking: Mind-blowingly good food with a warm and friendly atmosphere - perfect for a special evening with loved ones and friends! Food: Delightful! My brother and I had the cheese plate, smoked eel, duck, filet mignon, strawberries & cream, and raspberry souffle for dinner last week. Some of the cheeses with the apricot jam were eye-closingly good - really great flavors together! The duck was also very stand-out! Juicy and firm (rare combo!) yet still packed with flavor that made me go Mmmm a number of times! The souffle was also awesome! It was my brothers though, so he got the lion's share of it though...I was kinda sad with my strawberries & cream given how great the souffle was. Hahaha! Get the souffle guys! Ambiance: Hidden down a Dublin alley, this is the warmer, friendlier version of it's sister restaurant, The Greenhouse - Grey, velvet button chairs and seats, warm lights from overhead, candles on the table. We had a 3 hour dinner here and could easily have stayed longer as it felt intimate and welcoming to dine there. Service: Great service! They seated us right away (after a call from Agnes at the Greenhouse beforehand) and the service continued to be great throughout the meal - glasses refreshed frequently, tables kept clear, friendly check-ins on if we were enjoying the meal. Really good service. Overall: This was a wonderful meal to enjoy with my older brother. We got to enjoy great food and service in an intimate environment that allowed us to connect and talk about wonderful things during our evening together. Very special place if you are looking to have a special evening.

Wonderful restaurant in a little alley that you are not going to just walk by but you should seek it out. The menu is well thought out and the flavor profile of each plate is a culinary delight for the palate. We had the filet, which was cooked to perfection and the duck which had just the amount of juiciness and firmness that duck should exhibit. Lastly, honorable mention goes to the apricot souffle, not a Buddhist but think I may have an idea of Nirvana now. The staff was also a pleasure which can be hit or miss at some local places. ooooh swanky! It was great to try a new place especially when someone else is footing the bill! My review of the food may not be totally on the ball what with me being a bit stunned from an event earlier that day. I rarely have dinners in my honour (this is something that I think should happen more!) and even more rarely in swanky places like this. Service was professional but also friendly and welcoming. I was slightly confused by my starter. I had ordered the onion soup and a bowl with a lump of something came out.... I had this moment where I wondered if I was so out of the loop and it might be passe to think that soup should be liquid. However there followed some ceremony where a gravy like liquid was then poured into the bowl, and then it all made sense. Yes soup is liquid! The mains, dessert and wine seemed as lovely as could be ascertained in my not-totally-with-it state. Actually I particularly liked that my dessert (creme brulee) came with ice-cream and biscuits as I like variety. It was a lovely relaxed dinner and despite the busy restaurant they really did not hurry us out. Just lovely!

Was in One Pico yesterday for a business lunch, and was thoroughly impressed. Food-tick. Absolutely delicious, well-thought out food. Had beautiful beetroot and goats cheese salad to start, a sumptuous sweet and savoury taste, which whet the appetite just enough for mains. Main course was a fabulous tart tatin of Clonakilty black pudding (can't resist it on a menu!) and cabbage which was simply wonderful, very fine dining with a distinct echo of traditional, homecooked Irish fare. To finish I had a very light lemon curd paired with basil jelly and a few other bits and pieces. Three courses for €25 is a great way to sample one of Dublin's best without breaking the bank... Highly recommend!

