Food Delivery Service Wonder Is Opening 10 Philadelphia Locations | Eater Philly

"Scheduled to open in July 2025 at 1001 South Broad Street, this South Philadelphia outpost will use the same food-hall-as-ghost-kitchen approach championed by founder Marc Lore — the billionaire entrepreneur known for creating e-commerce sites like Diapers.com and Jet.com — which emphasizes quick, replicable recipes developed in collaboration with notable chefs and restaurants. Nationwide partnerships associated with the operator include Bankside by JJ Johnson; Jota by José Andrés (José Andrés is on the company’s board); Streetbird by Marcus Samuelsson; Bobby Flay Steaks; Yasas by Michael Symon; Chios Taverna; Walnut Lane by Jonathan Waxman; Di Fara; and more, but the exact vendor lineup for the Philadelphia-area locations will be released later. Customers will be able to order via the operator’s app or Grubhub (acquired November 2024) for dine-in, takeout, or delivery; delivery combines in-house staff, third-party carriers, and bike couriers provided via Relay (acquired November 2024). The rollout includes social-impact and logistical partnerships — such as a Philabundance donation option at checkout — and is supported by major fundraising (including $700 million raised in March 2024) and prior acquisitions like Blue Apron (2023). Critics have reported uneven execution across different vendor concepts in past visits (Robert Sietsema called the experience a mixed bag during 2024 visits to other locations)." - Nadia Chaudhury

The organization signed me under the written expectation that the entirety of the amenities would be completed at my move in during October 2024. To the contrary, 1001 only managed to achieve the advertised standards (expected at move-in) on September 2025, nearly an entire year after their originally claimed dates... The leasing office even held a fake pool grand opening on August 15th, 2024, which led me to sign and ultimately be deceived. As it turned out, the pool wasn't even licensed at that time...and was drained around November 2024 for over a month, as they awaited legal approval from the city of Philadelphia. Then, to make matters worse, even once they reopened it, they only heated it to a chilling 73 degrees. It was only until a "sufficient number of residents moved in" (to justify them actually heating it) this July 2025 that they began heating the pool to a "swimmable" 82 degrees. Until then, it remained entirely unusable despite numerous complaints. For the record, before the amenities were mostly completed in September 2025, there were a total of ten (10) long delays sent via email from the leasing office staff. Never a bulk credit to the tenants for the inconvenience due. Never an apology. A preference towards silence from the leasing office... Now, comes the many actual issues with my living quarters: -When I moved into the unit, there was literally a mosquito problem for the first three weeks I lived there. I have no idea where they came from or how they got in, but it took chemical sprays and a decent amount of time for them to go away entirely. -The original shower they had in my unit was built improperly, and was leaking from the basin into the hallway. Aside from them doing the quality assurance to make sure the shower was complete before move-in, nearly every shower of my neighbors experienced the same failures... Instead of being immediately willing to help, they spent around two (2) months trying to act like the shower wasn't actually leaking, despite a massive amount of visible water, before ultimately having to tear apart the wall inside my apartment to entirely rebuild the shower due to contractor failures. Not only did this force me to leave my property and travel for an entire week while they did the repair, but also left visible irreparable damage to the look of my wall as you exit the apartment due to a mediocre paint job. -The roller blinds within the units are extremely low quality, and do not block the sun from blinding you in any capacity. -My electric bill/meter keeps overbilling a continuous 5A phantom power draw, even when I'm out of town, that needs resolved. -The hot tubs have gone down for maintenance around four (4) times throughout the last year, and otherwise the chemicals have been so out of balance, that it has literally caused one of my swimsuits to nearly fade to white/yellow (from brown/green) and tear/disintegrate. -The contractors broke a window beneath my unit in November 2024. With this window broken, sound leaks from the Canopy Club and echoes into my apartment unit. This has had a super negative impact on my quality of life, because you just hear every time someone is using the grills or being loud outside. I have desperately tried to get them to replace this window, but for some reason, the 1001 team cannot order a replacement window over the course of an entire year... I have incurred over twelve thousand (+$12,000) worth of damages to date. They rushed their product to market, lied about the expectations, and ultimately deceived my pocketbook... However, I can say that the front desk staff, security, and cleaning labor are top notch, but the same cannot be said about the leasing office or their team of contractors building the development. Unfortunately, many other tenants have had similar experiences, and they have typically shown disregard for responding to most tenants in a timely manner...