Had been dying to try this place out for ages and finally got the chance on Sat night. Boy, I wasn't disappointed. We arrived at 6 (only booking available) and were promptly seated. I loved the decor, modern, sophisticated yet still had an intimate ambience. We were given the a la carte and the early bird special - 3 courses for 36.00. I chose the langostine risotto with snow pea and truffle froth to start followed by scallops with pork belly and a side of beetroot. The food was elegantly served and presented on the plate and the langostine melted in the mouth. The others had foie gras to start followed by Fermanagh chicken (both declared excellent) and a smoked salmon followed by sea bream for my health conscious friend. All of these were off the early bird special. The sommellier was very nice, not at all pretentious and chose a very nice french Pinot Grigio to accompany our meal from their House range. Now the downside and the reason they failed to score a full 5 stars was the dessert. I had a wonderfully executed vanilla creme brulee, my hubby had chocolate fondant, with pistachio ice cream and it didn't disappoint. But our pals were sorely let down by the lemon tart. I couldn't believe when it was presented to them. The pastry was dark brown and very obviously burnt!! It was such a let down and such a fundamental error we felt it should never have been served up and taken off the menu. We pointed it out to the Maitre D' and suggested he pull it off the menu as it was not acceptable at all. Having said that it won't stop us bookmarking this place to return to as there were a few other tasty options I want to try.

If you want to be spoiled rotten this is the place to go. From start to finish everything is about perfection, design, service and a hint of art. We started with a glass of Prosecco which went down easy and hit the spot. This was followed by an amuse-bouche of roast chicken mousse with onion jelly. I had the langoustine risotto as starter. After there was the pallet cleanser of apple and celery sorbet with orange jelly. Next up the main course. It was veal steak with a side of green beans. Then came a petit -four of honeycomb and caramel ice cream with a chocolate waffle. THEN came the dessert, it was lemon posset. This meal was the most incredible experience in dining I've ever had. It's too bad I can't give 6 stars it's THAT GOOD. Sensational!

In Dublin for a couple of days during one of my rare visits home to Ireland from San Francisco. I've dined at plenty of Michelin star restaurants and I'd give One Pico one. Excellent meal, excellent service and we went for a cheaper bottle of wine (budget issues) and it was excellent as well. The only issue we had was that my fillet steak was over cooked (ordered medium rare) , I choose to keep it, it was still delicious and the matter was taken care off more than satisfactorily. Great ambiance and I'll be back in a couple of years.

A quick interview with myself: How good is it here? very very good How was the service? exceptional; smooth, professional, non invasive How much did it cost? quite a lot, but worth every penny - we had a set menu, 68Euro per person, wine extra of course and several menu items carried a surcharge (the cheese plate for example) Do you have any regrets? not really, I very much enjoyed my starter (foie gras) but my companions all had a prawn Moussaka which looked and by all accounts tasted, spectacular. Yup, very very very good, I highly recommend it! last question before I let you on your way.... can you remember where we left the car keys?

Lunch - 5 People - Sunday Feb 16th 2014 Restaurant was busy but not packed. The food was delicious and represented excellent value for the quality on offer (25 euro for 2 courses) or €29 for 3. Superb presentation of the food also. Definitely recommend for lunch. The goats cheese and beetroot start was as good as it gets, and the ham terrine foie gras starter was also excellent. The Beef cheek main was melt in your mouth tender and the Atlantic Cod dish was flavoursome. Will be going back again soon.

Just had a very good lunch in One Pico. started with whipped goats cheese and beetroot, dressed with lovely micro herbs, very tasty. followed with roasted cod on a bed of potato puree, french beans and peas. really good Two of us with coffees, 55Euro, that's good value for food of this quality.

This is the mostly positive review. We arrived around 12 PM and were asked to wait in the little room off the bar and hostess stand for nearly 15 minutes before we got seated. We then sat for another 15 to 20 minutes before I had to ask someone if we could have a order taken. All in all, our lunch of three courses took nearly 2 hours and cost 79 euro. Yowza. The bread here is amazing. Their dishes arrive with a beautiful layout, but I didn't always like the combination of flavors in every dish. Still, I think it was more my taste buds than the actual dishes. But some things, like the brown gravy that went with the mushroom dish or the potato side dish, just felt really flat. The salmon appetizer is very interesting. The servers were polite to extremely friendly. And the ambience of this location is beautiful.

Wonderful meal, lousy location in an alley, with rodents seen running along the buildings. However, once we entered this venue we were greeted by a most professional staff, wonderful food and drinks and desserts. The 4 of us enjoyed the pre fixe dinner, which was your only choice. We started with a foie gras, 2 of the seared scallops, and the butternut squash risotto. Each of the appetizers were outstanding with perfectly sized portions. For our entrées we had the rabbit, the venison, the turbot and the beef. We wound up sharing and each of us savored every bite. Once again serving sizes were just right. While the concept is supposed to be pre fixe, there were many surcharges for most items, including potato and vegetable sides. 3 of us had cocktails, which were prepared beautifully along with 1 house Chardonnay, which was also satisfactory. Desserts were also outstanding with us sampling the soufflé, the chocolate cake, the strawberries with white chocolate and the cheese selection, which also came at an added expense. When you include all of the surcharges it wound up costing about €190.00 per couple before tipping. I wish the location was better but all in all we had a terrific evening. Highly recommended.

Well done Kazanger for reminding me about One Pico, one of my best meals ever, about 4 years ago so can't remember the meal exactly. It's tucked away and you'll need to book. Thoroughly recommended.

There is a Nice restaurant in Dublin! If you have a dinner, you should make a reservation, and you should dress up! :) Foods is so nice! And also cocktails and wine is good!! Stuffs is kindly. Restrooms is clean.

We went here on New Years Eve visiting from the states. We had a later dinner reservation but told them we'd like to be out within two hours which was quicker than what they wanted. They not only got us in and out quickly but the food was amazing, best I had in Dublin. I'd highly suggest the foie gras and espresso martinis. Their menu changes all the time but you definitely can't go wrong. I would definitely go back if I was in Dublin again!

There's nothing negative to say about One Pico. For me, it is fine dining food and serve without the price tag. Don't get me wrong, it isn't the cheapest place to eat but I think it's worth spending that little bit extra to get such good food. They also cater very well for vegetarians and vegans. If there's nothing on the menu to suit your diet, they will adjust it. Always a good sign of a great restaurant in my opinion.

Delicious delicious food. Desserts were amazing as was my filet. Service was good, not great. They my have been understaffed that evening.

I love One Pico. I have been a few times and recently went for Mothers Day Lunch. We had the set menu and I had a delicious goats cheese salad, followed by ray wing and a dessert of Panna Cotta. Presentation is very good and you almost dont want to mess it up by eating it! The wine list is good and we found the Bergerac to be a nice compliment to our meal. The decor is very nice in One Pico, I was very comfortable sitting in a big grey armchair. The staff are attentive and helpful and i will be back soon for another treat day.

Food was good but we found a hair in my wife's risotto and they claimed it was staged.

Just celebrated our anniversary with dinner at One Pico,it didn't disappoint!!! Lovely intimate place,excellent service and amazing food-you can't lose! Especially when you do the early bird,€39 per person for 3 courses-will be back!!

Had fabulous lunch here. The dining room is cosy and quite elegant but casual. Reasonably priced considering quality .The risotto was one of the best risotto dishes I have had . The service staff is attentive and friendly . Highly recommended

Formal dining in Dublin. They had a three course price fixed meal. I had crispy pork belly, which was good. The foie gras tartine was really good. It was a nice quiet evening. Good place to have a romantic evening,

Myself and the Fiancé had dinner in One Pico a number of months ago. Excellent food served by very attentive staff who knew instinctively when to appear and when to hang back. We brought a very fancy Premier Cru (Chateaux Haut Brion, 1995....I think the corkage was €17) and the French sommelier made a great fuss of decanting the bottle and making us feel special without exposing how unworthy I was to drink it. This is a Michelin star experience (without the price) and I hope they get one someday.

I had been here a couple of months ago and forgot to write a review. I thought the food here was absolutely delicious and found beetroot and goats cheese salad was the one I've ever eaten. It's fine dining at an affordable price and can't wait to go back here

I love this restaurant I visited One Pico during valentines day and it really didn't disappoint! Most other diners seemed to be locals. Service was excellent and food was outstanding. A starter of beetroot and goats cheese was delicious and the halibut was perfectly prepared. I found the One Pico to be a very pleasant restuarant with excellent food and quality service and highly recommend it to all visitors and locals of Dublin.