Left an earlier review complaining. However would like to highlight some great things. The cleaning staff is great and so friendly. The front desk staff is super friendly and helpful with anything. The new assistant manager is friendly and seems to want to resolve any issues that occur. I went to speak to her about my apartment being accessed when I was told. Seems I missed an email that was sent out a few days prior. Be sure to check your email daily just in case. Also, at the time I informed her of a situation where I was making dinner and a maintenance worker came into my apartment without knocking. He apologized that he didn’t think it was a residence. I guess I also wasn’t given a sign for my door signifying that at the time of leasing. It was rectified immediately by the assistant mgr with an enormous amount of empathy. Also stated she would follow up to ensure they don’t just walk into any apartment. Felt heard. Also, I have met a lot of great people living here. Which makes it feel like a community.

I recently toured, and I was blown away by how luxurious and well-designed this building is. From the moment you walk in, it feels upscale and modern. The amenities are top-tier especially the Canopy Club pool area, which is a beautiful and relaxing space to unwind or entertain guests. The skyline views are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset! A special shoutout to Jenna! She was professional, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took her time walking me through the property, answered all my questions, and made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. You can tell she truly cares about helping people find the right home. If you’re looking for a luxury apartment in Philadelphia with amazing amenities and views, this property is definitely worth checking out ; and make sure to ask for Jenna!

Best building in Philly by far and we visited a lot before settling on One Thousand One. Absolutely stunning amenities, top tier equipment, sauna, steam room, infrared and tanning bed, two salt water pools and hot tubs, a gym with equipment fit for Mount Olympus (ski/snowboard simulator!) and catered events every month if not more. Staff has been extremely responsive for filter replacements, deck power washing, and any other requests we’ve had. Even with the level of luxury that’s being provided, there are definitely people who live here that constantly find something to complain about and therefore bring down their own experience. If you understand the law of attraction you’ll know exactly why that is happening. As for my partner and I, we absolutely love the community and have found so many likeminded individuals who want to love and celebrate life! We pinch ourselves all the time because it feels like you’re being transported to a beautiful oasis nowhere near Philly whenever you’re at the canopy club. The best part is, when you’re ready to hit center city it’s totally walkable or you can train down to the stadiums. The accessibility couldn’t be more convenient with the BSL one block away to go to NRG for the game or if you love FDR park like me, you can head down to the Asian food festival which runs every weekend half the year or play some tennis or volleyball - so many options! Hope this review helps and wishing you good vibes on your apartment hunt!

Recently moved into the One Thousand One apartments and I am very pleased. The units have top of the line appliances with pristine bathrooms and kitchens, the amenities are the best you can find in Philadelphia with ski and golf simulators, and the location is great with everything you could need around you. Accessibility is ideal, being only 10 minutes from center city and 15 minutes to i-95. The management here is also quick, reliable and efficient, thanks to Felicia and Lana. Highly recommended.

One Thousand One is truly a great place to live. The building has just about every amenity that you could ask for. Parts of the building are still under construction which is what most people seem to be upset about and complain about. However, my apartment oversees the construction and I’ve never been bothered by the noise. Also, more importantly, the quality of life here is fantastic and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. There are cleaners that keep the building spotless 24/7, a front desk team that’s super friendly, maintenance staff that addresses any issue in a heartbeat, and the property management team that goes above and beyond every time. The property management team also throws resident get togethers that are catered with food and drinks at least once or twice a month. It’s a great way to get to know your neighbors. I’d give the building and the team that keeps it up and running 5 stars everyday!

Glad the old GM is out. What a waste! Her communication and problem resolution was awful. Good luck to the new property she went to. Gonna give new management a chance. Problem in question, her assistant mgr told me I didn’t need a parking sticker to part in the lot (I have a parking lease) when I inquired multiple times. I’m away at a retreat off grid when communication goes out saying you need a pass. I get back my car is towed. I go to Management and explain the situation. She states the asst. mgr is no longer here and will rectify the situation, getting my car returned. Stated she’d call me in an hour with an update. 3 hours later still don’t hear anything, so I go back. She asked for 30 more min. After an hour I get a text apologizing that they will not be able to get my car back after all and I will be responsible for a “discounted” rate, since I was emailed notices. With only an hour to get to the impound lot I pay for an uber, get dropped 1/4 of a mile from the lot, get there it starts poring, and the tow driver tells me this has happened to multiple people in the building. So I have to pay $100, two city trespassing citations, and uber. The worst was loosing the zen I achieved from my wellness retreat. Honestly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s nice but they’ve also been lying about when amenities will open. Fingers crossed the new manager will be better, however she was here under Lana for a short period of time, so who knows. I have faith though.

Have been living here for a year now. The people that work here truly are the easiest people to get along with. They always have people working to keep shared spaces clean. The apartment complex is expensive but the amenities are world-class and I appreciate all the little things that the staff does. Free (good tasting) coffee in the lobby, clean elevators. I really like living here.