I was here with my wife on vacation a couple weeks ago. My main criticism is that it is one of those restaurants that place too much attention on presentation, at the cost of portion size and occasionally taste. Service was excellent. Location is excellent - tucked away on a quiet side street. Excellent wine list as well. We had as starters: * Liscannor Crab (avacado/eel/caviar/aioli). This is emblematic of my complaint. We received either two or three tiny cylinders of foodstuff, roughly 3.5-4 centimeters in length, and about 3/4-1 centimeter in diameter. The crab was inside. A microscopic sliver of eel was on one end (ie, 1 cm, by 2mm, by 2mm), with about 10-15 caviar eggs. The taste was rather, the only thing sticking out being the tiny bit of eel. However, there was a great deal of effort put into the presentation, with artful dabs and whirls of aioli and avacado purree. For 15.5 EURO, I would have preferred more emphasis on the taste and amount of food, and far less on arrangement. (Note: This was a different presentation that seemed a good bit smaller than the picture someone has posted below of the same dish from from Sept of last year.) * Foi Gras (seared, Parfait & Terrine). This was excellent, particularly the seared piece of liver that was otherwise seemingly untouched. Simply the best I've tasted. But again, so much attention was lavished on presentation. For 17.50 EURO, I'd hope for a bit more to eat. I had the beef entree, which was excellent as far as flavor is concerned. But once more, there was a huge amount of effort placed on appearance, but the dish itself contained only about 3-4 ounces of meat. Three little pieces. I do not recall what my wife had, but she will no doubt be posting here soon enough. Let me be clear: I am not a stereotypical American. I am of healthy weight and do not want 3,000 calories of food for dinner. I do not expect a 20oz steak when I order a beef dish in a French restaurant. But, I also do not want to go bed hungry, either. That is precisely what I did on this night. (Unfortunately my wife was too exhausted to stay, so we did not have cheeses/desert. That might have helped a bit). Note: It looked like a place frequented by business types, though we were there on a Monday evening, admittedly. I felt rather underdressed, as I didn't bring a suit along on vacation.

Tonight's dinner was the best yet in Ireland-and not the first round. Wine, apps, entree and dessert, was the best we've had. If you want excellent and attentive service, imaginative food combinations, and a great but well priced wine list, than come here. Our wait staff anticipated every want or need.

This place is the sister restaurant of the MICHELIN star restaurant the greenhouse. You can tell that it is run by the same owners. The food and service are impeccable, and for a very good price. Probably one of the best values in Dublin. Perfect for an evening dinner.

Great saturday lunch here in July 13. Excellent value set menu, wonderful service and really nice ambience. Companion's cheese and tomato risotto was very tasty while my elderflower parfait served in a watermelon consommé was ingenious and refreshing. Excellent wine selection.

Where to start! My family and I had a great meal on One Pico- food was lovely. However, after paying for our meal (just shy of 900 euro), we were approached by a member of staff who had not been dealing with us all evening. It was Valentines weekend, and apparently there had been two rose heads on our table. He couldn't see the roses (with 8 people at a table, I'm not sure if they could have fallen on the floor, but these things happen!) and scolded us like children in front of a room full of diners!! A really embarrassing experience, and definitely put a negative spin on our night! I called two days later to speak to the manager, who told me he hadn't been on duty, but would speak to the owner (no apology)- but no call back! Fast forward a week- I sent a follow-up email asking for a response, and still nothing! Just off the phone this evening and I spoke to Anthony, the man who approached us on the night, who told me he was 'acting manager'. Anthony told me that he saw my mail, but I was 'twisting things', and he was well within his rights to scold us. Still in shock, spent a lot of money, was spoken to like a child, ignored, and denied an apology- all by the management team! Won't be returning, and if you are looking for a hassle free evening, you should avoid this place!
